Chat away, night owl type persons!
A frosty good nite to all !
You know what’s better than a light rum gimlet? An aged rum gimlet. Yum.
Hey lib lib, can you please post this photo for “snow bringing out the best in people?” It’s just too cute for words. ( I hope you can see if…)
Do you have the http address?
Ha. It’s a red wine night….
Or a white wine night …
Here’s to us! And to POTUS, FLOTUS, VPBiden and Dr Biden, and all who strive each and every day to do some good in this world!
Well, then, clink – again!
Tell me about it. :)
Having champagne here.
Mmmmmm.. Champagne = good.
Very good! And it’s the real French stuff… :)
Call it “champagne” if it’s not from the Champagne region and you’ll have angry French lawyers up your wazoo.
I’m safe – drinking Veuve Clicquot.
Yes, indeed, and my daughter as well! Of course our Theo would only drink the real thing!
Stay warm, all you TODers up north. We are an absolutely frigid 55 degrees down here on the gulf coast, though we are expecting cooler temps on Friday. Heads up: I retweet a lot of TOD tweets and was just “chastised” by a RWNJ,complete with the black BENGHAAAAAZI!!! Ribbon in his avatar. He asked if I had an original thoughts or if I just “obsessively retweet liberal propaganda” He may begin to harass TODers on twitter or start trolling the blog since I seem to have annoyed him…
That’s why baby Buddha invented the block button. I don’t even waste my time.
Yep, thought about replying but life is too short to bother with jackasses.
If he does, he may learn to regret it! No one messes with TODObots.
I have no doubt he will regret it. Nerdy Wonka and AMK come to mind ;)
He may suffer less ill health if he does not engage bobfr (who wastes no words) or VC (tells it like it is)! Of course, those two are way too savvy to meet such a lowlife on his own sad level.

Forgive Paul Ryan, you know yesterday was MLK service day and Ryan was busy helping at the homeless shelters him and his family washing all the clean dishes.
Yes, and I think Paul Ryan ate a burrito today, to remind people that Pres. Obama helped serve them at a food kitchen on the holiday, and such. Forgive him.
Reagan expanded government more than any modern-day President. His was the largest non-military workforce in three decades. The only president who had a workforce that surpassed Reagan’s was President Johnson’s, during the Vietnam War.
Reagan began office with a total of 4,982,000 employees and ended his term with 5,292,000 employees.
President Obama took office with a federal employee roster of 4,430,000 employees. At the end of 2010 President Obama’s federal workforce numbered 4,443,000; that’s 849,000 fewer employees than Reagan, the advocate of small government! Add to this the fact that President Reagan governed during peacetime, while President Obama inherited two wars. President Obama’s figures also include over 200,000 (temporary) census workers.
you should tweet that with a gif.
I’m not on Twitter, but anyone who is is certainly welcomed to do so.

When President Barack Obama’s campaign machine restructured itself as a politically active nonprofit in 2013, one goal was to keep attracting the legions of small-dollar donors who had twice helped catapult Obama into the White House.
Now the numbers are in for 2013, and they show that Organizing for Action, as the pro-Obama nonprofit is known, has been wildly successful….

it still shocks me how they twist the narrative away from reality. i was glancing at the headlines in wapo’s website (won’t give them a click) and saw a photo of chris christie with this title: ‘benghazi, obamacare show politicians’ unwillingness to take responsibility’. smdh.

Still – they are coming unstuck :)

