I went to the WH petition site and looked at the gun violence petitions. I saw more gun advocates petitioning the govt vs. not.

I don’t mind the snow outside. Living in Southern California I haven’t seen snow for ages and I would love to see some real snow. But this falling snow on the screen, constantly changing direction, is making me very, very dizzy. And I’ve only had one glass of red wine!

      • December 13, 2025 at 6:50 pm

“I’ve only had one glass of red wine!”

Well, Chips, when I wrote that I had just finished a glass. I am now on my third glass and It’s getting hard to tell if it’s the wine or your falling snow that’s disorienting me. Then again, it may be a combination of: wine+age+Chips’ falling snow, that falls every which way.
Snow or no snow, you are still wonderful in my book. You bring so much joy, fun, humor, and knowledge to all of us here at TOD. A quick shout out for UT! She must definitely be my soul mate if she can’t stand this zig-zagging falling snow. I hope you are having a wonderful Friday! I am sure that by the time I see the bottom of this fine CA Zinfandel wine bottle I doubt that the snow will still bother me very much. I am ready to dance along with it. In any case, TGIF! I can just sit back and enjoy my self.

          • December 13, 2025 at 7:37 pm

Nathkatun, I wish I could sit down with ya and share that bottle, you’re a bunch of loveliness!!! (PS Snow’s switched off, it’s safe to come out again!)

” I wish I could sit down with ya and share that bottle…”

That would have been absolutely wonderful! Me and GGail still owe you a nice bottle if California Red (or white) wine! Whenever I am not terribly busy I always make sure to enjoy a good bottle of CA red wine.

On the contrary. JOB! I want to encourage you even more to keep exposing these unethical journalists. I just love how you, and the other TOD twitter warriors, push back against the media BS! Media people like Kantor and Gregory never imagined that there are smart people, like you, who see through their propaganda games. Thanks to the social media you have venues to call them on their Propaganda BS. Please keep on doing what you are doing. You are doing a wonderful job! You are refusing to allow the unethical media to have the last word about TRUTH.

The passing of former South African president and global human rights icon Nelson Mandela on Dec. 5, 2013, prompted a massive outpouring of heartfelt remembrance and mourning worldwide, as millions celebrated his formidable legacy…

99ts, Welcome to the U.S.A. media! Attacking and denigrating President Obama and the First Lady is now the necessary right of passage to the cult of the elite U.S.A. media. For our elite, so called mainstream, media, exposing the idiocy and the lies of right wingers like Sarah Palin, is not kosher.

In my Inbox today. Can someone Tweet this?

A GUIDE TO THE HOUSE REPUBLICAN DO-NOTHING
    CONGRESS: 113TH CONGRESS EDITION

    WHAT THEY DID

    · SHUT DOWN THE GOVERNMENT: After lurching from manufactured crisis to manufactured crisis, the Republicans shut the federal government down for 16 days – taking $24 billion out of our economy and furloughing more than 800,000 federal workers.

    · VOTED TO REPEAL THE ACA: The GOP voted nine times this year to delay, defund or repeal the patient protections and budget savings included in the Affordable Care Act – bringing the total to 46 dead-end votes in a Republican-controlled House.

    · UNDER THEIR LEADERSHIP, SUPPORT FOR CONGRESS BOTTOMED OUT: The average approval rating for Congress in 2013 plummeted to 14 percent – the lowest annual average in Gallup’s history. According to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, 51 percent say THIS Congress is “one of the worst” congresses ever. Also a majority of Americans now view the Tea Party unfavorably – a shift from when the “movement was fairly neutral in 2010… today they hold a more negative opinion than ever.”

    · REACHED HISTORIC LEVELS OF DO-NOTHINGNESS: House Republicans have outdone themselves in one area: inactivity. In the first session of the 113th Congress, the GOP-led House saw fewer bills signed into law than in the first session of the 112th Congress, the previous Do-Nothing-ist Congress in history.

    LAWS

57: Bills that have made it to the President’s desk for his signature. (12/11/2025)
80: Bills signed into law in the first session of the 112th Congress.

CONSISTENTLY IGNORED THE PRIORITIES OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

Polls throughout the year have shown the American people overwhelmingly name jobs and the economy the top issues facing our country, support immigration reform, and increasing the minimum wage; yet, House Republicans failed to pass a single job creation bill, failed to take a single step toward immigration reform, and refused to raise the minimum wage for millions of American workers.

    · NO JOBS BILL

THE ECONOMY & JOBS #1 ISSUE FACING AMERICANS

Gallup: The economy and unemployment and jobs named #1 and #2 most important problem facing the country
CBS News: Economy & Jobs named the top concern for Americans (May, September, October, November 2013) (August, September, October & November 2013)
    · NO IMMIGRATION REFORM

    SUPPORT FOR IMMIGRATION REFORM

Public Religion Research Institute: 63 percent support (11/25)
Partnership for a New American Economy: 71 percent support (11/7)
CBS News: 78 percent support (7/24)
    AP-GfK: 63 percent support (4/16)
    · NO MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE

SUPPORT FOR INCREASING THE MINIMUM WAGE

Wall Street Journal/NBC News: 63 percent support (12/11)
    Quinnipiac: 69 percent support (12/10)
    Gallup: 76 percent support (11/11)
Hart Research: 80 percent support (7/23)
    Pew/USA Today: 71 percent support (2/21)

Great tweet, Chipsticks! This Jodi Kantor is really a piece of work! She can pretend all she wants, but her visceral hatred of the Obamas is so plainly obvious in all her writings about them. She really can’t stand the fact that they are in the White House. She certainly has one of the worst cases of ODS! I wonder what she will write about after Jan. 20th, 2017.

The American press just cannot live with the fact that the Obamas have CLASS. They are great at their work and there are no scandals in their lives. Their children are beautiful and smart and courteous and they all love each other fiercely. So they have to find fault where there is no fault. It’s pathetic trash they are doing their best to manufacture so they’ll have something to write about or talk about on their hideous talk shows.. To think that we once revered the NYT or the networks. Pure garbage.
