So are you on ipad? I amthinking of getting one of those or the Kindle HD. What do you think? Has anyone heard of QuiBids? Just checking to see if it worth it to join.
Jamie Fox, Seal, and John, ( I can not think of his name) were really good. Why don’t the folks in charge of the WHCD get Jamie Fox to host the dinner? He would be alot better than Conan O”Brien or Jimmy Kimmel. The Jonas Brother was pretty good too.

Hi a4alice. There are a lot of very informative articles in the Mother Jones magazine. In fact, there was a very interesting article written about Sen. Cruz of TX in the Nov.-Dec. 2012 issue. Very worth the read, if you can get a copy. “The Great White Hope” by Tim Murphy.HZ
That got me up and ready to go! Remember, it’s 9:40 am in WY! I have never seen a happier group sing. Well, my babies had me up awhile ago, and now they are enjoying the snow. Thank you Chips. I have missed so much of the fun stuff at the White House.
seriously? Like Nick Jonas from the Jonas Brothers? ……. sigh ……. I have crossed over that magic line where I know that I am old …… you all read it here first folks….. a4alice is going for some lemonade and creak over for a rest on the hammock…..
No, A4Alice, you can’t go. I used the magic of the source. Going directly to YouTube. I’ve never listened to the Jonas Bros., but that boy can sing. They were having fun, ya think?
One more thing, I was just thinking it’s ashame Michael Jackson didn’t get the chance to perform at the White House. I can imagine him moonwalking across that stage. Too many Blacks didn’t get a chance to do anything at the White House, except maybe cook, clean, keep the lawn clean.
I don’t wear glasses, but I felt like I had to put a pair of glasses on, too… Many comments:
1. The mice are going to have cute little parachutes? Whose job was it to build the little parachutes and then put the little parachutes on the little mice?
2. Two million mice are going to fall out of the sky? Really? (It’s too bad we’ve already passed 2012, because surely this is a sign of the end-times?).
3. Exactly how many snakes are there in that place?
4. And now the place is overrun by spiders, too? What kind of place is this?
Imagine if you had that gig! I get the parachutes, they need the mice to get stuck in the trees, where the snakes inhabit. I know the Air Force does schutzhund training (German Sheppard attack/protection) I used to breed dogs and thought about joining the AF in that field.
What a stupid name Rinse Priebus. But Crowley have been trying to make up to the Republicans every since the second POTUS-Romney debate and she said that POTUS did use the word terrorists. And it made Romney look like a bigger fool than he already were.
Guess I’ll be flipping back and forth between President Obama’s Governor’s event and the Red Carpet and Oscars. But is the event with our President even going to be televised?
I’m surprised they always schedule this on Oscar night—not that it’s earth-shattering, but I bet a lot of gov.’s wives, at least, would want to see the Oscar telecast. Michelle seemed a bit sad about it—-on Jimmy Fallon—-covered it up nicely tho with humor.
I posted a link at bottom because I couldn’t find who asked about it. It will be live streaming at WH website. Look for my post towards bottom for time.
Bob Woodward apparently did not even read his own book. This huckster is mad he lost access to WH, so no he is trying to sell books.

I honestly don’t think he cares. This is Woodward’s schtick. Show up when it’s time to promote a book and get the Beltway twits all a twitter which in turn gives him all the free advertising he needs. It’s perfect rollout and Woodward knows that the mainstream media will never fail him regardless of whatever he writes or says. All this President is to Woodward is a new backdrop for the same old hustle.
Hey you Twitter cats what does anyone know about this account. I see users with this Twibbon, is it in response to RWNJ’s getting liberal users suspended? Has anyone here joined this?
Alice, don’t know but it seemed to arise, in part, because teabagger/rwnj trolls were abusing the Twitter ‘block & report spam’ function to get accounts of supporters of PBO and Dems suspended. I’m on Twitter to do two things, as all of you know, support the President and support all efforts to ensure a Democratic Party majority in the Senate, House and State Houses throughout the Republic. Anyone in #uniteblue who evidences that those are also their objectives and that follow me, I follow back, for sure.
People were getting blocked by conservatives and suspended if they didn’t have many followers. UniteBlue was a defense. If people follow one another they are more protected from troll assaults.
I know, I’m seeing them too, and I don’t even check twitter everyday. I haven’t seen any that were questionable, but like I said I don’t tweet often. Pay no attention to the top left corner of my post.
Good that they are doing it, df. Just hope they broaden the scope and realize that tightly coupling license & liability insurance would give States substantial tools to lower #GunViolence and a revenue stream (training fees from required training and testing to get a license, license fees, and taxes on liability insurance policies) to fund gun control programs – all of which would be totally consistent with the ‘well-regulated’ clause of the 2nd Amendment. And, insurance companies would certainly know how to mitigate risk (strong enforcement of training, licensing, background checks, etc) and thereby have a new cash flow positive revenue stream.

