These shallow hurdles that Rubio is jumping may give him a stamp on his passport, but they don’t stand for anything related to foreign policy experience or give any stature to Rubio’s presidential ambitions. The fact that people think these shallow gestures can actually make someone ready or give evidence of their judgement and maturity to run the world – it’s offensive! We have an example right now of a man who takes the job very seriously, and puts thought into every single decision he makes and the ramifications, thereof. This move from Rubio, in advance of a very important trip by the actual head of state of this country and chief diplomat – it’s a dangerous thing to do given that there are real lives that are in jeopardy in the region – and they need real help.

If Rubio wanted to burnish his foreign policy chops, why couldn’t he ask President Obama to include him in the President’s trip?

I signed up to be on the call, then totally forgot about it and took my son on a lunch date :) I now have to make a date with my 18 yo son so that I can spend time with him.
