Holla!
You too LL, yay first!
Congrats LL,maryl1, Nena, PFWHI and linda for first place tie!
Oh and I forgot df too
It’s a record-breaking tie with 6 brave soldiers of TOD!
thanks. I am rarely first. was just passing refreshing to get an O-video to watch then there it was
Congrats LL.
Happy Sunday afternoon!
It now snowing in my neck of the woods…… ;(
.~*,~*,~*,~SNOW~*,~*,~*,~.
Oh yeah. My over dramatization. It has not been that bad this year. It is not a fluffy snow fall today. That is why I am not too happy.
That’s just Mother Nature letting us know that she is very much annoyed with Marco Rubio and how the MSM is hyping him for no damn good reason.
Hey
hi
Congrats, on being one if the six, GCL.
thanks. just refreshed page then boom there it was
me?
Holy Toledo, a 6-way tie!
That was quite a race – never noticed such a race before! LL, Maryl, Nena, PI, DCLinda, Desertfl. I guess Chips must have renovated and widened the gate while I wasn’t looking. Job well done, all of you!
just passing through posting then there it was – empty
Congrats DF, one of the six today,
I just want to thank everyone for all the well-wishes over the missus’ impending surgery. I can’t believe that in about a month we’re starting an entire new life.
best wishes for those big changes–you’ll get through it together, and find yourselves in a better place
We’re all pulling for you and your wife!
LL, I’ve been hoping to catch you and not only wish you both well (literally!), but also to recommend Peggy Huddleston’s healing meditation. You can find the DVD and her book on Amazon. I read the book, but the disc is all you need. There’s an interview on the DVD that explains all the experiments they did to come up with the meditation. I used it when I had surgery on both eyes in 2010. For the first eye I did as she suggested for the week prior. For the second eye I had the three weeks in between, and the doctor said after that she had never seen such fast healing. You do it post surgery, as well, and I think it would be especially powerful as your wife starts this new life. I found it so powerful a tool for all sorts of healing and changes that I still do it first thing in the morning.
Absolutely! We’re all excited for both of you
I don’t what your new life entails (missed that part) but wishing your wife well and a speedy recovery!
Oh, she’s having weight loss surgery.
oh! all the best for sure!
Best wishes LL.
LL, Good luck to your wife with her surgery.
LL! Congrats
Holy crap, a six way tie
Just noticed that! Must be a TOD first
PARTY!!!!
There was a guy that I saw on a music channel last night signing about Partying…..he had a shaven hair. That would be fitting now in a SIX way Tie.
Congrats, LL. I think I might have pipped you at the post, if I hadn’t had to stop my cat chewing the drive band of my spinning wheel.
Good West Coast afternoon Chipsticks and TOD family.
Congrats to all of the First place winners – especially LL
In a couple of hours…… Shoveling would be my task. I am NOT looking forward to it. I had planned a total relaxed day today. Now, my wish is Totally busted. ;(
Congrats to: LL, Mary and PFWI
My bad….The Number of FIRSTS have increased to 6.
GCL and DF, included……yes
I see speedy Chips dropped her mail and disappeared! Hope you are having a good Sunday, CC (as opposed to just a busy one).
6 WAY TIE! > 5 OT Louisville vs. N.D. last nite.

My family at the Inauguration – such a thrill!
Is it busy?
says it’s expired or we’re not allowed to view, Judith
Uh oh – probably because I tried to copy it from Facebook. Will try another way.

Got it! Good looking family there!
Thanks for posting. I couldn’t figure out how to get there.
Good afternoon everyone.
I heard there was a six way here?
Bad girl!
LP, you sure know how to find the links. Thanks, I’m off to watch this before passing it forward.
Thanks VC, its about 20 minutes, but some good informative background on whats left out of MSM discussions.
Okay, this slowpoke is done watching, but I wish i knew how to separate the gun money info (up to the 18:34 mark) from the rest, only because most people won’t want to watch the entire thing. I usually try to restrict my sharing to short videos, because unless it’s PBO or MO I don’t usually watch long videos.
Ya, its like their weekly version of 60 minutes, but the whole video is on 25min. I dont have software to cut and edit videos. I’m sure AMK, Chipsticks, or some TOD’er could link some freeware program. I could use one myslef!
more hypocrisy from the “family values” crowd….he should be ashamed of himself
http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2013/02/10/cardinal-mahony-used-cemetery-money-to-pay-sex-abuse-settlement-they-took-it-from-people-who-had-no-voice-the-dead-they-cant-react/
That is so sad and so sick. No one should listen to anything the Catholic says about what our govt. should do. I’m glad it’s out in the open now.
Hi everyone! Sitting under hair dryer @ salon. Thought I’d check in. Silly me 4got 2 charge phone – so juice is low. [smacking my head]
Anyway I’m all hyped about the Grammys tonight! FLOTUS is up for Spoken Word (and Ellen DeGeneres in same category)
They just can’t stop competing!