Good morning to all you lovely people. As usual, I’m on night duty with the wood stoves and this is when I miss Dudette the most. So glad she’s recovering. We’ve got -20 (feels like -38 according to the NWS) here in CNY 13027. The icicles look like the bars of a jail cell………gives a whole new meaning to the words ‘house bound’.
Although I only post sporadically, I lurk 24/7 and would be absolutely lost without this treasure chest of sanity.
My one wish would be that The OBAMA Diary would continue to follow OUR President after he leaves office and persist in the commentary/coverage on our political scene that has made this site one of the few that cuts through the crap with research, links and global input.
Ms. Chips, I will be forever grateful.
i’m also a mostly-lurky fan of this fabulous place. and just today i was thinking how the work of barack obama and michelle obama will not be limited by their leaving the white house at the end of his second term in the presidency. in fact, the presidency is just one phase of their work, which began long before and will continue long after they complete this project. i also hope the obama diary will continue to chronicle their lives and accomplishments, and provide a haven for the many, many like-minded supporters of these giants of our time.
Thanks for the response, Susanne, and agree with your comment. This is just stage 1 for our President and the future can be very bright. I lost hope after JFK, MLK, and RFK., but President Obama has been worth the wait and I believe his global impact is just beginning.
Ride a wave for me, Susanne, Aloha!
GM Lynn – I miss Dudette’s music as well – so pleased she is getting better
On the other side of the world – we had 102 today
Good evening to you, 99ts. You’re 15 hours ahead of us if I’m not mistaken, so it’s still 102 at 9PM? Yipes! Your wildfires and drought have been no joke either.
My partner just came through the room with a cup of coffee and proudly proclaimed: “It’s minus 22!” Also YIPES!
Hopefully, THE Dudette will be back soon to regale us once again. (She also keeps my mind off the thermometer.)
Love and peace to you and yours. And don’t forget to give that grandbabe an extra hug from all of us.
-22!! Yikes and Yikes – I always think I’ll keep the heat when I hear about the cold.
I didn’t mean to confuse – our max today was 102 – it’s a cool 90 at the minute
Only 90, well that’s all together different! Is there room in the pool ’cause I’m headed your way! I’ll be the one with the umbrella drinks.
It’s down to -24 the last I checked. I think I’ll stop checking.
And don’t forget that extra hug for the babe.
:) thank you for the babe hug – she is growing so fast – 16 months & quite the miss – I am still amazed at how much she stole our hearts!
Happy New Year Lynn.
We are glad Dudette is on the mend and getting better. Please stay warm and be careful. Wish you can send your melted ice to Cali.

Yeah, he was just one point away.
Still he will win.
mmmm – Nadal won – but I’m hoping Fedex will win – If you can lip read – check Murray when he loses a shot – puts me off him more than anything else.
All the manic grunts, fist shaking, yelling from andy, rafa, joker et. al. is a big turn-off for me too. Come on dudes, you just won a point in tennis, not a fucking nobel prize.
Couldn’t agree more – this is why Fedex is so popular – a gentleman & a scholar. I rarely watch grunt matches – insane – men and women
bjorg, fedex – the classiest players I’ve watched.
I have a few years on you – I watched Laver, Rosewall, Newcombe
Jimmy Connors was one of the first tantrum throwers.
20 minutes for 1 game!
Also.Too. The players I love to watch move so gracefully in the court – Miloslav Mecir, the big cat and Fedex.
I’m having fun watching MJ this week – never watched for more than a few minutes before – GOP governors crumbling all around him – hahahaha
Here we go – Joe says Gov of Virginia hasn’t broken Virginia laws – therefore it’s all the Feds fault – they have wrong laws
My Lord – will they ever stop supporting crooks!! Now they think Mrs Governor had every right to have a top quality ball dress!!!! She needed that money.
Grifters gotta grift.
Federer wins in 4 sets
Done and dusted. Fab Fed moves into semis.
I thought he was going to blow it again – so hope he gets to the final
Joe doesn’t understand why the Feds went after him because he didn’t break any laws in Virginia – my heavens – why does he think the feds went after him – because Virginia allows anyone to give money to politicians for whatever reason.
Chuck Todd – the Governor was the victim – the wife was the bad one
Someone should ask this lot – what would they be saying if the President did the things that the GOP Governors have done!
someone ought to warn this squirrel that cats have sharp teeth.
Mooooooorning Early Birds!
Are you there Mr Amk? Can I take it that you are rather pleased with FedEx?
Read thy own blog. Jeez.
Victory for Federer sees him reach the Australian Open semi-finals for a record 11th consecutive year, stretching back to 2004. The next best run was six successive appearances by Ivan Lendl between 1985 and 1991.
