I humbly bow before your presence Queen Vicki, congrats #!. Maybe I can join your court, at a high ranking level of Jester?
Congrats Vicki! Have a great day!
Just 60 seconds away from triumph, LovelyPlains!
Its almost becoming to demoralizing to withstand. Stuck around, now have to go in about an hour to stupid Campus for a stupid exam!
Ugh, an exam??? Best of luck LP!
You better not give any ‘stupid’ answers, LP. I’m excessively fond of ‘A’s…..4 U Good luck!
Thanks, this is going to require reaching depths of my brain that have not been functioning for years. Hope its graded on a scale!!!!
Well, isn’t it said that the brain rejuvenates itself when it’s fed? Reach deep, LP. (Can you tell *my* brain has scant science knowledge?)
It must be such a pain for Marty to sit through this farce.
Long time no hear or see. Been traveling all this while just got back yesterday
I’m pretty sure you’re not a man, but this is the song that popped in my head. Welcome back!
Or better yet:
LL from your post last night (Floyd:Wish you were here) wanted to add this as one of my favorites “Another Brick In The Wall”
Break down this wall!!! The next time Roger Waters tours “The Wall” I’ll have to try and go.
Now that song is going to be in my HEAD…..all day.
Welcome, Zizi! Nice to have you back!.
Great to see you Zizi, thrilled to have you back! I hope your travels were GREAT!
Certainly it was a welcome change of scenery. But part of the trip was to attend a funeral of my father-in-law. The event got so big, I came back exhausted. On the political front, t’was wonderful to tune out GOP & emoprog bleating for a while. Only problem is the politics raging in the country I went to is a carbon copy the DC madness. The opposition party, a conservative party with the same elephant as mascot, has decided to “make the country ungovernable” by challenging the recent presidential election results, which they lost by nearly 4%, at the Supreme court. Their argument is that the president was awarded an “undeserved” 1.3 million votes. This is after neutral international and local observer groups and global media ALL declared the elections to be free and fair, and after biometric machines were used to verify voters’ identities.
One problem is that the country’s constitution does not state a threshhold at which election results may be challenged (unlike the 0.5% norm here in the US), so the opposition party has decided to conduct mischief for mischief’s sake, and apply al-qaeda-style insurgency tactics, in their words “to deny the president any comfort zone”.
At the heart of their anger lies the exact same demographic winter that confronts the GOP, by overrelying on votes from just two out of 10 regions and solely pushing myopic ethnic politics. Now they realize the President cobbled together an Obama-like coalition that spans the entire country, including making substantial inroads into the conservative party’s base, to win the Dec elections.
so now they cry foul. I all but tore my hair out in frustration. So I ran as far away from GOP madness only to get soaked in wingnut crazy in another country.Uggghhh!
Thank you one and all. My fourth 1st! Feels good every time.
This is a remarkable community, I think. We are unabashed Obama Lovers and yet we stay informed about all the news.
I wish we had been together during the healthcare debates. I suffered alone when Lawrence and others kept saying DOA. None of my friends to this day!!!! seem to understand how tremendous and excellent Obamacare is. But here on TOD we do understand. Invaluable.
Ted Cruz is a noob trying to act as though he knows anything.
For Scandal Fans, this is a delightful interview. Ignore Tavis Smiley and just focus on the awesomeness that is Tony Goldwyn.
Yummy, UT! Thanks.
You dirty birdies!
Too funny, LL. Am I wrong in remembering that you’ve appreciated FLOTUS once or twice!

Head of UN inquiry into drone strikes backs John Brennan. Believes the chief architect will rein them in at the CIA. wired.com/dangerroom/201…— The lovely Plains (@DaRiverZkind) February 07, 2013
Thank you SO MUCH for providing this link. It confirms some things that I’ve always suspected.
