Thanks Dudette! When I’m hanging out on the computer in the evening I get this little notification when I get a new email and sometimes that does the trick. It’s nice after a jumpin’ second grade day!
A fifty-ish woman was at home happily jumping on her bed squealing with delight.
Her husband watches her for a while and asks, “Do you have any idea how ridiculous you look? What’s the matter with you?”
The woman continues to bounce on the bed and says, “I don’t care, I just came from having a mammogram and the doctor says I have the breasts of an 18 year-old”.
The husband says, “What did he say about your 60 year old ass?”
regardless of what portion of which ideas eventually become law, we are certainly airing our views, debating our beliefs, and even dredging up some facts to inform the process. this is already progress; legislation will follow, then revision, then strengthening, then maybe someday we’ll say, remember when there were killings all the time?
“…and even dredging up some facts to inform the process…”
I love that; ironic and on the money. The silence and the No Discussion/We Are Right! days are over and gone. This isn’t easy and won’t be seamless or smooth, but a dam has been broken and we are flowing around the big sharp craggy rocks stuck in the middle of the river. Beautifully expressed.
What a beautiful woman Gabby Gifford is! Her smile lights up a room and her eyes are filled with light and love. When you consider how hard it is for her to speak and how much it takes for her to do this, her statement today was both courageous and heroic. She could easily have remained outside of the limelight, concentrating on her recovery and trying to get her life back. But she steps forward into a contentious arena and says, I have to do the hardest thing in the world because I care about this so much–I have to speak and speak publicly. It’s humbling to see so much strength.
Well said, JackieG! Although I am supposedly too old to cry, today I shed some tears, of both pain and joy, watching the beautiful and courageous Gabby summon all her strength to make a powerful statement that urges the people we elected to make laws to put the interests and safety of all of our Children above the interests of the gun lobby. Captain Kelly, Gabby’s husband also showed tremendous courage in his marvelous statement.
So there were just a few chatting on the last thread – i’ve got to learn how you folks spring into action when a new thread is posted. Am I always late – sigh
I love this! A beautiful moving quilt…. She is magnificent. Her husband is Mr. Right. President Obama shows his usual kind, wise, deep leadership, going to her in the time of sorrow, and greeting her with heart on the day of celebration in the Capital, and bringing her to the podium to say the words and be the advocate that only she can be. What a privilege to witness this. Thank you for this gathering of words and images.
Wonderful. If I can pull on your leg on last time if your not busy. How do you embed videos to WordPress. I tried a failed miserably. If its to time consuming (considering I am not the brightest bulb in the box) maybe you can help me in the future. But thanks for the links!
Bringing this over too. And more stupid……like Missouri. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/01/28/tennessee-wants-to-tie-welfare-benefits-to-good-grades/. Our very own Stacey Campfield. He was on Martin’s show yesterday talking about this and Martin had him tongue-tied for sure. He even said, “We’re not asking these kids to be rocket surgeons.” Isn’t it rocket scientist? Gees, he is stupid. Oh, he’s also the “Don’t say gay” senator and THAT bill is up again this session and is even taken further. New bill says if a teacher suspects a student is gay, teacher must turn in that student. I just have no words…………………….
Sorry for the Fox link. Martin did say yesterday after the interview that the entire transcript is on his website. Sicko, just plain sick and stupid and evil and…………
Thanks, Dudette for your excellent tweets. I really appreciate all of you TOD warriors on twitter. Most important, I am happy to know that you’re feeling much better.
I was wondering about that same thing. I also was wondering is the man who kill the bus driver and kidnap the 6 year old, is he any kin to the 6 year old,or did he just decide to kidnap some stranger. I have not got the full details of the story.
On my drive home a little over an hour ago, they said he was still holed up, but the law enforcement folks said that – as far as they could tell – the child had not been harmed. This is a terrible situation.
Where’s YA? that reminds me of an old Simon and Garfunkel song: “Hello Hello Hello Hello, Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye, that’s all there is, and the Leaves That Are Green Turn to Brown”… I KNOW lots of people here know that oldie! Had to come back after FB posting that incredible story Dudette linked, about training children in Missouri… I am flabbergasted, I tell you, flabbergasted! Love y’all!
Yup, never give the nutsos any platform even under the guise of ‘interrogating’ them. You can’t argue and win with idjits. It’s the fucking birther nonsense all over again.
Have to disagree. He exposed her for the stupid that she was. He ripped her a new one tonight. Exposed that she literally imagined a scenario that never really happened….you go to the Senate Committee to argue your points with facts, not imagined scenarios that only occur in your own mind.
It’s nice we can disagree and remain online friends. I don’t live in your country, so in many ways my opinion may be biased and not considering all the information. Thus said – I am very glad I live in a country where gun control is a reality.
The current issues in the US are not helping those in my world who would make guns more easily obtainable – and for that I am thankful. It also shows a silver lining in that there are some positives in the reality of US guns, which are not always seen.