See ya later!
Hi, Dudette! We’re all excited for the Grammy’s here, too! Have to run to the store now so I can get my shopping done so I can plop my ass and watch the whole thing with no interruptions! My daughter and I will be glued… now remember, CBS says no boobs, no butts tonight
I can’t wait to see who breaks that “rule” first! Seriously…now they get told what they can and can not wear? FREEDOM!!!! Have some fun roasting under that dryer….you’ll look stunning for the Grammy’s though
No genitals either—-so—-no fun at all!
No GENITALS???? OMG! Where’s the fun in that?
People purposely TUNE IN to see the outrageous attire….maybe if they lose some $$$ they’ll get a clue that they can’t tell people what to wear!
LOL! Thanks df! I do look rather fetching after my paint and spacking session this afternoon! It was a major undertaking though. Thank goodness for professionals!
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll have to sneak a peak on iPad. I’m sure we will be watching a movie.
Hair salons are never open in my little town on Sun. or Mon.
I don’t think I’ve sat under a hair drier since I was 18! Not that long go, I guess.
Well I’m in a suburb. But really lucky to find a good stylist who works on Sundays. Works great for me.
Great.
A certain blog is featuring an article headlining a quote by MHP: “Obama Administration Has Institutionalized ‘Perpetual War’ “. MSNBC has gone off the rails.
Yes they have, that’s why no one bothered to watch the President’s inauguration on that channel.
Umm no. That was Bush who institutionalized Perpetual War. PBO is the guy trying to end it. I know the media is lazy and useless but is it too much to ask to report who exactly is doing what?
War is a response to conflict and aggression by one or more parties. It’s not like President Obama is running around picking fights with other countries. In fact, many countries are angry with him for not picking more fights! The likes of MHP continue to discredit themselves, and make me wonder why people should listen to someone who is clearly less wise than themselves.
I have four words for Melissa H. Perry……replace her with Joy Reid. A class act who knows her job. I guess that is more than four words. Sorry!
Clint Eastwood is being interviewed at Pebble Beach Golf Course on CBS. He is not talking to a chair.
Eastwood is very, very subdued.
Eastwood said this week that he is VERY unhappy with Congress
Welcome to the club!
Why do people continue to listen to the likes of Clint Eastwood and Donald Trump after they’ve completely humiliated and discredited themselves? It just rewards their bad behavior. There should be a price to pay when people do such dastardly things.
Dirty Harry will always be remember for the fool he made of himself at the Republican Convention.
If you’ve got time today or whenever – if you don’t, bookmark this – you must watch this. It’s a discussion at David Axelrod’s University of Chicago Institute of Politics brain trust about election 2012. Quite fascinating insights.
ooo thx UT! will do
I’ve been home sick this weekend, so I’ve had time to watch a lot of stuff. I watched this and it was very interesting. Some of the operatives from the Romney campaign seemed more straightforward than others, but it was still quite refreshing to see a calm reasoned discussion of the campaign. Continue to look forward to the offerings of Axelrod’s Institute of Politics.
Rogers: “Plenty of oversight” on U.S. drone policy
House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., defended the White House today, saying they have been forthcoming enough about U.S. policy regulating the use of drones in counterterrorism efforts.
!! linky?
I believe Poway is in San Diego County, generally considered a high earner area. Where do 12 year olds get guns – LEGALLY?
Yes Poway is just north east of San Diego proper. Middle class area, generally good schools.
The guns were his parents and they were locked up and secured when police arrived. His parents are shocked and sound like good parents. Kids today deal with conflict, anger and stress in violent ways. Guns are easy, talking is hard.
I was listening to an NPR program this morning where they were talking about the effects of technology and how it’s making kids today not be able to communicate or resolve their conflicts. That parents need to make sure they have some discussions in person with their kids, so kids can remember that there are real people behind the communications, and that there may be opposing views from there’s that have to be considered and dealt with in order to effectively move things along.
“Sounds like good parents”?
Why do they have guns….that many guns in the house? Go hunting for dinner, maybe?
I just don’t get the disparity for the “middle class, generally good schools as opposed to the kids who live in the inner City”
There would be no need for talking if the guns were not in the homes.
I am shocked that they are shocked!
Romney country. The thought of the violence and misery that this kid was willing to perpetrate so soon after Newtown just makes me ill. Thank heavens for the vigilance of the authorities!
Theo67, I feel the same way. The parents should explain why they have that many guns in the house. Because it is their right is not good enough…..
You can’t have your guns and cake, too. If the kids are dealing with anger and stress issues the parents need to get the child some help AND get rid of the guns until the issuers are dealt with. Why should other children’s lives be in danger?
