It’s a soccer team. There are Man U and Chelsea fans on this site, along with Wayne Rooney lovers. Chips, Lib-Lib and UT egg each other on whenever some game is on. I think UT and LL like one team, but Chips likes the other, I can’t remember which is which, but, unless you want to start a fight, stay away from Man U, Chelsea and that Rooney fellow. Those three are serious……. also, amk may be in on the whole soccer thing too.

POTUS like the Chicago Bears in football and the Chicago White Sox in baseball. Of course I remember FLOTUS saying he loves all kind of sports. The tv is to ESPN.

That’s not true. Pres. Obama roots for Chelsea and there are pictures to prove it. When Chelsea played Bayern Munich, he cheered for Chelsea as they became UEFA Champions League winners.

Photoshop! I call foul! Foul! Foul! Photoshop most foul! That never happened. Pres. Obama would never root for a team that wears red all the time. Never. His heart beats for Chelsea.

You don’t fool me with your tyrant ability to post pictures. I know, you know, and the world knows that Chelsea will always be number one for Pres. Obama. What color tie does he wear often. Yep….B-L-U-E.

                    Blue….blue….blue……

Ummm…nah. He wore blue at DNC 2012, wore blue when he won in 2012, wore blue for his 2013 inauguration, wore blue when he decimated Romney in the debates (I believe that was debate 1 and 3), wore blue when he gave the amazing DNC 04 speech that launched his presidential career, wore blue for his 2009 and 2013 official portrait, wore a bluish tie for the pivotal Yes We Can speech. I can go on and on and on. Pres. Obama is true blue. Go Chelsea! :D

Umm…NO. All of your pictures don’t come up to the moment when Pres. Obama was cheering along with David Cameron for Chelsea to win the Champions League. Nothing comes close to that. It proved once and for all, he is true blue. Goooooooooo Chelsea. Plus, he’s a Democrat. The very definition of true blue.

                    January 28, 2013 at 5:49 pm

Umm….NOPE. That’s Pres. Obama yelling in excitement because his team, Chelsea just won the championship. Look at his face and the ones who support Bayern. He’s happy that Chelsea won. He’s a Blues at heart. He’s even wearing a bluish tinted shirt.

I know PBO ultimate goal is to have the Bulls at the Whitehouse but having the Heat must be pretty fun for him since he has so many supporters on the team.

    • 52 anniebella

The Bulls only chance of getting to the White House with a championship is to get a healthy Derrick Rose back.

    January 28, 2013 at 1:46 pm

Can you imagine POTUS following the Bulls when Michael Jordon were there? I was a big Bulls fan when Jordon, Pippen, Paxson, Cartwright, Grant, Rodman was there and they were winning winning winning.

Dudette, that is a very connective beautiful observation by you Thanks for bringing it to our attention. POB again showing us his beautiful core of looking out for others and their joy as well. Dr. Susan Rice loves basketball so much, and I am sure there are so many beautiful thoughts going through her mind as she sits there and remembers another wonderful man in power who also gave her wonderful moments of being so special as a young lady growing up watching many games of basketball. , Sec. of Commerce,Ron Brown, her next door neighbor taught her many things about the game as she watched the guys play in the yard. She was also invited to play basketball with her brothers and Ron Brown who later became President Bill Clinton’s Sec. of Commerce and the DNC Chairman who helped elect Bill Clinton. Then she went on to work in the Clinton Administration as well. Full Circle, indeed.

And now again today, there she is an invitee to see a President and a great team in the White House; and she is in the audience as a fan of the game and nice basketball player, but most of all a very important Cabinet member of the POTUS. Two delights in the life of a young lady who worked hard also to get to the White House. Go Heats, Go POTUS, and Go Amb. Dr. Susan Rice.HZ

Wow! You’re absolutely right HZ! Great memory you’ve got there.

I’d totally forgotten about her connection to Ron Brown and that she was a player herself in her youth.I remember an interview a while back when she was in the Cinton admin (or maybe afterwards) where she talked about playing at school. Wish I could find it.

Anyway, today must have been such a treat for her!

Sigh… What a HELP he would have been in the last four years. He was a star and the media was giving him a big platform. I’ve been waiting for a few years now to see some new strong leaders emerge from the senate. We have many excellent and effective democratic senators, but not so many have that little extra that makes everybody pay attention when they speak. Of course now we have Elisabeth Warren who has a national audience, but she’s only beginning. Al Franken, where are you ?

Our young men who become fathers need to be more impress with Dwayne Wade the Father, then Dwayne Wade the basketball player. If you can’t take care of a baby, financially or being there to help raise a baby, then you have no business fathering children. I’ve seen to many cases were a young man gets a young women pregnant, he has no job, ain’t looking for a job, have no education, neither does the girl and the child is the one to suffer.

Dwyane Wade is a brilliant gifted basketball player and a beautiful and caring father. He wrote an excellent book about fatherhood after going through his legal battles with his sons. I highly recommend the book for those who have friends, young gifted young men in all walks of life to read it and share it with those appropriate family/friends. Great read: “A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball .”by Dwyane Wade. I admire his gifts, but I also admire his example as a beautiful father to his sons.HZ

Thousands gather at harbor to send Ravens off to Super Bowl. Some were there as early as 7 a.m.
Ray Lewis took the microphone and said one word three times: “Baltimore.”

Staring out at thousands of people crowding the Harborplace ampitheater, most of them holding cell phones or cameras aloft to capture the moment, the second player ever selected by the Ravens launched into a short speech. The team was making a pit stop on its way to the airport to fly to New Orleans for Sunday’s Super Bowl, so this would be Lewis’ last public comment in Baltimore as a member of the team he came to personify.

“There is no Ravens without you guys,” he said.

    [Interesting ...]:

Last week campaign disclosure reports revealed that Hillary Clinton had finally retired the debt from her 2008 presidential campaign—with a little help from the guy who beat her, Barack Obama. Clinton’s debt once totaled more than $20 million, although it had dwindled to about $250,000 by last year. That’s when a team of top Obama donors decided to surprise Clinton, and thank her for her loyal service, by raising enough money to pay off her bills. As secretary of state, she was forbidden from political fundraising.

So what do we think of this bipartisan immigration reform by the Gang of 8? I don’t trust either of the Republicans who joined in this based on their past behavior. We’ll see what happens.

    • 118 57andfemale
      January 28, 2013 at 3:14 pm

here’s my take: it’s a surprisingly good proposal but of course the devil is in the details.

Hispanic voters are very sophisticated, and methinks the Repubs are underestimating them. Obviously, Repubs are incapable of actually reading actual data: the polls of Hispanics consistently showed that their major concerns were economy, education and health care. Republicans are going to think they’re going to do something on immigration, and that will be all Hispanics care about. They will continue to try to screw them (and the entire middle class) on health care and education and meaningful jobs creation. I also read today that the Hispanic American population is very young – average age of 18. They are socially liberal.

So the Hispanic voting bloc is going to stay Democratic, and they are smart enough to understand when they are only being manipulated and underestimated.

          January 28, 2013 at 3:55 pm

Like I said, I haven’t looked at the details. However, there was some knee-jerk response, such as “Jan Brewer gets to decide when the border is safe”, but Greg Sargent said that wasn’t really true.

It’s a start for the conversation at least.
