Boom’s coming down!
Congrats LL on your Gold.

Hah! You, a Man U devotee quoting a scouser!
BTW, did you read Dirty Tackle’s piece about how pretty much anyone who has the money to afford Rooney doesn’t want him? Bayern was especially harsh.
Poor Wayne. He’ll end up with a little team yet, like Chelsea.
Is this true?? Fernando Torres becomes the first player ever to win the Champions League, Europa League, Euro Championships and World Cup.
And crikey, Rafa Benitez has now won the Champions League, #EuropaLeague, Uefa Cup, La Liga, Super Cup & Charity Shield.
You might keep him yet.
Heh, we don’t want him either, especially if Jose returns.
Now, I don’t know if Fernando Gingerbread is the first, but yes, a quick read of Wikipedia does confirm that he has won all 4 trophies.
I think Jose might become Moyes’ assistant at United, just so he can learn the trade.
Now now, bitterness doesn’t become you. Moyes will probably be able to do a Wenger and get Man U into the CL 16 years in a row. Won’t win anything, but hey!
See you here this time next year, buster (she says nervously).
Begin to worry if Moyes starts wearing puffy coats.
And, yes, I was thinking that about Rafa. Pudgy little bastard did good this season.
A warm tribute!!

I am disgusted with the dishonest journalism in this country. I wonder if it will be the same once POTUS is out of office. SMH!
If POTUS is a republican, they will treat him with kid gloves, as usual. If it’s a democrat, they will treat him ok IF that democrat plays the game and does a lot of schmoozing…
It was ugly when President Clinton was in power too. I remember those days. I’m sure President Hilary Clinton will face the same.
Well…how will the presstitutes report on this .
1. He is to passive
2. Wow he is to angry.
3. He is both passive and agressive.
Bingo. Right up there with the worlds oldest profession it is! Prez is up in 5 min. by my clock.
I just know that Pres. will completely level them. This is MY President!
Dan Rather – it’s true I was a Liberal but now I am a T Bagger! :).
Listened to the hearing as long as I could stand… enjoyed AG Holder- he’s exemplary imo… but couldn’t take the nonstop crazy repub all over the map bs questions. It is so obviously a witchhunt. Is it over?
I hope Rev Al does not have Tweety Twerp on his show.
Looks like Rev is too kind, Tweety love to hear himself and he is acting like he owns MSNBC, go to your bed Tweety
Well…my TV stays off then.
Since Rev Al did not want to bash PBO, he was probably forced to have Mattthews on his show so MSNBC can keep up its nonstop PBO bashathon. They are as unhinged as they were after the first Presidential debate (remember how long they milked that). This is all show business pro-GOP propaganda disguised as journalism.
The more they do…..the quicker MSNBC is tanking in the ratings. People are sick of their disrespect, the endless babblings and misinformation…..etc. But Karma Never forgets.
MSNBC is watched by democrats. If they go bashing President Obama UNFAIRLY 24/7, they shouldn’t be surprised if people tune them out.
And the more outrageous his statements, the more proud he looks of himself. Vomitous.

Initial CIA talking points email dated 9/14 – three days after the attacks in Benghazi.
Did you get a chance to hear AG Holder? The man is solid as/like a Rock.
I watched some of it…..
AG Holder was a former Federal judge. He knows the law as much as any one in this country. He is also from New York, which means that he is not easily intimidated by the likes of Darrell Issa and others. With his criminal background, Issa thinks all public officials act like him. Republicans should be ashamed for electing this man with a criminal record and then putting him in charge of a powerful Congressional committee.
So much for a dull & quiet second term…
Did you ever believe President Obama was going to be allowed to have a quiet second term? Not when Republicans control the House and the media is complicit in their foolishness.

