Have a awesome day and weekend!
If you haven’t heard, the GOP weekend address (delivered by some Governor from Georgia) is; repeal Obamacare and start from the beginning with common sense legislature. This is unbelievable, they had a chance to use common sense when President Obama asked for their input? It is evident that this is what they are going to run on in 2014.
Ah….Governor (NO) Deal……
He was a Congressman before he decided to run for Governor……he resigned his seat in March of 2010 just a couple days before the vote on the ACA. Then, he ” Unresigned ” so he could vote NO on it and then re-resigned the next day.
All this while he was under ethics investigation for manipulating the Ga , Legislature to funnel funds to his business here in Georgia.
Yet, they still elected him for Governor……..
man, if you are a criminal, all you need to do is run for a public office as a member of the gop
Happy Saturday Linda,
Wow! this is all they have, they could have used Christie.
I hope that you will have a great day and awesome weekend!!!
Governor Scott from Florida was elected AFTER being convicted for Medicare Fraud. Tells you a lot about political polarization and the pathetic media. Either people didn’t care if Scott was a criminal because he was republican, or… they didn’t even know. I have to say that particular election in Florida left me speechless.
Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD Family. I hope everyone is doing well.
Good morning ranman11,
Have a GREAT DAY!!!
This just in from Christie, ” It’s all just a big misunderstanding. I instructed my aides to block access to the FRIDGE, NOT the BRIDGE!”
You WIN with this one Linda!!!!!! LOL
It will not fly, especially with detective RMaddow on the case. She is doing an awesome job with this. She is connecting the dots the way the investigators have probably not thought about as of yet.
Her show last night was excellent, Christie boy has it in his blood to do payback. It was amazing to see how others were taken down after they crossed his path and wasn’t his puppet. The man is an over zealous bully-no doubt; if I can’t get what I want, I will destroy you, and he has been successful at doing just that-he is dangerous.
It’s sad to say but the conservative mind seems more prone to lack of ethics, fraud, and crime. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the biggest scandals at the Presidential level have happened with Republican presidents. Watergate, Iran-Contra, Abu Ghraib, Illegal wiretaps. (The Lewinsky scandal was not pleasant but it was just about Clinton’s private life; not at the same level, by far, as what the republican presidents did. And that scandal was totally overhyped and overblown by republicans and by the media.)
Thinking of it, no wonder that the minute a democrat is elected president, republicans become obsessed with finding “scandals” to hurt that president. It’s all about “getting even”. In a book I read some time ago, authored by John Dean, the Nixon lawyer who turned whistleblower, he related that he knew republicans who were so mad that they had been humiliated by Watergate, they wanted revenge on Clinton. “Their guy” had been impeached, so they wanted to impeach the next democratic president. Nothing to do with reality or with respect of Constitution and laws. It was ALL ABOUT retribution.
Good morning Linda,
Have an awesome day and weekend!
Good Morning Ms. Chips!

Good morning globalcitizenlinda,
Thank you for the news, he is getting what he deserves, in every way. They (repukes) put him up on a pedestal, he was going to be their “great white hope”, bulldog style, to pounce on and crush the black man who is in charge and lives in the White House. Well, he is being pounced on and many of his pushers are running away from him as he is falling.
They built him up on nothing but being a nasty, loud mouth, arrogant (S.O.B.), self serving individual; he is reaping what he sowed on others. Payback is a _________.
Have a wonderful and awesome weekend!!!!
Christie may be regretting his press conference already ha ha ….
Great headline, global, and hopefully the first of many. It would be a big triumph if Christie turned off NJ since we’ve been hearing how a Dem presidential candidate could lose in NJ and NY if Christie ran. I never bought the NY thing, but if NJ turns against him, he’s not only toast, he’s burned toast.
Jackie I never believed that as well. There is no way that a republican is going to win a blue state like NY. That’s like a democrat having a shot at Utah or Oklahoma. Not going to happen ! And NJ is a blue state that has always voted for a democrat by a very large margin since the 90′s. Even the sorry polls today show that Christie would lose his state if he ran against a democrat.
The media loves to pretend (or have the public believe) that local state/city politics transfer seamlessly to presidential elections. Nothing could be further from the truth. Just ask Mitt Romney who was governor of MA but lost to PBO by a humiliating margin. Just ask Sarah Palin who was “most popular governor” before she was selected to be McCain’s running mate. As Jziglar said, not only would Christie lose in NY, but he would lose in NJ as well. The true “base” of the Dem party – minorities and young people, come out to vote in Presidential elections and PAY ATTENTION to what is going on, in ways that they don’t for local or off-year elections. Christie himself knew this – he was polling quite UNfavorably to PBO in NJ in 2011/2012 (hence all those photo-ops to bolster his image), and he didn’t want the curse of having to run as Willard’s VP candidate and then lose.
Good morning hopefruit2,
Can you imagine if Christie and Romney was in the White House? I believe that Romney knew something about Christie and didn’t want his baggage. Repukes want to compare this to the computer glitch (Obamacare), are they insane?
Have a wonderful Saturday hopefruit2!
G’morning Cindy and Happy Saturday to you! If Willard & Christie were in the WH today- I would probably be in an asylum by now.
The repukes were hoping! I would be right there (asylum) with you, sharing space, and asking the proverbial question; Lord….Why?
It may be the case, but I also think that the Romney team was afraid to put on the ticket a man who had the potential to outshine the presidential candidate.
Christie not adding up.