This is for Jackie Grumbacher – in case you don’t see the response to your important comment that you posted in the previous thread. Thank you!
“Important issue, Jackie. Perhaps each State OFA could devise ways to ensure the President’s messages and Whitehouse.gov info are conveyed to constituents who don’t use computers.”
Bob, during the election I took this up repeatedly with OFA in our area and was told that there were only so many resources and they needed to be applied to electronic media. Most non-computer users can be reached by phone and while that’s good for GOTV, it’s terrible for long messages. Maybe now with the election frenzy behind us, there will be a change of heart about this. It’s easy to dismiss the non computer users or become impatient with their slowness, but they represent a significant number of supporters and shouldn’t be ignored. We’re always told of the high cost of snail mail, yet we manage to get endless fundraising letters from the very people who can’t be bothered to send out information. I’m actually thinking of printing out transcripts of the president’s weekly addresses and distributing them at our monthly meeting of local progressives. When all else fails, fall back on paper.
Hi JG! A THOUGHT: Instead of (or as well as) printing out transcripts of the weekly addresses (which some like me may not READ), why not allot 10 minutes of each monthly meeting to watching the two most recent addresses together? Most meeting rooms will have a TV, etc and you could either access them on Youtube or have someone record them for you. There’s something to be said for them seeing the Pres as he speaks and them being able to SEE and HEAR for themselves may just stir a few of them to hunt (the ones they’ve missed) themselves via library/children/grandchildren computer, etc. In fact, realizing how much they are missing may stir one or two of them to buy, or request a laptop or whatever of their own from relatives. When I was in Texas last summer I talked my folks into hooking up the internet at my father’s place, showed my stepmother what she was missing vis-a-vis POTUS and his campaign and she was all for it. They didn’t have a computer so before the hook-up she and I went to the library and she later signed up for a free community course (senior citizens) which would familiarize her with the computer. Sadly, after I left, my father – who can be a…….. – refused to move his van in time (he parks behind her nightly) for the 2x weekly 8week morning course so she ended up cancelling the internet access. Grrrr!
” I’m actually thinking of printing out transcripts of the president’s weekly addresses and distributing them at our monthly meeting of local progressives. When all else fails, fall back on paper.”
Jackie, that would be a good way to start getting the message out. Given all the junk mail I received from OFA and various candidates it is obvious that if they decided to use registered voters snail mail addresses for the purpose of distributing the President’s messages – without asking for money each time – they likely would find many appreciative supporters. And, they could leverage the collateral benefit that folk receiving those mailings could very well post them on community bulletin boards, pass them among family members and friends who do not use computers.
As you not, now that the frenzy of re-electing President Obama is over and the primary task is to support legislation with a secondary task of expanding the OFA base for the 2014 and 2016 elections, the more people feel included and are enabled to spread the messages, accurately, the better.
I don’t agree with my colleague Bob Woodward, who says the Obama administration is “moving the goalposts” when they insist on a sequester replacement that includes revenues. I remember talking to both members of the Obama administration and the Republican leadership in 2011, and everyone was perfectly clear that Democrats were going to pursue tax increases in any sequester replacement, and Republicans were going to oppose tax increases in any sequester replacement. What no one knew was who would win.
The sequester was a punt. The point was to give both sides a face-saving way to raise the debt ceiling even though the tax issue was stopping them from agreeing to a deficit deal. The hope was that sometime between the day the sequester was signed into law (Aug. 2, 2011) and the day it was set to go into effect (Jan. 1, 2013), something would…change.
The second was the 2012 election. If Republicans won, then that would pretty much settle it: No tax increases. If President Obama won, then that, too, would pretty much settle it: The American people would’ve voted for the guy who wants to cut the deficit by increasing taxes.
The American people voted for the guy who wants to cut the deficit by increasing taxes.
In fact, they went even further than that. They also voted for a Senate that would cut the deficit by increasing taxes. And then they voted for a House that would cut the deficit by increasing taxes, though due to the quirks of congressional districts, they didn’t get one.
Wonderful memories of Fox News’s election night meltdown.

What we learned this week: Due to Obama Derangement Syndrome, David Brooks and Bob Woodward became national laughingstocks.— Nerdy Wonka (@NerdyWonka) February 24, 2013
I am a severe Critic of Howard Kurtz. At about close to the end of his show today…..I have just finished watching it about an hour ago….he called Brooks out. He didn’t call Woodward out. Kurtz worked for WashPost for many years…..so that is my personal belief as to why Woodward was not mentioned.
I wondered if Howard would take either of them out. Never catch his show, anymore, so glad to hear he’s being HALF fair. He’s probably jealous of Brooks at the NYT, and, of course, no doubt you’re right about his WashPost connection.
Are any of you getting lots of emails like this? By opening this message, you have taken the first step toward improving your future. I will show you how you can walk less than 50 feet to work. They started coming after the election. I’m worried about some teap getting my email. I never open them and put them in junk, but they keep coming. Just wondering. . .
Carol – don’t ever even think about opening such messages – they usually contain a virus and will access any email address lists you have & start sending the same message to all your email friends – or they will trash your computer.

