We CANNOT do what Dem’s usually do, which is show up to vote in Presidential elections if they are sufficiently in love with their candidate. This is a generational war, we vote for more and better Democrats in EVERY election, and that includes any local election. We have to or this country as we know it will be gone. That’s not hyperbole — that it the future unless we work.

Following a lot of commentary on Harry Reid betrayal, there are some silver linings. Coalitions worked together in ways that Dem’s have never worked together (Repubs do it all the time). LGBT, unions, women’s rights. They worked together and actually moved filibuster reform down the field. Without that pressure, there wouldn’t even have been the crumbs we got. What a coalition means is that you work hard even if it isn’t your specific issue. That’s how marriage equality passed in New York. this is what we have to do. We cannot be single issue Dem’s, and we cannot wait to be in love with candidates. We have to support incremental change in order to take back this country.
