      So ironic and amusing that all of these big for-profit insurance corporations (whom normally Republicans would be favoring) are, of course, on the bandwagon in the roll-out of ACA, as are the medical professionals. Can’t stop Obamacare!

        It’s great news indeed.

        Big insurances companies will need a lot of young and healthy people to sign up if they don’t want to lose money. Not surprising to see them spending money in information campaigns.

        What’s funny is that republicans blocked the funding for the HHS for the rollout. So it is their “friends”, the big corporations, who’ll have to spend the money.

        “Democrats the nation wide should note Miller’s concern that conservatives can only carry the day when there is ultra-low turnout. This is why Republicans work so hard to depress the morale of the Democratic base by constantly bashing Obama, bashing any policy of Obama’s, concern trolling under fake IDs as disenchanted liberals, and using the allegedly Libertarian left to loudly denounce Obama as a tyrant who is just like Bush.

        Jeff Miller is one of the few Republicans who are dealing with reality. He can see that there is no way out of the hole they’ve dug with their failed ideology except to force Democrats into making mistakes, aka, fear-mongering and lying about Democrats. Said fear-mongering is ironically why this memo was made public. If the Koch brothers hadn’t been improperly funneling money from hidden donors into California through a “non-profit” (hello, IRS “scandal”) labeled “Center to Protect Patient Rights” and “Americans for Responsible Leadership”, none of this would have come to light.”

        We know the enemy ….

          We see evidence of this EVERYDAY..in the print and TV media, internet blogs, comments section of online newsites, and social media sites.

        Christie is vile, impulsive, offensive and completely wrong for leadership of any kind. I hope this gets retweeted like crazy, even though it’s from 2011. People need a reminder of what Christie has been doing. It makes me sick that some Democrats were supporting this heartless bugger.

        • October 27, 2013 at 3:07 pm

          “It makes me sick that some Democrats were supporting this heartless bugger.”

          Indeed, theo.

          Senator Booker & Menendez and all other NJ Democratic leaders need to be working around the clock from now until election day to drive GOTV for Buono.

      October 27, 2013 at 2:52 pm

      Chips? I am right there with you. I’ve been asking myself the same thing today. I really prefer it when celebrities don’t just jump on a bandwagon and instead, educate themselves on the issues (like other sensible voters do) before providing a voice. They are citizens like everyone else; just with a bigger microphone and in this case, the microphone isn’t being used in the right direction.

      If he studied where Chris Christie is on Jobs, Fair Pay, Teachers, Education, Students, Women, Minorities, LGBT, etc., he might run in the other direction.

      The sad thing is that NJ has a history of manipulative schemes by TBGOPers using people of color to get reelected.

      Christine Whitman by her then political manager…..Ed Rollins, paying Black Ministers to get her re-elected. This is just another version of it. So sad to see.

      I am hoping that come next week…..1/3 of AA who are supporting Christie as the polls indicate…..would Not show up to cast votes for this Christie…..the fake wicked gov.

    Christine Pelosi is tweeting some much needed truths this morning. First, celebrity, Julianne Hough dresses as a character from Orange Is The New Black and she does it in Black Face. After huge backlash, she finally released a statement to try and explain why she did it and then apologize. There is no explanation for such nonsense. Every time, people have to be reminded that ‘Black Face’ is racist. Just don’t do it. It’s not a hard thing to not do. Learn some history of the country you inhabit and your claim to be ‘American.’

    This is what she’s referencing. Some people have no conscience.

    I see the Repubs have a new target for their sham, political hearings on the ACA this week.
    And can I ask——I keep reading about some last minute change in the ACA that gummed up the whole works, that they keep accusing of being a political move—–but what was that? It’s never clear.

    ugh. after years of not paying them much attention, i saw last week “60 minutes” had a puff piece on dick cheney with no mention of how he led easily the worst presidential administration in generations, and then just saw a commercial for tonight about “what really went wrong in benghazi?” a supposed year-long investigation. OMG. so they’ve taken over 60 minutes now too, huh. there’s literally nothing left of “the news” anymore.