Now how could there be 32 comments on this thread already when I had just refreshed my screen and chatting away on the last thread? Is there a back door that I don’t know about? Did y’all get together and do a ‘let’s get outta here, while she’s still running her mouth?’ Aha, found you anyway. So as I was saying…..what was I saying? Well nevermind that.
I hope that PBO points out that while he is prepared to care for the IRS issue, that Pubs had no issue when they actually requested an IRS probe on an organization. I hope he reminds them that they voted against what would have prevented this in 2010. Then, I hope he advises us all that Shumer will re-introduce that very same bill and pronounce, “Now I dare you a-holes to vote against it this time. What, you think I didn’t see this coming? You know you gotta get up way early in the morning to catch me sleeping?”
OK Chris Matthews is bipolar what the hell is up with him. Now he is defending the President about those who vehemently hates Pres. Obama yet earlier he was acting like one. Someone please help me understand what is going on and kudos to Bob Shum for sticking up for the President and being respectful
I noticed that…..typical BS from him,….
he is on RevAl’s program
Matthews is like a wind vane, Wherever the wind blows that’s where you will find him. He used to be anti Bill Clinton but now he is in love with Bill Clinton. First of all he is really not a journalist. Second, in my opinion, he is not very smart. He also probably doesn’t remember what he has said after he has finished talking because he talks so fast without posing to think about what he is saying.
Case in point earlier when they were talking about Benghazi he said the White House was more concern about the opinion of Michelle Obama and some other persons and I was like what does FLOTUS have to do with Benghazi he makes Glen Beck looks like a genius
I hope no one takes offense here, but let’s be clear , what Tweety did is what alot of people do, particularly some white people in my experience. They talk one way in company they are “comfortable/private” that they wouldn’t say in “mixed” company.
IMHO, this is what Tweety did. He knows Rev Al’s show and what Rev Al’s leaning are, so he left his “comfortable/private” sentiments at Hardball, and brough his “mixed” company sentiments instead.
BTW, did anyone else notice who was missing when Tweety went on his POTUS rant.. the lovely Joy-Ann Reid, who is usually a frequent guest on Tweety round this time. Now why wasn’t she apart of the convo on how “passive” POTUS is???
Oh, you’re right about not only Tweety but others who go on certain shows and “pretty up.” I’ve seen many of ‘em also go on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show and clean up their acts.
MSM is shameless and clueless.
My twitter feed has been busier than usual, filled with CRAP from MSM, mostly about the non-existent AP “scandal” with a sprinkling of IRS and Benghazi for variety. Just despicable.
Exhibit I in clueless:
First Gibbs, now… RT @stephenfhayes: On #Benghazi, David Axelrod tells @JoeNBC WH "would benefit from getting all of the emails out."— (@jmartpolitico) May 15, 2013
Clue: Maybe Gibbs and Axelrod are more plugged in than the GOP cheerleaders who get paid as journalists.
Here’s Chris Hayes’ take:

@SenatorReid @NancyPelosi we need a law that makes it illegal for #MSM, #NEWSTAINERS to broadcast lies. cc @Pfeiffer44 @PressSec— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) May 15, 2013
Well done Bobfr! We definitely need such a law. Canada and the U.K have such laws and the last time I checked both Canada and the U.K. are still a democracies. Just as an individual can’t hide behind “freedom of speech” guaranteed by the First Amendment, by “yelling fire in a crowded theatre,” the media should not be allowed to hide behind the First Amendment’s guarantee of “Freedom of the Press” by publishing or broadcasting lies. This should be especially true of the electronic media which uses the public airwaves.