Of course we’re friends:)! We don’t have to agree on all things here, but there IS a way to disagree and not be ugly about it…that’s what we DON’T do here….and we surely haven’t done that now. You see things from a different perspective than we do in the US….and your thoughts are always appreciated and welcome:)
Know this 99ts, though a skunk may look like a pretty cat to some, if it’s hiding under your house it has to be removed and exposed to the light. Then given to animal control.
I’m not trying to pile on you here but this is another thought. This dizzy biscuit has already been given credence by being allowed to testify at a congressional hearing. For some of the public this could give her some importance. By showing her up on national TV as totally bat guano crazy, it takes away most of her power except with the nutbuckets.
When I heard the soundbite of her testimony from this morning, I shook my head, wondering where this woman lives that she imagines she may have to defend her screeching children with an automatic weapon as 5, 6 or 7 strange men attack her in her home. Where does she live? What country is she living in that there isn’t adequate police support, or neighbors to help or locks on the doors? I understand there are home invasions, but really – this is a bit much. And… what reasonable woman is going to fire an automatic weapon, with 30-100 bullets, in a room while her small children are being traumatized with fear?
It seems to be the fever they’re all living under.
I heard a report tonight that some dolt went into a grocery store, with his AK-47 slung over hsi shoulder and did his grocery shopping. People freaked out, called he police, who came with eight cars and ordered him to put his gun down. They found a note on him saying he was exercising his First and Second Amendment rights. What would have happened if one of his crazed fellow trigger-happy gun owners had pulled out his vigilante gun to stop what he thought was a crazed gunman? Is that what he was trying to do?
Apparently, the gun nuts were thrilled with this event, and said we can expect to see more. They had some guy from an organization called “Open Carry” who said that carrying a gun openly is “wholesome” and their mission is for people to regard seeing guns in everyday situations as normal.
LO exposed her for presenting half truths and generating fears that existed in her head. Even the example she presented had nothing to do with automatic weapons. I watch the segment again and she had nothing but an appeal that women were not safe without a war weapon.
That was my take away as well sonjiaduncan. LO did an excellent job, IMOP. You have to see LO’s entire context of his questioning this woman. I saw her as I watched the entire hearing, and I could not understand her point. I could not understand when Sen. Whitehouse asked her what kind of weapon the lady used in the story that this woman used in the incident she spoke of. I came away thinking as she spoke that she would really know the type of weapon that was used. LOD did the correct thing, Exposed her. HZ
I concur with you 99; not only did he give her a platform, but by aggressively questioning her, he gave the rwnj’s a newsreel of a “librul beatin’ up a helpless little lady…”
It did appear that way to me Alycee – but I understand others seeing it differently. I think the gun nuts (what else does one call them?) will attack LOD for “not letting her answer”. She didn’t answer one question, she did a Palin by spouting talking points – but she didn’t get aggressive. LOD was very aggressive in the way he spoke.
Knock yourself out. I’ll watch from the side lines. Forgive me but I sense you’re looking for some sort of contest and it is not on my radar. I apologize if I’m wrong.
The salient word here is “sane”. The U.S. is neither sane nor civilized with respect to safety and controlling gun violence. Some of us are trying to make it sane and there is great resistance from those who want our country to be a Somalia war zone ruled by AK-47s and all manner of military weapons.
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will seek to institute some of the nation’s strictest gun-licensing requirements, ban assault weapons and restrict visitor access to schools in one of the most expansive government responses sought to last month’s school shooting in Newtown, Conn. Perhaps most controversially, O’Malley (D) will ask the General Assembly to force prospective gun owners to provide fingerprints to state police, complete a hands-on weapon-familiarization and gun-safety course, and undergo a background check to be licensed.
I don’t live in MD, more’s the pity, but I’m very proud of O’Malley. He’s a governor with a spine. I hope he and his legislature win this battle because it will become a model for the nation. One state a time takes a step forward and then slowly another follows. That’s how it’s done.
X2 – I especially liked Mark Kelly explaining who would have survived if the killer had not had such a large sized cartridge (hope that terminology is right – I know NOTHING about guns – except that they are designed to kill).
the irony of this, PF, is that Corbett, the Creep, and his right wing legislature won’t care. They’ll continue to forward their wing nut agenda, no matter what anyone thinks. These guys MUST go in 2014.
Thanks – it was cause LOD wanted to discuss the Barney Frank appointment – wonder who cancelled. Pundits get is soooooo wrong & simply ignore. Wish I could do that.
‘ U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez this month wrote a $58,500 check to a company owned by a South Florida eye doctor and political fundraiser to reimburse him for two personal flights to the Dominican Republic that the New Jersey Democrat did not report on his Senate financial disclosure form, his office confirmed to NBC News Wednesday night.