Exactly! This is why gun regulations are hampered – because the people who need to be governed by those regulations think they apply to other people, and not to themselves. This is the classic case demonstrating why the NRA and their Second Amendment nonsense is so detrimental. Tell us how those guns in that home are part of a well-regulated militia, whose duty is to secure the tranquility of the country? If they want to point to the Second Amendment, then they should point to the whole thing. The only real way to limit this violence is to take all the guns away, but since that would cause a civil war in this country, then these guns should be as severely regulated as the consequences, and the punishment for taking a life should have dire ramifications.
Grammys tonite. Tribute to Bob Marley!
Really? That’s nice.
Thanks for the heads up.
Tracking gun violence in America—–an average 86 people per day are killed by guns.
i’m glad nbc is doing this–however they slant it, and however folks react, it keeps the subject open, urgent, and in play.
http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO For the SOTU, we stand with our President. Not around much today, but thinking of you all, and will be lighting candles for LL and Mrs LL. Blessings everyone!
heres the link for the Grammys.. they’re doing songwriters, etc.. now: http://www.cbs.com/shows/grammys/live/
Cheney says Obama Nominees are second rate Citizens.
What does that even mean?
Puts Chaney at the level of a 99th rate citizen – probably lower.
I say Cheney is a treasonous bastard and belongs in jail! Fuck you, Dick. He ought to know what a “second rate citizen” looks like…that would be a step up for him. Maybe something he could aspire to.
“Fuck you, Dick”…with red hot curling irons….!!!
at least….to add insult to injury, the fact that HE got a heart transplant and my incredible mom died waiting for one, is just more reason for my hatred of this puke.
df – that really does hurt – watch the grammys and forget this horrible man
I plan on it !! Good music… Bring it on!
Yeah! Marley tribute..
“Don’t worry ’bout a thing, cuz every little thing gonna be alright!
Just read that Esperanza Spaulding won for Best Vocal Jazz recording. Love this young woman!
{{{{desertflower}}}} Dick Cheney will meet his karma one day, and it won’t be pretty. He’s got a lifetime of evil living for which to atone, and it’s clear that he’s terrified of death. He’s a coward.
Thank you, theo. I’m absolutely certain that you’re right…karma has a way about it like that, doesn’t it?
cheney and his minions have a lot to answer for, much more than mere humans could provide justice.
Your mothers in Gods hands now, desertflower. 👼
true theo!
I was thinking of branding him, guess that’s the West talking! Deferment, wimp. I’m sure Lynn could have taken care of herself. I did.
Hagel..second rate citizen compared to Dick Man?! Lets have a discussion on that.
Ha! Ha! Ha! That is very funny coming from the likes of Dick Cheney. Chuck Hagel went and fought for this country, stick have proof of that in his chest. And Dick Cheney did he go fight for this country? Now who is the second rate citizen, you ask?
Second rate citizens because their first choice is not war, for you see Chuck Hagel know what war is like, he has been in the mud on the battlefield, he has seen the blood sweat and tears. Unlike Dick Cheney who ran like a sissy from war, who loves sending someone else child to fight, who sat in office building making decisions to send some one else child to war, but he didn’t go fight. This old foolish evil man ought to be some where living out the rest of his life in peace, comfort, and silence, but not good old Dicky “torture” Cheney. He’s a disgrace to this country.
At least GW had the sense to stay out of sight for a little longer. Did he really paint his legs in a bathtub?
Anniebella, I wouldn’t give that creepy old man Cheney the dignity of listening to him. He is and always has been a human blot on the American landscape.
It means that he is an idiot!
Sounds like a cesspool. I’m not sure how I feel about bodyguards who were charged with safeguarding Petraeus’ life, instead working to bring him down. The fact that the CIA were withholding information from Petraeus, no matter how scummy he is, endangered national security and cost four Americans their lives. The whole place needs to be cleaned out. Those guards shouldn’t be trying to dictate policy by withholding information. It’s just wrong.
yes, and notice they’re now trying to bring brennan down with this ‘inside info’. most telling line was their contention that the leakers were unhappy with the chain of command–i.e., nobody asked their approval for operations.
The article was clear as mud to me. I question everyone. It’s a short 83 page e-book. Sounds like it was put together fast and who are these guys and how much truth has there been in these stories printed on web page. It started with the FBI looking into the emails, CIA didn’t start that. Unless I missed something. There was a CIA outpost near the Consulate. Why didn’t they know there were stepped up attacks? I thought they were spies? And two contractors were protecting the CIA outpost, not the Consulate. I’m as confused as I was when it happened. I only trust the Pres.
I know its a UK paper but who owns the daily mail – murdoch? it seems to me that the authors are writing their book largely to defend Gen Petraeus – possibly because of their millitary background and possible loyalty to him. They seem not to side with PBO’s new nominee to head the CIA
Who owns the publishing company of the e book and who advertises on their website. I didn’t notice any when I glanced t. I’ll have to go back. The special forces guys must be looking for big money after all their hard work and not getting paid like the Blackwater dudes.
still tryin to derail PBOs agenda…..by disparaging his choices…how many of his fellow DEMS are in PBOs corner…
I am not sure… I think the President has very few Friends on Capitol Hill!
