GE Chips and TOD family!
I’ve finally watched all episodes of Breaking Bad! Excellent series. Highly recommend it.
I’m nearing the end of Season 4 Allison, I no longer sleep because I watch it at night, almost afraid to advance to Season 5 :-(
I’m having withdraw issues…excellent series…..Chips, watch Season 5….it’s goooood!!!
DF, thank you for the Amazon info. I watched the final episode on Prime.
You’re welcome, Allison…yes, Amazon Prime…that was it. Thank goodness for that! I can’t imagine waiting for Netflix when I was already into it. What were they thinking with that stupid stunt? Bet that pissed a lot of people off. Did me! So glad that worked for you:)
It’s good and it gets even better!!! I spent most of my two-week Christmas vacation watching it!!
:) Me, too! That’s EXACTLY how I spent my vacation…..

Before I head off to sleep, I’m weighing in on Jay Carney’s scruff stuff. He either needs to grow it in more and trim it close…or shave the whole thing off. I’ll give him more time…but it just looks thin, scraggly and messy to me….right now anyway:) Still adorable though…no matter what’s going on with the face hair.
I think its a holiday thing – be gone by next week – if not sooner

Night all…been a day. See everyone for the Early Bird Chat…
Bob and his wife live in Toledo, Ohio. One winter morning while listening to the radio, they hear the announcer say, “We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through.” Bob’s wife goes out and moves her car.
A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio announcer says, “We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through.”
Bob’s wife goes out and moves her car again.
The next week they are having breakfast again, when the radio announcer says “We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park………..” then the electric power goes out.
Bob’s wife is very upset, and with a worried look on her face she says, “Honey, I don’t know what to do.” Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snowplow can get through?
With the love and understanding in his voice like all men who are married to Blondes exhibit, Bob says, “Why don’t you just leave it in the garage this time?”
:P . If I had posted this, pitchforks and broomsticks would be brought out.
You betcha :D :D :D
I just read that to my blonde granddaughter, and she laughed. She said, “I laugh because I’m not like the other blondes.”
I’m blonde and I thought it was funny.
Good! Because all blondes have a great sense of humor.
How’s that for another stereotype!
Hair color has nothing to do with intelligence levels, of course, so let the jokes fly. I like the fact my 3 blonde granddaughters get that and aren’t intimidated – they collect blonde jokes!

If Africa is still here, just a note that the Republican obstruction began the week after Barack Obama was elected President in 2008:
This is about Republican Governors — note the “one-term” President scheme — I think there was a meeting earlier in DC with various GOP DC
Senators/Reps about one-term Presidency. The GOP were plotting along these lines before Luntz got involved in Jan 2009.
By Mark Z. Barabak

Reporting from Miami — With Barack Obama busy building his administration, Republicans gathered Thursday to discuss ways to make him a one-term president and turn back a rising Democratic tide.
The cynic in me says a concerted effort between all of them. How ironic that the governors have their meeting shortly after PBO election in November and Luntz and his crew in January. Just as we are watching national level GOP try to repeal Obamacare, while Governors simultaneously refuse to accept the Medicaid exchanges.
To my mind, they all work together, all the time. Witness the lock step obstruction on the hill, even as some try to paint themselves as moderates in the Senate. Yet they all voted together against everything PBO sought to do.
Africa, it also amazing to me how all of the people involved in this destruction of POB knew in may ways that the country was in deep trouble, but they could not muster up the courage over their evil thinking to step up and do the right thing by the people, the nation and the world who would be almost destroyed. They knew this. How could this evil take place right before their evil eyes.
It also showed me that right at the very moment of sitting and plotting against this president; they still never varied in their evil ways to stop and say, “We cannot do this to this nation and the people just because we do not like this man, the 44th President, Barack Obama running this country.” Too much power for a black man to know how it is all done. Never thought it would happen in our time.”
That is the bottom line. When evil takes complete control over the mind of some white ownership mentalities, I am master, you are not smart enough, and you get in your place, boy; where do you think you are going; you are suppose to be serving me; you are suppose to be driving me around; and on it goes…… they will never see light. There is too much darkness within their hearts and their spaces.
There is a hellish place in their spaces, I do believe that is waiting for all of them somewhere and someday. I do believe it..HZ
Samsung Electronics, the world’s biggest maker of mobile phones and TVs, has forecast a fall in profit for the October-to-December quarter.
It expects to make an operating profit of 8.3 trillion won ($7.8bn; £4.8bn) for the quarter, down 18% from the previous three months.
Compared to the same period in the previous year, it is a 6% decline.
Samsung did not say what caused the dip, but analysts said falling profit margins for smartphones had hurt it.
“As the growth in the smartphone sector matures, and vendors seek expansion in emerging economies, both prices and operating margins have been coming down,” Manoj Menon, managing director of consulting firm Frost & Sullivan, told the BBC.
Mr Menon added that profit margins of smartphone makers were likely to “remain under pressure” in the coming months.
I have one brother who woud say this is due to the fact that Samsung makes shitty phones. Besides, with still showing a disgustingly high profit margin – PROFIT MARGIN – I doubt too many of them will be apply for food stamps, eh? Evening y’all, long and tiring day. Wil lurk a bit, then slip away! Big hugs all around! Have missed much lately!
Don’t agree about Samsung shitty phones.
I’m definitely a late adopter, but my many Samsung cell phones have been quite functional and inexpensive. I think the Koreans do a good job with their consumer electronic products.