~
Menendez’s office confirmed that the senator — who this week became chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee – wrote the check to Melgen from his personal account after aides reviewed his flight schedule in response to a complaint that a New Jersey Republican official filed with the Senate Ethics Committee last November. The complaint alleged that Menendez violated Senate Ethics rules by “repeatedly flying on a free jet to the Dominican Republic and other locations” and that the jet was provided by Melgen.
“This was sloppy,” Dan O’Brien, Menendez’s chief of staff, told NBC News about Menendez’s failure to pay for the two 2010 flights at the time. “I’m chalking it up to an oversight.” ‘
I’ll worry about this kind of stuff when Republicans like Ensign and Coburn are prosecuted for their actual crimes. Menendez seems like an upstanding citizen, from what I’ve seen.
Me too. I don’t often reply because it takes awhile to rollover and stops the songs and videos, but I don’t mind telling anyone I’m a liberal. Thanks Duddette for posting that. Are you anywhere near the storms? We are getting snow tonight and no wind to speak of. Just hope it doesn’t snow in hubby. Yes, they mine coal here 24/7.
Thanks dear. Had some tough storms here in Atl. Sadly, a tornado took a life 50 miles nw in Adairsville today. Major damage there too. Atlanta is now under wind advisory until morning.
So, apparently dear Michelle Malkin was having a tweeting session about ‘truth’ because Gabby G didn’t WRITE the notes herself – her therapist did. The issues that Republicans choose to focus on and build a case around are always so insignificant (like naming post offices) when there is so much else of importance to be discussed.
Oh, I do 99% of the time. I was feeling a bit idle tonight when I followed the link mentioning her, and I must say the comments made the trip worthwhile.
“Let me get this straight. The guy that looks like an embalmed corpse wearing sunglasses is offering advice to other people? LOL.”
“Just off the phone with Michelle: She says Lagerfeld should eat his vegetables and pay more attention to his own hair. She says he should also lose the glasses and the dime-store necklace, file his teeth and get the hell back into his coffin.”
I read that commentary earlier, wondered who the heck Lagerfeld was and why he thought his opinion mattered, thought some uncharitable thoughts, then decided he wasn’t worth a response. As JackieG remarker yesterday, I think, some people just don’t know when they should slink discreetly into oblivion, when their ‘best by’ date has passed.
Crypt-Keepers Cousin who heads the Chanel design house… should’ve retired decades ago.
Wears glasses everywhere so the sun’s rays won’t cause him to burst in flames and most certainly can’t see his own reflection in a mirror.
Which totally explains his take on FLOTUS’s bangs – he can’t see. Wonder what made him think Michelle, or the world, was interested in his viewpoint? He did garner a little momentary attention for himself, though.
Well ya know — Sales are down and saying he loves her face 4 yrs ago* didn’t get her into his clothes, so he’s following the Teabagger Guide to Making Friends and Influencing People: “If at first you can’t dazzle ‘em with your bullshit, disrespect & insult ‘em in the media.”
Dudette we know what Karl Lagerfeld problem is. Our wonderful First Lady won’t give his designs the time of day. He has a right to his opinion, just like Michelle Obama, 49 years old, a intelligent lovely fine sexy grown woman has the right to wear her hair any way she choose. When FLOTUS ask Lagerfeld his opinion about her bangs then he will know that what he thinks matters to her. Till then she doesn’t give a dam about his opinion, just like she don’t like his clothing. Grown up Lagerfeld and get over it.
Lawrence ODonnell just said that Governor Patrick will have to defend and explain his choice of Mo Cowan!!!! He is an complete idiot!!! That was a stupid comment and it remains me of the Master Slave mind of some folks. ODonnell must be smelling his on draws!
Gov Patrick doesn’t have to explain anything to anybody. He’s the governor. He gets to choose whom he wants to appoint. Sometimes Lawrence goes too far.
I think he was expecting Vikki, but after the Republican SC Governor chose Tim Scott as the only AA in the Senate, I think Patrick made the right choice. It makes sense, albeit, I love Vikki Kennedy.
That is all…
I love Vicki Kennedy, too, and I hope she runs for the Senate seat. But, what a display of disrespect to the man who was chosen by assuming he was only chosen to be a token black in the Senate! What disrespect to both Mr. Cowan and Gov Patrick. The decision was made to pick the best person to serve five months, without jeopardizing the President’s agenda or winning the seat in the special election – and Gov Patrick picked the person he trusted, who could do the job. Did his race come into it – maybe, but I’m sure he had many, many reasons for picking this man for a seat that only 99 other people hold, and in this time of important legislation in the President’s second term. I just shake my head at the crap I’m hearing about this.
Concur also theo67. Gov. Deval Patrick is no ones fool. We will see what he will say on LO tomorrow. Plus, Gov. Patrick is very brilliant, and he is also very thoughtful of the people he is serving as governor. Gov. Patrick and POB are very close friends as well. I am sick and tired of the white men trying to have the black men explain to them why they are do what they do. POB and Gov. Patrick are no “little boys.”