I think the president has plenty of friends on Capitol Hill. We just hear from the noisy malcontents who want press time. I have to admit, I might be losing some respect for Navy Seals and other special ops because of some things they do and say after leaving the service. If what the Mail says is true…..that source is often questionable.
One interesting paragraphin the Mail article talked about unhappiness within the CIA because Petraeus wanted it to be a paramilitary organization instead of intelligence gathering. I know the President has been trying to rein it in and bring it under control. It had gotten WAY out of control under GWB.
This president can understand the intelligence briefings he gets every day, and actually reads through them and asks intelligent questions in contrast to GWB who just wanted a one paragraph summary once or twice a week. We have a friend whose brother knows this.
We as a country are fortunate to have survived GWB.
Yes we are. I thought Iraq would lower us and it did. PBO is slowly turning things around. If only he had help. I don’t like the mercenary system Cheney set up when he was Defense Sec. He’s the one that set up the rules for contractors etc. the service members get paid low wages so they can keep their cost low and then Cheney built Halliburton to be one of the only companies in world who could fill the needs of the military at war. Dirty rotten scoundrel. So ashamed he is from WY. Between him and ole Al Simpson and all the other worthless idjits….grrr.
Speaking of friends on Capitol Hill – I am working hard to send a true friend to the U.S. Senate: Congressman Ed Markey. We had a conference call with the Congressman tonight and I was so pleased to hear him say once again that he is running for the Senate to help carry out President Obama’s agenda. It will be another special election, but OFA and the people from the Warren campaign are coming together to send this truly progressive Democrat to the Senate.
Make it so, hgerhard! We need him there:)
I didn’t think he was going to resign until John Brennan told him too. I don’t trust Petraeus. I thought he gave Susan Rice the talking points to keep the CIA details quiet. I smell dead fish or rat or skunk. The article was very poorly written. Reminds me of the headlines on a tablet paper and there’s nothing worth reading on inside.
Will do what little I can.
I like Ed Markey very much. I wouldn’t mind donating to his campaign.
Josie, I dom’t think it’s about the President’s lack of friends on Capital Hill. The way I see it, the only people the media are interested in are those ready and willing to bash the President. It doesn’t matter their party affiliation or ideological bent, so long as they dislike the President, the media will cover them extensively.
Nathkatun7, “It doesn’t matter their party affiliation or ideological bent, so long as they dislike the President, the media will cover them extensively.”
Powerful thought for those who really care and support President Obama, ” We will have to be those who will cover him ourselves by
putting ourselves out for President Obama. We have to do the tweets, we have to do the calling and emailing to those Senators, and Reps., and cable stations when we hear these contradictions concerning our President Obama. Let this be a goal for us this second term.
Thanks for the word, Nath. HZ
” We will have to be those who will cover him ourselves by putting ourselves out for President Obama. Yes Indeed HZ! That’s why I value TOD, as well as other pragmatic sites like POU and TPV, so much. That’s also why I value prolific TOD twitters like Bobfr, Utaustinliberal, Amk, Meta, LL, Donna Dem, hopefruit2, Chipsticks herself, and all the other brilliant TOD twitters that are too many to list. We must stop expecting the mainstream media to do the right thing. I am convinced that most of the MSM are deeply disappointed that President Obama was re-elected. They seem determined to do everything in their power to derail his second term. As you so eloquently said, we must not allow them to succeed in their nefarious plans.
Thanks HZ, for all the wisdom you share.
wow is anyone watching 60 minutes? They just did an expose on the credit reporting companies ~ they all sound like crooks!
Yes, I saw that. Agree, crooks all.
it’s recording…
you’re gonna love the Lincoln movie article too! it’s awesome. I gotta go see this film
You must! It is great.
Slightly off-topic but what political persuasion are people who play and dance to polka music? Was watching Mollie’s Polka party(don’t know why) and was observing the couples dancing in a gym like setting to polka music. Have any polka musicians been nominated for Grammies?
lawrence welk?
Lol!
He had accordions.
and tiny bubbles…..
And the Lennon Sisters. I think he had at least one accordion. And one and a two and …… The one and only time my parents hired a babysitter for me and my brother was when they went to hear him play at the Corn Palace. I can’t believe I revealed my secret.
Lawrence Welk was the bane of my younger teenage existence, because my mother loved his music. I think it was on TV the same time as “The FBI,” or something, and I harbored a grudge against him for eons and thought she was the weirdest person on earth. No such thing as DVRs at the time, so my sisters and I always missed our show! Argghhh.
I know. I didn’t like it either.
