@VP @FLOTUS @vj44 Humanity should be grateful that @Pontifex & #PBO are empathetic leaders striving for "Equitable Opportunities" for ALL.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) December 20, 2013
Way to go, META!!!!
Over the next year and decade, two memes that are supportive of a common paradigm must emerge as dominant goals for all humanity – #EquitableOpportunity and #EmpathyNotGreed.
Yes We MUST
@OFA @VP @FLOTUS @vj44 #EquitableOpportunity & #EmpathyNotGreed must become dominant memes of a 21st Century paradigm of sustainability.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) December 20, 2013
Expect interminable tweets from me on the memes of #EquitableOpportunity & #EmpathyNotGreed. Regret if any TODers find that discomforting.
Entirely as a result of enjoying life-long favorite Cambridge and Oxford Choir Performances of Benjamin Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols’ coupled with LL’s post of Christmas classics, yesterday evening, I had the good fortune of cyber-stumbling on The Medelein Choir School that, rather ironically, is located in Salt Lake City.
I have zero ‘organized religion’ affilliations but found it amazing that both venue and pre-K to 8th grade choir and school would reside in Mormon ‘ground zero.’
Moreover, the Madelein Chori School is the ONLY co-ed choir school in the USA – and, it’s obviously racially/culturally diverse
Details aside, these young folk do Benjamin Britten justice …
And, here they are in Rome …
My hope is that as TODers in all time zones awaken or already are awake on 20 Dec 2013, that they have an opportunity to savor these young vocal artists.
Time to depart for some rest …. my hope is that some of you will not only listen to these wonderful young folk but, particularly in the video of their performance of Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols,’ you will observe their facial expressions throughout the entire recording.
Thought about it and decided to send this to our wonderful President, VP, First Lady Obama and Dr. Biden before getting some rest …
@BarackObama @whitehouse @FLOTUS @VP @DrBiden found a way to express my gratitude to you >> youtube.com/watch?v=jlCt4F… TY & Merry Christmas.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) December 20, 2013

Bob, you are a wonder and an inspiration to all of us. Thank you.
Bob, congrats. on #1! Kudos to META’s for doing such a an outstanding job by spreading the message to help people get covered under the ACA.
You absolutely deserve the recognition, meta, because of your commitment to informing everyone of the need to make the 23 Dec 2013 enrollment deadline!!
So glad UT did this!!!
I just really believe in this! Just as the rest of TODers do. People deserve to have peace of mind about their families and their future.
“People deserve to have peace of mind about their families and their future.”
That is the LEAST we can do for everyone of our fellow Americans.
Woot! Woot! Our ObamaCare champ!
Way to go meta!
Excellent idea UT!
Thanks, UT! Go, meta!
We’ve got to get POTUS the numbers!
Maybe we’ll need to go door-to-door!
It’ll happen, meta. Good always wins over bad, in Pres. Obama’s case!
OFA is doing just that in some states!
Great, great, job, Meta!
Defense Programs Bill now being voted in the Senate. Will be interesting to see if any Senator votes against it. I’m fully prepared to excoriate those that do, via the Twitter machine.

Agree, meta. By close of business Monday 23 Dec 2013 the numbers of enrollees is going to be a moment to cherish!!!
This ought to earn me a couple of trolls.