Enough of this kind of treatment to our president. Sick of it.HZ
Yep. And TeaNN, once again, shows what they have become. They Never promoted Soledad’s Show. They undermined her, Whitaker, who just resigned. And they treat Minorities as second class professionals. TJ, Sanchez, Harris, Shaw, Reynolds, Nasir, etc.
Q: Dr. Harper of the InterMountain Christian News. And regarding religious liberty, faith issues, a lot of Christian churches want to know about how this (inaud.) relates to the problems we’re going through as a nation economically and otherwise that would believe that our religious faith liberties — faith and religious liberties and rights come from Jesus, not men.
CARNEY: I’m sorry. I didn’t get the question.
Q: Oh, I’ll rephrase that.
Basically, you know, the Christian churches in our nation are concerned about the moral decline in our nation and how, you know, faith and religious liberty issues in life are crucial, from the Declaration of Independence, and how that they would believe that our rights come from Jesus, not men. How would the administration respond to that?
CARNEY: Well, I’m not sure that I have an administration response. I would tell you that the president, as a man of faith, believes very deeply in the importance that it plays in his life and understands clearly the importance it plays in the lives of so many millions of Americans.
Yes?
These people who quote the founding documents in religious terms seem to have a different version than the rest of us. What about the Americans who don’t believe in Jesus or any religion, or who want to be free to practice their religion without imposing that religion on others, or who just want to be governed by laws – not the “christian” version of “Sharia Law”? Would they be happy to be governed by the religion of a President who practiced a religion other than theirs? These right wing nuts don’t realize that they are the Western branch of the Taliban. By all means, practice your religion as passionately as you wish – but recognize that not everyone else is of the same mind.
I want to propose Jay Carney to appoint an Assistant Press Secretary whose sole purpose is to bop people who ask him stupid questions square on the head with a nerf bat on national television. Followed-up by video commentary posted on the White House website explaining why that was a stupid-ass question. Kinda like the Bots who’d review old B-movies on Mystery Science 3000. Those videos should then be beamed daily to all journalism schools and high school civics classes across the country as negative case studies.
What do you think? There oughta be some rich benefactor out there who’d fund that!!
hey, i’d do it for free! in fact, we could raffle off tickets, and raise money to counter the nra’s moneybags. who wouldn’t pay to have a chance at that job?
I’m not sure what they’re saying, Mary. I believe in God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. And I also know that I would not want my life dictated by the likes of these right wing religious nuts, who give more credence to appearances of spirituality, but have no idea what it is to be spiritual. They seem to channel some type of dark energy that makes them blind to their hypocrisy and hatefulness. That stuff doesn’t belong in government of a group of people who come from all faiths, all backgrounds, all beliefs and non-beliefs. My two cents…
Love how he speaks for all Christian churches. Sorry fella, I think you’re in the minority here. Poor Jay. I think he gave an amazingly good response to an unexpected, incoherent question.
And, these sensible steps will go a very long way in reducing #GunViolence while trumping anyone trying to hid behind their ’2nd Amendment rights’ – they can have their gun and ammo, but they MUST conform to all the standards required of automobile drivers and heavy equipment users and manufacturers and, more, because a gun has ONLY ONE PURPOSE – DEATH.
Dear President @BarackObama the ONLY 'war' America needs to fight is a war won NOT with guns, but with EDUCATION. Ignorance is THE ENEMY.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) January 31, 2013
Good for you Bob in your continued tweets! They make a lot of sense and I’m proud of you. You are a person that makes the difference in helping your president and helping bring awareness of what you care deeply for.
LOD did verbally attack some woman who was at the Senate hearings, she was some menatally challenged fantasiing yahoo. I did like the tape he played of Mr. Wheeler, farther of slained child, in Conn. today. As LOD stated, Mr. Wheeler should have been one of those at the Senate hearings. The media needs to replay Mr. Wheeler over and over and over.
Good Morning! I’m looking in now, before dropping offspring at the train station to see who was on night shift….. and to get in an early ‘hit’ so CC won’t say I’m late when I check in later officially.

What is wrong with Leahy? He sounds extremely sick and he is chairing this very important hearing today? WTF is wrong with him, couldn’t he have stepped aside for the day and allow someone else to chair it? He belittled such an important debate and hearing.
With that being said, Gabby Gifford made me cry again with her statement, her husband Kelly seemed liked the only coherent person on the panel as well as the Sergeant. The other 3 were just plain idiots, especially the nutcase of a that woman and Lapierre. The only fun part was hearing that woman being laughed at about how she feels strongly the a womans weapon of choice is an AK15. Another GOP/TEABAGGER trying to make women look bad. Her testimony was pure insanity.

