I am honoring the legacy of JFK, RFK, and MLK today by passing out brochures in both English and Spanish for Cover Oregon to make sure the first President to really give me hope since then, Barack Obama, will have his major legislative accomplishment succeed. YES WE CAN!

Great collection and it’s great to know that Creigh Deeds is on the road to recovery.

Yes, it is. I didn’t recognize the name and clicked his name to get a clue. He tweeted there was a shortage of Medical care for Mental Health patients and some lady made a crappy remark and I blocked her. Some are so insensitive. Grrr. . .

So I see that the right wing is trying to claim JFK was a conservative or would be one today. I imagine that in a few decades they will be saying that Pres.Obama was heir to Reagan’s legacy or some such nonsense.

Isn’t that the most idiotic argument from the ditto heads?

JFK had Family members. He still has one sibling alive today, Jean Kennedy Smith. His last brother Teddy died, 4 yrs ago, a Liberal Lion. His daughter is alive. They talk as if the Kennedy Family has any CONservative out there politically different from the late president. These people are totally pathetic. It is offensive.

I saw a clip of JFK’s grand-Daughter in UK in a tribute for her grandfather. She looked like her mother, Caroline.

This is another bullshitter from Portland Oregan, and a Single-payer/public option EMOPROG, no doubt, who has been condemning the ACA, because according to her, their “small nonprofit” employee rates went up by 35%, and their plan dropped dental coverage. Interestingly enough, she has never mentioned the name of their insurance company but spends 95% of her tweets condemning the ACA, while pushing her “single payer” propanganda.

I just asked her to please state the name the insurance company – wanna bet she won’t?

swbluega who posted this on the Early Bird thread.

Caroline’s likeness to her aunt is amazing (female boomers like myself will probably remember Lee Radziwill’s glamour, Jackie O’s jet-setting trendsetter sister):

Oh, my. Just watched the JFK tribute livestreaming on the JFK Library website. Solemn and dignified – they remarked there was no physical audience, just a backdrop of the sea he loved. (If you missed it, they will have an on-demand playback later on the website http://www.jfklibrary.org.) Was recording but simultaneously checking out (without sound) part of the tribute in Dallas, and coverage in Arlington, too. I wrote a little poem while watching.

    Poem for JFK

    This is no mere mortal
    Who rests here today
This is a man who went out to sea.
This is not a man who hid behind
    His mother’s skirts yesterday
This is a man who went out to sea.
This is a man not afraid of saving
His fellow sailor from a scuttled boat
This is a man who went out to sea.
This is a man who dreamed in poetry
This is a man who quoted the masters
This is a man who went out to sea.
This is a man who served in elected office
Although many thought he, far too young
This is a man who went out to sea.
This is a man who knew his God
And brought Him (in his heart) to D.C.
This is a man who went out to sea.
This is a man who loved his little children
A man who played with them, lovingly
And this is a man who went out to sea.
This is not a man to forget
This man who went out to sea
A man whom we lost in 1963.

Rest in Peace, Mr. President ~

And from the heart of JO’B. . .
It’s beautiful. I didn’t mean to sound flippant, that’s just the way it came out of my fingers. I’m watching TV all day too. My DVR is filling Up fast.
      Where were you?
I was in school. We probably got the news later than most. Our teacher cried out on the phone. I was then glued to the TV until school resumed.
Teacher had us say pledge of allegiance, lower the flag and then take it down and fold it. We then did our routine chores and parents came. I don’t remember anyone saying anything. Don’t even remember what Mrs. Jones told us. I was fairly young. I think we also rang our school bell. I thought of it as the Liberty Bell. Our schools name was Liberty School District #72. Yes, it was a one room school house. No running water, a hand pump, outdoor toilets, etc. All eight grades were in one room. Four kids in my class, twelve all together.
