HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIPSTER! You and yours have saved my heart throughout the last 5 years. You have kept it warm and fuzzy! Hope you enjoy many more Birthdays and many more best wishes. Nuthin’ but LUV 4 U !
Chat about what?
Utal, you know I always gripe when you ladies give these partial instructions.
Should we talk about the north american staple – the weather?
Yeah, I hate it when the instructions are incomplete. It’s like UT thinks we can manage on our own. She may be giving us too much credit.
  Or too much latitude? I’m fairly certain you guys don’t want to hear me rhapsodize about the sturdiness of the weeds that visit my lawn, and how they thrive healthily with no help or watering from me, while the bought and paid for plants are veritable wimps.
I don’t think you want to get into an arguement as to whose weeds are sturdier, mine or yours. You would lose.
Good news! I’m all for excellence.
(I really shouldn’t gloat, but now should the neighbours comment I can suggest ‘Want to see healthy, sturdy weeds? You should check out John’s garden.”
So damn true

“Bush was vilified because of the things he had done…by the entire world. Obama is vilified because of the constant lies from the right..”
This is an excellent response from one of the posters to another poster when bringing up the false equivalence of “doing it to bush”.
So many times I get more from comments than I do from the actual articles.
The Democrats aren't perfect, but at least they love this country and the people who live in it (all of them). The GOP? Not so much.— john miller (@deaconmill) August 13, 2013
Please note that PBO expects some answers by Dec. 2013. He’s not forever ‘planning’ like the GOPs pretend to do. He’s action oriented.

Presidential Memorandum — Reviewing Our Global Signals Intelligence Collection and Communications Technologies
The Review Group will assess whether, in light of advancements in communications technologies, the United States employs its technical collection capabilities in a manner that optimally protects our national security and advances our foreign policy while appropriately accounting for other policy considerations, such as the risk of unauthorized disclosure and our need to maintain the public trust. Within 60 days of its establishment, the Review Group will brief their interim findings to me through the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), and the Review Group will provide a final report and recommendations to me through the DNI no later than December 15, 2013.
Following on the President's Friday press conference, this memo directs @ODNIgov to set up a new Review Group: whitehouse.gov/the-press-offi…— @NSCPress (@NSCPress) August 12, 2013

…. the contrast to that horrible August of 2001 could not be more profoundly, starkly different. And, I could not be happier with the way President Obama is leveraging the traitorous actions of Snowden, Greenwald, etc., to dismantle the ‘Patriot Act’ and thereby impose constraints on the Executive Office.
Bo, stop trying to make fetch happen. http://t.co/Ez6hWGFpFc— The White House (@whitehouse) August 13, 2013
So some right wing idiots are trying to make some trouble by claiming the Obamas flew Bo on a plane by his self to Martha Vineyard.
I decided to make them even more angry than they already are by saying that IF there was ever a need for BO to travel alone on AF1 or Marine1, I would very gladly pay for the trip
I bet these same RWNJ didn’t complain when Bush used AF1 to fly back/forth a trillion times to his ranch in Crawford, Tx, while claiming that they were “work event”. They can all go to hell!
WiTal,sure they didn’t have a word to say, it was just fine. And I agree, I have had it up to here with them and their hate.
And they took their dogs too.
And wasn’t that because the President and the First Lady were meeting with disabled veterans, and doing other important work?
Anniebella, they’ve been doing this every year now for at least the last 3 years. Starting in 2010, they’ve been putting out this narrative of Bo flying on his own private plane…and they just keep re-hashing the same ol’ story every time the Obamas go on vacay to Martha’s Vineyard or Hawaii. That’s all they’ve got, no new ideas or solutions, just same old race-baiting stereotypes and narratives.
To any NYC residents: tonight at 7 PM EST on ABC mayoral candidates De Blasio, Thompson, Quinn, Weiner and Liu. Will not be boring
Carryout please! Pres. Obama stops by Nancy's snack shop in Oak Bluffs, MA for fried shrimp, oysters, onion rings and fries.

LOL – what will us and the media do after 2017 when there’s no longer any interest in knowing what the Pres is doing, what she/he’s eating, where he/she’s visiting while on vacation?!?!?!?
Question for twitter-philes: I’m getting some awful tweets lately with ugly ‘jokes’ about PBO. If I block as spam, does that hurt me in any way in the twitter-verse? Should I just block the bastard?
If you report as Spam, you also block them at the same time. No it won’t hurt you, but it will help your sanity.
It will just FEEL better to say it’s spam, as well as block. Thanks!
As per usual, Smartypants makes some key points; ex. = ‘IT IS CRITICAL THAT WE ALL EXERCISE OUR DUTIES AS CITIZENS…’
A key foundation to the Democratic position is the belief in citizenship as the cornerstone of a democratic republic. In other words, we believe that the government is “us” and not “them.” And we believe that it is our job as citizens to put a check on the growing influence of corporate power via our collective actions through government.
In the context of our current debate about government surveillance, it is critical that we all exercise our duties as citizens to engage in the conversation about developing the right balance between privacy and security. That is what democracy requires. And it is exactly what President Obama was suggesting we do in his press conference last week.

Just a reminder to all New Jersey Toders….Please remember to VOTE today in the primary election for the NJ senate seat.
I have been working with the Corey Booker campaign trying to get out the vote. I went to vote about 1pm and my daughter and I got tickets
#1 and 2 in our district…that late in the day! So please tell your friends and neighbors to get out and vote. Remind them that all elections
are important. We cannot cede any ground to the lunatics in the clown car on the other side.
Oh, I found this interesting. The lead organizer for the Booker campaign in my area, whenever he is explaining to the people who are
volunteering for canvassing, he always tell them we are doing a ground game similar to the Obama door to door grassroots ground game
in 2008 and 2012. Our PBO has taught the whole political world totally new and successful strategies, whether they admit it or not.
You’re right about that, Hope44.
David Plouffe has set the standard for how campaigns should and will be run in the future.
Even Ted Cruz (gag) said he gave Plouffe’s book “The Audacity to Win” as Christmas presents to his staff.
Gag, indeed Arapaho415…As David Plouffe admitted it was not just about the message but the MAN behind the message.
Cruz can give as many books as he wants ..There is no MAN behind HIS message/garbage that he spews.
How about that father of Ted Cruz? Yikes.