we’re obsessed with deficits because austerity measures, and stifling the economy, are proven ways to prevent growth and recovery.
and even though the rethugs did not defeat pbo with that tactic ( ) they still want to keep pbo from the kind of dramatic turnaround his policies would create without their shenanigans. because, freedom. or because they’ll never be elected again if people realize they are entirely, and exclusively, shit.
and the media won’t change the subject, because their owners are rethug 1%ers.

How fucking stupid is the #GOP when they argue simultaneously that civilian women need assault rifles yet military women can't be in combat?— 60th Street (@60th_Street) January 31, 2013
amk, Shirley Sherrod is a remarkable and courageous woman bringing lasting and positive change. Breitbart was an ugly, bigoted creep and that will always remain his legacy.
Jumping Obama on same-sex marriage is more sexy & attention grabbing than talking about guns for some black ministers @BlackEaglePower— Arrogant Demon (@ArrogantDemon) January 31, 2013
I just have to say and it’s been awhile, but it goes to the crux of what we are all debating.
Joe said the Economy contracted because Of US Government is spending to much and we are in debt.
No! That is a bold faced Libertarian Cut government spending Lie…
The Government contracted because of Austerity.
We may not be Greece, but we could become England.
That is all!
Gayle Trotter, the conservative activist who became the breakout star of Wednesday’s gun violence hearing in the Senate with her adamant cry that women need assault rifles to defend themselves, wrote last year that she opposed the Violence Against Women Act.
The reason, she said at the time, was the law would create the prospect of “false accusers” stealing taxpayer money by using shelters and legal aid.
On Wednesday, Trotter used the fear of violence against women to support gun laws that allow access to large capacity magazines and assault weapons in her testimony.
Newtown Children to Sing at Super Bowl
by Steven D
Thu Jan 31st, 2013 at 07:17:01 AM EST
Twenty-six kids from Sandy Hook Elementary will sing America the Beautiful at the Superbowl on Sunday. This was announced by the NFL yesterday. The number 26 is the same number of children and adults who were slaughtered at Sandy Hook in December. Apparently an anonymous donor is paying their expenses.
One of top Politico stories of the day tells readers that, in the wake of yesterday’s economic news, President Obama has a “GDP problem.” After noting that the drop in economic growth was “largely due to a drop in government spending,” the article adds:
Nonetheless, the politics are unambiguously terrible for Barack Obama … and it gave an adrenal jolt to the a GOP messaging establishment left supine by the Mitt Romney mirage and recent soul-searchy infighting.
Politico’s report added that Democrats “will try to spin” the news, but the party’s “narrative” is “not very convincing” and burdened by “weakness.”
It’s almost as if facts, evidence, reason, and a cursory understanding of economic policy no longer matters at all. In reality, the economy shrank a little in the last quarter because of spending cuts, but the party demanding more spending cuts has suddenly received “an adrenal jolt” — the Republican National Committee seemed inexplicably giddy after the GDP report was released — even though it’s now blisteringly obvious their agenda would undermine economic growth.
Any why are those who’ve been proven wrong acting like they’ve been proven right? Apparently it has something to do with whether D.C. media types are “convinced” by your “narratives.”
For those who still take policy seriously, and still believe a sustained economic recovery is possible, the facts are readily available: the people who seemed happiest yesterday by discouraging economic news have it backwards, and are pursuing policies that would make the problem worse, not better.
That’s not based on opinions and speculation; that’s based on the report the misguided souls kept touting yesterday without reading.
BREAKING: Consumer spending edged up 0.2 percent in December, income rises by largest amount in 8 years.— The Associated Press (@AP) January 31, 2013

Congrats Mary.
Woo! Thanks! Didn’t think I would make it! Glad to see you up there with me, carolmaewy.
I’m like the Pavlovian dog when I hear the ding on my iPad.
You are making this thingquite the habit, aren’t ya?
Well why not? Somebody’s gotta be first! Go Girl!
Thanks Dudette! When I’m hanging out on the computer in the evening I get this little notification when I get a new email and sometimes that does the trick. It’s nice after a jumpin’ second grade day!
Hi!
It’s only me, wondering what went on in the PBO interviews today.
CC, did you lose your way, again?
Hi, Maryl!
Nice collage, CC, old gurl!
Sweet and sad at the same time.
The clock is ticking
Just missed, congrats Mary and VC
Hi there, Japa. Nice to see you up and about – means you are fully recovered from your fainting spells.
Top 10 for sure congrats mary1.
Hey yardarm, thanks!
You’re welcome.
Very nice Chips. Thank you.
Before you guys get too intense.
A fifty-ish woman was at home happily jumping on her bed squealing with delight.

The husband says, “What did he say about your 60 year old ass?”
She says, “Your name never came up”.
That’s funny.
Thanks for the laugh Yardarm!
Priceless!
Ha! Now there’s a man who knows how to make women laugh (you, Yardarm, not that joker in the joke) ! Keep ‘em comin’.
You betcha jc!
beautiful post, chips. the time is now, indeed.