Df, this is an article everybody should read inside and outside the beltway. I have some economist friends who have been saying this very thing for years and lamenting the fact that Democrats pick up GOP talking points on the deficit and take them as gospel. There is no debt crisis in the US is something that we should all shout from the rooftops. Thanks to propaganda from the right, ordinarily intelligent people believe that we are “owned” by China, that we are choking in debt and that the deficit is the number one problem. All this deliberate distortion is intended to divert the US from really improving our economy, fixing our infrastructure, expanding the middle class and ensuring a decent future. It’s criminal.
Japa, I believe him too, because what I’ve heard him say is that we just can’t keep adding to the debt in an irresponsible way (like unfunded wars and costly Medicare expansion). If we are sensible about spending–if we don’t just keep mounting up expenses with no return– then we give ourselves the flexibility to invest wisely in kind of long term investments that will improve the economy and the climate. He has never had a “hair on fire” attitude toward our debt. He knows that a sensible balance of some revenue with cuts to unnecessary programs will do the job. It’s the GOP that’s made this a big deal. It’s blown out of proportion so that nothing else of substance will be done.
I love and trust the President, but that is the one point on which I strongly disagree…have from the beginning. This is the game the Republicans always play when a Democrat is in office. If they’ll just create jobs, much of the debt will take care of itself. The whole debt crisis meme is the biggest con going.
What they are saying about the entitlements is what they have always said. They’ve been promising that Medicare would go broke for the last twenty years. So why didn’t the Republicans fix it when they had the House, Senate and White House (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006)? They expanded it with the prescription drug plan.
My only consolation is that I know even if the President had tried to say the debt is no problem, no one would have believed him. The Republicans had won that argument before he was even sworn in.
It’s the only thing the republicans poll well on, the deficit.
Take it off the table and they got nothing!
As long as it is there, it will be the only thing discussed in DC.
It’s just the DC culture!
It’s unfortunate, Jovie. The Republicans do a masterful job with their bullshit. But if people would stop and think…you can’t go broke when you print your own currency, set the interest rate and do your own accounting. Remember when Rumsfeld said the Defense Department was unable to track $2.3 trillion? What happened to it? It never showed up in Bush’s balances.
They have the public so brainwashed…they bailout wall street and the public gets pissed about a stimulus that helps Main Street. The Wall Street barons get to keep their bonuses, but the public applauds when workers get cheated out of their pensions. The government could zero out all the balances on intra-government accounts tomorrow. What would happen? Somebody gonna foreclose on the White House, repossess Air Force One? It’s a bunch of bullshit, but you’ll never convince the public.
I just wanted to pop in and say a few things.
1. thanks Chips for being this amazing source of news. I don’t think I would have survived the last 4 years without this wonderful place that removes the garbage and lies for the actual truth.
2. The most important thing I have learnt from BHO is focus, He is always focused on his goal and rises above the hate and disrespect because he understands that what God gives to you, no man can take it away psalm 125.
I have tried to apply this to my everyday life, because no matter how big or small you are in this world you are going to have doubt planters and haters whose goal is to distract you and try to let you lose your focus by fighting them back, and forget your own goal o purpose. PHO is really a role model to me in that aspect and I cannot express how much that has changed my life and perspective.
3. There is a saying “Those you can DO, and those who can’t well they become pundits and critics….it is true, all these people out there that are such experts in everything and know what is what cannot walk a day in PHO’s shoes.
“Keeping his back as he keeps ours. I just want to share this with our TOD Family. I received this from Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz,DNC. Re: This is huge.
President Obama just took another step toward equality for all. On Friday, the Obama Administration filed a brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act. I couldn’t be more proud to have a president who stands up for equality and is willing to fight for the right of all people to marry, no matter who they love.
Save the date! Mitty and Miz Ann will be on FOXNews Sunday next weekend! Will Mitt sing another round of “Davey Crockett”?—remember that? Desperate and funny! Will Ann re-shout, “I love you women!”? That was so fake and hilarious! Gee, can’t wait! Not!
I think I noticed earlier that McCain was down to “only” one Sunday show today. Think he sent the coyote woman to speak on another show. Personally, I never watch any of them anymore – unless President Obama’s on, of course!
Woodward pushes back: W.H. confusing, distorting facts on sequester
