Morning all. Wonderful coverage Chips. Holy buckets that MSM is in a sorry state. What a good thing it is that there is someplace to see our President you are truly doing service work and I thank you.

Also it is a beautiful day here in the Northland. I’m sitting in the backyard drinking coffee, chickens are out free ranging. kitty kats are out sunning themselves in the morning light.

One piece of advice: Never let your chicken walk across your keyboard. It does funny things to your computer. :-)

Attorney Washington: Civil Rights Activists Defending Paula Is Insulting
    By: Daryl K. Washington

I’ve finally had the opportunity to review the complaint filed against Paula Deen. For one, many people have been making this incident about the “N” word only, but it’s much more than that. I personally find it to be offensive whenever someone from another race is accused of using the “N” word they are somehow given a pass because of the use of the “N” word by some in the black communities. Let me be the first to say that I find the use of the word by anyone to be wrong. However, when it’s used in a racist or insulting manner, it hurts more.

I think individuals who are trying to defend Paula Deen’s use of the “N’ word should probably familiarize themselves with all of the facts of the case against her. Just so you know, in case you didn’t know, the person who initiated the complaint against Paula Deen and her brother is not “Black.”

She is a “white female” who was subjected to years of abuse and was finally fed up with her black employees being treated like animals, so stop thinking it was a black person complaining about Paula Deen’s use of the N word. Furthermore, Paula Deen indicated that she used the N word over 20 years ago. That is not what’s being alleged against her. That lady is something else and I’m glad I never supported any of her ventures. I personally find it insulting that so many black people are coming to the defense of Paula Deen after reading what she and her family subjected their employees to. When I learned about the major companies dropping Paula Deen without being demanded to do so, I knew it was deep. The fact that any civil rights activist is supporting Paula Deen is insulting and is a slap in the face.

Great article. Paula and her brother sound like horrible people. She’s getting exactly what she deserves. Too bad this couldn’t have come out earlier.

I read most of it as well; that woman, her family and friends do not come off well for a host of reason. PD acted many times as if she could not remember important meetings and events, but she remembered everything about the plaintiff that she twisted in many ways. She is dripping with stereotype southern charm one minute and vindictive (iron fist in a velvet glove) the next. It was a train wreck. karma has come to visit and she is staying for a while.

    • June 30, 2013 at 12:48 pm

I just thought of that possibility, myself. Who knows. Soon, there will be no cable “news entertainment” channels to watch, if they don’t get their act together. We made their ratings, and we can and are breaking them, in the meantime.

Dudette, I love Reggie also. He knows my oldest great niece. Beautiful young man indeed.
The young man who is now President Obama’s ‘Personal Assistant is Marvin Nicholson. He plays golf with POB most of the time. He and Reggie were talking on the rope line several times. Wonderful to see all of these brilliant young minds around our President. Reggie is a sweetheart.

Dudette, do you remember that photo(I think in TX) where POB is standing behind the young man and tipping the scale as the young man is checking his weight and he has no idea that POB is tipping the scale? Well that is Marvin Nicholson on the scales. Reggie is also in the photo along with our ‘Sliver Fox'(SS).
Well, that is Marvin on the scales.HZ

In the Reuthers live stream is that huge crowd there for the President’s speech or is that something else?

  60. June 30, 2013 at 1:05 pm

I found this article today, refuting silly Republicans saying they aren’t racists because Party of Lincoln! It gives a good historical review of the southern strategy, which everyone here already knows, but the part I found really interesting was this-

“What the “Southern strategy” essentially does is it identified the fact that African Americans were voting for Democrats, therefore Republicans decided they would make white voters more aware of this fact in hopes of driving the “white vote” towards the Republican party.
Doubt me? Let’s look at a comment from a 1970′s interview in the New York Times with Richard Nixon’s political strategist:
“From now on, the Republicans are never going to get more than 10 to 20 percent of the Negro vote and they don’t need any more than that…but Republicans would be shortsighted if they weakened enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans. That’s where the votes are. Without that prodding from the blacks, the whites will backslide into their old comfortable arrangement with the local Democrats.”
Essentially it was the Republican party saying, “Look, blacks are voting for Democrats so you white people need to vote for Republicans—the party that will represent whites and oppose the blacks.””

I hadn’t heard it laid out precisely that way before.

I switched to the CBS stream when MSNBC cut to their anchor and caught a glimpse of Reggie near PBO as he was shaking hands.
