Rob is awesome.
Congrats, Nerdy Wonka. You beat me!
And so is his SolarAmerica.org shirt! He totally looks like he’s from my hometown, Portland Oregon, rather than Portland Maine, but can anyone confirm that?

In a letter released by his lawyer, the official, David Wildstein, a high school friend of Mr. Christie’s who was appointed with the governor’s blessing at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the bridge, described the order to close the lanes as “the Christie administration’s order” and said “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference” three weeks ago.
“Mr. Wildstein contests the accuracy of various statements that the governor made about him and he can prove the inaccuracy of some,” the letter added.
And now it begins…. We knew that someone would talk. We just knew it…
As Rob was asking the question…..I was focusing on The POTUS and pres Obama was just smiling. That was awesome.
Last week, as the scandal inevitably known as Bridgegate bubbled away, Governor Chris Christie delivered his fourth annual State of the State address, in Trenton. It was, to paraphrase A. A. Milne, a Sad Christie, a Melancholy Christie, a Small and Sorry Christie who spoke to state lawmakers. The Republican governor, normally the King of I, was all about comity and collaboration. He alluded only briefly to the incident in Fort Lee, and only vaguely. “Mistakes were clearly made,” he said. The very next day, the Wall Street Journal published a photograph of Christie chatting with David Wildstein, the official at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who apparently ordered up the George Washington Bridge lane closings. The picture, taken mid-backlog, was plainly at odds with the Governor’s assertion that he and Wildstein had scarcely spoken in years. Meanwhile, the New Jersey Assembly and Senate, both controlled by Democrats, initiated a new round of investigations aimed at tying Christie even more directly to the tieup. It’s too early to say what these investigations will uncover; on Thursday, subpoenas were issued to seventeen people, including the Governor’s chief spokesman, his former campaign manager, and his chief counsel. Already, though, the scandal has done so much damage to the Christie administration and to every other organization it has touched that it almost doesn’t seem to matter.
Breaking : Bill Stepian will NOT comply with the subpoena and is taking the 5th.
I think A Clock Counting the number of Days before Christie resigns? Too soon? I hope not
Sounds like he knows a lot more than a 5th. I hope they all go to jail.
I don’t know if I am wishing that Ralph Cramden go to LOCK UP Raw or LOCK UP Indiana. But I am pleased that his big dreams of walking from NJ to 16 Pennsylvania Avenue are fading. What a bully! I said it repeatedly to my friends that he had to know something even if he didn’t personally order the closing of the lanes. He let it go because his handlers were doing for him what he wanted to do without expressed order.
Doesn’t want to incriminate himself – and/or others?
Hmm? Hmm? Hmm? Christie? What say You?
Nena, what say Corey Booker?
He sure looked stupid at the SOTU. Shaquille O’Neal has a movie theatre in Newark, NJ. I wondered why he was endorsing that thug. Now, we shall know what we shall know……
I am not sure that Sen Booker is involved here. O’Neal was in for Business. He would have to answer to his fans. Then Mayor Booker got some funding for school in Newark. I remember Christie was then at 32% approval and He went out to Chicago to appear on Oprah with Zuckerberg, Mayor Booker and a few others for $100M from the FaceBook Billionaire.
How soon will RGA have a Replacement?
Hey, hey, JoeScar, you buddy Christie is a ruthless liar just like you JScar.

I will NEVER forget how he hit the airwaves bashing President Obama after hugging the President after Sandy. He caved to his right wing fans, who placed him up on a pedestal, after they complained about him being chummy with the President. He hit the airwaves ripping into President Obama and the morning jokester loved it.
Well, President Obama didn’t have words for what the Christie had done. Being the class act that he is, he sat back, and watched his enemy become “his footstool (Psalm 23).” Sometimes you just don’t have to do anything………but : )

Drumthwacket is the official residence of the governor of New Jersey. The mansion is located at 354 Stockton Street in Princeton, Mercer County, New Jersey, United States, close to the state capital of Trenton. ..
Thanks for the explanation! I was trying to figure out what this meant…!

I've said from the start Christie could survive, so long as no smoking gun leads to him. This could be it:
nyti.ms/1a8j8nw— David Axelrod (@davidaxelrod) January 31, 2014
and here is what’s wrong with Democrats: there is no earthly reason why one of the most experienced Democratic operatives has to say , I always said Christie could survive this without a smoking gun….” In a tweet, David Axelrod!?!? Repibs would never utter such a frame in public. When will Dems ever learn?
I said the same thing, 57. Ducking and running.
Because there it is FayPax: David Axelrod should be fixing this stuff and not making it worse. let’s say this letter is a fizzle and there is no smoking gun. Every RWNJ will be saying, “David Axelrod says that CC is out of trouble. He’s survived it.” So unbelievably stupid, I am just furious.
They think the worst of their own and the best of the GOP thugs. There have been NO – NONE – NOT ANY – events in the many years of PBO in politics that the GOP and their bff the US Media could find to attack him in any way whatsoever – yet they try – again and again.
The dirty tricks by the GOP keep on coming – and the so called supporters of the President don’t want to talk about it – unless they have a photograph of the money changing hands. Under their rules no-one would ever be convicted of a crime. They see the smoking gun – and want to see the bullet.
Christie very nearly got away with this – he kept it quiet through an election – and it was a local paper that just kept digging – because the closure of the bridge lanes – was just weird. The political media, and many democrats – just buried their heads and gave 2017 to Christie the bully.
Take the long view. When David Axelrod tweeted this “I’ve said from the start Christie could survive, so long as no smoking gun leads to him.” He already knew there was a smoking gun. Very smart DA!!
So, Christie’s spurned consigliere is about to shove in the knife. Excellent. Never piss off the guy with the smoking gun.
In LL and missus news:
I have a 3 day weekend, because the schedules of me and my manager are completely insane next week.
The missus had two shifts cancelled on her last night, as both patients passed on within an hour of each other. However, she was called this morning, and the guy who runs the agency said he wanted to give her first choice of shifts. Yeah, my missus rocks.
LL, I finally got around to listening to the BBC post. I used to give Bolero as part of a wedding shower gift with a bottle of wine and a card to make the most of their wedding night. We had a great time with that gift. Mostly gave it to my cousins children as they got older and getting married. I posted that video on FB, just to see if Danny with make a comment. He blushed so hard when he got the gift. It was a good time for all, I never asked if they had a good time. (too personal) But love the music. watched all the clips. Thank you Thank you. Brought back some pleasant memories.
That performance of Bolero was amazing.

