He sickens me, do people take him and his hogwash seriously? Really? I have never read or listened to him, until this post, never will again (unless Chipsticks makes me!) I’m turning it off early tonight, my dear friends, it has been a big week. Knee extension at 100%, working hard to get to 90 degrees flexion… And I do mean it is hard work! Hugs all around, sweet dreams!

Chris Hayes takes him seriously..always retweeting his crap…repeating his talking points on MSNBC, etc. And Hayes is occupying the prime time slot on MSNBC

I posted some stuff he had said today on Mour_ning Joke form Mediaite today. It was a total takedown of the media whiners. I had to take a double  to make sure it was The Dr. Howard Dean ;)

      • May 30, 2013 at 10:40 pm

You don’t say I guess he has a bone to pick with the media that goes back to his failed presidential campaign because he made reference to the media and their bs during that time and I guess the MSM wasn’t too kind with Dr. Dean. “Mour_ning Joke” :-D

As my grandmother used to say: “God Don’t Like Ugly.” She explained to us children that the “Ugly” God didn’t like was the ugly in the inside that made people lie, and do mean and hurtful things.

Thanks Chipsticks for that expose of Glenn Greenwald. To be honest, I used to like him when he wrote for Salon. But obviously he had already gone over the deep end and I just didn’t know about it. I don’t read him at all now (haven’t for years) and am sad to see that he’s a racist xenophobe. Kind of surprising that he has so much disdain for minorities when he himself is a minority (gay).

  14. May 30, 2013 at 10:37 pm

    Evening, TODers.

I am, quite frankly, too pooped to pop.

Finally caught up on all the news because I was out of pocket for most of the day.

I’m more than relieved that the armed march on DC has been cancelled. That was just a disaster waiting to happen.

More than interested in what GG defenders will throw your way, Chips. You know they can broach no criticism of their God. He seems to have been getting more grief even than usual this week. He might have a psychotic break. (And really, how long will The Guardian put up with his act? I used to have a high opinion of that paper.)

I’ll stick around for a bit, but bed is very inviting. Hope to have an essay up for tomorrow.

    • May 30, 2013 at 10:39 pm

Hiya LL, the GG Groupies already turned up on the Twitter machine, but fell strangely silent when presented with their God’s very own words of support for Bush and the Iraq War. They’ll still worship him, though….. and we’re called cultists?!

      • May 30, 2013 at 10:41 pm

And, of course, PBO was against the war from the get go. So, yeah, there’s that.

        • May 30, 2013 at 10:43 pm

Sssssssh, enough with your pesky facts!

          • May 30, 2013 at 10:51 pm

Here’s the question: Can anyone tell me what, in fact, for all of his ranting, Greenwald has accomplished? One thing? I mean, if he wants to just skim the goobers, that’s fine; if it’s all a con to get on TV and in papers like The Guardian, well, the world does have its fair share of folks like that. But he proffers himself as offering solutions to the muddles in which we find ourselves. What has he done to have those solutions implemented? He didn’t vote before 9/11; I voted the very first chance I got after turning 18, and I vote in elections big and small. If you can’t be bothered to exercise your most basic civic duty, why should anyone follow anything you say?

            Great job Chiparoo.

Chipsticks, GG is truly despicable! Rather than defend (or apologize for) his racist dribble in his writings, he hides behind calling people who exposed him “Obama cultists.” The Irony, of course, is that it’s his cult (or as you said his “Groupies”) that he is trying to confuse and appease.

From the bottom of the previous thread ….

I don’t watch cable or TV as all of you know. My only familiarity with these folk are from viewing videos. But, if I wanted to dominate 5-10p ET (CT, MT, PT & Hawaii time zones) & Sunday mornings, on broadcast & cable ‘news’ it would be really easy to do and that tweet is how I’d begin.

Can think of many bloggers that I’d recruit for various segments and some highly interactive participation by viewers.

The majority of Americans are HUNGRY for FACTS and relevant – to their lives – context. President Obama has proved that to be true, not once, but twice. And, he did so despite the incessant NOISE of the majority of what was broadcast on radio & TV and transmitted via cable.