I like your analogy too, NRT. It paints a truly clear picture of the current process.
President Obama is pushing gun legislation AND immigration reform and his poll numbers are going UP! Something surely has changed.
susanne – Well said, and we’ll add, “Before Barack Obama was President.”
… a looooong time ago!
I can hardly remember a time when he wasn’t President, can you?
Good evening everyone.
Good evening!
It’s humbling to see so much strength.
yes yes yes.
Couldn’t have said it any better Jackie.
Wow, nice montage/collage, Chips! You always keep the posts fresh, interesting and inspiring! Hat’s off to ya, darlin’!
There you go, making me blush again! How are you doing Dudette, hope you’ve got over your miserable ordeal??
You’re a warrior, get yourself back to 100% health VERY soon!
Thx dear!
Congrats Mary1
Thanks!
So there were just a few chatting on the last thread – i’ve got to learn how you folks spring into action when a new thread is posted. Am I always late – sigh
Kinda feels like being the littlest kid at the Thanksgiving table of 20 ravenous relatives, doesn’t it?
Don’t feel bad. Happens to all of us!

She’s a true inspiration Nancie, as is her husband, wonderful people. Thank you.

Chips, I think you must be a genius. I tried using that software to create a composite and it ate my jpgs. I cursed loudly.
Rachel is good listening at the minute
Dragging this over from the previous thread, since it kinda relevant…
My reply – how to scare your children – brought to you by the NRA.
They really are despicable demon spawn.
That is horrible!!!!
I am sorry, but right wingers/teabaggers, have totally lost their minds! The only guns first graders should be exposed to are water guns.
Sicko, just plain sick and stupid and evil and…………
And the hits just keep on coming.
HZ, I answered you on the last thread. Hope you see it. ((((((HUGS))))))
Tnmtngirl, I left you a message on the last thread. I hope you will see it. ((((((((((((( Love you dearly))))))))))))))HZ
Last repeat…
Thanks, Dudette for your excellent tweets. I really appreciate all of you TOD warriors on twitter. Most important, I am happy to know that you’re feeling much better.
Dear, Sweet Nath — ever kind, ever thoughtful! Thank you so much! Gosh, I love my TOD Family!
Is there any update on the little boy kidnapped from the bus?
I was wondering about that same thing. I also was wondering is the man who kill the bus driver and kidnap the 6 year old, is he any kin to the 6 year old,or did he just decide to kidnap some stranger. I have not got the full details of the story.
Can’t find anything new.
On my drive home a little over an hour ago, they said he was still holed up, but the law enforcement folks said that – as far as they could tell – the child had not been harmed. This is a terrible situation.
It is.
The child’s parents must be going out of their minds, right now.
Praying for the whole family. Praying that man finds some compassion in his heart and doesn’t hurt that precious baby.
Passing through to give a big hug all around… Have a lovely evening all! {{{{{Chipsticks}}}}} {{{{{PBO}}}}} {{{{{TOD}}}}}
Hello, goodbye Pamela!!!
Where’s YA? that reminds me of an old Simon and Garfunkel song: “Hello Hello Hello Hello, Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye, that’s all there is, and the Leaves That Are Green Turn to Brown”… I KNOW lots of people here know that oldie! Had to come back after FB posting that incredible story Dudette linked, about training children in Missouri… I am flabbergasted, I tell you, flabbergasted! Love y’all!
Gotcha covered, sis!
Iconic Simon and Garfunkel!
Wow, Lawrence is ready for this Trotter woman tonight, on his show.
O’Donnell is giving the dimwit from the hearing a platform – NO-ONE should give this woman anywhere to talk
He is showing her up.
She just repeated the insanity over and over – I don’t think he did show her up.
lawrence has lost it – never argue with a fanatic – never
In one of the on screen tags it mentioned Trotter was a lawyer so I am wondering if she had some professional connection to the NRA?
LO is kicking some ass tonite.
I disagree – he gave her a platform – which she should never have had.
Yup, never give the nutsos any platform even under the guise of ‘interrogating’ them. You can’t argue and win with idjits. It’s the fucking birther nonsense all over again.
You gotta turn the lights on to see where the roaches hide.
Well, unless she’s a drug dealer…she’ll probably NEVER have that happen to her! She made it up out of thin air….
What is this world coming to? It’s very sad.
LO exposed her for presenting half truths and generating fears that existed in her head. Even the example she presented had nothing to do with automatic weapons. I watch the segment again and she had nothing but an appeal that women were not safe without a war weapon.
They’re deranged.
Probably the best explanation – although surely this one had to be a “paid supporter” of the NRA.
Yardam I would like to continue our Studio 54 dance off once I finish ironing my zoot suit. My jukebox is full of quarters.
Nice idea – much better than LOD
Yardarm owes me a song. I put in my request many, many, many nights ago.