I hope this sage gives a lesson to NJ democrats who voted for Christie. Don’t get fool by the persona, just look at how a guy operates, what are his policies !!!

Gm, Chips and “TODers.” Looks as if our area is leaving the Arctic for the tropics today–temp in the 50′s, 100 percent humidity. Tomorrow one of our umpteenth candidates for Pa governor is coming to speak to us in a local coffee house. I think they should all start to wear numbers so that we can pick them out of the crowd. There are more people running for governor here than there were in the GOP primary in 2012. It’s laughable when we can’t get candidates for Congress. Of course, we never get the top tier to visit here. You know it’s a sign of desperation when they travel to an R majority county. I’m still smarting from the “betrayal” of Dem senators on Iran sanctions. We have to convince these guys that there’s a price to pay for disloyalty.
Good morning jackiegrumbacher,
Isn’t it amazing, every time the dems have the public on their side, President Obama is working his rear end off for the people, some of the dems always jump ship. It never fails, I am convinced that they (dems) do not like being in charge. Why can’t they just fall in line and hold true to our values and support the hardest working President that we have had?
They don’t fall in line because they don’t have the vision that President Obama has, they don’t understand him. President Obama’s concepts of how government should work are foreign to them. Most politicians are creatures of habit, they love and crave sameness. President Obama delivered health care, ended DADT and DOMA, made gay marriage legal on the federal level etc. etc. etc. In his five short years as President, President Obama has dragged this nation forward. There is nothing bold about what those dozen or so Democratic Senators did in opposing President Obama stance on Iran, those Senators took the easy way out; they love the status quo more than they love progress. President Obama is a visionary, most politicians are reactionaries. President Obama has a certain level of frustration; at night when he is alone in his thoughts he probably says to himself “why can’t these people see the bigger picture, are they blind?” Maybe they aren’t blind, maybe they just don’t believe in what is possible.
Good morning Don,
Well said. It just frustrates me, so I can only imagine what President Obama must feel.
Have a wonderful Saturday and awesome weekend!
Well, that may be the case but many of these mopes are supposed to be the “next generation” of Dem leaders. It feels like a coup and I’m furious.
Good morning meta,
They are not “next generation” leaders, they are nothing more than; run and hide, come out when it’s safe followers.
Have a wonderful Saturday!
Agreed! Have a great day, Cindy.
The thing is, Don, WE see it and most of us are just schmos (at least I am) doing their every day jobs. The problem with our Dem reps is that they don’t FEAR us. They fear the money guys, but they don’t care how we feel. I can hear it in the tone of voice from staff reps that take phone calls–”when is this lady getting off the phone–who cares what she thinks.” When I call them on it, they say, “oh, no, your call is very important to us.” Truth is the biggest $ guy has only one vote and so do we, but there are more of us than there are of them. I want to shout this into the phone, but I usually restrain myself so that I don’t get pegged as a looney.
jackie, I feel the same why, one person one vote. Me coming here is my “shouting into the phone.”