    Yes We Can

It seems to Greenwald if you support the President of the United States you are a “cultist” – guy should get involved with some real cults one day (or have his family involved) – then he will have to apologize again for what he has said

Before the missus and I finally joined our money, she would pay for a yearly membership at Sam’s Club. Once we merged our finances, I said, “Look, now it’s my money too, and this is why we shouldn’t keep that membership and shop there.” However, we’ve ALWAYS had a Costco membership.

      • 81 kfreed
        May 30, 2013 at 11:36 pm

Robert Greenwald is the producer of “Koch Brothers Exposed” and not related to Glenzilla in any way, shape or form… while Glenn Greenwald was consistently referred to in the press as “Libertarian Glenn Greenwald of Cato Institute” (big time Koch baby) BEFORE they tried to pass him off as a progressive (see also the Exiled’s expose on Arianna Huffington):

        Greenwald: http://exiledonline.com/glenn-greenwald-of-the-libertarian-cato-institute-posts-his-defense-of-joshua-foust-the-exiled-responds-to-greenwald/

        Huffington: http://shameproject.com/

Liberals are being duped by right-wing moles for the purpose of obstructing President Obama’s agenda and were hoping to get him booted out of office if not managing to impeach him outright. That failing, they’re trying to shove progressives toward supporting “Libertarian” right-wing Tea Party douchebags like Ron and Rand Paul.

Thanks Kfreed for sharing these links, which are eyeopeners. Some of us here in CA know that Arriana Huffington, a consistent right winger in the 80’s and 90s, is a fraud. She was a vocal right wing Republican up until the time when G.W. Bush’s administration started unravelling. While I knew Robert Greenwald from his movies and documentaries, I had absolutely no idea of who Glenn Greenwald was, until some guy suggested I read his book “What would a patriot do….” My friend was effusive about the book, but I found it to be a very shallow book, with catchy phrases. I know regret the money I spent on his book.

This is second-hand info but the source is very reliable (Jeff Gauvin @jeffersonobama). Apparently, Martin Bashir featured a guest panel which included Joy Reid and Rev Eric Dyson – and the panel defended Eric Holder against the latest AP/MSM manufactured “scandal.”

Greenwald decided that he was going to single out these three (Bashir, Reid and Dyson) and attack them for their defense of Holder.

The Health and Human Services Department has spent $3.7 billion so far on grants to the 17 states that are setting up their own exchanges.
The healthcare law provides an unlimited budget for those grants, and HHS has said it expects to have spent $5.7 billion on grants by the end of next year.
HHS cannot use that money, however, to set up a federally run exchange in the 33 states that opted not to build their own marketplaces.

    _\

See? This is why they are doing it, no
Money to implement exchanges in the 33 states.

  31. May 30, 2013 at 11:24 pm

    Thank you.

Greenwald’s past belies his claims of “principled” purity. The Exiled Online has several interesting exposes on Libertarian Glenn Greenwald of Cato Institutute if anyone’s interested – which expains his love for John Birch Society racist and religious right fundie Ron Paul: http://exiledonline.com/glenn-greenwald-of-the-libertarian-cato-institute-posts-his-defense-of-joshua-foust-the-exiled-responds-to-greenwald/

Oh and then there’s his Tea Party shilling: http://blog.reidreport.com/2011/04/re-rise-of-the-naderites-glenn-greenwalds-third-party-dreamin/

As if his shilling for Ron Paul amongst progressives wasn’t sufficient to reveal his non-progressive ulterior motives. He’s a Koch mole (THE source of the “both sides” meme for those on the right wishing to outrun their past appreciation for war criminal George W. Bush). If you’re going after Glenn (which is easy enough to do), it’s important to be factually correct. While most of this is true, in 2005, neo-Nazi Matt Hale was already in jail for plotting to kill a federal judge. But he wanted his mother to pass an encoded note through Glenn to one of his supporters. Glenn declined.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/09/national/09hale.html?pagewanted=print&position=

Glenn’s real defense of Hale came in 2000-2001 when, before he actually represented him (as he had every right to do), he went out of his way to attack black and Jewish victims who were shot by Hale’s associate, Ben Smith. He called these victims (and the civil rights lawyers representing them) “odious and repugnant.” Not only that, but while defending Hale in civil suits in 2001, he was found to have been illegally and unethically wiretapping witnesses.