Knock yourself out. I’ll watch from the side lines. Forgive me but I sense you’re looking for some sort of contest and it is not on my radar. I apologize if I’m wrong.
No competition here yardarm, no apology needed, just enjoying some good old classics and hearing ones for the first time w/ your playlists.
Maybe this can hold you over until he come back to the fold. Howlin’ Wolf – Spoonful
Legend!!! (and by that I mean, Mr. “Wolf” and you for posting him here)
Just for you Dudette, I know this certain lady may have a special place in your heart. Etta James – Got My Mojo Working
Awww… what a treat, lp! Thank you! This woman was a FORCE!
Amazing how one vile org can hold an entire country to ransom. This whole show is disgusting. This should not be even happening in a sane society.
A sane response – I assume he has the numbers to get it passed.
I don’t live in MD, more’s the pity, but I’m very proud of O’Malley. He’s a governor with a spine. I hope he and his legislature win this battle because it will become a model for the nation. One state a time takes a step forward and then slowly another follows. That’s how it’s done.
Unbelievable. The rethug/teas are loaded with a bunch of Stepford Wives and LO just exposed one of them.
Yep, spanked her bagger ass like she stole something.
Dudette, love your description of the LOD smack down. He tore her to pieces.
LO spanked her behind. I am totally upset that she came to that hearing without facts. And Sen. Graham and Cruz were no better. HZ
Missed this conversation…was on the last thread. I have not seen Lawrence on fire like this since his first couple of shows.
Chips, I enjoyed the “Gabby” themed threads all day. Bless her and her husband, Capt Kelly, and we are forever grateful for their courageous efforts.
Who was supposed to have Gov Patrick on live tonight? Did I miss it?
Yeh, LOD he was bragging about that yesterday. Was it earlier today instead of on his show tonight?
Thanks – it was cause LOD wanted to discuss the Barney Frank appointment – wonder who cancelled. Pundits get is soooooo wrong & simply ignore. Wish I could do that.
He just said Gov Patrick will be on tomorrow night instead.
thanks – I missed that
Oh, must have LOD who spoke too soon.
Or something just came up. The man is running a State afterall.
Yes, of course.
Yes, he did say that Gov. Deval Patrick will be on tomorrow, said LO.
now this

Lets take the word LIBERAL back. I’m proud to be a Liberal too!!
So sorry to hear that. Take care.
((((((((((((((((((((( Dudette, please take care and be safe as possible.))))))))))))))))))))))))))) HZ
Thanks Ladies!
That’s where I’ve been. How did you manage Dudette? I thought you were still fighting pain. I woke up to snow. The pretty kind.
Amen, Carol.
What an amazing testimony of that father in the hearings in CT that Lawrence showed tonight.
It made up for the rest of his show – a last word worth hearing
Yes
So, apparently dear Michelle Malkin was having a tweeting session about ‘truth’ because Gabby G didn’t WRITE the notes herself – her therapist did.
The issues that Republicans choose to focus on and build a case around are always so insignificant (like naming post offices) when there is so much else of importance to be discussed.
Ignore that deranged succubus!
Oh, I do 99% of the time. I was feeling a bit idle tonight when I followed the link mentioning her, and I must say the comments made the trip worthwhile.
Have to add that my mentioning her here has added a new word to my vocabulary – a succubus, eh? Wonder if she would think it’s a compliment?
Funny comments under the article:
“Let me get this straight. The guy that looks like an embalmed corpse wearing sunglasses is offering advice to other people? LOL.”
“Just off the phone with Michelle: She says Lagerfeld should eat his vegetables and pay more attention to his own hair. She says he should also lose the glasses and the dime-store necklace, file his teeth and get the hell back into his coffin.”
Ha!
Some guy on twitter is giving Nuggent an a whooping. It was shared on my FB page. Funny, but dirty.
Also Kerry Washington has bangs and she says the fashionable women are now wearing them.
Good luck with his sales strategy!
OMG, Dudette. You’re cracking me up. Literally LOL
FLOTUS don’t like your designs. Ha Ha Ha Grandpa. Wu on that, Jason Wu.
Four more years with plenty of events to attend, I think Karl Lagerfeld can kiss his chance of this First Lady wearing any designs of his good-bye.
That is all…
Last night he raved about Barney Frank – said he was definitely the new Senator – pundit wrong again – LOD needs to explain why he got it soooo wrong.
Booyah!
Barney Frank can run for the seat, if he wants it that bad. If not go retire and all these pundits shut up. The Gov. made his decision.
I hope Mrs. Kennedy runs because that Markey fella is not the one.
Agreed theo.
Bless you Theo! Of course I completely agree with you. LOD like Maddow always thinks they are the smartest person in the room……NOT!
Soledad O’Brien’s show’s audience was too ethnic?
http://hotair.com/archives/2013/01/30/report-cnn-execs-complained-that-audience-for-soledad-obriens-show-was-too-ethnic/
VC – please stay away from this nonsense. It will warp your brain.