First, John Brennan is an honest and careful man. Strong on counterterrorism, but not a foolish hawk. That’s why President Obama thinks the world of him. I’m pretty sure Brennan was disgusted with the whole torture policy of the Bush administration, but was trying to do the best job possible within the organization of the CIA. Had the “left” not freaked out four years ago, John Brennan would have been at the head of the CIA since the beginning of the Obama presidency and been probably more effective than Panetta and Petraeus (!) in aligning all CIA actions with the President’s policies and philosophy.
Also, the article makes reference to the fact that for the president and his team, keeping control over the whole organization of the CIA is a hell of a challenge. There are some entrenched powers there. Who knows what some shadowy little groups are doing behind the President’s back ?…
I just saw a clip from 2012 where the President himself even called for congressional action to reign in the military powers of this President and future presidents. It’s ridiculous for anyone to imply that the President is resisting or obfuscating in this drone situation. He’s the one who first publicly declared that the drone program is even taking place, and he instructed Brennan to explicitly declare to the American public that there was a drone program. This media sensation is embarrassing.
No problem, thought is was very relevant considering today’s hearings. Also the fact that this concern did originate in the UN several years ago, this seemed timely.
Pres. Obama was fantastic. I loved his “Come At Me Bro” moment to the Republicans and Democrats. Called out the GOP on their intransigence and double speak regarding the sequester and also told Democrats that yeah, he knows that some get mad at him and he’s sure he’ll read about it in the press. He was not smiling when he said that. Translation: “If you have a problem with me, grow the hell up and speak to me instead of whining to the gossipy press.” And the whole shout out to Nancy Pelosi! Awesome.

Thanks UT! That last comment about Nancy being speaker again is a real statement as to what President Obama thinks of Boehner – and his continuing hopes in the American people to do the right thing.
Thanks you, UT, and please, please please let that last presidential prediction come true. If Nancy became Speaker again in 2014, I’d take my aching back to the nearest endzone and dance a happy dance.

Valerie Jarrett and Arne Duncan will attend with FLOTUS.
Not smart. Think it was the LAPD chief who was just on CNN, talking about the former Navy LT/ex-cop who’s been accused of shooting on-duty police officers and is still at large. I think one of the officers was killed, so this is a deadly situation. First, the chief says he is NOT coming out to “clear the name” of the alleged shooter – and it’s been reported that the ex-cop said in a letter that he’s doing this to take back his reputation, wanting to clear his name. Not smart on the part of the chief, who did not have to use those particular words and who’s pouring more salt on the perceived wounds of a shooter still at large! Where’s the risk communication technique you must have been taught at some point, chief? Bravado is not going to help. Second, other police in the area apparently started shooting at a truck they only thought belonged to the shooter, apparently with no provocation, and now others are hurt. Any of us could have been in that truck. CNN says the truck that received the barrage of bullets by police was delivering newspapers. Of course, this is all early reporting, so it may change, but it’s an ugly situation getting uglier by the minute. Are there no negotiators out there who might intervene, even though I realize it may be too late?
Tjis guy was in Chino, not far from where I live. He has moved on to Riverside. He is everywhere.
Saying a prayer or two that it is resolved with no more injuries. I know the police come out in force when one of their own is killed, but somebody needs to keep a cool head in one of these districts (obviously, you know this already, COS). The police are not just supposed to take care of their own when something like this happens, but also do everything they can to prevent innocent “collateral” victims from being killed. Just thought I’d comment that I don’t like how this is going. At all.
So, if trained police can’t even get it right sometimes, then how are we supposed to feel comfortable with these 2nd Amendment folks saying they will “protect” the public against the police, National Guard, Military and government in the case of the civil war for which they seem to be preparing?
Yes, and those 2nd Amendment folks also remind us of the “other” side of the coin: Travyon Martin and other young victims of people with guns, allowed to walk among us as part of the “posse” that exists underground.
Excellent reminder, Jacq. Why are they allowed to defend themselves against their own perceived threats, but we can’t expect kids like Travyon, the Newtown 20, Hadiya to be protected against gun owners exercising their right to kill?
The eternal question for people with actual brains. Everybody else is worried about Beyoncé and her lip syncing, Pres. Obama’s new-found pot belly, and other big topics.
