Morning all. I never tire of watching our President traveling around our country spreading hope and love.

The Senators each play the part. One says, we are outraged about IRS and want a special counsel oh and that’s the only one that matters.
Then, the next one gets in tv and says the only one that matters is the DOJ probe and he wants a special counsel.
Next one gets on tv and says, I want a special counsel for Benghazi and this is the only one that matter.
And all media follows suit, says the exact same thing over and over and over.
The media is in bed with the GOP!

    • May 26, 2013 at 12:20 pm

So funny you should say that, Jovie. I just posted a story saying exactly that. It’s a shame! We know Benghazi was a fluke and when I read the IRS investigative report, I could only ask…why is this being called a Tea Party scandal? Journalism no longer report the news, they create it.

KFOR live stream viewers: KFOR is now complying with the FCC-mandated requirement to caption IP-based internet video streams. This requirement, with a compliance deadline of March 30, 2013, means that we must caption all live video programming.
      ………

At this time, captions are not available to be turned off, unlike your television where that capability exists. We are looking at ways to make captioning selectable. Expect that functionality in the near future. Thank you!

MightyPamela and jacquelineoboomer, trust me, he knows and he is so grateful. My Sources( which HFineman is not match) are in places where they see, hear, and know of his beautiful and humble spirit of loving appreciation.

Like jacquelineoboomer stated, because we are walking the path with him, he sees us and we see him, and most of all he feels our sweet ‘goodness of human presence’. This helps POB able to move in this beautiful manner in times like these. He will be fine, and he wants us to be with him and also be with each other. That is how we all bring healing to the table for our nation. HZ

Beautiful people of OK, and especially Moore, receive the beautiful sweet fragrance of the comforting balm of goodness from your President today. Unclench your fists, if there maybe still some closed, and receive your blessings. They are right there in front of each of you to help you get through this.

We love you and we pray for a beautiful day for you, even though you all maybe feeling much pain. We are One, and we will all stand together. ((((((Lots of love, and please allow wounded hearts to receive it today and going forward.)))))))))HZ

Good Sunday morning, Chips and TOD family. Oooo la la does our President look good today (as usual). Did you folks see Asean Johnson from Chicago talking about Rahm and the school closings? OMG, he was little Barack, ears and all. Just a brilliant child and his mother was brilliant, too.

Good Morning TODville & chips. We had a surprise bar-b-que and Birthday Party for one of my girlfriends which keep us up all night long. I turned on the TV when I finally laid my head on the pillow this AM. I had the TV on ( it was watching me). I heard 9 yr old Asean Johnson voice talking about how once he becomes Mayor of Chicago he would get rid of Wal-mart because they don’t give back to the community and keep Walgreen’s since they give back . Immediately, I woke and re-winded that segment. I was so proud of him.

It’s funny Rahm can find the money for Daley Park, bike lanes, allowances of tax breaks for the mercantile exchange millionaires and billionaires, music, and a gym for Depaul basketball court in the loop. What Rahm Emmanuel needs to tell his millionaire and billionaire friends is to do their part . That would be the “UNCOMPLICATED” decision instead of talking about “TOUGH DECISIONS” that excludes an education for black and brown kids. So glad 9 yr old Asean’s cause got much needed attention today!!!

SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE

    The long game on post-partisanship

    By Smartypants

    ————————————-

You handily won re-election and gained seats in both the House and Senate. The Republicans tried a “rebranding” that failed completely and then started to fabricate scandals that went nowhere. Nothing seemed to be working for them and the harder they spun, the farther they fell in the eyes of the American people.

A few members of the opposition saw where all of this was headed and started to get worried. And so you launched a “charm offensive” (that’s what the media called it anyways) to try to develop a common sense caucus. Pretty soon your former opponent for the presidency was calling out the lunatics on the Senate floor and agreeing with you on some major policy initiatives. And the 1996 GOP presidential candidate said that the Republican Party “ought to put a sign on the national committee doors that says ‘closed for repairs’ until New Year’s Day next year — and spend that time going over ideas and positive agendas.” Ouch!

“By law, Obama has to nominate two Republicans to the CPSC [U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission that pays $155,000 per year].”

Buerkle is a “foaming-at-the-mouth full-on teatard who beat Dan Maffei in a squeaker for NY-25 in 2010.”

“If she takes this nomination, the next time she runs for Congress she’s going to have to explain how starving the beast is consistent with a $155K suckle at the government sugar teat. That’s how you solve a problem like Ann Marie.”

Love these chess moves (like nominating Hillary for Secretary of State), but are ignored by our lazy media.

I don’t often link to this site but this is an excellent article and deserves to be read far and wide.

    http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/05/25/so-much-for-fiscal-hawks-republicans-now-costing-you-tens-of-millions-to-save-a-few-million/

“Now, instead of the $7 million in renovations and upgrades, the cost to replace the collapsed bridge will run $15 million and take up to a year. The collapse will cost an estimated $47 million in reduced productivity and trade. With the current average tax revenue from this total for trade and productivity in dealing with trade to Canada to be around 22%, the result is that this bridge collapse will cost the federal government $10 million in revenue for the period of repair, which when added to the $15 million pricetag means that we are looking at a total impact of $25 million. All in order to save $7 million”

“The Republicans are no fiscal conservatives. They are no budget hawks. They do not understand that the government is not a business, and never can be. They operate on fundamentally different principles. A business is designed to maximize return to its investors, be they shareholders or the proprietor. A government is the opposite of this, and is designed to maximize productivity of its citizens. There are no “shareholders” to return profit to, so cutting in order to maximize profits is pointless, and only generates a drag on the economy. They simply do not understand economics, and that infrastructure investments are the key to growth.”

