Go Your own way
I heard their first recording of ‘You Can Go Your Own Way’ and many subsequent performances and recordings of it, and what so impressed me is how much they grew through the years, this 1997 performance being evidence of that fact. Amazing.

BEIJING — In a rare case of gun violence in China, a man fatally shot five people and beat a sixth to death, including some of his factory colleagues and a soldier, police said Sunday.
The 62-year-old man’s killing spree started when he used unspecified tools to beat a colleague to death over an economic dispute, according to Shanghai police. The man identified as having the surname Fan killed his colleague on Saturday afternoon at a chemical factory in Shanghai’s Baoshan district, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau said on its microblog.
The bureau said Fan then took a hunting rifle that was hidden in his dormitory, asked a driver to take him to another district and then shot him on the way. After killing the man, Fan drove the vehicle back to Baoshan and killed a soldier who was guarding the entrance to a barracks. He also took the soldier’s gun.
Fan then returned to the factory and fatally shot three more people with his hunting rifle, including a manager. Police said they captured him in the factory about six hours after his killing spree started.
Guns are hard to come by in China. Firearms are tightly controlled and private ownership is for the most part illegal.
POTUS sister who was with FLOTUS, Malia and Sasha in Germany. What was her name? And do she stay in Germany? How many brothers and sisters POTUS have. That would be his Dad’s children.
Her name is Auma and she studied in Germany and she lived in England as well; not sure where she is living now. PBO has two sisters (Maya and Auma) and I think three brothers; George, still in Kenya, and Mark, who lives in China are the ones that I know of.
President Barack Obama has a total of ten half-siblings from his mother’s two marriages, his father’s four, and another two from his former stepfather, Lolo. He is the third eldest of the ten.
The eldest of the brood is Abon’go (Roy) Malik Obama, born in 1958. He is the first child from the marriage of Barack Obama Sr. and Kezia Obama. President Obama has a close relationship with Malik, and both served as the best men in each other’s wedding. He currently runs an electronic store in Nairobi, Kenya, but also owns a Washington-based consulting firm. Kezia gave birth to a daughter in 1960, Dr. Auma Obama. She is a London-based educator.
Obama Sr. married schoolteacher, Ruth Baker, five months after his divorce to Ann Dunham, the mother of President Obama. The relationship produced two sons, Mark Okoth Obama (1965) and David Opiya Obama (1967-1987). The couple filed for divorce in 1973, and Ruth remarried a year later to Tanzanian businessman, Ndesandjo, and the two boys took his name. Mark, who holds a BSc (Physics) from Brown, an MSc (Physics) from Stanford and an MBA from Emory, runs a China-based internet consulting firm. His brother, David, died tragically in a motorcycle accident in 1987.
While still married to Baker, Obama Sr. is alleged to have sired two more sons with his first wife, Kezia. Abo Obama, who now runs a retail outlet in Kenya, was born in 1968. Naturalized British citizen, Bernard Obama, meanwhile, was born in 1970 and currently lives in Bracknell, England.
President Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, remarried in 1965 to Indonesian Lolo Soetoro and from that union, Maya Kassandra Soetoro was conceived. Born in 1970, Maya is very close to her half-brother Barack, and was a key figure in his 2008 campaign. The educator currently lives in Honululu, Hawaii, with her husband and daughter.
The last of the brood, George Hussein Onyango Obama, came in 1982, six months before Obama Sr. died in a road accident, from a relationship with fellow Kenyan, Jael. George currently resides in Huruma, Kenya.
President Obama technically has another two half-sisters. After the divorce of his former stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, and mother, Soetoro remarried and had a son and a daughter, Yusuf Aji Soetoro (1981) and Rahayu Nurmaida Soetoro (1987).

