La-la-la-la We take care of our own. I started my Obamacare enrolment last night. Needed some additional documentation so will complete it later. Happy happy
now we’re at the end of this momentous day. Thank you. Thank you President Obama for going through all that on our behalf.
So glad for you, zizi! Let us know how it goes.
congrats chips and meta.
Ha ha beat ya. Amk. Mwah!
Losing to wimmin. Story of my life. (and prolly most men)
Aww….poor “Even” Amk. I loves ya
Congrats Zizi on 1st .
Yes we are, in_deed, taking care of our own, Chips!!
Congrats on 1st zizi!!!

absolute children, just with suits and ties and millions of dollars now. how do they explain the 18 conference attempts by democrats prior to last night?!? complete, utter liars, and the most vile people on this planet up there with serial killers. not joking since their little reindeer games do in fact lead to the deaths of thousands of people, including children. this is NOT hyperbole. let’s see john harwood ask about THAT tomorrow!!!!!
Yes, 4more, let’s see what Harwood asks … maybe this will provide some context for him ….
What's empty @JohnJHarwood are the souls of these avaricious dudes who terrorize Americans. cc @PressSec @NancyPelosi http://t.co/ZAoHXdBle2— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 02, 2013
Can those guys be more offensive ? After blocking conference 18 times, they DARE pose as the guys who are “willing” to negotiate ?
Things like this are the perfect illustration of how a timid and corrupt media allows politics to devolve into a circus. Republicans aren’t subtle anymore; it’s because they’re confident that the media WON’T CALL THEM OUT.
Can we hope that, this once, the media stenographers in DC will be disgusted by the stunning hypocrisy ? I mean… there comes a time when enough is enough…
LP, I am absolutely convinced that most in the mainstream media support the tactics of these teabag Republicans. They (media) hate President Obama as much as the teabags do.
“They (media) hate President Obama as much as the teabags do.”
Sadly true, nath.
Thank you for your comment yesterday late evening/early am!!! Neither of us are getting much sleep these days
What's with @gop and the empty chairs? #EmptyRhetoric. Throw these bums out in 2014. http://t.co/xW5t8KFkUC— (@amk4obama) October 02, 2013
not sure why exactly, but this little gimmick has incensed me. highlight so much of what’s been wrong these last 30 years and how “the news” provides the cover for these traitors to the constitution, such as Emma Dumain at roll call who feels it’s not important to mention the 18 previous attempts of democrats to have a conference over the last 6 months, and decides to be a republican talking point stenographer…meanwhile children in america are dying specifically from this republican/news stunt:

I am not living in the US but I am so proud of your president and what he has done. Everyone deserves health care. The mini stories in tweets are heartwarming and heartfelt.
Yes they are, Almablanca!! And, thank you for your support of our President Obama!!!
Who knows, even foreigners living abroad may be trying to sign up for some Obamacare.
Insurance policies in India do not cost much. The premium plan I provide for my staff costs equivalent of 100 dollars for a year (yes, a year) per person.
Whoa! The cost of healthcare here is so obscene, which underscores how the whole field has become more about money, not always health.
It’s because the medical costs are low. My aunt 80 year old aunt had a heart bypass surgery last year which cost only 4,000 dollars including post care hospitalization for a week, India is now famous for medical tourism due to low costs and excellent treatments.
Wow, I can barely process that. Thank goodness for examples like this. In this country, $4,000 barely covers walking in the door.
This is the cost in private corporate hospitals, which have mushroomed and gone global in the last decade. Our govt. hospitals are totally free but only a few of them in big cities have the facilities comparable to the corporate hospitals. Most middle class and all rich people prefer the corporates. Our local state govt has issued subsidized insurance policies to the economically weak so that they can also go to these corporate hospitals.
I swear, the entire world is WAY ahead of us.
Now that the US has the ACA they may be able to pursue exchange of health care with other countries – i.e When Brits are in Australia they can use our medicare – and when we were in the UK we could use their health system. Mr. 99 was in hospital for 5 days – had tests etc, saw a GP a few times – cost nothing – and when he left the hospital they provided the pills needed for the next month! It was cheaper than if we had been in Australia. When we were in the US 40 years ago, 1 x 10 minute doctor’s visit cost $150 – to be paid before seeing the Doctor.
In Canada and Great Britain no one pays for basic health care but you can purchase additional coverage from private companies if not provided from workplace.
Out of 66 options @MNSure shows me for my family, the MOST EXPENSIVE is 30% CHEAPER than our current insurance plan.— John Nephew (@JohnNephew) October 02, 2013
Man, @reignofapril and ABL’s tweets have been HIGHLARIOUS this evening.
From a cursory perusal of my Must Follow Accounts, it seems as if Teabaggers are losing their shit.
LL – they been losing that for a long time – seems it just got real – no game any more.
Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the Best
Patients to operate on.
The first surgeon, from New York , says, ‘I like to see accountants
On my operating table because when you open them up, everything
Inside is numbered.’
The second, from Chicago , responds, ‘Yeah, but you should try
Electricians! Everything inside them is color coded.’
The third surgeon, from Dallas , says, ‘No, I really think librarians
Are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order.’
The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: ‘You know, I like
Construction workers…Those guys always understand when you have
A few parts left over.’
But the fifth surgeon, from Washington , DC shut them all up when
He observed: ‘You’re all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on.
There’s no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains, and no spine..
Plus, the head and the ass are interchangeable.’
lololol…Yardarm, that is sooo funny

