Hahahahahahahahahaha…..that’s funny Chips. They’re almost as obsessed as the GOP is with what a woman’s vagina can do.

It’s unbelievable UT!!! Every time I clicked on CBS or CNN’s live streaming today there was live coverage of the front friggin’ door!!!!!!!

      • July 23, 2013 at 12:26 pm

I was able to watch BBC World for five minutes last night. It started with the reporter in front of the hospital breathlessly reporting that the Royal Couple might descend some time today, and then followed up with reports about how the world thinks this is the importantest, awesomest news ever. Even the business report was about the freaking baby. I decided to read after that.

Time for you to pen that 5000-word essay on Royal Baby Prince George….

        • July 23, 2013 at 12:32 pm

A wise move, LL! I watched some of the coverage on Sky News and it was absolutely friggin’ hilarious. The reporter ran around hysterically shouting at the crowd “IT’S A BOY! IT’S A BOY!” (They already knew). And about the first 10 people she tried to speak to were tourists with almost no English. Then she found a guy who said he was “soooooooo disappointed” it was a boy, he wanted a “woman”, at which point the Sky reporter withdrew her mic. Comedy gold.

A word of caution: Someone is very offended by our constant mockery of the Press’ coverage of the Royal Family – in fact they are offended by any implied criticism of the the way some Americans view the Royal Family.

I’ve decided that the only thing that will make me care about this Royal Baby crap is if the kid is born with 2 heads. Short of some type of conjoined twin thing, I am completely uninterested and I DREAD the media coverage that will try to invade my life.

Here in SoCal, we have all sorts of road construction going on. I sometimes get annoyed at the traffic delays, but then I remember, that it’s fixing our crumbling roads, bridges & highways and it’s putting people to work!

Really good news. I think some real pollsters have told the Senate GOP that this Tea Party nonsense is not popular with the public at large. That would explain the sudden wave of sanity sweeping the Senate (caving to Reid last week was the first sign something had changed. And the subsequent infighting among the GOP was further evidence). We can’t expect our media to inform us of the GOP’s unpopularity, but I think the “grownups” in the GOP see the writing on the wall that following the Tea Party and ignoring the public will lead to political oblivion. Even John McCain has been sounding reasonable lately.

WASHINGTON — Sen. John McCain is dropping his threat to block Gen. Martin Dempsey’s nomination for a second term as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

But the Arizona Republican delivered a harsh critique Tuesday of Dempsey’s assessment of potential American military action in Syria.

McCain called Dempsey’s evaluation, outlined in a letter Monday to Sen. Carl Levin, “most disappointing” because the general described a scenario where it is impossible to intervene.

Dempsey wrote that establishing a no-fly zone to protect Syrian rebels would require hundreds of U.S. aircraft at a cost as much as $1 billion per month and no assurance it would change the momentum in Syria’s civil war.

McCain says he won’t stop Dempsey’s nomination because President Barack Obama has the right to choose the team around him.

    Awww…poor John…..No new War in sight…..

See ericfive’s comment above re: Senators getting some sense about Tea Party.

GOP Senators are scared of their own shadows when it comes to facing a Tea Party primary challenger.

But since most of them are facing that possibility, I agree with ericfive that it’s now dawning on GOP Senators’ aides that, hey, TP primary challenger is inevitable, let’s look back at TP canditate implosion history:
        . Christine O’Donnell
        . Sharron Engel
        . Todd Akin
. Can’t remember that midwest fella who got confused with Akin whenever “GOP” and “rape” were mentioned
        etc.

[Miss Lindsay, is SC govt full of drunks, cokeheads, & delusional arses?]:

Thomas Ravenel, a former South Carolina state treasurer who has reportedly been contemplating a return to political life after serving seven months on federal drug charges, was arrested early this morning by East Hampton Village police and charged with drunken driving.

[.....] Mr. Ravenel, who was pulled over at Montauk Highway and Stephen Hand’s Path at 2:30 this morning, was said to be swerving across lane lines and driving on the shoulder of the road, leading to the traffic stop. Once at the police station, he refused to consent to a breath test. [.....]

From a National Journal poll (don’t want to link to National Journal or dkos:

“A majority of adults don’t want to repeal the Affordable Care Act, according to the latest United Technologies/National Journal Congressional Connection Poll, preferring instead to either spend more on its implementation or wait to see if changes are needed later. [...]
Given the choice to either repeal the law, wait and see how it takes effect, or add money to aid its implementation, only 36 percent of adults picked outright repeal. More than half chose to either wait and see (30 percent) or provide more money (27 percent). [...]
Among nonwhites, 60 percent said lawmakers should keep the law intact with only 32 percent backing the repeal option, highlighting how the GOP’s problems with minority voters extend into economic issues.”