Thx, Global. Since he’s essentially been lost to his family for eight years, this is probably a good thing for bringing closure to those who love him.
Steve Kornacki will be good today. He is from Jersey and knows all the players in this scandal….
I am watching and this is a made for movies, I Spy, style. This is unbelievable what has gone on with Christie and his goons.
Set my DVR. Since hubby is home, I can’t watch. Husband will be hiking Sunday-Tuesday so I will watch then. Like that better because I can watch only what I want to.
I wonder if this will be a wake up call for MSNBC – when they let their pundits tell the truth and/or search for the truth rather than attack the President and the democrats – people watch. No-one on the right will ever watch – they watch Fox. CNN has lost so many viewers since it tried to duplicate Fox News
John Wisniewski is on every show on MSNBC – speaks extremely well.
99ts, I agree, they need to learn from this. I want the truth from news. This has been amazing to watch. It is truly a blessing that there was not a disaster (heavy rain fall, threat called in etc.) on those days that they decided to play with human lives. Those involved committed a criminal act and Christie cream is at the head of it. He pays back when he is crossed and Dr.Maddow show exposed his evil ways last night. She is tearing these lies apart, inch by inch, exposing Christie evil heart.
It’s absolutely staggering that they pulled this on anniversary of 9/11.
I heard that Maddow received her best ratings in weeks – because of her reporting/discussion on the Christie situation. MSNBC needs to take note. Emoprogery, Snowdenwald arsekissing, and PBO-bashing are a toxic combination for this network’s ratings.
She did hf – someone linked to the details a day or so ago. I even watched (online) MJ on Thursday – but not Friday when they all decided Christie was forgiven and lets get back to Benghazi
I fervently hope Christie gets taken down. And I hope the dems who made deals with him start turning on him. He is a despicable man. He continues to have his fans, especially here in some parts of south Jersey. As someone said, Christie could put a kitten in a microwave, and some would still vote for him since he is a repub.
Good morning Diane from NJ,
The dems who supported him; they knew that he is corrupt, and I believe that some of them, if not all, were compensated well for their support.
I agree Cindy. There clearly was some corruption going on with the buying of votes/endorsements and what not, but these underhanded schemes will easily and quickly come to light in a Presidential election.
Yes it will, just as Bush/Cheney mess came to light and President Obama had to clean it up.
Indeed. The good thing (and main difference) is that Christie’s corruption will come to light BEFORE he gets voted into office, not after he has served 8 years and damaged the country severely.
Sadly they didn’t come to light before November.
I totally agree with you and no one is more deserving of being taken down than Christie.
Regarding the NJ Dems – From Barbara Buono’s concession speech “The Democrat political bosses––some elected, some not, made a deal with this governor, despite him representing everything they’re supposed to be against. They didn’t to it to help the state. They did it out of a desire to help themselves politically and financially.”
WilTal, Buono was the best chance NJ had. Now, unless they can manage a recall, they are stuck with this corrupt horse’s ass for four years. I hope all the bribe’s the Dem bosses took come back to choke them.
I am hoping the same, this is all disturbing because the dems knew who, and what he is. They are just as guilty for putting lives in danger because they knew what this scumbag was capable of doing.
Happy Saturday everyone.
Happy weekend Africa – enjoy
Happy Saturday africa,
Have a wonderful day and an awesome weekend!
Despite revelations this week that members of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s (R) staff maneuvered a catastrophic traffic jam, the governor will headline fundraisers for Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando next Saturday, according to the National Journal.
“We always welcome Governor Christie to Florida,” state House Speaker Will Weatherford (R) told the magazine. “An unfortunate situation has taken place and he’s addressed it. He’s not hiding from it. I think he handled it well.”
Christie, the chief of the Republican Governors Association, would normally play a critical role in fundraising for his party’s incumbents and challengers in races across the country. But his fundraising appeal may be diminished in the wake of the scandal — his favorability rating is down 8 points.
HuffPost Pollster, which combines all publicly available polling data, shows Crist leading Scott 46 percent to 37 percent in the governor’s race.
This is the GOP way – move along – nothing to see – lets get back to Benghazi. Christie should go down for this, but perhaps there are just too many people with too much to lose – how else did he get a democratic state to vote him into power?
He is coming here to Florida? Disgusting bag of wind. I hope people show up and protest and I will join them. Two corrupt politicians, as we got stuck with Scott Medicaid fraud. They deserve each other but the people deserves none of this B.S.
Linda, our disgusting governor, Corbett, also wants Christie to campaign for him. I say, let them. Let Christie be the kiss of death that destroys both Scott and Corbett. They are brothers under the skin–corrupt, venal, and incompetent.
Well, when Christie goes down, Corbett, Scott will wish they’d never taken those photos with Christie at their fundraisers. Wouldn’t it be sweet justice if Christie helps bring down other crook governors ?