By DONOVAN SLACK | 2/24/13 12:58 PM EST
The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward tells POLITICO Playbook that the White House is muddling the facts on the sequester – “a classic case of distortion and confusion.”
White House press secretary Jay Carney had bashed Woodward as “willfully wrong” in a column he wrote arguing that the initial sequester agreement did not include revenues and so asking for them now is “moving the goal posts.”
“The White House pushback is a classic case of distortion and confusion,” Woodward said in an email to Playbook. “We unfortunately have seen this too often in recent presidential history… I do not think it is willful. They are just mixed up, surprisingly so.”
A White House official put together a two-page memo outlining its case that the goal posts remain where they were all along — a grand bargain including revenue and cuts to replace the sequester. Read the full back and forth in Playbook.
Once a creep, always a creep. That this mini idiot is taking on the White House is just insane and hilarious. Wonder how he gets his hat on with a head that big.
Woodward is a dinosaur that has gotten rich and fat carrying water for whomever blows a kiss his way. The fact that this President, a black President would tell Woodward to go fuck himself is just too much for his diseased soul to take.
GWB gave him unlimited access, Woodward churned out what, two or three books then Bush cut him off…..PBO knows Woodward is just out to make a buck like all the rest of them and he ain’t playing that…..
Poor Woodward, you would think that on a Sunday he would be out at his country home enjoying his bourbon on the rocks and reading his fan mail. But no, he’s somewhere hunkered down feverishly sending out emails about the Whitehouse besmirching his honor.
President Obama has his own “authors,” standing by and ready. The historians are already writing. One thing our President is NOT, and that’s dumb like Woodward and the others.
He (and those who dictate his columns to him) must be worried. Half the Republican party are trying to blame the Obama Administration for the sequester, and the other half are trying to take credit for it! It would be funny if the consequences weren’t so horrible. In any case, it’s obvious who wants the sequester to happen, and who doesn’t. In my book, the party that wants it to happen and does everything in their power to make it happen is the party that owns the consequences.
And this stuff about PBO “moving the goalposts” by insisting on tax revenue… it’s just assinine. Woodward is conflating the sequester itself, which doesn’t include any tax revenue, with all possible subsequent deals to avoid the sequester! The whole point of the sequester was to force BOTH sides to compromise. If there was no need for Republicans to accept tax revenue, there wouldn’t even be a need for the sequester and we would’ve had a deal ages ago! *shaking my head*
Looks to me like he’s waited for this job, his entire life, maybe even since he returned from Vietnam and started speaking out. So happy for him. And us.
Key paragraph in story: “Kristopher Arason, Red River’s principal, said the school’s investigation determined that the students put on the attire just after Red River’s first goal and wore it for about 30 seconds to a minute. The teens removed the outfits after students in the section told them it was offensive, he said.”
Those crafty kids strike again, apparently their parents didn’t notice their kids walking out of the house with fucking KKK hoods in their hands, nor did the adults manning the entrance to the gym notice the kids either.
They’ve changed their tune. Earlier a school rep said it was no big deal…”we have a white-out every year”. In other words, it was just a white costume in honor of school tradition. Glad people spoke up.
Don, what makes you think the kids left home with the hoods in their hands, or entered the gym with them on display? Kids can indeed be crafty, especially with regards to their parents. I’m not excusing these parents becaue I don’t know them but in my experience, kids regularly changed outfits after leaving home AND before returning. They have their ways of working around the adults who try to set rules for them.
Kids learn this crap from their parents and other adults around them – they learn to think this is ok. When you’ve got adults like Ted Cruz, Limbaugh, every single member of the GOP in Congress – cowards, liars, immoral – then we can’t be so surprised when the kids turn out like this. I hope there will be consequences.
They also learn it from the media and the GOP in their non stop attacks on the President. When a Principle says “this is not representative of oour school” – I wonder what he knows about his students & their families.
I love the twitter – it was a non event until someone posted it online & then everyone saw it.
Yep. That pointy head gear means only one thing to me. I saw an objection somewhere saying they were just being “ghosts” or some “whiteout” thing for the game. But those don’t look like ghosts to me…..
Maybe those kids need to be educated on who and what the KKK stood for and what they did. I know let’s let them talk to people who can tell them these things, let them see the things the KKK did to Blacks. Then let us see if they feel proud to wear that KKK hood, if they do then we know what we need to know.

