AlmaBlanca, ABSOLUTELY!! although, a random picture of wet PBO would be divine!! I’d also enjoy the one of him in shorts going up for a jump shot in basketball…

But, hey, since Chica does such a LOVELY job at this job of hers, I’ll be satisfied with her choice of random PBO travel pictures.

(Chica, I know that you keep saying you have a real job, but I think THIS is your real job, and THAT is your hobby!! )

You know GB, I am grown up and I still need teeth in some places! The President, even without some teeth, was a very good looking boy. You can actually see his confidence and his exuberance for life in his young eyes! He was ready to hit that ball out of the ball park.

The news seems to be concentrated on guns today – nothing like a Sunday to bring out the gun stories – but meanwhile apparently a Fox News reporter is refusing to name a source and saying

“My reputation as a journalist will be irreparably tarnished among my colleagues …”

Fox news reporters have NO reputation as journalists to lose – so that excuse should have no bearing on the situation.

I love that west wing scene too! You know I think it was Bob Cesca that said it once. Liberal were always complaining when Obama did not do some West Wing, Josiah Bartlet stuff and shame Romney on stage. This was the conventional consensus after the first debate. He was saying how we should not expect a television series in real life. I remember he wrote a follow up after the second debate saying all the stuff he said earlier “never mind”. It was exactly like the debate we saw in West Wing when Bartlet starts off strong, taking names and causing all kinds of damage to the republican candidate ( remember his staff was worried if the professorial or fighter would show up at the debate).

I mean who does not see the parallel with “First of all unfunded mandate is two words not one…” and ” please proceed governor”.

It’s like we’ve had our own West Wing show these past few years happening for reals! I mean is it only me that sees this.

    Jon Favreau and Sam Seaborn.

So, I’ve been working on the novel. And I’ve been doing some soul searching. As attractive as it would be to self-publish, the elitist in me wants to be chosen by a publishing house, even if it’s a small one. So I continue to revise, and once I have a 2nd draft, I’ll start shopping it around.

So, that’s my news for tonight. I hope to have a new piece up on the blog by tomorrow or Tuesday.

Thank you so much Chipsticks for all the trips to memory lane. I am so grateful that you created this blog for people like me who were fed up with the way President Obama was treated by the so called mainstream media. If it weren’t for TOD, very few of us would have known about the warm receptions the President and the First Lady received in Brazil, India and your beloved Ireland! Nor would we have known about the wonderful reception, especially from young people, he received in Australia. I am sure you will, in the future, post other memorable receptions President Obama received from other foreign countries he visited. In case you don’t have the time to do that, people can still go to the TOD archives and access them.

With all the Obama haters trying to re-write history, The Obama Diary archives, with all the wealth of information about President Obama, will always serve as a major counter to all the lies they may wish to spread. For that fact alone, we who support President Obama owe you a deep debt of gratitude! I am absolutely convinced that the meticulous record you’ve complied about President Obama, if preserved, will not be ignored by future historians.

Thank you JOB! I am a history buff. That’s why I am very much appreciative of the documented record of President Obama and his administration that Chipsticks and her lieutenants are compiling. If this record is preserved, future historians could not get away with writing negativity about President Obama; and especially neglecting to acknowledge the President’s warm receptions when he visited countries like Ireland, India, Brazil and Australia.

JOB, thank you for your spot-on tweet to one of the most honest and engaged historians of our times. Unlike the mainstream media, TOD has complied an impressive documentary record of the Obama presidency, including entire speeches given by the President, the Vice-President and the First Lady. Historians, interested in writing truthful history of the Obama presidency, cannot ignore TOD documents and simply rely on the heavily edited MSM documents.

Nicolas Maduro, chosen by the late Hugo Chavez as his successor as Venezuelan president, wins a narrow victory at the polls.

Mr Maduro, who was chosen by the late Hugo Chavez as his successor, won 50.7% of the vote against 49.1% for opposition candidate Henrique Capriles.

The electoral commission said the results were “irreversible”.

Mr Capriles said he refused to accept the result without a recount, and said he believed that Mr Maduro had lost the election.

4morefor44, I have been saying this for a long while. There are too many people who have inspired us all from all walks of life to be subjected to all the violence and mindless, pointless movies that are priced too high. Within a month or two they are on TV or bootleg the same day. There are so many unsung heroes that needs to be tapped into. Hopefully that will inspire some of our young people instead of the reality shows. I even argue with that concept. How can they be real if you know the camera is on? That makes no sense to me at all.
I have at least six people who have committed to go this week to see ’42’.
And while I am venting…..new actors are refreshing. The super stars should go back to basic stage plays and give the unknowns a chance to shine. I am really tired of Tom Cruz, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hanks, etc.,
They make all of this money and new actors are starving. i just figured out why I like Law and Order because they characters are new, refreshing and really make you believe. Their faves are a welcome change. I watch the repeats over and over because of the acting.

so proud of my “lilly white” father, who was a front line vietnam soldier (a 16-month tour) and has become a peace activist and huge supporter of president obama. he even was invited to an event based on his local o.f.a. work, and has a picture backstage with him and our president and their arms around each others shoulders. along with some childhood photos of him and my siblings and late mother together, i will forever cherish those photos. there have been some occasions when i’ve visited him and we’ve gone out for the night, and he engages “chickenhawks” similar to wayne lapierre, and it’s a thing of beauty to watch him verbally destroy those cowards. he keeps assuring me we’re going to win these battles as long as we keep focus on the “long game.” forward!!!

One day, a Latino will be president, but that person will not be Marco Rubio. To win the presidency, the first Latino will have to be very smart, visionary and exude charisma. Rubio has none of these. He is not smart, his vision is limited to his own personal ambition and he is off-putting, rather than charismatic. Such a person exists in the US, but he/she has not yet risen to prominence. It will happen, the right person will emerge and he/she will be a Democrat. Count on it.

    Interesting take. Bob???

    http://guncontrollogjam.blogspot.com/

One alternate approach of particular interest looks to Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution, which states:

“The United States…shall protect each … [state] against invasion and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.”

There are three points to note in this language:

    1. The Federal Government is not empowered to protect the requesting state, it has a Constitutional duty to do so.

    2. The entire Federal Government, and not just one branch, is given this duty. If Congress does not respond to the states’ request it seems clear from the language that another branch of the Federal Government must do so.

    • 80 desertflower
      April 15, 2013 at 10:01 am

      Sorry. Here’s #3

      3. What happened in Connecticut, and has become all too common in our country, clearly constitutes “domestic violence”. If the drafters wished the two clauses to be parallel they would have followed the word “invasion” with the word “insurrection”, not with the broader phrase “domestic violence”. The natural reading, then, is that the Federal government shall act when violence occurs and an individual state does not have sufficient resources to quell it. Gun control is in that category since regulation by an individual state easily is undercut by guns from other states being carried over open borders.

    • 81 Don
      April 15, 2013 at 10:16 am

Unfortunantely the people we are dealing with have such a warped view of the Constitution that makes it almost impossible to defend any well reasoned arguement you might have.

OT- Why is it that President Obama is never given credit, as was the case with Lincoln, JFK, and Reagan, for selecting his rivals to help him run the government. President Obama selected two of his major, 2008, Democratic opponents in the race for the Presidency: Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. As it turned out, for the past four years, they all worked together harmoniously. The fact that President Obama placed two of his key political rivals, in the two most important positions in the administration, convinced me that President Obama is secure in his skin, and he is not intimidated/ concerned with working with people who, at one time, were his rivals.
