c-span has Major Garrett on the phone complaining that PBO has not done enough for Black People.

But according to my RWNJ brother-in-law, all he’s done is pamper black people. Everything has been done for them. There were no food stamps or welfare before PBO, and it all does to black people.

Except his very-white daughter whose children are the fourth generation of her family who have lived exclusively on welfare. Certainly he doesn’t support her, her children.

But he’s white and ignorant, and that makes him superior to people of color.

Wow, that’s some serious cognitive dissonance going on right there. My heart goes out to you, 57andfemale.

He’s insane. And he’s my husband’s twin yet they look more dissimilar than anyone else in the family.

The last time he visited from AZ, he screamed through my United Nations neighborhood that he didn’t understand why his son, a Chicago cop, didn’t just shoot all Hispanics on sight. It was outrageous.

He moved to AZ about 25 years ago with no education, no skills. And yet he thinks he’s superior to the brown people who have lived in the Southwest for generations. It breaks my husband’s heart.

I’m watching C-Span now. It’s showing the march. How would MG know whether or not PBO has done enough for Black people?

He’s a white male on TV so he is an expert on any and everything. Funny how he can say this with no consequences, but the black reporter who said Mitt Romney appears more comfortable around white people got fired. Double standards are a trip, aren’t they?

Good morning all, what a wonderful day this will be! In the early 70′s I married an African man and bore a wonderful black son. I still remember the gasps and dirty looks I received from people who were outraged at the site on me and my beautiful son! I was asked sooo many times if I had adopted him and still see the look of horror when I told them no, God created him for me, through me! So today I will be watching the events with my son. BTW I remarried to a white man and had another son, white this time which made for interesting conversations as we plowed through life together in a united family! I wish you all a wonderful day and God bless my beautiful President!

    • August 28, 2013 at 11:16 am

Bless you, Layla. Your sons are lucky to have such a loving mother.

In terms of DNA, we are all one species with a minuscule difference between races that isn’t statistically real. And yet man has been killing over these perceived differences from the beginning.

      Disgusting.

Love and treasure your family, Layla. We are all the same and your family is manifestation of that.

Good Morning Layla and all who are rising to this beautiful new day. Layla, I too was married in the early 70′s. I married a wonderful Irishman. We did not have a child because I decided that I could not spend my life behind bars with my very spirited wonderful Irish hubby because we decided if anyone even looked at our beautiful child, there would be something to deal with, his/her mother and father.

I was young, and now I am older. To this day, I regret that we did not have our child, but looking back on my physical health, I can have a little peace. I was suffering from a very painful female condition and my doctor asked told me that if I wanted to have a child, I should do it immediately because I needed surgery and he would have to remove ovaries and the uterus. I wept and made the decision in the negative. I have beautiful memories of my husband supporting me and asking me to do whatever I wanted to do because he would be there for our child alongside of me.

Looking back on my attitude, and his temperament, one or both of us would have fought anyone for our child. Those days were very difficult to live in for me. I love your words, “God created him for me, through me.!” Those are the words that would have kept my tongue for my child as well. My decision was right for me because after the surgery, we had some very sad news about my body. But that lovely young lady, or brilliant son could be mine to show up and show off for his/her mother today.

So enjoy your beautiful children, Layla and if they have the spirit that I see in you here, they are beautiful and blessed loving children of this world. Thanks for being the beautiful vessel of God to bring them through you and your mate. Layla, you are such a beautiful soul.
Have a beautiful day today and if present, give them a hug from me. (((((((((((((((((( Beautiful spirit, Layla.)))))))))))))))))HZ

(((((((((((((((((( You are a beautiful mother and very dear TOD family member to me, Layla.))))))))))))))))))) I was crying as I was writing. So much will touch all of us today as we remember how far we have come and how far we must continue to travel for our young and loving aging ones in our nation and all over the world. We Can Help POB do some of it, but I pray others will continue to rise up and help us lift the ‘Beautiful Bricks to a More Perfect Foundation’ of this nation. He can’t do it all alone. We will move FORWARD with him by the grace of Almighty.HZ

  9. August 28, 2013 at 11:24 am

There will be a lot of great memories made today with lots of beautiful moments, but there are going to be hateful, annoying and frustrating comments as the media tries to shift our attention away from the importance of this anniversary. As soon as PBO finishes his speech, somebody, somewhere is going to say it wasn’t fine enough, or equal to MLKs or even to Clintons. Please ignore it all. It comes from ignorance and intense jealousy and isn’t worth our time. Sorry to say I’m going to spend this wonderful afternoon at a spine clinic as I seemed to have fractured a darned vertebrae. Life can be very frustrating sometime.

How glad am I that Dennis Kucinich and Weiner are out of Congress — they’d be in the front lines of Democrats demanding impeachment if we take any military action. At all. For anything.

Oh wait – Weiner is all for bombing Palestinians. I say that with the full disgust of an American Jew who cannot support anything and everything that Israel does, without question.

We anticipate that President Obama’s speech will be criticized, probably even before he utters his last syllable. But with the President’s speech and all others that are presented today, those who listen with an open heart, the right spirit, and the right frame of mind will be gifted with the message they are meant to receive. Don’t let the naysayers take away the gifts you receive today.

GM, TOD. Had to dash back to the hotel; Mom forgot something — lucky we are just blocks away from the Memorial. This is the one time that my being cheap has worked out for me. The court yard was $150 cheaper than the Marriott on PA Ave, so I’m only about four blocks from the Memorial rather than about 12…

Here is a pic of Mom and me:

Good morning/afternoon, TOD. I was about 20 mins. late in watching the coverage, but I’m catching up with a little help from my DVR. Just saw Trayvon Martin’s parents – could someone tell me if the one gentleman with them was a Newtown father? He looked so familiar.

Oh, my, what a day this is going to be. So glad to have y’all to share it with!

Oh, lovely young lady is bringing on the floodgates of tear. This was the song that was the theme of my precious mother’s going home celebration. I apologize. So many have hasten to the throne in prayers during Dr. King’s trials and even now with our beloved POTUS. I know that I have to hasten there many time. Lovely rendition by the lovely young lady. HZ

    Good Morning TOD Family!

I’m so excited for today. I’m stuck at work, which is filled with it’s usual drama, but I’m upbeat and joyful! I’ve Tivo’d the festivities on CSpan. Knew the blabbermouths on MSNBC would ruin it for us. Great to see Alycee and her Mom and am hoping we get to see our Dudette as well.