Who’s speaking on whitehouse.gov now?
Now it’s a different person, but it was a man who said that the deficit is 50% lower, that PBO delivered on his promise.
I thought I heard him also say that the media is ignoring it.
I might have to duck right about now, but these last few threads have been off the chains on what the MSM is saying. What’s up with that? It’s as if we’re being called over to look at a train wreck. Why are you watching this stuff if it’s so upsetting? Why is it being reported on that the MSM has gone nuts, again? It’s getting kinda nuts, imo.
That’s not to be confused with giving a play by play of the hearings, or Jay’s presser. That’s different in that some folks are at work or are not able to see the action live. However, this constant OMGing over the MSM just causes issues worse than the heartache of psoriasis and the agony of da feet.
Ok ducking now.
Whoooo listen to the cameras clicking!
Well that was short and sweet. Now back upstairs to finish dinner with the family. Now can we get back to impeaching him?
Might I add that I don’t agree with the firing, but realize and understand the necessity of it.
Strangely enough, it puts me in mind of Ms Sherrod. /sigh/
yep, but one thing we know about him. he decides, acts, then moves on. sometimes a little too quickly for me, but I just sit behind a keyboard. the biggest decision i make is if I should log on before or after breakfast. smh
how slowly should he move
Until I can catch up. I wrote, ‘sometimes a little too quickly for me’. That’s me and no one else. Of course, at times a snail could lap me. Alas, it was a rhetorical statement, and not meant literally. That’s like saying, “_____________(fill in the blank)” See? That means nothing to anyone, except the person filling in the blank.
Don’t know anything at all about him (except what Google tells me), but Steve Miller was blaming two “rogue” IRS employees.
That undermines morale in an organization whose employees are often ostracized in the outside world.
For instance, at a party: You: “Hi, I’m VC and I work just down the street from here. And you?
IRS employee: Oh, I work at the IRS.
[everyone moves to the other side of the room, just in case talking to this person might result in an audit or being placed on a "watch list."]
PBO is right. New leadership with clear definition of how to execute assigned tasks is needed, not someone who throws his underlings under the bus.
I hear you, both. The sigh was only a thing of the moment. And BTW if I make it to a party (a very, very rare occurrence) I never discuss where I work.
If someone moved away from me at a party, I’d probably be too dense to catch the hint and follow them around the room.
(I don’t know how to cross out. If I did, I’d cross out dense and write drunk)
WORDS TO BE DELETED
No space between the delete command and the word/s to be deleted.
ex: too dense, drunk challenged to catch the hint
 the spaces didn’t seem to matter. Okay, here’s the ‘formula’ on separate lines.
2nd = stuff for the delete
This is really funny. I’m learning that placement of stuff doesn’t matter as long as I position the symbols. Okay, this time I’ll put the ending formula before the beginning formula and see if that helps . Ending portion = Beginning portion = same thing but without the slash, and the words to be discarded go between the two.
Hahaha! I’m sorry, but I never thought to have such fun botching this explanation after so many trials. Clearly I’m no tech teacher! [Don't mind me while I continue to experiment.]
enclosing the word ‘del’ to start and enclosing ‘/del’ at the end of whatever you wish to delete.
Okay, didn’t work again so I quit with tail between legs. Probably would help if I could remember how Amk explained it to me. Watch someone sensible come along and explain it briefly and effectively in one sentence.
okie dookie dokey
well that didn’t work. it’s me not your directions or formula. it was suppose to be okie dookie (line thru it) then dokey, the correction. No matter. That may have been only the second time that I wish I knew how to do that. Hardly worth trying to teach this old dog a new one
It really isn’t you, CM. It’s the embarrassed ‘teacher’. The pointed brackets (above the comma and the period) are a part of this but they never show each time I type them in in the explanation.
In the working environment – if we are doing our job – we should expect to be supported by our boss. Miller did not support his employees. They appear to have been doing their job. I would think PBO well investigated this – but – sigh – the Media (R, USA) just go on and on giving ALL the space to the GOP talking points.
Well now. There it is. Wonder what assholes Issa and Gohmert are gonna do to spin this.
For those who missed the briefing.

I hope the right wing loons realize that the wrongness was centered around the deliberate targeting of specific groups for further investigation. The fact of whether the right wing groups – or left wing groups – fits the definition of “non profit orgs” is still something that should be investigated thoroughly, given the fact that orgs like “Crossroads” and other political groups were making political donations and running ads, and trying to do it all without paying a penny in taxes for their political spending. That’s wrong, and it’s illegal. And if anyone is going to satisfy Boehner’s lust to put people in jail, then it should be Rove and his peers for committing illegal acts when they lied on their application forms.