@BobbyJindal – Yeah sure. You should your best bud what's his 'opinion' on non-whites. Oh btw, you're a non-white. Despite your pretensions.— (@amk4obama) December 20, 2013
Oh, I laughed. Even though he’s totally pitiful.
I hate uncle jindals. As an Indian, I have dealt with europeans, russians, japanese, americans and africans in my business over 3 decades. I always stay & act indian.
Be true to yourself = always the best way to go. He’s a total farce.
He is a phucking phony, pahdon my FF.
Way to go AMK! Indians have contributed so much to humanity. I am glad you are happy to act and stay indian even as you broaden your circle of contacts through your interacting with people from other countries and cultures. After all, didn’t India give to the world M. Gandhi, arguably one of the greatest moral teachers/icon in human history? I personally don’t understand why people like Jindal feel that it is necessary to suppress (or down play) their Indian heritage in exchange for being loved and validated by American right wingers. Guess what, for people who believe and preach the doctrine of white supremacy, Bobby Jindal will never be good enough until he completely disavows his Indian-ness! I suppose that’s what he is trying to do.
Pity is even if he paints himself in pasty white, the ‘base’ would never accept him as their equal. If every one is like every one, it becomes a boring world within a second.
You are a treasure, amk. Your international/global perspective is priceless….much like the President’s. Congrats on daughter’s achievements and hope the driving lessons for son-of-amk are going well. Please give wifey unit my total admiration.
Thank you, Lynn. I am a bit lucky to have the opportunities to travel the world. That’s all.
Son got two days of lessons and then back to college again. His real hols start tomorrow but I am sending to another factory for in-plant training the day after. He can have his damned holidays after he finishes the college.
Thank you, Kirsten Gillibrand
BREAKING: Senate approves defense bill addressing sexual assault in military; measure heads to Obama.— The Associated Press (@AP) December 20, 2013
She worked hard on that one!
Yes she did, unfortunately her crucial effort amendment to remove the adjudication from the chain of command did not receive a vote. Hopefully, with a Dem controlled Senate and House, in 2015, that necessary adjustment can be made.
I think they’re going to push for it ASAP next year. We’ll see!
Agree, meta. It is essential that they do so!
I hadn’t realized that. Seems I’ve missed a whole lot of details on these votes – so glad you and others are keeping us informed!
We all do what we can, Jacqueline!!!
Yes, YOU do! Thanks, Bob.
Reminder that signing up for Medicaid under ACA takes place year round starting Jan. 1. Once you qualify your medical bills get covered up to 90 days retroactively.
Thank you for this reminder, Bill R. I’m adding it to my list of tweets.
Barack Obama warns that South Sudan is on the “precipice” of a civil war, as sectarian clashes intensify and a UN mission is attacked.
Thanks so much meta for these wonderful and INFORMATIVE ACA tweets. #YesWeCan
We’re all in this TOGETHER, hf!
China was “irresponsible” and “unhelpful” during the near-collision of a US warship and a Chinese naval vessel, the US Defence Secretary said.
Chuck Hagel said the Chinese boat cut in front of USS Cowpens on 5 December, and described the act as “incendiary”.
China, who described the incident as an “encounter”, said the incident was handled with “strict protocol”.
It has been described as the most serious Sino-US confrontation in the South China Sea since 2009.
The US said its guided missile cruiser was operating in international waters when a Chinese navy vessel forced it to take evasive action.
But China claims parts of the South China Sea, and state-run newspaper Global Times quoted an expert as saying that the US boat had been “harassing” China’s aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, as it carried out drills.
China wants to play, they’ve chosen the worst opponent on the planet. Period.
Lotsa sabre rattling from china towards everybody around them, India, Japan, Korea (who all have a bad blood and badder history) and now US.

Hi amk! I’m on vacation visiting family in AZ! Felt like popping in for a spell last night/ this morning. Heading back home tonight!

Yep! Still am!
Attended young cousin’s graduation from Arizona State Univ. I’m still all-teary-eyed and verklempt.
congrats to cousin. verklempt or not.
a local news update on the president’s holiday stay in hawaii
we’re excited just to have him home, even though i’m personally not on oahu, and won’t see a bit of the action! it’s stormy right now, with fresh snow on our tallest mountain, mauna kea. maybe the obamas will want to play in the snow while they’re here!
Hi Susanne! I’m thrilled to know the First Family will be safe on their much-deserved vacation but it really bothers me when the press publishes this much detail about their security arrangements. Maybe it’s just me.
yes, it’s because there really isn’t any news about the president’s arrival, and people are excited to see the preparations–means he’s really almost here! like christmas decorations for santa, i guess. agreed, it’s not wise to disclose security measures, even in friendly hawaii.
thanks for all your fun posts through the night!
