Were you waiting for me to get home? That was timing for me. I don’t think I’ve been home more than ten minutes. I’m not caught up with news yet.. I was taking care of dogs, changing clothes, this is crazy if I’m first. IF!

Carolmae, tell Chips you’re not ready for SOTU yet so she’ll do it over later. She’ll listen since you were first past the post. Good movements on your part!

Feeling severely hopeful about my missing cat – spent the last couple of hours looking for her again, neighbor told me she saw her yesterday. Yesterday! She’s been missing for days, so “yesterday” is fantastic. Clinging to the hope that she’s still in a huff over the invader despot, still have to find her, but this is way better than I ever hoped. So, my spirits are UP!

Chris Matthews compares Dorner to OJ Simpson, and CNN calls Dorner an animal. Where’s all the talk about mental illness, stress, depression or Asperger’s Disorder that frequently comes up in the media when the shooter is white?????!??!??

    • 116 anniebella
      February 12, 2013 at 6:29 pm

The young man who shot his Mother and went into that school and shot those 26 people, including twenty 6 and 7 year olds were never call a animal, was he?

    • February 12, 2013 at 6:29 pm

I am not surprise, when a black guy does something bad it is multiple ten folds within the media, I guess black people (me) included do not have mental issues

    • 119 GGail
      February 12, 2013 at 6:32 pm

I don’t approve of his methods of getting attention, but clearly he is disturbed mentally because this injustice has festered for many years (since 2009) to where all rationale is out the window and the sad part is that his claim of wrongful termination has merit and deserves to be re-examined.

      • 120 hopefruit2
        February 12, 2013 at 6:47 pm

I agree GGail and like you, I make no excuses for Dorner. He is a murderer and has to deal with the consequences, even thought mental illness may be a factor (as is almost always the case in situations like this).

Having said that, we duly note the media’s very different and racist take on shooters who are of different ethnic background. This guy’s situation and behavior bears no resemblance to that of OJ Simpson save for the fact they are both Black. Yet Tweety immediately drew this spurious comparison based on ethnicity and nothing else.

      February 12, 2013 at 6:44 pm

Chris Matthews is a biggoted fool.. he’s sees a black man and not much else. Funny how when white folks go off the deep end.. we send in the psychologists and try to understand.. but here it’s OJ he’s reminded of. Ignorant idiot.

I get all my news on this blog (all day pretty much) and now just one other that I go to about once a day. The funny thing is my son will ask me “Did you hear ….. (about whatever)” and I say yes. Because even though he does still frequent some news organizations (mostly Al Jazeera) and our local/state news, and he is on Twitter … I still will have heard whatever here, many times before he did. Most of us ARE very aware of the issues, but we’ll all need to be able to have credible information/knowledge of the facts if we are to engage for these next 4 years….OFA is now ISSUES oriented (since our guy was re elected!) So as you all take the time to write your representatives or LTE’s and the like….these facts will be indispensable.

hey effing ‘savior’ rubio– tell us how violence against women isn’t a problem in america, and guns are not a problem either.

‘ Police are investigating a reported shooting incident that occurred Monday night in Hilo that left two women dead.

At about 11:20 pm on Monday night, police responded to several calls of gunshots in the 600 block of Leilani Street. Responding officers conducted checks within the residence and discovered two victims with apparent gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to the Hilo Medical Center where they were pronounced dead, police say.
    ~
Sean Ivan Masa Matsumoto, 34 of Hilo, was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of first degree murder and two counts of second degree murder.

Two children who were also at the residence at the time of the shooting were uninjured and are under the care of family members. ‘

Watching the smoke billowing from that cabin, I have to admit I feel ill. Couldn’t ever defend the man for killing those four people, but I still have a feeling he was driven to this madness by the pure hate he witnessed and experienced. Again, NOT defending him, what he did was unforgivable, but it’s all just horrific.

    • 201 Lynn
      February 12, 2013 at 7:35 pm

Absolutely, Ms. Chips. System overload for this man.

    • 202 dotster3
      February 12, 2013 at 7:36 pm

Surely there was a better way to tell his story.

      • February 12, 2013 at 7:42 pm

There definitely was Dotster, and in his ‘manifesto’ he talked of the LAPD losing their “moral compass” – which many of them most certainly did, a long time ago. But he never seemed to get that he had lost his moral compass too, he genuinely seemed to think what he was doing – murdering innocents – was somehow righteous. Again, not defending anything he did, and this ending was inevitable – but he seemed to live a decent life until he experienced the poison of the LAPD. In the end, tragically, he proved to be as ‘moral’ as many of them. It’s depressing.

    • February 12, 2013 at 7:48 pm

Totally agree with you. If he’s dead, it’s going to reflect badly on the LAPD in the long run.

    • 207 LunarSea
      February 12, 2013 at 8:08 pm

I agree. And I know how the media works. They have already tried him in the court of public opinion. And yes what he did was wrong, but we’ve been only hearing one side of this story.

I mean right about now I wouldn’t mind doing normally unspeakable things that Cruz and that washed up hasbeen. So there’s that..

      • 208 LunarSea
        February 12, 2013 at 8:09 pm

        s/b ‘to that Cruz…”

      • February 12, 2013 at 8:14 pm

And because they can now dismiss him as a ‘madman’ – and it’s hard to argue with suggestions he was unbalanced when he killed four innocent people – all his allegations, which were so incredibly detailed, will be completely ignored. Anyone who dared ask questions about them would be accused of trying to make a martyr of a dead murderer. Ah, it’s all miserable.

    Immigration
    Educations
    Jobs
    Climate
    Voting Rights
    Gun Control

These things don’t concern black men? FFS!

    • 231 anniebella

      • February 12, 2013 at 8:46 pm

This is the original tweet. He’s playing dumb by the way. Pretending that the “people” who say GOP should pursue Latinos are the same ones who push back on him when he implies that POTUS doesn’t address AA’s concerns.

        • 234 nathkatun7
          February 13, 2013 at 12:13 am

What exactly should Obama say about Blacks? Who the hell appointed Van Jones to speak for all Black people? Jones should get over the fact that he is no longer in the administration. The President just got off the campaign trail. If the vast majority of Black people didn’t think that he looks out for their interests they would never have voted for him in record numbers. These Black emoprogs, like Van Jones, and Black right wingers, like Dr. Benjamin Carson, think all Black people are stupid and can be easily swayed every time you claim to speak for them. The Black people I know are solidly behind the President. Many understand that he has, from day one, been attacked from the right and the left. Besides, speaking for my self, I never witnessed similar vitriol from some of the President’s Black bashers, like some in the CBC, Van Jones, Tavis Smiley, and Cornel West, being unleashed against Bill Clinton. Some body please correct me if they remember Van Jones ever asking President Clinton, or President George W. Bush, to address Blacks in the SOTU.

Fot the record, GOP is asked to address Latinos because Republicans have been trashing Latinos. Is Van Jones saying that President Obama has been trashing Black people? If not, then why the false equivalence? I am sick of these holier than thou Blacks who instead of going out to organize and empower the Black community are busy dumping their shit on President Obama. This is just my opinion of Van Jones: he just loves the limelight. He has discovered that in rider to stay in the limelight, and also make money on the side, he must constantly attack the President; a man he once supported and worked for.