I learned to polka in grade school. Forgot everything I knew at 18. It has origins in German Folk. Think Oktoberfest. It’s fun, if you can understand the caller. It reminds me of the fair, so wherever Germans started farming, that’s where you would find them. It’s popular around here too. So maybe it’s crossed into cowboy.
polka was fun, when i had the energy for it! i think you’re right about it crossing into cowboy–the mexican music using accordions often has that polka rhythm, and it’s danced to very similarly in small town fiestas (from my experience long ago in new mexico).
We have things in common all over.
so true– the human family!
Hadiya (RIP), update: two people of interest taken into custody in connection with Hadiya’s murder.

globalcitizenlinda, Let’s pray they have the right people and they rot in you know were.
FLOTUS is gracious even when losing. She’s awesome.
True class from head to toe…take notice young folks!
Great reply Dudette – Flotus is exceptional
I second what 99ts said Dudette. FLOTUS is a winner in my book too.
Yes, she is a winner in our book too, anniebella. You are so right. You know why? Because we see” the winner” in ourselves and it makes it so wonderful to recognize “the winner” in another beautiful soul.
What a wonderful time to know that we here made the choice in 2007 to following these beautiful winners, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle R. Obama. HZ
Beautifully said HZ! {{{{{HZ}}}}
Well done, Dudette!
Thanks J!
CNN reporting tornados hits hattiesburg miss 4.59 pdst
tts pst 4.59
hope everyone will be alright….
whoa
yikes– i hope the person filming gets back from that big glass window.
How did the Congress people from Mississippi vote for the help the people of New Jersey and New York were seeking for Hurricane Sandy? Now it will be very interesting to see if Mississippi seek any help from the Government?
Let me say after asking that question, I hope no one was kill in the tornadoes.
univ of southen miss alot of damage
Oh no!
Wow! Blizzards in the northeast and the DAkotas and Minnesota, tornadoes in Mississippi….and people don’t believe in climate change???!!!!
They’re in denial and/or misinformed.
Those Dam Republicans!!!!!!!!
well I thought cbs was actually live streaming the awards.. but it seems it all behind the scenes stuff. Does anyone have or know of a livestream to the Grammys?
Grammy.com has the same backstage stuff streaming going on:
http://www.grammy.com/live
But they also have a liveblog:
http://liveblog.grammy.com/Event/GRAMMY_Awards_3
Yeh, that’s the backstage stuff (which is nice) that’s also on grammy.com, but it’s not the broadcast of the show.
Well that sucks! It was a valiant effort Dudette, we rise and fall together?
Indeed lp! We rise and fall…then rise again and move #FORWARD!
oh thanks Dudette, I wanted to watch the actual show.. I guess that doesn’t get live streamed.
There’s bound to be snippets on Youtube soon.
thanks.. hope so
Watching the Grammys and OMG…Kanye West needs to run up on Taylor Swift again because her performance is embarrassing. She appears to have lost touch with reality.
I never could understand why she has won any awards. Who pass the age of 12 listens to her anyway? None of the high school kids that I teach mention here. She cannot sing and when she tries you cannot make out most of the words, and the songs that I have heard sound the same. Why does she have a career?
ADELE WINS!!!!
Would it be too much to ask people to write SPOILER ALERT before results are posted on East Coast time? TIA.
Oh sorry. Assumed it was live everywhere. Will keep my celebration to myself.
You don’t need to keep it to yourself. Just write SPOILER ALERT and we can skip over the post!
Okay.
Or I could just get off the internet. Yeah!
I’m kinda struggling trying to figure out what I can say that wouldn’t be a spoiler.
I’m stepping off. Go for it!
So POTUS will be going to Chicago on Friday to speak about gun violence. I can not believe that Joe Walsh, that ex-Tea Party Congessman from Illinois were criticizing the First Lady cause she attended Hadiya Pendleton’s funeral. That deadbeat Dad has got some dam nerve. He doesn’t give a darn about any of those people kill in Chicago.
Joe Walsh can go crawl back into his deadbeat, loser hole. FLOTUS is sooooo NOT thinking about what that creep has to say.
“FLOTUS is sooooo NOT thinking about what that creep has to say.” And neither do most of us!
Well, hopefully, the good people of Chicago will never vote someone like Joe Walsh into a position of power again. Now we are stuck having to hear his worthless opinions.
Thank you Dudette and theo67, I agree.
And do we pay him anything? Idjit!
I am remembering why I have skipped the Grammy’s for years.
Fashion note: I see Jennifer Lopez was channeling Angelina Jolie.
Why?
Angelina wore a black gown that had a leg long slit in it. She was mocked by many comedians because of how she posed in it. J Lo’s dress is in a similar style.
No, no. I get the JLo/Angelina thing. I was wondering you didn’t like the Grammys. Not enough of the music you like?
I like that it’s a bit of a smorgasbord. A little something for everyone!
For whatever reason I’m not into the Grammys.
I think they’re a lot of fun! Love musicians—-they so love what they do.
It’s Music Christmas!