Congrats on first Vicki, welcome home ziti…thanks to everyone on all the news on this blog and tweets…off today and getting a lot done.

First Lady Michelle Obama will travel to Chicago to attend the funeral of slain teenager Hadiya Pendleton. suntimes.com/18075265-761/m…— Nerdy Wonka (@NerdyWonka) February 07, 2013
First Lady Michelle Obama is planning on attending the Saturday funeral services for slain teenager Hadiya Pendleton, who has become a national symbol for the growing problem of gun and gang violence in the city of Chicago.
Obama will be accompanied at the funeral by Valerie Jarrett, a senior advisor to the president, and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
It’s sad that she would have to go to this young girl’s funeral, because the girl shouldn’t be dead, but I’m glad FLOTUS and Valerie Jarrett will be going. I’m sure it will mean alot to the Pendleton family
Well said. And I think we all agree with you.
Ok…..can someone explain what’s going on in San Diego? A Naval base is on lockdown and it has something to do with someone named Dorner? Did he murder people, what’s up with his manifesto and is he linked to the cops who allegedly murdered innocent civilians today?
He is a former police officer that was fired and taking revenge……HuffPo has the story
He’s an ex-cop and former Navy LT – maybe San Diego was one of his old commands. Yes, apparently, one or more of the police officers he shot were killed. His manifesto talks about his being slandered and libeled following his service as a police officer and feeling he’s at the end of his rope. He says the police in the area (who used to be his fellow police officers) have not gotten better since the Rodney King days, etc. That’s just the situation in a nutshell, but I did write a little more about it upthread.
This man thinks that shooting former fellow officers is a way to “clear his name”? Surely there must have been some evidence of his extreme mental instability when he was a police officer. It’s sad beyond words that he was not given help a long time ago. Now a lot of innocent people are being made to suffer.
Exactly. Believe several years ago, he was also in Bahrain for six months as a Navy reservist. He claims he reported a white police training officer for abusing a challenged individual, and then was fired for making a false statement. Who knows the truth, but to do what he’s doing obviously means he’s highly disturbed and it’s been brewing. This is also unusual in that he was “inside” the police department and is saying nothing’s changed there since Rodney King. Unfortunate that he responded to his perceived wrongs this way, because maybe he could have done a little expose of his own about the inner workings of the police, but I realize he was not apparently in the right frame of mind to look for any more alternatives. He served his country, was a LT in the Navy, is in the Navy reserves, served during wartime, at some point became a police officer, and was fired for “lying.” Somewhere along that road, he lost it. Maybe, after the fact, his claims will be looked into. For now, hope he turns himself in, to a neutral party of some kind, because the police are already shooting first and not asking any questions.
Dorner is an ex LAPD officer who was dismissed in 2008 for lying about another officer. He is now on a rampage against LAPD and his other job as a naval reserve security officer. All our freeways have signs with a description of his truck.
And, the reason SD is on shutdown was because police believed Dorner was barricaded in a hotel room down there. Turns out it’s someone else.
Hope the police didn’t shoot first, as they’ve already done when another truck was mistaken for his, according to CNN.
Yeah, two newspaper delivery persons were shot down in Torrance. Their truck was mistaken for his.
They probably won’t be the last ones caught in the crossfire, unfortunately. Stay safe, all in that general area!
Definitely is rather frightening.
For our Angelino TOD’ers, LAist has great coverage of the cop manhunt.
This all started yesterday and it has intensified. Apparently he has a hit list of cops and folks who had something to do with him getting fired from the LAPD.
I don’t normally watch local news, so I had no idea about it until I fired up LAist this morning. On my way to work on the 405 I saw one of the electronic sign boards with the make and model of his Nissan truck; I had no idea what that was about until I got to work.
[I'm a tad slow today, didn't connect the killing of Quan & Lawrence to Dorner. Also why did the guy keep his LAPD badge & ID after he was fired in 2008? Thought you had to hand them over on the spot.]:
Dorner’s LAPD badge and an ID were found near San Diego’s airport and were turned in to police at early Thursday, San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick said.