So, I gather from my TL that Tweety is now “impressed” with PBO’s response. Fucking piece of shit asshole. (Pardon my French.)
He is on RevAl’s program
Your french sounds bien to me (or a moi or however you say it in francais).
That’s just for today. I bet you he will be back tomorrow hyperventilating over AP and Benghazi.
Sir, you french is perfect. I concur heartily.
My question, how long has this been going on, how many administrations? PBO now putting Congress, Dems and Repugs, on notice, do something! You have a responsibility to make government work. Not sure I agree with the firing, but our President evaluates every situation fully before he makes a decision. He is the only adult in the room.
Well if the IRS apologized then some one must have overstepped the boundaries of what the IRS could or could not do. But I do, however, agree with you that demanding proof from teabaggers claiming to be charitable organization sounds legitimate to me.
I just got off the phone with PBO. I had to let him know I got his back:
“Through the highs, through the lows’ we will always have his back. Here for the long haul
President Obama is truly the only adult in the room (h/t Black Water Dog).
The press tries to con their audience by stating as loudly as they can “the President is weak!”
Remember this from the height of the financial crisis (Mar 29, 2009):
MSM and GOP conveniently “forget” that the U.S. auto industry would have been put out of business if a Republican had been elected President.
So, from my TL, Tweety now thinks PBO is the bees' knees. Really, I'd love to see what he ingests on a daily basis.— Liberal Librarian (@Lib_Librarian) May 15, 2013

I think Matthews has a latent sexual attraction towards this President, and I’m not being snide or trying to be funny.

The three doofuses (doofi?) at the end of the sentence don’t deserve to be in the same sentence as the brilliant three men at the beginning of the sentence.

Told ya I am a prophet!!!!!
Hi TODers, I’m a regular lurker, occasional commenter. If the last few days have taught me anything, is that I need to resign from the “gloom-and-doom” wing of fhe Democratic Party. On Monday I JUST KNEW that the second term was over. I refused to listen/watch any news shows, and cringed whenever I went online. So I left it up to my friends on the pragmatic left, i.e. TOD, LL, Ed Kilgore, Smartypants, Steve Benen, etc., to carry the torch. And now? Two out of the three “scandals” end up big nothingburgers (IRS, Bengazi!), while the DOJ/AP incident, while troublesome on the surface, has one saving grace: THEY HAD A WARRANT! ! So let the GOPukes and the DC Village People faint from the vapors (looking at you, Lindsay Graham)…with you guys help, I’m Gonna Keep Calm and Carry On!! OBAMA!!!
The second term will only be over at noon on January 20, 2017. Anyone telling you something different from that is spreading nonsense.
Right On theo67. Right On.
If President Obama gets past these three “scandals” with public support, I believe he’ll be unstoppable. I think the GOP may have exhausted their cry wolf-ing.
This was pretty keen by POTUS and PR. The statement was televised and made right before the start of ALL the evening news programs and the local evening news.
So the news will report that POTUS “fired” the IRS Commish, but then they won’t be able to help themselves and will of course try to make it seem “bare minimun” (this is exactly what Michael Steele tweeted BTW) and will mention that even though the IRS Commish resigned, the real culprit was a Bush appiontee.
So in trying to score points against POTUS, all the public will hear is that POTUS thinks IRS thing is inexcusable, IRS Commish resigned and the original Commish was a Bush appointee.
Good job White House.
I’m mad as hell and I really don’t know what to say about all the bullshit that President Obama has gone through in the last few days.
Remember Don, he does not react the way we do about theses things. He looks at problems and takes a course of action without fretting and moves on to the business of governing.
Don, last few days. What’s up with you. Don’t you mean since he walk into that Oval Office?
I’m sorry anniebella, I’m old school, so “the last few days” could mean anything from a month to five years.
Okay I got you.
I take comfort in the fact he’s got a spine made of ramrod (thanks Joe B.) and they’re going to break long before he ever will. The Republicans scandals have crashed and burned in less than a week. And the media exemplified by Chris Matthews’ hysteria today is in meltdown. Yeah they’re going to crack. And PBO just keeps on going.