Putting the ‘well regulated’ back in the 2nd Amendment ….
Thank you, df. We each do what we can. I will not let this matter drop until the 2nd Amendment is being thoroughly enforced in as many pragmatic ways as possible. Cars, trucks, cranes, ships, trains ……….., are not designed to kill and yet training, licensure, insurance are required. Guns & ammo have only one purpose – to kill. The fact that someone shoots at targets does not change the fact that purpose of doing so is to improve the skill in using a device whose only purpose is death. The use of such a device should be more strictly regulated than any other.
Maybe if the target shooting ranges would put images of the faces of little innocent (white) children on the spot where the bulls eye is situated, somebody might wake up. Then, again, their deaths haven’t had much of an impact on McCain and those like him.
I like this, Bobfr. It made me chuckle because I tried shortening this same message earlier in response to one of your tweets above and using the explanation you had provided, yet I couldn’t seem to hit the right tone in 140 characters! Now I know why. Good job!

He does call my iPad my BFF. It is very handy when we argue over trivia though. Especially for football and movies. Thanks again LP.
Anytime Carol, I worked a few years doing the Audit for a hotel from 10 p.m.- 8 a.m, was terrible. Hate those weird hours.
It takes a toll on the body, doesn’t it?
I’m reading directions about iPad, twitter and YouTube. Never know what you will see.
So are you on ipad? I amthinking of getting one of those or the Kindle HD. What do you think? Has anyone heard of QuiBids? Just checking to see if it worth it to join.
You found the video!!!!!!!! You’re a superstar Chiparoo!
Get your dancing shoes on!!!!
Ain’t no music like the Motown sound. N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!
Legend? Like you, anniebella! You are a legendary Obama supporter. Mornin’!
Thank you jacquel, I could not think of his last name, even thought it was on the tip of my tongue. John Legend.
I was thinking the same thing when they announced Conan. Why no black comedian or another woman. Ed Henry, you $&@$&@#%€¥(? etc.
Carol, Ed is to busy worry about not seeing POTUS play golf with Tiger Woods.
Ron Fournier – Jackass extraordinaire – thinks he’s smart. In the days when everything one does in public and sometimes private is recorded, he thinks he can get away with BS. Ezra Klein and Steve Benen call out his crap.
Who is that Ron Fournier? Never heard of him before.
He is Editoral Director of the National Journal and a Republican at heart.
Bill, Okay, enough said. He’s a Nobody.
Head of AP for many years—–all stories slanted rightward. When it became known that he applied to be McCain’s communications director for ’08 campaign, he resigned for other opportunities, or “to spend more time with his family” as it is usually noted.
Yup, he was that cowardly punk. Al Giordano called him out during the 2008 elections.