Dorner is wanted in the killings of Monica Quan and her fiance, Keith Lawrence, who were found shot to death in their car at a parking structure Sunday night, Irvine police Chief David L. Maggard said at a news conference Wednesday night.
This is one of the rare cases where an AA man goes on a mass shooting rampage. Expect RWNJ’s to say “See, *they* do it too!”
Uh-huh! Only AA one in my memory (could be wrong) is the DC Sniper & his son. It was such a shock when they put his picture on the TV.

idiot protestors chanting: “reject John Brennan”
I think I’ll start calling Beyoncé “No Drama Beyoncé.” Now, PETA is going after her for not using a “humane vegan” substitute for the leathers in her Super Bowl outfit. Lip syncing, did she cause the Super Bowl blackout, she’s wearing leather. Yep, this is very important to our national experience and discourse. I can’t wait to get all the answers. Not.
Does anyone pay attention to PETA anymore? These are the same people who sent the President a fly-friendly flyswatter after he dealt with that pesky fly in his office. They do good work, but at times, seem a little over the top.
Feinstein looks like the leader of this group. She seems fair so far. She’s just doing the intro work. making remarks.
Brennan’s confirmation hearing is LIVE NOW. Also on MSNBC.
Saxby Chamblis talking like he knows anything about national security. Brennan knows what we face in terms of terrorism, Chamblis.
Good to see Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) introducing Brennan. Warner is a Senator of substance.
I never know what to think of Mark Warner. I’ve heard good and bad comments and been disappointed a few times.
WASHINGTON — Chuck Hagel’s nomination to be the next defense secretary remains on track despite Republican demands for additional information on his paid speeches and business dealings, the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee said Thursday.
The GOP requests dealt a setback to President Barack Obama’s pick, forcing the committee to announce late Wednesday that it was postponing a vote on the nomination. No new date has been set.
Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., chairman of the committee, said the requests were extraordinary for a nominee and Hagel had complied with the panel. He said he would move ahead with a vote as soon as possible.
“We can’t not vote because there’s dissatisfaction. That would be endless,” Levin told reporters. “We’re going to schedule a vote.”
Levin said he was confident that the Senate would confirm Hagel, pointing out that none of the Senate’s 55 Democrats oppose the nominee, two Republicans have announced their support and several other GOP senators have said they would not back a filibuster.
“His confirmation is very much on track to me,” Levin said.
“He’s been asked what no prior candidates have been asked for, way beyond what the rules of the committee are,” Levin complained. The chairman said he would respond with his own letter to the panel’s Republicans.
So either he heard our voices, or this was a ploy from the beginning to highlight GOP insanity.
I just want him confirmed. this has been ridiculous. SMH.
It’s astounding that they’re playing [political] games with National Security, rather than asking substantive questions if they have real concerns. We’re like sitting ducks with these people providing “oversight”, and I’m forever grateful that President Obama is the Commander in Chief. Congress needs to be cleaned out before another President is installed, just in case the next one doesn’t have as much integrity.
i have absolutely NO respect for the members of both houses of Congress. I despise them with a furor that surprises even me.
I feel the same. And the intensity surprises me, too.
I really think our voices made a difference!
So, why did Levin allow the request to stand, if the request went beyond the rules of the committee and were unprecedented?
aloha and good morning chips and tods!
has this been posted? the epa has a plan for addressing climate change, which will be released right before the presiden’ts state of the union speech. some were wondering if he’d touch on this subject again, as he did in his inaugural comments.
‘ The Environmental Protection Agency is set to unveil a plan to counter the effects of climate change.
The draft EPA Climate Change Adaptation Plan, to be published for public consideration in Friday’s edition of the Federal Register, is meant to guide the agency’s response to global warming, which it says is occurring at a rapidly increasing rate.