I assume that those in the midwest are snuggled cozily under their blankets now (I know I would be), but a 140F temperature differential in the USA is pretty amazing. Looks like the high temp in California is in the San Luis Obispo area (near where Sideways was filmed).

I think forus50 said that the Canadian picture on the main page of this thread looks photoshopped (the trees on top of the snow bank don’t look like tree tops).
But it reminds me A LOT of being in Lassen National Park (Northern California) one Memorial Day weekend many moons ago.
The road wasn’t hemmed in as closely by the snow banks as this road is, but the snow banks were nearly as high, and quite solid.
As you can imagine, the park was pretty much deserted (some, or maybe most portions of the park were still closed for winter).
My absolute FAVORITE thing about the park is that the restrooms were HEATED. LOVE the National Park Service! I definitely took my time in that lovely heated space before braving the freezing temps — I acknowledge that I’m a wimp, having lived only in SoCal all my life.
Hey Arapaho, great story and I know as much about photoshopping as I do about brain surgery. I looked around and didn’t see any reference it to being photoshopped so I’m going with it. And now I’m just wondering about vc’s car. Which way is it going? :)

I just saw he was holding her hand. Sweet.
Wasn’t his mother an anthropologist? Maybe the turtle has some significance to that. She was a woman of many talents and her son followed in her footsteps. I wish that she could see him now.
I like to think she sees him now!

@Lawrence @maddow Simply, once American women realize that Pro-Life v Abortion is just another #GuyScam to CONTROL women, the @GOP is DEAD.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) January 07, 2014
… time for some rest, but before departing, the day that the vast majority of women on this planet decide to take control of their lives (and those of their children) the human species will actually have an opportunity to evolve, sustainably. That is not hyperbole. That is FACT.
If only all men were so wise. Of course, you’re correct in your assessment regarding the control of women, but I believe that to be only a bonus result of the war against women. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that is the theme they openly support. In the final analysis, I believe it is about population control and the panic over minority domination. That is why we see such rash reproductive policies. The election of President Obama struck at and reaffirmed their worst fears and passing immigration reform is not in their best interest.
The Birth Control War – Religion Has Nothing to do With It
While our legislators are upending every hard-earned reproductive right American women have, the United States is an active participant in Family Planning 2020; a global partnership that supports the rights of women and girls to decide, freely, and for themselves, whether, when, and how many children they want to have.

I had to come back to say one more thing. I believe it was 99ts who mentioned that in her country the Right’s craziness is finding prominence. In the past month, I’ve been in 6 countries. Every English-speaking major news network carries that disgusting familiar logo – Fox News! Next up – CNN. This morning I turned to a network that claims unbiased review. I thought, “oh goody”. The announcer said he was going to discuss Benghazi with a leading authority. After commercial break, he introduced Muslim hate activist, Pam Gellar!
We used to get Bill Kristol as the voice of America on our ABC (like PBS) station. First time I have ever sent a “you are stupid” email to an Oz presenter. Major problem with US pundits – they are picked up via Reuters or AP or what used to be “respected” names in media – and they spread – world wide. Very few countries now have reporters in many countries outside of their own – they are dependent on 3rd party news sources – and most carry water for the GOP.