Baby sings ” Wrecking Ball “
Morning everyone:) Happy Saturday!!! I thought this was a good read from BJ ..
Here’s David Simon, the man behind The Wire:
… For that kind of behavior you need someone really, really small. For the anger and argument to become that self-absorbed and infantile… You need someone who saw himself as being not only larger than the sum of his constituents, but larger than the commonweal itself. Add in the potential for actually harming innocent people — ambulances unable to reach calls, school buses unable to transport children… For this kind of petty venality, you have to look to a Huey Long or a Richard Nixon, someone for whom any fealty to democratic processes and public service no longer matters when personal ambition and aggrandizement are at stake.
If Mr. Christie didn’t order this mayhem himself, then he knew because the aides who achieved this carnage on his behalf were so successful in doing so that they could not have possibly held their silence. Not over the course of four long days of maintaining the traffic snarl in Fort Lee… The same kind of people who would embark on such an action would not be able to do anything but run right down the hall to tell the governor how they had delivered pain to his political enemy. They would then wait on their attaboy. People of that ilk live for the attaboy. Like cats with a fresh-caught mouse, they were bringing home a prize. And there’s no joy for any housecat if the prize can’t be displayed to the master of the house.
I’m sorry for Mr. Christie, who seems in his better moments to be something of a leader. But anger and argument lose all charm when they are employed for stakes so small, stupid and selfish. He knew. And he’s lying about it now.
About sums it up, don’t you think?
I love these early morning chats since I can’t keep awake for the late night ones. Off to walk in the PA tropics this am. I have osteoarthritis and have to either walk every morning or go to the gym and work out. Otherwise…stiffness, pain. Use it or lose it my doctor says.
Enjoy your walk jackiegrumbacher,
Sorry to hear that you have osteoarthritis; enjoy your walk, think of good things and express gratitude that you can still walk. I complained (I know you’re not complaining) last weekend because I wanted to go to DSW and buy shoes-no special occasion, but my schedule was hectic. However, I stopped my complaining when I left Whole Foods, and there sat a vet with no legs, and his right arm missing, he was asking for help. I didn’t need those shoes, and I stopped wanting them when I saw the vet who had no legs.
I am glad that you can muster the pain, and as Nike say’s it, just do it! Happy Walking and Enjoyment….. : )
I have same thing (osteo). I contend that my regular and faithful attendance at Curves for so many years is one of the main things that has helped/saved me from getting really bad. That, along with treadmilling at least 5 nights a week, has been greatly curtailed because of other physical (female) problems. Surgery in a couple of weeks and doctor has assured me once fully recovered, I will be back to my normal, active, feel good self.
That’s great, Tn. Let us know how the surgery goes. Hope it’s a super speedy recovery.

White House Dares Democratic Senators Pushing Iran Sanctions To Admit They Want War huff.to/1aLByW6 via @HuffPostPol— Dorothy Rissman (@stiNgo100) January 11, 2014
This is due to AIPAC …..( a foreign entity operating on American soil . )
What the ???
The White House still isn’t saying whether it will approve or reject a permit for the northern segment of the Keystone XL pipeline, which would transport heavy crude oil from Canada to the United States. But the president’s former national security adviser Thomas E. Donilon, told an Aspen Institute audience Tuesday that he “probably would” back it on energy security grounds.
In the last couple of minutes of his discussion with Walter Isaacson, the Aspen Institute’s president and CEO, Donilon explained that the fact that U.S. energy production had increased in recent years made it easier for the administration to impose trade sanctions on Iran. Isaacson followed up by asking, “I know you’re not in the administration so maybe you could answer this would you recommend for the Keystone pipeline if you were there, for that reason?”
At first, Donilon, who is now a distinguished fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations, appeared uncomfortable at the prospect of voicing an opinion.
“It is hard to go from being an administration spokesperson to uh…” he said, prompting Isaacson to crack a joke.
“You want to turn off the microphone and just whisper it to us?” he asked.
After a little throat clearing, Donilon replied, “I probably would.”
The key word being FORMER. If John Kerry has a say in this, I think he wouldn’t allow this dangerous, greedy farce across our land. I hope I’m right. NO XL PIPELINE! This could be WV over MANY STATES!

Even PBS was doing it last night….
Evidence is there that the Mayor sent repeated inquires regarding the lane closures and how it was impacting his city. No one in Christie’s Admin had the common decency to acknowledge or address his concerns.

Call me crazy, but I am not totally buying this. What if Menendez thinks this is a behind the scenes maneuver as a message to Iran that the deal needs to get done sooner than later? Otherwise I find it hard to believe he really wants more sanctions during these sensitive negotiations. Can he really be that stupid? If he was a Republican, that answer would be unequivocally yes.
What a surprise. NOT!
