Two bumper stickers I saw yesterday in Maryland:

“Don’t Ever Vote Republican” This was homemade, in rear window of older lady’s car.

    “I Love Obamacare”

UT, so much good reads here. Thank you.
I forgot to mention that POB’s smile on the last post was classic.
My caption would be: “ABOUT DAMN TIME, MFers!” ABOUT DAMN TIME!

Thank you, Mr. President for your patience, humility and knowing when to smile the right smile at the right time.

This is evidence of such jealousy of the man who is President NOW back then. I believe that he knew Obama was on his game and had it together but that green-eyed monster took over his thinking.

Now, more than ever. I still cringe when my husband had to talk to our boys. They were so young and innocent. I think they though he was joking at first and it was hard for them to believe what he was saying to them at that time.

This is probably why the prosecution and defense did not make this case about race. We all know that Zimmerman profiled targeted and killed Trayvon Martin. Main issue was SYG.

The old (white) guy was found guilty in Wi. of shooting the 13 yr. old (black) kid whom he suspected of stealing from him. Helped that they had the shooting on tape (or at least old guy approaching kid with a gun pointed at him) from old guy’s own surveillance camera. Took the jury about 2 minutes to reach a verdict.

Amazing….it take a video tape to convict AND a confession to convict someone who shoots an unarmed black kid. I read the old man confessed while he was been handcuffed by the police.

Prosecuting attorneys from the Tryvon trial I’ll bet.

How Do Court Reporters Keep Straight Faces?

These are from a book called Disorder in the Courts and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while the exchanges were taking place.

ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning?
WITNESS: He said, ‘Where am I, Cathy?’
ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?
    WITNESS: My name is Susan!
    _______________________________
ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?
    WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks.
    ____________________________________________
    ATTORNEY: Are you sexually active?
WITNESS: No, I just lie there.
    ____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: What is your date of birth?
    WITNESS: July 18th.
    ATTORNEY: What year?
    WITNESS: Every year.
    _____________________________________
ATTORNEY: How old is your son, the one living with you?
    WITNESS: Thirty-eight or thirty-five, I can’t remember which.
ATTORNEY: How long has he lived with you?
    WITNESS: Forty-five years.
    _________________________________
ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?
    WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?
    WITNESS: I forget..
ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something you forgot?
    ___________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn’t it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn’t know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?
    ____________________________________

ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the 20-year-old, how old is he?
WITNESS: He’s 20, much like your IQ.
    ___________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?
    WITNESS: Are you shitting me?
    _________________________________________
ATTORNEY: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?
    WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And what were you doing at that time?
    WITNESS: Getting laid
    ____________________________________________

ATTORNEY: She had three children , right?
    WITNESS: Yes.
    ATTORNEY: How many were boys?
    WITNESS: None.
    ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
WITNESS: Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?
    ____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
    WITNESS: By death..
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
    WITNESS: Take a guess.
    ___________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
WITNESS: Unless the Circus was in town I’m going with male.
    _____________________________________
ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition notice which I sent to your attorney?
WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work.
    ______________________________________
ATTORNEY: Doctor , how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All of them. The live ones put up too much of a fight.
    _________________________________________
ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go to?
    WITNESS: Oral…
    _________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 PM
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.
    ____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Are you qualified to ask that question?

    ______________________________________
    And last:

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
    WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
    WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
    WITNESS: No..
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
    WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

A Washington state man who fired a shotgun to scare away people he thought were breaking into his car pleaded not guilty Wednesday, citing words uttered by Vice President Joe Biden as his defense.

“I did what Joe Biden told me to do,” Jeffrey Barton told KOIN outside a courtroom in Vancouver. “I went outside and fired my shotgun in the air.”

By Daniel Trotta and Bill Cotterell

NEW YORK/TALLAHASSEE, July 17 (Reuters) – A member of the jury that found George Zimmerman not guilty in the shooting death of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin called for changes in Florida’s self-defense law, which she said gave jurors no option but to acquit the defendant.

The juror’s statement adds to pleas from around the country to change the Stand Your Ground laws that more than 30 states have adopted. In Florida, demonstrators occupied a part of the governor’s office demanding that the state repeal or curtail its 2005 law.

    http://www.citizensforethics.org/press/entry/crew-names-the-worst-governors-in-america

“CREW’s research reveals many state leaders aren’t always looking out for their constituents’ best interests,” said CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan. “It seems some governors are more interested in what their states can do for them rather than what they can do for their states.”

The report divides governors into three tiers — those who are the worst of the lot, those whose conduct raises serious questions about their leadership, and those who engaged in some conduct troubling enough to suggest their actions merit close scrutiny.

The six worst are Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, Maine Gov. Paul LePage, Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Florida Gov. Rick Scott, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

The middle six are Kentucky Gov. Steven Beshear, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, and North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory.

Finally, those governors worth watching are Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder.

    No surprises here!

    Flipping fruitloop.

    http://crooksandliars.com/john-amato/rand-paul-loves-filibuster-will-keep-ra

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) on Tuesday defended Republicans use of the filibuster, saying the tactic was necessary to prevent the nomination of extremists like MSNBC host Rachel Maddow. Republicans have filibustered dozens of President Barack Obama’s executive nominations, delaying the confirmation of heads of multiple government agencies. Paul said he also plans to hold up the confirmation of James Comey for FBI director over the use of drones.

“I think the leverage of using the filibuster to get information and to make the President obey the law, I think it is a very important tool and our Founding Fathers put it in there for precisely this reason,” Paul said on Fox News.

“For that reason, to call attention to what they’re trying to do, especially if you’re in the minority you an do that and, frankly, if you didn’t have a filibuster, what would stop President Obama from appointing say Al Sharpton as attorney general or Rachel Maddow on the Supreme Court,” host Eric Bolling added.“Right,”