wow so many layers of crazy DF. thanks – good read I should really subscribe to mother jones they really do a lot of in depth articles
Hi a4alice. There are a lot of very informative articles in the Mother Jones magazine. In fact, there was a very interesting article written about Sen. Cruz of TX in the Nov.-Dec. 2012 issue. Very worth the read, if you can get a copy. “The Great White Hope” by Tim Murphy.HZ
oh hey HZ – just got back from an errand. Thanks much for the recommendation – I’ll look for it!
That got me up and ready to go! Remember, it’s 9:40 am in WY! I have never seen a happier group sing. Well, my babies had me up awhile ago, and now they are enjoying the snow. Thank you Chips. I have missed so much of the fun stuff at the White House.
that was totally fun! thanks chips! Now I know all the singers except for that young white kid – who is that?
His last name is Jonas. I’ll get back to you.
Nick Jonas.
seriously? Like Nick Jonas from the Jonas Brothers? ……. sigh ……. I have crossed over that magic line where I know that I am old …… you all read it here first folks….. a4alice is going for some lemonade and creak over for a rest on the hammock…..
As I remember, the Jonas Bros. were Malia and Sasha’s fave —at the time anyway. Not mine.
No, A4Alice, you can’t go. I used the magic of the source. Going directly to YouTube. I’ve never listened to the Jonas Bros., but that boy can sing. They were having fun, ya think?
… bounding back …. oh right! You Tube! Way to make the Internet Machine work for you Carol! They sure were having a good time!
💃
Good Morning Chips and my TOD Family. A beautiful day to all of my family here. Enjoy your space and make it a great one. (((Love))))
Good Morning.
Is it Nick Jonas? I’m not sure.
I love it when jamie Fox said “we won the election, the White House baby is so much fun”.
One more thing, I was just thinking it’s ashame Michael Jackson didn’t get the chance to perform at the White House. I can imagine him moonwalking across that stage. Too many Blacks didn’t get a chance to do anything at the White House, except maybe cook, clean, keep the lawn clean.
And build it. There’s that. Hang in there!
Yes it is.
Build alot of things they didn’t get credit for or any pay either.
Woo Hoo was looking for a great soundtrack to work to today. Thanks, Chips!! Listening to the entire concert.
This had me put my glasses on to make sure I was reading this right! BTW pic is of a sweet ol lady who makes teddy bears for pet mice!
Nothing cute about a rat or mouse. Yuke!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, they are about to be dropped by the AF from helicopters w/ parachutes laced w/ painkillers to be eaten by snakes to kill them!!!!
Poisoned mice—not a good deal for the mice or the snakes.
Agree. I emailed them last night and told them to put mongooses on Guam and forget the poisons. Like you said…bad all the way around!
They said the poison is just Tylenol.
I remember seeing this pair of pictures – so flipping cute – little teeny eeny beeny teddy bears!
Doesn’t this constitute animal abuse? Effing ridiculous and cruel.
Yikes! I’m going to have nightmares…
And last comment – those little mice in the picture with the teddy bears… so cute!
Imagine if you had that gig! I get the parachutes, they need the mice to get stuck in the trees, where the snakes inhabit. I know the Air Force does schutzhund training (German Sheppard attack/protection) I used to breed dogs and thought about joining the AF in that field.
Did you see the movie Skyfall? Rats, not mice, but reminded me of a few quotes.
Think Adele will an Oscar for best song in a movie?
You may see that wherever there is fracking.
I can tell you more about methane and bore you enough to make you disappear.
Those flames were like the Old Faithful geyser at Yellowstone!
Not quite. They are more like methane straight out of the ground. Yellowstone geysers are steam. Just as deadly, though.
Candy Crowley works for Rinse Priebus I mean CNN…
What a stupid name Rinse Priebus. But Crowley have been trying to make up to the Republicans every since the second POTUS-Romney debate and she said that POTUS did use the word terrorists. And it made Romney look like a bigger fool than he already were.
Candy may soon be out at CNN, with Jeff Zucker now at the helm. http://www.aim.org/don-irvine-blog/john-king-staying-with-cnn-anderson-cooper-role-is-lessened/
Well I’m sure there is a place for her over at that other trash place call FOX .
Guess I’ll be flipping back and forth between President Obama’s Governor’s event and the Red Carpet and Oscars. But is the event with our President even going to be televised?
They usually have a pool feed of his remarks(released later), but that’s all, nothing live, I believe.
Thanks, lovelyplains.
NP, JER set me straight, I knew they had video of remarks every year but couldnt remember if it was a live feed.
7:10 PM – President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama Host the 2013 Governor’s Dinner at http://www.whitehouse.gov/live
Thanks, JER
I’m surprised they always schedule this on Oscar night—not that it’s earth-shattering, but I bet a lot of gov.’s wives, at least, would want to see the Oscar telecast. Michelle seemed a bit sad about it—-on Jimmy Fallon—-covered it up nicely tho with humor.
That’s why the DVR was invented!
I saw that, dotster3, surely she is recording it.
FLOTUS didn’t seem sad to me about missing the Oscars, she did say something about DVR.
I posted a link at bottom because I couldn’t find who asked about it. It will be live streaming at WH website. Look for my post towards bottom for time.
John Kerry leaves for his first overseas trip from Andrews AF Base later today. Rthis last nite, which I hope comes to fruition.
I always laugh when I see this—because my first confusing thought was ‘Pennsylvania and Israel enter a peace agreement’?
AHH.. the limits of 140 character twitter, gets me every time!!
That was exactly my thought too!!
Bob Woodward apparently did not even read his own book. This huckster is mad he lost access to WH, so no he is trying to sell books.
I think Bob Woodward can kiss the chance of every talking to this President again. I Woodward has been proven to be lying, like David Brooks.
I know Woodward don’t care, but he ought to care if he is telling the truth.
Hey you Twitter cats what does anyone know about this account. I see users with this Twibbon, is it in response to RWNJ’s getting liberal users suspended? Has anyone here joined this?
I dunno. But I don’t like being part of a pack. Unless it’s an Obama pack!
thanks for your reply Jacque. Just wondering about what this all was about.
I’ve been wondering, too!
#FORWARD
thx Bob – I was thinking that it was in answer to that problem I had seen with rwnj trolls.

Organizing for Action targets GOP lawmakers in first ad buy
oooo I see in the article that John Kline and Erik Paulson are getting targeted. Yay! I gotta go and check this out!
Yes We Can
YES! They need to connect the dots!
Yes We Can
Warrior Angel:)
Glad you did that, Bob. I thought about it but didn’t know how to fit it all in!

A late post regarding FLOTUS on Jimmy Fallon, starring AJ and Mr. AJ:
A few days ago…
AJ: Hey, on TOD, I saw FLOTUS will be on Jimmy Fallon tonight.
Mr. AJ: Well, according to Comcast, it says right here Stephen Colbert is scheduled to be on. No mention of FLOTUS.
AJ: Trust me, FLOTUS will be on tonight.
Mr. AJ: Look, the DVR says Stephen Colbert. They can change it at the last minute and they didn’t. Chances are FLOTUS won’t be on.
AJ: Care to bet?
:::::the next morning:::::
AJ: [checking the DVR] Hey, look, sweetie…FLOTUS was on!
Mr. AJ: uhm….how’d you do that??