** Spoiler Alert ** I lurvs Miguel’s song “Adorn”
The President needs to make that same call to all the so-called “news” networks. They all keep telling us the opposite of the truth.
bah haha
Yikes! is right. And Unbelievable! I don’t understand these gun nuts at all. Something is missing from their brains.
They are not normal. And I’m can’t believe we have to live in the same world as those people.
So true.
no…cannot stand….truth….!!
Grammy update: Justin T. with an assist by Jay-Z was slamming.
Fashion Note: Kelly Rowland’s outfit was a big FU to the CBS old foggies.
Oh I missed it, trying to get my wifi working after my stupid computer decided to take 75 updates and automatically reboot in the middle of the freaking Grammys! Arrrgh! I hate computers!
Please don’t hate computers, Dudette, cause then I wouldn’t be able to enjoy you , your posts and ypur musical posts!
Thanks VL! Just a little rant! I wouldn’t have a job without ‘em either!
#StopRush (twitter bomb has been underway for an hour)
btw, twitter is choking on #StopRush & #Grammys …
the “Stop Rush” campaign has made an impact on his bottom-line
In_DEED!
with yez on that Bob ~ Rush is a canker on the hinder of humanity
Keep hittin’ him! I want to see Rushbo like he was hoping PBO would.
… Rushbo FAIL like he was hoping PBO would.
one question that has been on my mind:
if the members of the NRA say they have a right to buy as many guns as possible because they are “law-abiding citizens” then why do they object so much to registering their guns?
could it be that some are in fact part of the ring that buys many guns and sells them to those who go ahead to use them in crimes.
could some members of the NRA be selling theit arsenal across the border in Mexico causing huge gun violence?
They might not be able to read. They probably don’t want to spend money on a fee either.
What is the difference between girls / women aged: 8, 18, 28, 38, 48, 58, 68, and 78?
At 8: You take her to bed and tell her a story.
At 18: You tell her a story and take her to bed.
At 28: You don’t need to tell her a story to take her to bed.
At 38: She tells you a story and takes you to bed.
At 48: She tells you a story to avoid going to bed.
At 58: You stay in bed to avoid her story.
At 68: If you take her to bed, that’ll be a story!
At 78: What story? What bed? Who the hell are you?
I see that from 18 onward, the man in the story only has one thing on his mind, until his mind goes, of course… Men.
Eggg-zactly
The advice goes for men too! 💵
Wow, that’ s my President. I expect to see more executive orders with this recalcitrant Congress.
Woot!
Oh, seems Ms Lindsay is infatuated with Ben ….
Priceless. That is just awesome.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Good one Bob
I reckon it’s time for Miss Lindsey to ask Mr. Ghazi out on a date. Valentine’s Day is just around a corner and a good opportunity should not be wasted!
the “he’ll” is intentional though I toyed with “she’ll”
A tribute to Bob Marley is coming Up……Alert, Arlet, Arlet for the West Coasters……Pre-warned
Freakin’ awesome!
PSA Request – RT this EVERYONE!
WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS DUMB ASSES?
Republicans have caused this mess.
You are darn right the Republicans have caused this mess.
You are absolutely right, Theo! Especially Republicans Lindsey Graham and John McCain! For me, the biggest culprits are MSM for failing to call out Graham’s and McCain’s blatant hypocrisy, ugly political grandstanding and incitement to right wing rebellion.
RT’d. geeze louise
Isn’t sedition still a crime?
Jack White just tore the fucking roof down at the Grammys. If you have never heard Jack White….WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? He’s so bloody talented. He has more talent in his pinky than a lot of the “artists” that performed tonight.
Hot as sin and talented beyond measure.
Bravo!
For some reason, I thought you were talking about Jack Black. Very talented, but I was thrown with the “hot as sin” commentary…
He torn the house DOWN! Fantastic performance! I see a whole bunch of Emmy nominations out of this show tonight!
TORE THE HOUSE DOWN… [sigh!]
You are building the house UP, by posting these great clips!😻👍😘 Hope you see my pics.
thanks very much.
I would be such an in-the-dark Gramma if it weren’t for TOD and these kinds of reports about
who’s ‘hot as sin and talented beyond measure’. Thanks, UT. Now I’ve checked out Jack White.
And last night, ohmygod, I watched the 2.5 hr. documentary of Bob Marley.
Oh, me too Sara. Not only am I old, but I live in sticks. Unfortunately I have step-grand kids who post terrible lyrics. I had to restricted their use on my FB because I didn’t want to offend anyone. Yes, that bad. This is fun though. Did you listen to the Tennessee Waltz? That was fun. See you around.
Heard Prince made an appearance I’ll have to look for his performance tomorrow I’m sure it was great! And I bet Mr White just killed ‘em. But now is time for beddy -
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
(nitey nite TOD)
Prince just presented Record of the Year. No performance. Was still epic though.