“Until now, EPA has been able to assume that climate is relatively stable and future climate would mirror past climate,” reads a notice previewing the plan’s release. “However, with climate changing at an increasingly rapid rate and outside the range to which society has adapted in the past, climate change is posing new challenges to EPA’s ability to fulfill its mission.” ‘

Okay, I will try to watch a bit of the John Brennan hearing. But I’m starting to lose it already. Example of my early thoughts: Sen. Feinstein, may I suggest that the “pageboy fluff” (oh, yeah, I had one) hairdo hasn’t been popular since the 1960s? It’s well beyond its prime, and is not a good look. Thank you in advance (long overdue) for CHANGING IT TO ANY OTHER HAIR STYLE AVAILABLE ON THE PLANET.
hahahhahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahahhahahahhaha!!!!! I could not wait for her to kick that rabble out! the hair is just too much for me to talk about.
Ha! And the camera keeps going back to her!
On a related note, someone donated a slew of old Los Angeles Magazine issues to the library this week. I picked one up at random, from 1988, and it had a cover picture of Ann Margaret in 10 lbs. of makeup. And her hair wasn’t teased; it was damned pissed off. God, cocaine is a hell of a drug.
What’s wrong with teased hair and 10 lbs. of makeup? Ha! We used to live our lives like that! (Somebody needs to tell Dianne … )
Hey, glad the “hoarder” dropped those old magazines off to you. Interesting!
JOB, you made me laugh. I’m not watching the hearing, but I was expecting you to say Brennan was being unfairly treated. When you mentioned the pageboy fluff..well you made my day. I needed that.
Ha! Jackie, we all need to laugh during this stuff, even if it seems inappropriate to the circumstances, to keep our sanity! I didn’t plan to, myself, but there she was. With the hair.
[Geez, these people just make up shit so often, I'm running out of grains of salt. ]:
White House press secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday that a report claiming that a replica Oval Office was being readied ahead of planned renovations in the West Wing were “false.”
“Reports about a replica Oval Office are false, and no one is moving from the West Wing,” Carney said at his daily press briefing.
Real Clear Politics reported that the government was building a new executive office for the president, along with other top-level staff members, inside the Eisenhower Executive Office Building near the White House complex. The story claimed work on a “nearly identical replica” of the president’s office was already under way.
they had to recess for a few minutes because the Code Pink idiots keep interrupting with their stupidity.
This is freaking ridiculous. 5 people from Code Pink have been yelling about Brennan and Pres. Obama. Screaming about Pres. Obama killing babies, screaming about drones, screaming about Pres. Obama killing babies in Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia. One with a sign “Brennan = Drone Killers.” Feinstein just cleared the room and they will resume in a few minutes without the Code Pink members in the room.
Brennan has a MA from UT, Austin in government with a concentration in Middle Eastern studies. He speaks Arabic fluently.
Good for Feinstein. These people don’t doing themselves or their cause any favors by acting like loons.
Sen. Feinstein had to clear the gallery, because Code Pink demonstrators wouldn’t stop being vocal.
hopefully those crazies don’t make it back in. ridiculous. SMH.
I am glad I am ignoring this whole thing today, because people like that would just piss me off. If they could those terrorists would blow Code Pink to pieces and it wouldn’t bother them one bit. They are to dam stupid to realize that other people risk their life, and other people are out their trying to keep America safe, so that they can have the freedom to act like dam fools.
THIS!!! Bunch of idiots.

Levin to press forward with committee vote on Hagel, despite GOP opposition – wp.me/p4HKM-18Wv— CNN Political Ticker (@PoliticalTicker) February 07, 2013
I guess he got that kick ass call from POTUS. SMH at these democrats!
Seriously. That thought shouldn’t have even entered his mind.
I like what Brennan is saying about leaks. Leaks by congress, the media, etc. about national security tend to harm our troops and those who are out there undercover, doing the job of keeping us safe. The leak about the CIA in Libya that came from Issa’s office was despicable.
The media, in releasing this drone story, also released information that the Administration had asked to be kept secret – the location of the CIA drone facility in Saudi Arabia. Apparently, the Saudi government had not wanted it known that they were providing a location and cooperation on the drone strikes. The media also released the proposed locations for future drone facilities. To me, this is no different than releasing the location of troops in battle. It’s like the media doesn’t even care!
they don’t. they are only interested in making money. that’s all. they are disgusting, low-life creatures.