HUGE NYC Breaking News: Leticia James, “Tish” James has won the runoff for NYC Public Advocate. The first black woman ever to hold citywide office.
Tish won big— by 20 points.
Every newspaper and TV station endorsed her opponent. (Same outlets that predicted Mayor Quinn. hahaha)
Chuck Schumer filled the airwaves in support of her opponent.
And here’s the thing. Her opponent, Dan Squadron is my state senator. We all know him well and appreciate his great efforts in our community.
But change has come to America. Rich white males are not automatic winners anymore.
Tish’s victory speech was amazing. First a full-throated articulation of the Progressive agenda. Then she spoke at length about President Obama and the siege of disrespect that is happening now. And her intention to back up POTUS in every way possible. If you hear this speech you’d swear she is one of us. Us meaning TOD family.
About Tish James. An attorney, super-smart, very effective City Council member and ally of Bill deBlasio. All good. What a day.
“But change has come to America. Rich white males are not automatic winners anymore.”
FANTASTIC NEWS, Vicki!!!!!!!!!!!!
And despite their best efforts, the GOP cannot stem the tide
Hot damn Vicki. Do you have a link to her speech? I’d love to see.
I don’t have a link but maybe Youtube by tomorow?
Okay. It’s not up now, I checked.
Hey Vicki, I voted for her early today. And guess what her opponent was one of Bernie Madoff partners in crime.
That is why Chuck Shumer was pushing him. You cannot trust all Dems, you have to do your own investigation these days.
So glad she came through big time!
Tish took a shot at Schumer in her speech. something like “despite the big names from Washington speaking for my opponent, we won.”
Then “despite all the support in the tabloids for my opponent, we won.”
My mailbox was flooded with pics of PBO and Tish all week……everywhere.
She was fearless and fierce!
She came to win.
Good night guys. Took the day off work today, just saw I could be home and hear about all the ACA stories and how everything went on the officially first day.
Now though, I gotta go to bed and go to work tomorrow (bah-humbug). But I just had to share, cause this commercial for Volkswagen has been giving me life since I first saw it. Has anyone else seen it too? God I love that video and that song!!!
Volkswagen Commerical uses Ah Ha’s “Take On Me”
Loved that song back in the day! The animation was cutting edge back then, if you can believe that.
Love this commercial and the little 80′s dance they do in front of the car.

Well done Bob!!!
Instead of the US media highlighting and CELEBRATING the wonderful stories of Americans who are getting healthcare insurance for the 1st time and some who are saving incredible amounts on their new plans, most media outlets have chosen to focus on a few computer glitches. It’s amazing, for the first time EVER the US has some thing near what every industrialized nation has had and our incompetent media misses the historic importance of the day.

And President Obama wouldn’t rub it in, because he is a decent, caring man. He really cares for all Americans.
Me? I’m not that charitable. I WOULD RUB IT IN HIS FACE!!! I’M SORRY, BUT I REALLY WOULD!!
There’s gonna be a lot of that going on:)
I am sure there are many of these Tea Party Obamacare hating creatures applying for Obamacare today. I am sorry that he lost his job, but Karma is a b!!!!.

Gotta for tonight, but I’m gonna be tweeting and sharing the hell out of everything he says and does!

Mark Knoller will finally be able to get some sleep. After all, he must have not slept in the last 72 hrs sick with worry about the optics of PBO traveling to Asia amidst a gov’t shutdown.
Yes, poor Markie. Nothing much in his own life to be sick with worry about. I remember seeing him arriving at one of the previous WHPCA dinners. He was coming down the escalator with his date. Or it was his umbrella. One of them. Too dorky to keep watching.
Good morning, almost back from vaca… Don’t know if this has been posted; was in my email and thought it work sharing.

So, dear TOD friends, thought it worthwhile before departing to note that a certain meeting happened on Monday at the White House. A meeting involving President Obama, VP Biden and a particularly unsavory fellow from Israel – PM Netanyahu. Thanks to the #GOP terrorists in the House and Senate, Bibi’s visit was completely upstaged and that extended through, today, as he delivered his typically bellicose & belligerent speech at the UN.
To immortalize the remarkably irony and karma that has characterized the deflated visit by Bibi to DC & NY here’s our dear President rendering this dude impotent:
Anyone else notice that #Neoconster darl’n #Bibi was upstaged by the #TeabaggerTerrorists? Thanks, #GOP. cc @VP @JohnKerry @Pfeiffer44 @vj44— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 02, 2013
#TrustBarack …. and DON’T EVER MESS WITH HIM
^^remarkable^^ not ^^remarkably^^ …. definitely need some rest … these 19-20 hr days are hard
We love you for what you do for PBO Bobfr, no-one sees the typos – it’s not only Bibi who was ignored – the GOP are unable to concentrate on more than one thing at a time so while they are saying people should not be allowed to have health care
- everyone is getting health care
- inspectors are moving into Syria
- PBO is talking to Iran
- unemployment is going down
- business confidence is going up
- states are tending purple
- the people are blaming the GOP for they dysfunction – suddenly the are no longer believing the media
The GOP see their only way out is to hold the country at gunpoint – but they have cried wolf one time too often.
Even Jon Stewart seems to have come back to reality (took him awhile).
If Obama can make a deal with Iran, but not the GOP – maybe he’s not the problem.
Yes, the great stuff that is happening, thanks to our President’s leadership, is well summarized in your list, 99!!! Thank you!!