Dammit. Missed that! So glad I thought to DVR this! Phew!
He is sooooo cooool!
This why I LOVE the Grammys! Where else will you see Elton John, Mavis Staples and Mumford & Sons singing Levon Helm?
This soooooo cooooool!!! AWESOME SAUCE!!!
Budget Control Act of 2011

//Senate//pass// A//budget//in//2011//And//cut// spending
As soon as the Budget Control Act becomes law, discretionary spending (aka annual appropriations) will be cut and capped, with projected savings of $917 B over 10 years,
And I missed my Gotye!! Sooooo glad he (and Kimba) won though. Totally amazing album Making Mirrors — it hasn’t left the CD player in my car since I got it. Somebody That I Used To Know isn’t even the best song on the album. It just made the most money.
Bunch of pics of Wally (Gotye) and Kimbra with their big haul of hardware tonight

Radio Mix of the Record the Year
[shades of Sting and Peter Gabriel in there -- not bad choice of folks to emulate IMHO]
They were so thrilled to be on the stage with Prince. Looked like they couldn’t believe it!!! Don’t know if they were more pleased about that or about winning the grammy. I love this song and Prince does too so that makes it cool I guess!!
Yep, that was so cute! Video of that moment is posted below.
Perfect bumper sticker
Ha! That is WONDERFUL!!!
LL and Chuck D are burnin’ it!!!! Do it boys!!!
Almost made it—almost got thru the Grammys with no gross crotch grabs. LL and the guys—-crotch grab fest. Why???
Why, indeed? I thought people had moved on from that nonsense.
That was HOT!!!! Well done Grammys!! Can’t wait to watch the recording!!
5:30am comes early…off to bed…DVR’d the Grammy’s so I can watch what I missed later…what an awesome night! So much talent on that stage:) Night all…
NIght df!
Okay here are some of the performances from the Grammys — catch ‘em before CBS pulls ‘em
Bruno Mars, Sting, Ziggy Marley and Rihanna honour Bob Marley
Thanks Dudette. The Grammys were the best I’ve seen in a while. Really enjoyed it this year.
Me too! It was great!!!

Kelly Clarkson Grammys 2013 Tennessee Waltz and Natural Woman
Elton John, Mumford and Sons and others perform a tribute to to the late Levon Helm and other musicians lost in the past year.
Thanks for the videos Dudette.
This tribute to the artists and the people of Sandy Hook that we lost was perfection. Pure perfection.

Justin Timberlake sings in Grammy Awards (introduced by Ellen DeGeneres and Beyonce’)
The award show banter between Beyoncé and Ellen was spot on. They hit the right note!
When JT began performing, I remember groaning and thinking what is he doing? But then he got his groove and then Jay Z came on stage and took it to stratospheric levels and then JT finished it nicely. Welcome back JT.
Fun. performs “Carry On” at the 55th Grammy Awards 2013
Rihanna Grammys 2013 performance Stay ft Mikky Ekko
This is the best I’ve ever heard Rihanna’s voice live and it’s interesting that she chose this song especially in light of her relationship with Chris Brown. Her vocals were good and it made the performance special.
So glad more people were exposed to Mikky Ekko who sang with her. His talent is W-O-W.
The Lumineers Grammys 2013 performance “Ho Hey”
They were really good but the segue to Jack White was freaking AMAZING!!!!!
Prince Presents the Record of the Year
Prince walked up to that stage like he owned the place and hell to the yes he does. His look was like: “The name is Prince. You better recognize.”
Hollah!
Miguel & Wiz Khalifa perform @ the Grammys 2013
Grammy Awards 2013: Elton John and Ed Sheeran
This reminded of me when Elton John performed Stan at the Grammys with Eminem. One of the best live performances I have ever witnessed.
Gotta say though….Elton performed Ed Sheeran’s song better than Ed.
Grammy Awards – Maroon 5 – Alicia Keys
There’s something wrong with this. The person who recorded this speeded up Alicia Keys’s segment and made her sound weird. This wasn’t how it was performed live.
Taylor SWIFT – 2013 Grammy Award Opening Performance – We Are Never Getting Back Together
Taylor Swift’s performance was the worst of the night. WTF was this? I felt like I was on LSD or really really really bad weed. But nope….it was Swift who clearly was on altered substances.
It felt like she had some mental break from reality. I kept wishing for Kanye West to run up on stage and end my misery. Then I went on Twitter and found out everyone felt that way. The performance was bizarre and not worthy of opening the Grammys.
Jennifer Lopez Pitbull 2013 Grammy Awards. Pokes Fun At CBS ‘Wardrobe Advisory
Umm….J-Lo? Take a page from Beyoncé. Beyoncé looked sexy without having to look desperate like J-Lo did. Seriously…the leg thing? Angelina Jolie already did it and it was just as played out as it was then as it is now.
