But do you know what we need even more? An overhaul to the tax system. We want a fair and efficient system — with more revenue for the Dems and less government for the Repubs. And you want to know how easy that is to accomplish? Very.
Don’t let the liars in Washington fool you. Or the shortsighted news readers on the TV and radio. Overhaul is as simple as a stroke of the pen.
How? Simply slash the outrageous tax breaks for the super rich. Before you tune me out, just consider this:
No more yacht write-offs (how many people do you know that have a yacht? You pay taxes to cover their write-off).
No more private jet write-offs (again, how many people do you know that have private jets? You’re paying for their write off with your taxes).
No more corporate off shore stashing of profits to avoid taxes (you have to pay taxes, why shouldn’t they?).
No more subsidies to oil companies thus giving them billions in profits with unfair write-offs like off-shore banking. (You’re paying for it with your taxes).
No more tax breaks to companies for outsourcing jobs. (Yes, we give a break if a company hires workers in a foreign land as opposed to a legal worker here in the states.)
No more giving free money to banks (too large to fail or jail) thus giving them even larger corporate writeoffs for managing the money they’ve been loaned).
What’s holding us back are loopholes that should never have been in existence in the first place. Their purpose has long since retired — along with the crooks who wrote them into the tax codes.
And just like the NRA who scares the Bejesus out of our elected officials when we talk any sort of gun control, the rich do the same if you threaten their loop holes.
Politicians think only the rich put money into their campaigns so the poor and middle class don’t matter. Ask Karl Rove how that went. Our vote is what they need even more than money. And our vote counts just as much as the millionaires’ or business tycoons’.

I’m not disagreeing with you on 2012. But I think the PL/MSM etc truly believe they can work their poison in a midterm when PBO is not on ballot more effectively than they could in presidential when he was on the ballot.
They may be in for a surprise in 2014 with the continuation of OFA and heightened vigilance of PBO voters. But we must be alert to all the potential stunts they will pull. And they will stop at nothing.
They are indeed following the media narrative that the 47% video is the sole reason for President Obama’s victory. No question that it had a big impact, but we know the INCREDIBLE grassroots organization of the Obama campaign was at the root of the victory.
That being said, Mr. Prouty deserves all the admiration and gratitude he is getting. I was VERY impressed by his interview with Ed. He is courageous, unselfish, honest. I hope the video of his interview goes viral and that he can wake up a certain number of people who have been voting against their interests for too long…
Mr.Prouty indeed deserves all the praise and gratitude for his courage and what he did in and of itself – I’m not contesting that.
But he should not be used as a weapon against our President and other Democrats running in 2014. Furthermore, the impact of 47% video should not be over-estimated. PBO was already had the momentum behind him when that video came out. The video simply reinforced the Obama Campaign’s definition of Mitt – a callous uncaring “businessman” who cares only about the very rich.

Toomey also gave a long list of wasteful government programs as though PBO is responsible for them all. He did not mention why the Republican House approves the expenditures for them or why he doesn’t introduce bills to stop them. The CPAC followers will fall for anything the speakers feed them.

As I’ve said before, it is my sincere hope that our AG, Kathleen Kane, takes him on in ’16. She is the state’s largest vote getter so far and she’ll have several more years to show her smarts. Since ’16 is a presidential election year, the turnout will be high, so I’ve starting to light candles that she will take him on. If she doesn’t we have a great Treasurer, Rob McCord who could run circles around Tommey. So I am keeping my eyes on possible contenders and will do everything humanly in my power to rid this state of the Toomey poison.

VC I opened two browsers, I use Chrome, and had now problem. The video is a new embed function I learned last night I noticed its the last thing to open when you load the thread….maybe try again and a few seconds? Or open using a different browser explorer in 1, chrome/firefox in the other that might help? Maybe AMK can help you if that does not work.
Hi LP. I opened Expl & Fox and the latter had the VPJoe vid. while the former didn’t. I am not complaining since I have both; I was just surprised to find that they both didn’t have exactly the same thing.
Incidentally I refreshed Expl. more than once and still don’t get the VP video. Oh well. I watched it on Fox while commenting with ‘youse guys’ on Expl.