I trust President Obama more than I trust Bob Woodward.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful memories of Fox News’s election night meltdown.
And I am not aware of any of the Sunday shows calling them on it. Will Morning Joe considering he was ranting using Brooks as his authority?
Don’t be silly on that Morning Joe thought. (I doubt it, although he’s up to something shady lately, so maybe.)
Just wondering. . .
Yes, I get a lot of them too, Carol. And, like you, just trash them.
What a waste of time and broadbrabpnd or whatever it is called.
Carol – don’t ever even think about opening such messages – they usually contain a virus and will access any email address lists you have & start sending the same message to all your email friends – or they will trash your computer.
No, but I’m sick of them. I want to trash them and warn others. Thanks.

Cousin Henry’s going to part-ay!!!! Lucky him. Hope he has fun.
I’m so glad they (President & Mrs Obama) are keeping close contact with Henry Healy. He did so much to plan that trip to Moneygall, and it brought so much joy to many of us here on TOD.
Yes, indeed the67. So happy for cousin Henry. May his trip bring him much joy and many memories with POB and our First Family.HZ
Alright Cousin Henry….can’t wait to see the video and pictures of your visit.

http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2013/02/24/1626801/debt-does-not-exist/
VIEWPOINT: The Debt Everyone Is Freaking Out About Does Not Exist
I believe the President and what he says. He says we have a long term debt problem and we need to keep investing in the short term.
I believe him!!
You forgot Benghazi! McCain will be discussing that one from the grave – cf Breitbart
They only have to look at Europe to see the result of trying to “pay down the debt”. It doesn’t work!
I heard Thom Hartmann saying the same thing a few weeks ago. We don’t have a debt problem we have a REVENUE problem.
Do you have the President’s back while he fights for equality? Show him you do by donating $10.00 or more today.” https://my.democrats.org/Marriage-Equality.

Woodward responds, still being a Dick-
Woodward pushes back: W.H. confusing, distorting facts on sequester
-/
Go get him on twitter and at the Post!!!
Once a creep, always a creep. That this mini idiot is taking on the White House is just insane and hilarious. Wonder how he gets his hat on with a head that big.
And look he told…Politico! Give me a break!
Is that GOPolitico?
What honor? Bob Woodward have no honor.
President Obama has his own “authors,” standing by and ready. The historians are already writing. One thing our President is NOT, and that’s dumb like Woodward and the others.
For those who don’t tweet, here’s Bob Woodward’s Wapo email: woodwardb@washpost.com
Very best wishes to our new SOS!!
This brings a smile to my face – I hope he enjoys this. He’s worked so hard, and he seems very invested in this job. I’m sure he’s going to do well.
Me too Theo – I think he’s going to be a great SOS
Worst story I’ve seen today, but guess it’s still early. Wow.
Yep. That pointy head gear means only one thing to me. I saw an objection somewhere saying they were just being “ghosts” or some “whiteout” thing for the game. But those don’t look like ghosts to me…..
Kids behave racially from what they observed and learned from their parents First and environment second.
and now ya’ll can see why I couldn’t wait to leave ND.
Maybe those kids need to be educated on who and what the KKK stood for and what they did. I know let’s let them talk to people who can tell them these things, let them see the things the KKK did to Blacks. Then let us see if they feel proud to wear that KKK hood, if they do then we know what we need to know.
That’s like someone putting on Nazi uniforms and going before Jews kids and everyone acting like it’s no big deal.
good morning from hawaii chips and tods!

Good day, susanne, to you in the Land of Obama from me here in the Land of Lincoln (and Obama!).
Health world braces for sequester
Sam Baker – 02/24/13 03:00 PM ET
Doctors and hospitals say the sequester’s Medicare cuts will cost their industries more than 200,000 jobs just this year.…
So, maybe the doctors and hospitals and all the others should march on Washington and take down the Republicans! Like tomorrow.
If I remember correctly, a number of doctors are very vocal supporters of these gop. didn’t reports say that a huge number helped put them in office in 2010 as a protest for ObamaCare – how is thier gop vote working out for them?
On Centric TV now:
UN World Peace Concert featuring Stevie Wonder and Friends…
Jindal: Delaying Obama healthcare law could help offset sequester
Meghashyam Mali
02/24/13 01:03 PM ET
Jindal said delaying Medicaid expansion and healthcare exchanges could save “tens of billions.”…

