I missed the final vote in the House on the amendment to keep military pay funded during the shutdown. Else where in cyberdom, I’m reading that all the House Dems voted for that provision. I guess I should go and do the googly woogly to verify, but thought maybe someone here may know.

Hi UT, I think I am going to have to get off the tubes for awhile. It is so damned depressing. Didn’t watch any shows either.

Roberta, take care. That’s what I had to do during the Sandy Hook shootings. Even sites sympathetic to the victims and gun control became too much for me. Those hugs are for you.

What a perfect way to help everyone step away from the craziness for awhile and remember that we are all need a little more love and appreciation. Great idea UT!

VC – Since you said the sun’s keeping you awake anyway, would ya like to join me in “our” morning bike-ridin’ exercise? Found a song for us, but then I noticed this beautiful post from UT and it kinda fits all of those photos, too (even the ones where it looks as though the Prez is gonna kiss our Joey right on the mouth – hey, Mr. President, me first!):

Boehner is speaker in name only. He will go down as the worse speaker ever. I hope his family is proud of him, cause no one else is. And that deceased Dad of Boehner who must have been crying out of proud, has to be crying from shame.

I came back to the last post and added this. I’ll bring it over. It is a great article to understand Kansas.

I just found this article from the Boston Globe written back in April about a community in Kansas. This is the area I grew up in and still have lots of relatives. Everything he says is true. It is very frustrating for me to go back to family reunions and keep my mouth shut. This is why we are having so much trouble with the Tea Party. No open minds. The picture could be of my hometown.

I spent two years in Kansas while cookeman was in the Air Force. I feared that I wouldn’t have any brain cells left by the time I got back home. The mindsets were not open for any new way of thinking, and not just on social issues either.

I so understand what you are saying, FayPax is there now and we had the same conversation. I love my family, I wouldn’t trade my growing up there for anything, but it is hard to be there for any length of time. They really don’t believe they are hurting the whole country and they consider themselves good Christians.

    • September 29, 2013 at 12:45 pm

When I think of Kansas, I think of our President’s mother. How tragic it was for her to die at 52, without knowing that her son’s greatness was confirmed by the American people.

What a difference she would have made while he is President — no birther nonsense, her being able to address the concerns of Kansas, Missouri, and other places in the nation’s heartland.

I guess its true that greatness is tested by events in life, and our President had to endure being an orphan when he campaigned and assumed office. Just a shame that his mother and grandmother couldn’t have been along for his first inauguration and beyond.

      Here’s an apt quote.

And I took the liberty of tweeting this article:

Thank you so much Arapaho! That makes me cry, I do so love Kansas of my childhood, so many wonderful memories. But now I cry from frustration. Have you read the books about PBO’s mother? (Can’t remember the title). I so understand the Kansas part. I would have loved for her to have lived to see PBO as President. But for whatever reason his close “white” relatives are all gone.

Love the Will Rogers’ quote. He had so many true quotes!

Sharing a quick ‘hello’ from CJ Julisch, who asked me to say hi a while ago! Though she is preparing for hip surgery in a couple of days, CJ is otherwise okay, lurking from time to time. Be sure to send her some virtual good wishes (for) tomorrow – more or less the day of her surgery.

Actually, Forus, I’m wondering about the 20 percent. How could anyone, except possibly his mother, approve of Boehner? I’ll be even his wife is sick of him.

Another day, another senseless killing that is routinely found in USA.

A couple broke into a Pennsylvania home and killed the woman’s mother and brother before being shot to death by her father, the culmination of a long-running feud fueled by what a relative said Saturday was the woman’s “hatred” for her family.

State police said the home invasion happened Friday night in Ashville, a rural community about 40 miles southwest of State College in central Pennsylvania.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening my TOD family. I have been trying to catch up with everything. I was up very late last evening, , and that was a mistake, but I had difficulty sleeping after viewing the clown show. I dislike these people so much that I need serious prayer, TOD family.

Then I went through the daily mail, and stayed up reading my Part D plan for 2014. Another headache, but will get some more information next week via phone convos. It never ends.

I did a little too much, but that is who I am. Beautiful experience at the Hair Salon. I was able to talk to the grandchild of my hair-stylist about college. Show her how to get infor. from the Dept. of Edu. on different areas of concerns. It was so rewarding. Left my personal number with her grandmother to call me anytime, day or night to get more information if needed. Spreading goodness of all of the hard work POB has done.

Then drove my ‘fast’ self to the mall to shop at my favorite tea shop, Teavana. Put down $400.00 to the penny. It was nice to get my supply. Great place for tea lovers. After my shop visit, hit the gas to come home and noticed my PSI was low on tires. Another prayer for a great hubby. No, just kidding. I had my love of my life twice. Set in my ways now, but it might be nice.

Thanks Chips for your constant focus and loving spirit to keep us informed with truth and respect to POB.
Thanks to all of the beautiful and brilliant contributors who help so much to make this the Best Place Ever.

Shout out of my loving hugs to my:

May all of our dear TOD family members who are working so hard to help us get the news out about ACA will be granted the strength, the love of sharing, and the heart to stand firmly behind POB and VPBiden to get people enrolled next week. I have used some of the great information to help some friends. Thank you so much, Chips and UT, Zizi, Vc, DF, Donna, and the entire TOD brilliant leaders here.

Everyone, have a great Sun. Enjoy your loving families and give thanksgiving for our wonderful President.

AMK, please travel safely. We miss you. I hope you brought something very special, besides you, ofcourse for Mrs. Amk. Right? HZ

Thank you HZ….sending you lots of love and hugs, good thoughts and energy to get you through the mounds of medicare paper work. It was a lovely day in SoCal. I went to a Vegan brunch then we went to the Abbott-Kenny Art Walk and I bought a lovely picture of 395 SoCal Sunsets.