    Speaking of all this blackface nonsense, I noticed the Juniors’ employee in whiteface in the photos when PBO and DeBlasio were there last week. I’m assuming that was a statement on all this clueless, hateful stuff. What do y’all think?

      based on prior reports, retailers get 30 minutes or less to know that POTUS will be making a stop on their premises;

      since there are pumpkins and all the decorations already up, I suspect that this was possibly about clowns for Halloween than “whiteface”;

      and if right-wingers get this idea, they will be running with it – you can bet on that;

    • 63 globalcitizenlinda
      October 27, 2013 at 4:38 pm

      also forgot to mention that figure with white face paint seems to be a mannequin – not a human employee

    • October 27, 2013 at 4:45 pm

      Hate to be dense here, but are you referring to the photo where PBO and deBlasio are signing the enormous pumpkins?

      I see a very pale young white man with light-rimmed glasses and some sort of markings around his mouth. His neck and arm appear to equally pale, so isn’t his “costume” the markings around his mouth?

      Sorry to be so clueless.

    • 65 hopefruit2
      October 27, 2013 at 4:47 pm

      This is a mannequin, not a person in whiteface. But historically, and unlike blackface, whiteface is not associated with legalized oppression and humiliation of an entire ethnic group of people, so RWers have no argument with false equivalency.

      • 66 globalcitizenlinda
        October 27, 2013 at 5:18 pm

        no, there is no argument for false equivalency;

        but remember that over the past months, many on the right have tried to convince the public:
        – about reverse racism;
        – that Dr. Rev. MLK Jr. was a republican;
        – that it is PBO’s fault they are racist towards him because you know he is the most divisive POTUS ever

        incredible!!

    • 67 utaustinliberal
      October 27, 2013 at 4:48 pm

    • 70 globalcitizenlinda
      October 27, 2013 at 4:03 pm

      she has been there recently (probably just before the Senate election);

      I remember forwarding a message from her which had a photo of Ms. Buono, Mr. Booker & DWS;

      however, I think she and the whole Dem establishment need to show up and support Ms,. Buono ( and this is the message I responded to her tweet).

      it makes no sense at all to help christie given his policy record, his source of money, and the potential future political headache he poses to the next national Dem candidate;

      I suspect that PBO decided not to show up because of the minimal corporation he has received from christie and here is one PBO decision I do not support at all (given he is the head of the Dem Party)

      • 71 jacquelineoboomer
        October 27, 2013 at 4:25 pm

        I, too, wish President Obama would visit NJ on her behalf and my thoughts were similar to yours. Maybe there’s something behind the scenes we don’t know about (and he’s smarter than I am about all of it), but I still wish he would. It would bring SO MUCH attention to her candidacy, and that’s really important during this cycle.

        And – after you mentioned it – I do now remember that photo of DWS and your response to her!

        • 72 globalcitizenlinda
          October 27, 2013 at 4:49 pm

          I think PBO takes his promises to cooperating opposition seriously – and will not campaign against a person once he has given his word;

          remember he did the same thing in RI (or CT) and the Dem mayor cursed him out (of course this sealed his fate and he lost the race);

          while I value PBO’s integrity, I have no doubt in my mind that christie will be back-stabbing him and any Dems as soon as he clears this current re-election hurdle;

          in the end, everything christie does is about christie and his ambitions – no one else

        October 27, 2013 at 5:28 pm

        it seems it does apply to all – because cookies are attached each time you visit the website (unless you set up not to);

        regularly, I use the “tools” button on the top of my browser; try it and see if it works for you;

        if it doesn’t, then given the web set up you have may be this would be a good opportunity for you to ask the live Obamacare chat room as you work through;

        ask the chat person how you can erase your cookies;

        watch the video on this site or White House & you will see that the lady mentioned it as something on “her computer” that was causing the problem for her enrollment

      So when will MSM fess up that these “leaks” are from the BUSH administration (2006) and that Snowdenwald are traitors, that Russia is controlling these damaging leaks? When will emoprog and other MSM finally wake up to the fact that Greenwald hides behind the “journalist” label while encouraging the misdeeds of others?

    • 97 utaustinliberal
      October 27, 2013 at 5:10 pm

      The blackface depictions are incredibly jaw dropping. It is 2013 and Julianne Hough can’t grasp that blackface is racist and disgusting? Not a single one of her friends said STOP? How dumb can she be? She could have picked any character from Orange Is The New Black but noooooo…she had to mock the Black character who suffers from bi-polar disorder.

      Then you have a-holes in blackface dressed as Trayvon Martin and Zimmerman. Who mocks a child who was killed under such tragic and unnecessary circumstances?

      Some people really and truly lack a conscience.