I do not like Chaxy Shambliss. At all.
He is the ultimate chicken hawk. He stayed out of Vietnam because of “bad knees”.
Yep. Lots of “bad knees” (or missionary work in Paris) back then.
Well, I’ve had enough. “YOLO” – You Only Live Once – so I will catch up with y’all later, since I cannot watch any more of this hearing. Guess the two recent hearings were enough for me. This chicken hawk is signing off for a while!
By the way, the “hawk” part should come out of my reply – just a chicken, here! I’m no hawk.
I just informed an ex-military man what “klick” meant. He had never known! I feel all sorts of awesome.
And if the military can run on the metric system, why can’t we?
The military runs on the metric system? In this country? News to me, Mr. Awesome.
“Klick” means “kilometer”. As far as I know, the military judges all distance in kilometers. Which makes sense, since every other military in the world does so as well.
Indeed – as members of NATO, and operating in foreign countries, the US military probably realized fairly quickly that they better get on the bandwagon that the rest of the world adopted back in the 70′s.
White House: Daily Show 'more substantive' than other media outlets – The Hill's Blog Briefing Room thehill.com/blogs/blog-bri…— Alycee (@jazziz2) February 07, 2013
The ‘Colbert Report’ is more substantive than both of those. But i get the point. The media sucks major ass and PBO knows it and he’s making sure that they know he knows about it.
I agree with you……Colbert is much better……
Code Pink did a great job of defining the Drone opposition today, a bunch of whack job screamers. President Obama is the only adult in the room again in the realm of National Security.
Yup. When we should be having a substantive discussion about this issue which needs to happen, you have Code Pink defining the opposition as a bunch of hippie nuts. Thanks a lot. What exactly will that accomplish, except to further your childish view of the way to make progressive change?
That right winger wants to know how many high value targets have been detained and questioned, ignoring the fact that they’ve prohibited the Administration from being able to transfer those high value targets to the United States for detention, and have complained about them being given Miranda rights.
Rockefeller wants to know why the administration feels they are so unworthy that they can’t get information?……… um. okay, dumbasses, because you aren’t trustworthy. You run your fool mouths to any and everybody. Losers. :sneer:
looks like he’s talking the CIA’s secrecy about torture.
Sounds to me like the Senators are upset that their staff won’t be allowed to look at the memo because it means they will actually have to do some work themselves.
My thoughts exactly, especially when they’re talking about 300-page summaries.
We didn’t elect “the staff.”
why is everyone yammering at Brennan about torture? was he in charge of the CIA during the Bush administration? It’s like they want to hold him responsible for Bush and his cronies.
They want to hold him accountable for 9/11. Get that monkey off their backs, finally! Not gonna happen.
Rockefeller is whining. Why are they so mad at Brennan? Why didn’t they ask Petraues these questions when he testified even tho it was regarding Benghazi
they are horrible.
I love Brennan. He knows how to deal with these freaks.
Lisa, concur. Brennan is brilliant and he is not a “yes man” to these fools. I love him.HZ
why do they need the “raw analysis”—— when did these idiot committee members become well versed in reading and analyzing intelligence data? Are they for real? What, have they been watching too many spy movies?
[The GOP Savior, starring the Anti-Man, coming to a TV near you!]:
[.....] Jon Chait to raise an excellent point: “In order to purge a party of crankish and bigoted sentiments, you would need to identify what those sentiments are.”
[.....] Let’s use Rubio, the Republican “savior,” as an example.
Rubio doesn’t accept climate science, thinks the age of the planet is a theological question, and opposes marriage equality. Remember the Blunt Amendment that would have empowered employers to deny birth-control coverage to their employers? It was originally known as the “Blunt-Rubio Amendment.”
Rubio is part of a shrinking fringe that opposes the Violence Against Women Act, embraces strange conspiracy theories involving gun control, and thinks George W. Bush was a “fantastic” president.