Four-fifths of Ed Schultz’s viewers agree with U.S. drone policy

Trust loony left to be completely out of step with the majority.
Has Ed Schultz himself acknowledged this inconvenient truth?
No but Chris Matthews was truly flabbergasted about it on either Thursday’s or on Friday’s show.
I will bet that if a scientific poll was done, the result would be the same thing.
I heard that reported on someone else’s program. Made me snicker.
LL Cool J and Chuck D closeout the show
I’ve looked high and low for Jack White’s epic performance of Love Interruption and Freedom (some on YouTube are labeled as grammys 2013, but they’re older performances). I’ll post the real one if I find it. It was BREATHTAKING!
thanks for posting all this music, dudette! what a show!
Here’s video of Hunter Hayes singing and introducing Carrie Underwood. Found another one of just Carrie, but they cut the video in the middle of her performance (what was this person thinking?). Will keep looking for another one.
Thanks Dudette for all the clips – you are a star indeed
Thanks 99ts, too kind. I just love music and love to share it!
You are a star Dudette! ⭐⭐⭐What song did she sing?
Pope Benedict to resign Feb 28 due to inability to do his job cuz of advanced age
News I can use. Thanks, linda.
or due to a lifetime of cover-up of sex abuse of thousands of children
As a Catholic, this is a huge crime that was done to so many victims.
Oh my God. 👼😇🙈🙉🙊😈🙏
Am I doomed for posting those pics.
Last happened in the 1200′s. U.S. Bishops didn’t get word until they saw the news. Hope he opens the books.
ratzi, the natzi, to resign this month end. Good riddance.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-21411304
Thanks for the link, amk. I heard about this earlier and was hoping someone here had more info. What would I do without you guys!!
where do Popes who resign go? where do they live – a papal convent?
Global, I’m sure the retirement pension for popes is very generous. He could retire any place he wants and have a small retinue of servants to take care of him.
would the nuns who trained me be disappointed that as a Catholic, I do not know the answer to this question?
It would seem (from wiki) the only resignations were
Benedict IX 1045
Celestine V – 1294
Gregory XII 1415
so probably not a lot of thoughts about retirement benefits. At a guess he will return from whence he came – and as jackie says – will have a generous settlement upon him.
Saw this great retort to Joe Walsh’s ignorant slam against FLOTUS for attending Hadiyah Pendleton’s funeral on another blog:
“I am sure that this makes perfect sense to Mr. Walsh.
If you cannot attend every funeral service, then attend none.
If you cannot make every child support payment, then make none. ”
Boom him to he’ll, Scottie !😈

Obama’s State of the Union: Aggressive
President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech will be less a presidential olive branch than a congressional cattle prod.Emboldened by electoral victory and convinced the GOP is unwilling to cut deals, Obama plans to use his big prime-time address Tuesday night to issue another broad challenge at a Republican Party he regards as vulnerable and divided…

Grammy Awards Overlook First Lady Michelle Obama for Best Spoken Word Album
http://obamafoodorama.blogspot.com/2013/02/grammy-awards-overlook-first-lady.html
Mrs. Obama tweets congratulations to winner Janis Ian, who calls victory “a stunning upset”…
The category for Best Spoken Word Album at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards was a competitive one, and First Lady Michelle Obama’s book American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America lost to singer-songwriter Janis Ian’s book Society’s Child: My Autobiography. The win was announced Sunday afternoon at a pre-ceremony ahead of the awards telecast from Los Angeles, CA.
Ian also trumped former President Bill Clinton, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. When learning of her win, a thrilled Ian attempted to turn it into a punchline for a joke, reported the Los Angeles Times in a liveblog of the pre-show.
“To say this is a stunning upset would be an understatement,” Ian said. “An ex-president, a first lady and three lesbians walk into a bar…”
Update, 7:46 PM: The First Lady tweeted her congratulations to Ian.
“Congrats to @therealjanisian! Such an honor even to be nominated for the #Grammys — looking forward to watching tonight! -mo,” Mrs. Obama wrote on @FLOTUS.
President Obama previously won one Grammy each in the Best Spoken Word category for his books Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope.
American Grown was published last May, and is Mrs. Obama’s debut as an author. Part White House memoir and part national call to action for the Let’s Move! campaign, it includes recipes from the White House chefs and gardening tips, and spotlights food access projects around the nation. Saturday was the third anniversary of Mrs. Obama’s childhood obesity campaign.
When first nominated for the Grammy last December, the First Lady shared the honor with all those who worked on her Kitchen Garden and on the book.
“This nomination is such an honor not just for me, but for everybody who contributed to the garden and the audio book, from the National Park Service employees to our White House chefs to our beekeeper,” Mrs. Obama said.
It’s Michelle Obama’s book I bought. No one else’s. except for her husbands of course.
Twitter is the best place for football games, award shows, and breaking news. The amount of Pope jokes flying across my timeline is cracking me up.
