Good evening (or morning), TOD. Have been around today, but very busy. Scrolled through as I had time. Was able to hear all of the press conference. Gawd……..you can’t fix stupid or ugly. WHPC makes me want to scream.

All told, this POS has cost the taxpayers (so far!!!) more than $50 MILLION!!!!!!! By the time this POS dies or doesn’t run anymore, it will be far greater than that. I live in the land of fucking idiots.

You can read what he did in the New Times lawsuit here: http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2013/12/joe_arpaio_loses_new_times_co-.php

HE NEEDS TO GO! I wish the DOJ would arrest this dangerous lunatic and put an end to his madness!

:) Like a trail of breadcrumbs!!! My day was fine…a little boring only because there was no teaching going on in the midst of all the merriment and parties and movie watching…but the kids were happy and excited so that counts for a lot :) In fairness, all the teachers were happy, smiling and excited to get the hell outta dodge, too…so there’s that:) Happy to be home for 2 weeks and recharge the old batteries….and take my naps whenever I want to….I love my naps more than I love going to sleep at night….Oh, and fuck Arpiao. Sideways. I hate that man.

curious that media jerks insist this has been a bad year for the president. when in reality, their 2013 is another year in a series of terrible years for journalism–unless you define journalism as propaganda and low-brow entertainment. just check any article here for all the evidence you need:

Meta posted this on an early thread today, but a lot going on today, mostly about how the national MSM have abandoned any pretense of fairness or actual reporting. @JuliePaceAP, “aside from the data points you mentioned…” WTH? Isn’t reporting about data points, connecting dots, etc., not outright lying?

This White House puts its money where its mouth is. Supporting Detroit…

[sigh] yes, a different island. but i’ll happily claim that ‘he’s here!’ and send whatever news the first family makes while ‘here’–hopefully their vacation will be very private and restful.

I can imagine, D! Are you visiting with them for a bit, or still recuperating from the big arrival?

              December 21, 2013 at 8:49 am

They are still in the hospital so its trips around the beltway each evening after work to visit with them until about midnight, They might be coming home on Sunday so that will make it easier.

                December 21, 2013 at 8:59 am

Good – only one more day around the beltway!
I’m surprised though, because in my corner they boot us out at 5lbs. Anyways, having them at home will definitely make a difference for all of you – more potential for some good, if brief, relaxation in between feedings and play for starters. Thinking of the two of them always make me smile, so I can imagine *your* level of happiness.

She had a C-section so they leave the mother in the hospital for 5 full days. Also initially the babies blood sugar dropped until they started eating with an IV. They are on bottle and breast now so they’re doing great and there should be no reason not to release them tomorrow. I’m hosting for Christmas so in the midst of all of this I’ve got to get the house ready and prepare my share of the food. I guess I’ll get some rest after Christmas ;)

{{{DD}}} I bet no one will be paying much attention to the house this Christmas, with Tamara and Samaya on hand. Also, don’t forget that time is flying these days, so …….forget food, and enjoy the girls. ;) Mr. DD will cook.

Everyone is helping with the food. I actually have very little to do this year but still hosting can be a bit of work. Fortunately I had started getting the house ready long before the grand babes arrived. I’ve got to get “S” (my niece) signed up for O’Care this weekend. Wish me luck!

‘Fortunately I had started getting the house ready long before’ This is one morning I wish I could say that. I am hosting too and I haven’t done a thing with the house yet. Well, I brought up the tree from the basement yesterday – that’s it, and here I am hours after waking up, still on line. I’m waiting for the urge, or should I say the inspiration, to start. ;)

Good luck, with your niece, DD. Can preemie birth still potentially bankrupt you in the states if you have no insurance? Could that be a potential side point or has #ACA changed that? I remember being flabbergasted when I discovered that many, many families lost house/home when they were thrown into turmoil with a preemie birth. I’ll definitely be rooting for you to convince niece it’s in her very best interest to get covered.

If that is true, Maddow needs to get real and GROW UP. I don’t watch MSNBC so I can’t necessarily vouch for the accuracy of the tweet. But I wouldn’t be at all surprised, from Maddow’s history where PBO & LGBT rights are concerned.

I’m presently back in my hometown of the great state of Missouri after spending 24 wonderful, joyous, magnificent years in Chicago (Chi-Town). I lived 8yrs deep South in Cook County (1988-1996 Country Club Hills), deep North in Lake County (1996-2001 Grayslake, IL), last but not least, Central NorthShore Cook County (2001-2012 Downtown-Evanston, IL) next best thing to living downtown Chicago.

In 1992, the company I was working for retained Sidley & Austin, major Law firm in downtown Chicago to address some environmental issues. One cold January day in 1992, while on the 37th Floor, I encounter Michelle Robinson (Obama). I did not know who she was, but as she strolled by, I stood up and I don’t remember what I said, but I said something and she laughed :).

I had heard of Barack Obama as relative to Bobby Rush, and when he was an IL State Senator. When he decided to run for US Senate in 2003-2004, I seen via TV a lot more of him, especially in debates with Allen keys. In watching those debates, I said to myself, Barack is one of the sharpest people I had ever seen. We all know what happen at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

On Saturday afternoon September 15, 2006, I was watching Senator Tom Harkins annual Iowa Stake-Fry, which Senator Obama was a guest speaker. It wasn’t his great speech that convinced me he was going to run for President, it was what happen on the rob-line (which he was still mic’ed) that I was thoroughly convinced, he was going to run for President, because him being who he is, there was no way he was going to turn his back on the pleading that occurred.

I just wanted to share this>> Thanks Ms. Chips, for providing a place to release.

‘ This will be the First Family’s sixth Christmas in Hawaii since he was elected president, and keeping with tradition they’ll be spending it in Kailua.

His sister says she’s looking forward to his arrival.
“We are so pleased that he can find community and sweetness here and spend some time in this land, in this place. This is for him a place of pleasure ’tis true, but also of family intimacy and spiritual grounding,” said Maya Soetoro-Ng, before adding, “Please forgive any traffic that is increased or made more dense as a result of his arrival and know that he and the rest of the family are very thankful for this chance to find a retreat.” ‘

Very important – from Al Giordano via Booman ….

“Having spent a quarter century working to free nonviolent drug offenders from prison, I have something to say right now. It’s controversial still today, but it was radical heresy to suggest in the eighties to liberate people who have been demonized by the media as criminals and somehow dangerous. Obama’s pardon of eight such prisoners yesterday is a case in point and should be a teaching moment for anybody who wants to affect real change.

To say, “Oh, it’s only eight, he should have released all tens of thousands of them” is trademark “Eeyore Activism” (the syndrome in which any one step toward progress is never enough, in which some even express anger at the person who made that step). …… ”