Jill Scott ~ A Long Walk: youtu.be/TSYMKUtNuw8— Dudette (@Dudette9t9) June 23, 2013
This is the last word on Snowden as far as I’m concerned:
“One who breaks an unjust law must do so openly, lovingly, and with a willingness to accept the penalty. I submit that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for law.” -MLK, “Letter From Birmingham Jail”
These days everything get mixed up! Whistle blowing, as noble as it may be is not an act civil-disobedience. Rather the whistle blower exposes illegal, shady, or unethical conduct. Definitely leaking classified legal government documents, and then fleeing to another country, has absolutely nothing to do with civil disobedience or whistle-blowing.
1. Civil disobedience is the OPEN refusal to obey unjust laws accompanied by the willingness to pay the penalty for disobeying the laws. Obviously, the goal of civil disobedience is to expose the immorality of unjust laws with the hope that the exposure will bring about change-i.e. the repeal of the unjust laws.
2. Whistle-blowing is all about bringing to light unlawful conduct or unethical behavior, such as lying to the American people to justify waging war against another country. Whistle-blowing is never about changing existing law. Rather, it’s always about following the law or making sure that people in government are conducting themselves ethically.
3. Leaking classified information, which is being legally and ethically conducted, to the Press and foreign governments is, in my opinion, neither an act of whistle-blowing nor an act of civil disobedience. This is especially the case if your sole motivation for the leaks is because you hate the President and his policies. Leaking classified information that endangers the security of the nation, and especially sharing that information with another country that could potentially be an enemy, is, in my humble opinion, a pure act of treason.
This is why I find it so gross, and frankly disgraceful, that people like Chris Hayes want to compare what Snowden did with what Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did, when they engaged in civil disobedience in order to expose the injustice and inhumanity of segregation laws. I hope people like Hayes won’t argue that Rosa Parks and MLK endangered the security of the United States by openly refusing to obey segregation laws. There is one reality that they can’t even argue: neither Rosa Parks nor Dr. King escaped to another country (or to the North for that matter) once they decided to disobey Southern segregation laws. Instead, they courageously faced the penalty of disobeying those unjust laws.
Exactly right, nathkatun! It makes me sick that anyone would name them in the same breath with him!

MORE: Hong Kong says NSA leaker Snowden has left for a "third country" http://t.co/iNUheTLrKJ -CC— The Associated Press (@AP) June 23, 2013
US intelligence fugitive Edward Snowden has flown out of Hong Kong, the Chinese territory’s government has confirmed.
The South China Morning Post quoted “credible sources” as saying he was due to arrive in Moscow on Sunday evening.
It said Moscow would not be his final destination.
“Mr Edward Snowden left Hong Kong today (June 23) on his own accord for a third country through a lawful and normal channel,” the Hong Kong government said in a statement.
On Saturday, the White House contacted Hong Kong to try to arrange his extradition, but the territory’s administration now says the documents submitted by Washington did not “fully comply with the legal requirements under Hong Kong law”.
As a result, Hong Kong says it requested further information from the US Justice Department.
However, the statement goes on: “As the HKSAR Government has yet to have sufficient information to process the request for provisional warrant of arrest, there is no legal basis to restrict Mr Snowden from leaving Hong Kong.”
The statement says Washington has been informed of Hong Kong’s decision.
A statement did not identify the country, but the South China Morning Post newspaper earlier reported that Snowden had left on a flight for Moscow.
The statement also said the government of Hong Kong had asked the United States to explain reports it had hacked into Hong Kong computer systems.
“US whistleblower Edward Snowden has left Hong Kong on an Aeroflot flight to Moscow, credible sources have confirmed to the South China Morning Post,” the newspaper, which has carried exclusive interviews with Snowden in Hong Kong, said in a brief report on its website, which the AFP news agency quoted in its story.
“Moscow will not be his final destination,” it said, raising the possibility of Iceland or Ecuador as Snowden’s final destination… The flight is due to land at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport at 5:05pm (1305 GMT), according to the airline’s website.
But Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said on Sunday that he was unaware of the location or plans of former the NSA whistle-blower.
“NSA leaker Snowden on flight to ‘third country’ via Moscow with WikiLeaks help”
WikiLeaks are aiding the ex-CIA employee with his political asylum bid in a ‘democratic country.’
It is understood that Moscow will not be Snowden’s final destination, he could potentially fly on to Ecuador or Iceland where he has allegedly applied for asylum. A diplomatic source told the Russian news agency Itar-Tass that no request for asylum in Russia had been received from the former CIA employee.
Citing a source close to Snowden, Russian news agency Interfax reported that the whistleblower’s final destination will be Venezuela with a transfer in Havana, Cuba
“He chose such a complicated route in the hope that he would not be arrested on the way to his final destination of Venezuela,” the source told Interfax.