Rubio tells teleprompter jokes while reading from teleprompters, has been caught lying about the basics of Republican budget policy, has suggested TARP recipients shouldn’t have to repay bailout money, and in 2011, argued programs like Medicare and Social Security have “actually weakened us as a people.” [.....]
I like Chuck Hagel but John Brennan is doing a better job defending/explaining himself.
Thankfully, it’s not a competition.
I am in a snarkalicious mood today. Not sure why.
Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) does not have the intelligence to be on the Intelligence Committee.
Given that Michele Bachmann is on the House Intelligence Committee, it seems that the bar is pretty low. These are the people who are supposed to be provide “oversight”.
Sen. Burr doesn’t have the intelligence to be a Senator.
The people involved in the Bin Ladin raid kept that secret up to the time they started telling Congress – who immediately started telling all the news networks. I don’t think anyone has to worry that someone in that close group of the National Security team is a source of leaks to the media.
so they are holding Brennan’s confirmation hostage until they get Benghazi papers. this is why I hate these people.
Senator Levin says these demands go way beyond the rules of the Comittee.
I wonder if those Benghazi papers will bring to life the people who were lost, and bring to justice the people who actually did the killing. There must be some awesome power in those papers, if they’re so important.
First Lady to attend the Chicago Teens Funeral!
These people “senators” provide me no comfort they know what the hell they’re talking about.
they don’t. they only live high off of our tax payer dollars. You or I can do their jobs better than they can.
Ron Wyden is a bitch. Why is he running around talking about Americans need to know the criteria in which they can be killed? um, heifer, the only criteria is being a terrorist! you keep talking about Americans being killed without adding the most salient point: THAT FUCKER WAS A TERRORIST. Goddamned fucking asshole.
Your blood pressure, Lisa, your blood pressure!
Don’t hold back Lisa…tell us how you really feel
I’m listening to randi rhodes. She says that Brennan quit the CIA over torture, but if you listen to the MSM you would think that he wanted and condoned torture.
It’s a sad state of affairs when I trust a radio talk show host far more than I trust the media. Do they bother to find out the truth about ANYTHING?
I fucking despise Ron Wyden. If I were president, he wouldn’t need to wonder about those criteria. He’d meet every one. fucker.
Wyden is pathetic. Even if you’re born on the National Mall in full view of The White House, the moment you plot terror acts against Americans you are a traitor. Al Awalaki gave up his American rights in the Fort Hood matter, the XMas underwear bomber event and who knows how many other atrocities.
Good luck finding any USA citizens who disagree with his assasination.
Wydon is a pig, backed up by all the other pigs questioning Al Awlaki’s death.
Based on Wyden’s framing of the question, I guess the people who died at the hands of police, governors who sanctioned executions by the death penalty, and those who follow the “Stand Your Ground” laws just never happened.
Back in a while with more.
I would not watch these hearings if I were you! This is the time for Senators to shine and be assholes.
Moreover, both sides want something from this Administration, even though Quid pro Quo is illegal!
The GOP wants Keystone to be approved, and the Democrats want the President to give them some attention!
charles pierce has an opinion on the time magazine cover depicting rubio as a savior:
My money’s on the fact that, sooner or later, Time is going to regret this one bitterly. The scramble in the courtier press to revive the Republican brand because some Republicans are going out of their way to claim that they’re reviving the brand is one of the more unseemly journalistic escapades of recent years. It is all about whether New Slogans will sell. It is all about the careful nurturing of Bright New Stars (see above) or Young Old Favorites (There seems to be a move afoot to rebuild Paul Ryan as the Giant National Figure he was said to be before Willard Romney picked him and Ryan turned into Sarah Palin with barbells.). It is not in anyway about the fact that, young or old, famous or obscure, any Republican is still wedded to extremist ideology on things like the economy and the environment and the rights of women, and that some little head-fake toward common sense on immigration is not going to be enough to achieve liftoff, no matter how much hot air you blow into his image.
