Yes the vote is just a month away but imagine if Christie was defeated and Ms. Buono won?

A Christies loss would send a level of terror into the republican party and there would numerous stories to related this to the GOPshutdown.

Based on today’s reports of the NJ governor debate, it seems as if Ms Bouno was doing what she has to do to help her self.

If you have some time, please send some attention her way.

    Thanks.

    Congrats on first, Almablanca!

“Together, these 14 bills allocate approximately $83.1 billion in funding,” Linden writes. That would leave 82 percent of the $470 billion non-defense discretionary government unfunded. In other words (and colors), Obama wants to fund the whole pie below. The GOP, which would like to pair government funding with Obamacare’s defunding or delay, is asking him to fund the blue slices only. The White House’s logic is that passing the blue stuff makes it more likely that we go even longer without the larger, redder part of the pie.

This isn’t three-dimensional chess, exactly. It’s not even chess. It’s just a radical wing of the Republican party exerting on House members while holding the rest of government hostage. Meanwhile, the list of casualties deepens: the roads, the patients, the kids, the border, the veterans, the economic data, the product-safety inspections …

Usually, the president’s party loses House seats at the midterm election, so the normal expectation would be for Republicans to gain seats. But exceptions can happen. In 1998, Democrats picked up five seats. That rather surprising result came after a rough few years, during which Speaker Newt Gingrich led the way to the last substantial shutdown, lasting 21 days.

PPP surveyed 24 congressional districts currently held by Republicans. They asked voters to choose between their current representative and a generic Democrat (data as PDF). Here are the margins they got, plotted against last November’s election result:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The swing was toward Democrats for 23 races (below the red diagonal) and toward the Republican for one race (above the diagonal). The key piece of information is the gray zone. If more than half the points are in that gray zone, then that predicts a swing of >6% and a Democratic takeover. Currently, 17 out of 24 points are in the gray zone.

plus, there was no OFA back then. in fact, just the opposite since the clinton people encouraged just the opposite as they went after big money instead of grassroots. add that to a scandal-free president obama with internet infrastructure in place to combat the mainstream press 24/7 lies, i like our chances.

They are over in the stupid ass section of the country. They remind me of the old Ziggy cartoon, for those who remember Ziggy. Ziggy is standing in front of a map with two Xs on it. At the first X, the sign says: You are here. And at the second X, the sign says: Everybody else is here. Dennis Hastert: ‘There Is No Hastert Rule’

The former House speaker disowns his eponymous rule.

    By By Alex Seitz-Wald

    —————————————–

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert says the famous—or infamous—rule that bears his name doesn’t actually exist. “There really wasn’t a ‘Hastert Rule,’ ” the longest-serving Republican speaker, who is now a lobbyist and consultant, told National Journal in a phone interview Wednesday evening.

The Hastert Rule, as it’s become known, is more of a self-imposed standard that says House leaders shouldn’t allow a vote on a bill unless it has the support of the majority of their own party. The rule has been cited as the reason Speaker John Boehner won’t bring up a clean continuing resolution to reopen the government, even though it probably has the 218 votes needed to pass, as well as the reason Congress can’t pass immigration reform, new gun-control laws, or much else.

Lawrence O’Donnell played a clip of Gov. Christie debate with the woman who is running against him, I can’t think of her name, but Christie asked the woman about taxes, and she shut that phony clown up when she told Christie how he has raise taxes on the middle class and poor, while looking out for the millionaires. I think she left Christie speechless. I say maybe the Dems in NJ will wake up and not support Christie.

    Today’s Press Conference

“The President answered all my questions today. How about you? Here are the key points I heard:

    >The President will not negotiate the CR or the debt ceiling. No wiggle. No slight restating. No change.
    >Why is he not willing to negotiate? He will negotiate any and every thing – after we have a clean CR and a clean debt raise.
    >Hasn’t there always been negotiating over the debt ceiling? Didn’t he do it in 2011? In the 2011 case, he did not enter his discussions with Boehner in the presence of a default threat. That came up when their deal fell apart. And it was a close thing. In earlier years and earlier debt ceiling raises, there was lots of posturing, but no explicit default threat. No opposition leader has ever said “We are on a path to default,” before or during negotiations.
    >There are no secret silver bullets that will be revealed after the October 17 drop dead date has passed. Obama feels that issuing Treasury Bonds and selling them to the public, without a debt ceiling raise would cloud the legal provenance of the bonds so issued, and mess up the market and devalue our bonds.

    (snip)

The President spoke well – relaxed, clear, not apparently angry, thoughtful, upbeat. You got the feeling that the whole thing is incredibly clear to him, and he is pretty sure the other side will see the light before it’s too late.

The biggest risk I see is that the MSM’s “false equivalence” presentation and atmosphere will get stronger and stronger as we approach next Thursday’s deadline. “It’s un-American not to negotiate.” “There is no choice but to throw Boehner a lifeline.” “No side can win it all.” “Unconditional surrender may work in a World War, but not in a political fight.” And so on. Many Dems think he’ll do it, since he appears to have done it before.

    What do you think?…….
    (snip)

      The President will not relent.

Boehner and many other US Senators and Congresspersons are already, beyond reasonable doubt, in flagrant violation of Section 4 of the 14th Amendment. That is the legal instrument the DoJ can use to bring all of them to account.

The Chinese, earlier today, established the FACT that the credit worthiness of the United States of America is now in QUESTION. That’s material breach of Sec 4 of the 14th.

President Obama has given them every opportunity to back away from their clear and present danger – that they have blatantly violated their Oath of Office and the Constitution.

I’m just a citizen. Not a lawyer. But, if the sign says STOP and I don’t I’ve broken the law. If the Constitution says the ‘Public Debt’ cannot be ‘Questioned’ and a person sworn to defend that Constitution calls the ‘Public Debt’ to be ‘Questioned’ they RAN THE STOP SIGN.

      Indict & Prosecute. Period.

Okay, this whole shutdown possible debt crisis has me overly upset. I come here for boosting my spirits. It’s hard to even listen to NPR news these days. I am praying so hard for this to be solved while discouraging the GOP and rich outside meddlers from repeating these actions. It would be good if something comes out of this that nothing like this happens again. Some sort of change that does not require this debt ceiling vote in the first place.