There are No facts that back this claim up, it’s bullshit!
They lie like they breathe.
Yes. And who cares if people in Louisiana need health care, in the meantime.
Oh, Bob, that was wonderful! Keep that one handy, sir. We’re gonna need it. And meta reminded me today, relating to Teddy Cruzbo, that: “There is an endless supply of paint.”
We’re armed with a whole arsenal of words at our fingertips!
We sure are, Jacqueline
Ha! That made me laugh
Bobfr, that was so brilliant!
The two of the are digging their way to HELL!
They make it so easy for the evil one.
McCain says Brennan hold possible over Benghazi questions
Bernie Becker
02/24/13 11:56 AM ET
“I don’t want to put a hold on anybody,” said McCain, “but the American people deserve answers about Benghazi.”…
-
He has deposed everybody in the administration, he has kept this thing going.
It’s the president he wants on the stand, and he will not stop until this President is in Jail.
That’s how nuts he is…?
Will somebody please ask him why he held a press conference on September 14 (after the first appearance by Petraeus) and said the Benghazi attack grew out of a protest because of the film. He said it, because that’s what Petraeus said days before Rice.
nuts powerless enraged way past reason
I wish PBO would just ignore him
McCain didn’t want a filibuster either – now that he knows that is gone – we have a hold. When does someone on the right call out this old f..t for what he is
ready for some music this beautiful sunday?
Love it! Thanks! And now back to my regularly scheduled homework
Yes We Can
Putting the ‘well regulated’ back in the 2nd Amendment ….
Yes We Can
Thank you so much for you tireless efforts, Bob
Like I said before, a true warrior angel. This is SUCH common sense….
#FORWARD
Maybe if the target shooting ranges would put images of the faces of little innocent (white) children on the spot where the bulls eye is situated, somebody might wake up. Then, again, their deaths haven’t had much of an impact on McCain and those like him.
I like this, Bobfr. It made me chuckle because I tried shortening this same message earlier in response to one of your tweets above and using the explanation you had provided, yet I couldn’t seem to hit the right tone in 140 characters! Now I know why.
Good job!
Thank you VC!! Feel free to use or modify any way you’d like. Cheers!!
Yes We Can
Lovely … wishing her a full and long life.

Robin looks nice.
Wow, beautiful.
Some sunday leisure, never visited the White House? Google took there street mappers and cataloged everything for a virtual tour.
It’s a whole new exciting adventure for him. That’s not mom jeans, is it? Ha!
he’s looking a bit scruffy and unkempt. i love and support him, and also too he needs some new casual business airplane attire for his new job. potus wears chinos, shined shoes, a collar shirt with a insignia jacket. the jeans are not appropriate, imho.
We need to get the word to him!
Has anyone here heard of or read this book – “Rough Crossings” by Simon Shama? This is a bit about it from amazon:
‘Rough Crossings is the astonishing story of the struggle to freedom by thousands of African-American slaves who fled the plantations to fight behind British lines in the American War of Independence.’
My son wants our family to do a book club on it.

No. But I am going to check it out. Thank you, Maryl1.
I wonder which languages (other than English of course) does SOS Kerry share in common with his wife Mrs Teresa Heinz-Kerry. I recall she was a foreign interpreter who speaks 5 (?) and SOS speaks at least 3 (?)
Kerry speaks French. Since he was raised Catholic, possibly, Latin…..too. The wife speaks at least 5 or more for the exact reasons you have written.
Can’t help but smile, having been raised Catholic, too, that most of us don’t actually speak Latin, we just refer to it, share quotes from it, and use it to find our root words! I was once the president of our Latin Club in high school, even represented our school at a Latin Convention in A.C. (how nerdy is that), back in the ’60s, and, in some ways, I remain the Queen of the Dying Art Form (and the dead languages) (just ask me).
If you have a gun in your home, the overwhelming odds are that a family member will end up being the shooting victim.
Another gun tragedy in America…..
collateral damage to the NRA
And then I read the story – nothing like spending the weekend with your father & a stolen gun – and still the GOP says guns don’t kill.
“Leave Ted Cruz alone! It’s hard out here for a Koch pimp!”
I TOLD you he protested too much:) If he’s squealing, dig deeper! Little POS.
Ted Cuzify didn’t have issues going after Hagel about his past? And now He weeps like the weeper in speaker, John Boehner?
Cry me a river, dude … we’re just getting warmed up ….
I wonder how in the world did someone like Ted Cruz get elected, surely Texas can do better.
The same way Rick Perry got elected – a bunch of bigots so undereducated and afraid that they elect people who are harming them every day and they don’t even realize it. Fortunately, TX is on a path of rehabilitation thanks to demographics and a bunch of energized young folk in places like Austin, San Antonio, Houston, & Dallas.
Joined the Sarah Palin school of “it’s not fair”
Oh, poor Ted Crud. We made him cry.
Putting the well-regulated back in the 2nd Amendment.
Yes We Can
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
