Not in recent history but I use to see them at most locations on the outskirts of town when I was working. We have had a real problem with peoples dogs and cats being snatched and they are not camera shy. We can count on them making the news on a weekly basis.
Just amazing that they’re now coming in to towns, presumably food is scarce in their usual terrain? Freaks me out that they’re snatching cats and dogs, ugh.
Yeah. Last week about two or three chased a small dog into his house and broke the glass in the home owners storm door trying to get him. It’s just a matter of time before a dog gets snatched while being walked. The varmints have also been known to attack small children.

Watching the smoke billowing from that cabin, I have to admit I feel ill. Couldn’t ever defend the man for killing those four people, but I still have a feeling he was driven to this madness by the pure hate he witnessed and experienced. Again, NOT defending him, what he did was unforgivable, but it’s all just horrific.
There definitely was Dotster, and in his ‘manifesto’ he talked of the LAPD losing their “moral compass” – which many of them most certainly did, a long time ago. But he never seemed to get that he had lost his moral compass too, he genuinely seemed to think what he was doing – murdering innocents – was somehow righteous. Again, not defending anything he did, and this ending was inevitable – but he seemed to live a decent life until he experienced the poison of the LAPD. In the end, tragically, he proved to be as ‘moral’ as many of them. It’s depressing.
I agree. And I know how the media works. They have already tried him in the court of public opinion. And yes what he did was wrong, but we’ve been only hearing one side of this story.
I mean right about now I wouldn’t mind doing normally unspeakable things that Cruz and that washed up hasbeen. So there’s that..
And because they can now dismiss him as a ‘madman’ – and it’s hard to argue with suggestions he was unbalanced when he killed four innocent people – all his allegations, which were so incredibly detailed, will be completely ignored. I don’t approve of his methods of getting attention, but clearly he is disturbed mentally because this injustice has festered for many years (since 2009) to where all rationale is out the window and the sad part is that his claim of wrongful termination has merit and deserves to be re-examined.
I agree GGail and like you, I make no excuses for Dorner. He is a murderer and has to deal with the consequences, even thought mental illness may be a factor (as is almost always the case in situations like this).
Having said that, we duly note the media’s very different and racist take on shooters who are of different ethnic background. This guy’s situation and behavior bears no resemblance to that of OJ Simpson save for the fact they are both Black. Yet Tweety immediately drew this spurious comparison based on ethnicity and nothing else.

I get all my news on this blog (all day pretty much) and now just one other that I go to about once a day. The funny thing is my son will ask me “Did you hear ….. (about whatever)” and I say yes. Because even though he does still frequent some news organizations (mostly Al Jazeera) and our local/state news, and he is on Twitter … I still will have heard whatever here, many times before he did. How about that?

There definitely was Dotster, and in his ‘manifesto’ he talked of the LAPD losing their “moral compass” – which many of them most certainly did, a long time ago. But he never seemed to get that he had lost his moral compass too, he genuinely seemed to think what he was doing – murdering innocents – was somehow righteous. Again, not defending anything he did, and this ending was inevitable – but he seemed to live a decent life until he experienced the poison of the LAPD. In the end, tragically, he proved to be as ‘moral’ as many of them. It’s depressing.
You distilled that down, Ms. Chips. It’s hard to figure out up from down, good from bad, black from white, but it’s never that cut and dried.