Some of the announcers’ comments are quite ‘sensible’.

Announcer remarked 242 disaster declarations by this President so far! Well in excess of the previous president.
    ……

“It’s like your parent tucking you in bed at night. It just makes you feel better.” One victim’s response when asked by announcer of what import is President’s visit.

  17. May 26, 2013 at 12:49 pm

Wow, does Booman nail it in this one! And read the comments – they are great and on point. I especially liked this one:

“Re: He Dislikes You Right Back (none / 1)
Thoughtful post, BooMan. I believe, though, that you put too much thought into it, when you were so close to nailing it in your second sentence. There is one adjective that summarizes the list of, “aloof, arrogant, detached, above-it-all, distant, [and] dismissive,” and that is, “uppity.”
The media thinks our first black president doesn’t show enough humility. Bush never showed an ounce of humility in his life, but he passes the test because the test never applied to him. He’s a political heir in a long line of them. He’s allowed to be arrogant, detached and dismissive because he’s one of our betters. Obama is uppity. He doesn’t know his place. He should be kissing their asses.

I guess I recognize the old dogwhistle keywords immediately, living as I do in a former Confederate state. It’s jarring to read Dowd, etc., working in that vein, but it’s also unmistakable. They don’t know how to respect the office when a black man occupies it. It’s the usual racist fuming.”

Good commentary from local reporters at the KFOR link. Glad the Governor was there to greet the President, when he arrived on AF1. The reporters said she’s been in the Oval Office for a meeting with him as chair of governors’ assn., and that “today’s a day to put politics aside.” I sneeked a peek at the KFOR Twitter feed in the sidebar, and saw three positive comments in a row – so stopped looking! I’ll imagine they are ALL positive, from this point on!

It’s somewhat annoying that the media has been so corrupted that they have made the issue of belonging to different parties a ‘necessary’ repetitive talking point even in the midst of tragedy. Over and over again! :-(

    • 98 proudofobama
      May 26, 2013 at 1:12 pm

It was also annoying how they kept trying to inject Bush into the story bringing up his going to NY with that damn bull horn after 9-11. As if that horrid man Bush could bring comfort to anybody. Like we can forget Katrina.

      • 99 vcprezofan2
        May 26, 2013 at 1:17 pm

That’s it, P of O. They have trained themselves to the point where they cannot seem to address an issue without, IMO, simplistic comparisons. They would do well to focus on the issue at hand, report what is happening, and in cases like these allow the viewer to make their own comparisons.

        • 100 jacquelineoboomer
          May 26, 2013 at 1:23 pm

Sometimes I think it’s a case of President Obama’s being so amazing and astounding, they can’t figure it out, so they must look to some lower-level comparison to work it out for themselves. In their pea-sized brains. You know how you might see or hear something and think, “What does this remind me of?” Well, they have no idea what he’s talking about half the time, he’s on such a whole different plane, a different altitude of spirit and intelligence, they try to bring him back down to their levels. I’m not saying it’s right or in any way pleasurable to watch, and half the damn time it’s subliminal or overt racism, but I do try to figure them out, and will continue to try!

          • 101 vcprezofan2
            May 26, 2013 at 1:43 pm

THIS is my assessment too, JO’B and there are times I pity them – the times when I think that some of them indeed ‘try to bring him back down to their levels’ to get a better handle on him because that’s all they do understand. It’s like rating a 21 century piece of communicative technology using the same criteria and vocabulary used to rate the tin cans + cord telephone and not even being aware that’s what you are doing. Sometimes I don’t think it’s really racism at all, just them trying to get a handle on someone who is far, far out of their known experience – white or colured. We can only use the words we know, after all, and IMO, from what I’ve seen many of them seem unwilling to seek to expand their ‘vocabulary’. It’s been over 4 years after all!

      Afternoon Cookem, my dear!
Consider this – my theory is, if that was the price to pay to be allowed to accompany Mr. Pres. I ‘d gladly pay it. In making the offer I was thinking of the greater fun in being able to look at him at closer range, hear and appreciate his voice up close, share in that compassionate aura that emanates from him in times like these, AND (get this) being able to laud it over TOD village later by sharing the details in periodic snippets. Much more fun than Cookemom and Hopefruit being sent imaginary winks and tweets and mental messages, and no sacrifice at all, because I’d probably be mute as a direct response to being in his immediate presence anyway.

Encouraging to my ego to know I’m not the only one who asks for repeats, sometimes more than once. I actually hate when I’m the only one there because I do not like personal chit-chat with people I don’t really know. Hi Everyone! Wanted to pop in to say a quick hello. Missed you guys yesterday as we had a bit of a health scare with my Dad. Mom had an ambulance rush him to the ER yesterday after he experienced shortness of breath and had so little energy he could barely sit up. Thankfully he’s stabilized. So far we know he’s suffering from extreme low white blood count and a pretty several urinary infection. They’re still evaluating tests results and it’s likely he’ll spend at least one more night in hospital.

I came home for a little break and a change of clothes before returning. Today is Mom & Dad’s 54th wedding anniversary. Not quite the romantic day they had in mind, but we’re blessed that they’re both together. My family feels blessed that would had emergency responders we could count on for help; a high quality hospital nearby; competent, dedicated healthcare professionals taking care of Dad and the rest of the family, as well as countless more “conveniences” that we in this country often take for granted until their absence is made plain. We are immensely grateful today and every day.

As the nation commemorates the solemn occasion of Memorial Day and the President’s visit to Moore, Oklahoma, I wish all of you peace and love.