Don’t worry, Theo, I never get wrapped up in these absurdities. I just peek in every once in a while, shake my head and move along.
They are completely unhinged, it seems. Just dip your toe in – don’t get sucked in!
No worries. Getting sucked in would require more energy than I’d be prepared to expend.
Ha!
CNN is going down the toilet FAST!
Have CNN gotten rid of Soledad. Do they mean her audience were to black or what?
Yep. And TeaNN, once again, shows what they have become. They Never promoted Soledad’s Show. They undermined her, Whitaker, who just resigned. And they treat Minorities as second class professionals. TJ, Sanchez, Harris, Shaw, Reynolds, Nasir, etc.
Ohhhhhh that’s gooooood!!
You find the best tweets Bob – not to mention make the best tweets – also too
If you think Obama or your government is coming for your guns then you are not mentally stable to own a gun….
Great response M. Naz.
Brilliant Tweet, Bobfr. Nailed it.
CARNEY: On the — yes, sir?
Yes?
Q: Is the GDP report good news or bad?…
LOL!
Goodness – I would sign up for that job!
Thanks theo.
Also: “endowed by their Creator”….doesn’t Creator =God=Jesus because of the Holy Trinity? Is he saying Jesus is not one with God?
I’m not sure what they’re saying, Mary. I believe in God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. And I also know that I would not want my life dictated by the likes of these right wing religious nuts, who give more credence to appearances of spirituality, but have no idea what it is to be spiritual. They seem to channel some type of dark energy that makes them blind to their hypocrisy and hatefulness. That stuff doesn’t belong in government of a group of people who come from all faiths, all backgrounds, all beliefs and non-beliefs. My two cents…
I absolutely agree. I was just trying to see the argument in their terms.
Love how he speaks for all Christian churches. Sorry fella, I think you’re in the minority here. Poor Jay. I think he gave an amazingly good response to an unexpected, incoherent question.
Thank you Chips – yet again – for enabling focus on critical issues.

Yes We Can
We love our Bobfr!
x100000000
Thank you dear Carla and Dudette, very much.
Yes We Can
Good for you Bob in your continued tweets!
Well, it’s after midnight, so in keeping with this new leaf I’m trying to turn over, I’ll just slip out the back door for now. Sweet dreams, everyone!
Nighty-nite!
Good Morning! I’m looking in now, before dropping offspring at the train station to see who was on night shift….. and to get in an early ‘hit’ so CC won’t say I’m late when I check in later officially.
Love Jody Watley! Here’s my favorite jam by her
Oh WOW! Flashback BIGTIME!!
Interesting
Deleted that one. Fixed it below…
For the Charlie Wilson(and Tom Joyner Morning Show fans out there — here’s a twofer: Charlie Wilson will be on Tom’s show for the In Studio Jam Session Thursday, Jan 31 (check your local radio stations or find one here: http://blackamericaweb.com/where-to-listen/ )

Heads Up Gladiators!! Today (Jan 31) is Kerry Washington’s Birthday!
Also…
we’re obsessed with deficits because austerity measures, and stifling the economy, are proven ways to prevent growth and recovery.
and even though the rethugs did not defeat pbo with that tactic (
) they still want to keep pbo from the kind of dramatic turnaround his policies would create without their shenanigans. because, freedom. or because they’ll never be elected again if people realize they are entirely, and exclusively, shit.
and the media won’t change the subject, because their owners are rethug 1%ers.
preaching to the choir, i know. i wish dionne would get real.
Tell it, dudette. EJ Dionne is too smart to ask this question. He knows the answer and should spell it out for the dimmer wits in the media.
Dudette – you are on a role this thread – what a fantastic tweet
Perfect tweet.
Sorry, I can’t help myself — Bwahahahahaha!!!
Via BJ – a great read http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal-a/2013_01/the_divergent_fates_of_sarah_p042718.php
The Divergent Fates of Sarah Palin and Shirley Sherrod
wahington monthly piece is a great read.
amk, Shirley Sherrod is a remarkable and courageous woman bringing lasting and positive change. Breitbart was an ugly, bigoted creep and that will always remain his legacy.
Good WINDY morning, OBOTS! Love the Shirley Sherrod piece above. Thanks AMK
Good COLD morning to all. Need to ‘hop’ in the shower and get ready for my road trip to see my mom. Prayers for safety appreciated.
Sent your way, tnmtngirl.
This!!!
Morning:) More from the loony tune that is Gayle Trotter
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2013/01/gayle-trotter-violence-women-guns.php?ref=fpb
This woman is full of alot of B.S. another Ann Coulter.

Apparently an anonymous donor is paying their expenses.
http://maddowblog.msnbc.com/_news/2013/01/31/16789587-diagnosing-the-gdp-problem?lite
Yup, I read that idjit glenn thrush pos and tweeted about it.
We’ve got fantastic news.