PBO: WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE LAWS ARE ‘CLEAR’
Obama calls IRS misconduct is ‘inexcusable’
By Steve Benen
“So here’s what we’re going to do. First, we’re going to hold the responsible parties accountable. Yesterday, I directed Secretary Lew to follow up on the IG audit to see how this happened and who is responsible, and to make sure that we understand all the facts. Today, Secretary Lew took the first step by requesting and accepting the resignation of the acting commissioner of the IRS, because given the controversy surrounding this audit, it’s important to institute new leadership that can help restore confidence going forward.
“Second, we’re going to put in place new safeguards to make sure this kind of behavior cannot happen again. And I’ve directed Secretary Lew to ensure the IRS begins implementing the IG’s recommendations right away.
“Third, we will work with Congress as it performs its oversight role. And our administration has to make sure that we are working hand in hand with Congress to get this thing fixed.
And we’re going to have to make sure that the laws are clear so that we can have confidence that they are enforced in a fair and impartial way, and that there’s not too much ambiguity surrounding these laws.
What do we do, though, about the fact that the tea party groups are obviously not “social welfare” organizations and are obviously political activists and that no one will ever be able to question the status of any of these Koch-funded groups again?
While the Jackals are never satisfied and claim this President takes to long to respond….Remember this ?
Too well. I remember it like it was yesterday. Twas a beaut to behold
Marilyn Tavenner confirmed by Senate 91-7 to head Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). She’s charged w/ implementing Obamacare. Her boss is Sec. Sebelius. Don’t know much about her except that she was then Gov Tim Kaine’s VA Sec of HHS & she’s supposedly pragmatic. Freaking post hasn’t had an appointee since 2005.
Now that’s a real scandal.
Ok, so who am I gonna get to stand in line at Wal-Mart bright and early on Friday to get me 2 advanced screening tickets to Superman??? Anyone, anyone…Beuller, Beuler.????
Angus King said he read those e-mails 6 weeks ago and the GOP’s got nothing.
Father in Jesus Name thank You for giving us this powerful man at this time. Thank You that at tomorrow’s press conference that he blows the naysayers, whiners, and all other enemies away! Thank You for being in President Obama’s corner at all times and vanquishing all the malicious, unkind and evilness away from him. Lord let him shine like the star that he is and that the truth comes out and be KNOWN. Protect his wonderful spirit oh Lord and continue to keep him winning. Shower Your Love and Power fiercely on him and keep him wise and strong! Amen
He does shine like the star that he is – and the only thing the GOP and the media(R,USA) do is to make that star shine brighter and brighter.
OT, but Trump on trial in Chicago for swindling a little old 80+ woman out of her money. It has something to do with her purchasing a condo or something in Trump towers and other properties. Well, after testifying again today, he thought he’d go for the MSM sympathy vote and started whining that the woman was very, very, rich but was trying to take his money. When the reporter laughed out loud in his face, The Donald looked all puzzled. The reporter said, “I believe you just saw my reaction to your comment.” Priceless.

Sorry but this ain’t cool at all!
Time for a little relief.
When you’re from the country, your perception is a little bit different.
A farmer drove to a neighbor’s farmhouse and knocked at the door.
A boy, about 9, opened the door.
“Is your dad or mom home?” said the farmer.
“No, they went to town” said the boy.
“How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?” asked the farmer.
“No, he went with Mom and Dad” the boy answered.
The farmer stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to
the other, and mumbling to himself.
“I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one, or I can
give Dad a message” said the boy.
“Well,” said the farmer uncomfortably, “I really wanted to talk to your Dad. It’s about your brother Howard getting my daughter Suzy pregnant”.
The boy thought for a moment…
“You would have to talk to Dad about that. I know he charges $500
for the bull and $50 for the pig, but I don’t know how much he charges for Howard.”
I love this!

maybe there’s something in the IG, which granted i haven’t read, that explains this, but i still have no idea why anyone would be in trouble for this. they are supposed to check out groups, and since they’ve done all kinds of liberal groups, even revoking the status for a liberal group (and not one republican group had this happen), why is someone in trouble here?!?
i guess a good thing is that if they put in place more checks and balances into the process, if god forbid, a republican becomes president someday, they won’t be able to use the i.r.s. to bully political enemies as they did in the past, now that the obama admin is adding extra policing of the process (guessing that’s what is happening).