Is it bad that I am smiling? Can’t wait for RM tonight, however she might focus on XL pipeline.
I’m waiting to see what PBO says about XL. Until then, I’m not too concerned.
Regardless of the environment I cannot understand why the US needs to transport Canadian oil that is heading elsewhere – why doesn’t Canada build its own pipeline? Is this like the Alaskan debacle where they simply want US/State government money to do nothing?
Well the fact that the new report also says it will create a whopping FIFTY jobs in the US might be the real thing which drives a nail into the coffin.
The GOP will call that lies and misinformation – there are thousands of jobs to be had – just thousands – ask the WHPC – they know better than the state department
Oh gawd, I’m in twitter jail. Torture!

I heard somewhere today that Gulliani said that CC would suffer not one bit from this..all will be fine. Ok. Sure.
See LDS post upthread re: Gulliani….. LOL
Who would be the Gov if Christie resigns ?
I hope it would mean an election. Democrats would cruise to victory.
The Lt Gov who has issues too for Ms Zimmer has her Journals.
Lt. Gov., who’s a GOPer. What I don’t know is if an election would have to be held. Probably not until the next scheduled one in 2017.
She has her own investigation going on. She should resign because she lied too. I think the next person in line is the Speaker who is a DEM.
Only if the Lt Gov has to resign too. Then the leader of the GOP in the senate would take over until an election is held…… for the GOP leader is a minority leader.
When McGreevy(sp) resigned in the early 2004 or so, the senate Dem Leader took over for then, NJ had No Lt Gov. It was after that that the position was created. This current Lt Gov is the 1st elected Lt Gov.
The Lt Gov – the lady who passes on Christies messages to others – doubt she would last more than a week
The media has been covering this story timidly, the exception were a few at MSNBC. Now that the likes of Drudge has given up…..watch the media to explode on Christie. Hmm? Welcome to the Jungle, Mr. Christie.
Yep. Christie is now toxic for the GOP so they’ll destroy him as fast as possible. They’ll force him to resign ASAP.
One other reason this whole thing could go faster than we expected: with a quick Christie resignation, republicans hope to stop the numerous investigations into the activities of the party in New Jersey. The Lt Gov is in hot waters, as are many republican appointees.
I bet they hope that if the “big fish” Christie admits wrong doing and goes to jail, all the other investigations will go away. And/or the media won’t keep digging the dirt.
Let’s hope the local media in New Jersey, and that MSNBC and NYT keep doing their work. There’s a hell of a clean up to do in NJ politics.
I really, really wonder how Christie will react; he’s in a grieving process right now. He wanted the presidency so badly…
Your last sentence is HUGE. Anxiety can cause one with an over bloated ego to have a major health crisis.
Another who believes in the GOP right to rule. Christie should be worried about going to jail – that will be his worst nightmare
Songs that would go with this Christie BREAKING real Story:
Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance.

@Lib_Librarian @taiping2 Ha! there's this http://t.co/ubwGu38A1T— Jodzio Jonz (@Jodzio) January 31, 2014
It looks like some New Jersey Dems will go down with the Christie. Why did they vote for a man who cost the state an extra 12 million dollars for a “special election” , never made sense? I knew then that something was wrong when Dr. Detective R. Maddow was the only one complaining about this cost on the tax payers.
Something wasn’t smelling right, and I am incline to believe that some Dems have some DIRTY TAINTED hands in the cookie jar…….
I kinda hope Cory Booker gets tainted. He’s the last person I want to see run for president. I am sorry but NJ has some dishonest Dems and he sounds like one of them. He was just too chummy with CC.
Corey Booker: Were you in the cookie jar?
Some Dems took this to their Supreme Court and lost. Then they didn’t appeal it to the Fed Courts.
Cory Booker is dirty…that is why he has not said anything.
Possible. I’m with many here. I don’t like the guy. Too much of a big head. The kind of guy who’s ambitious but too much in a hurry, so he cuts corners, develops some questionable alliances.
Maybe I’m wrong and if so, I’m sorry. Time will tell.
“Cory Booker is dirty…that is why he has not said anything.”
Any concrete evidence to support this? I am sorry, but I am uncomfortable with the overblown blanket attacks on Sen. Corey Booker without any supporting evidence.
To be fair, some of the NJ Dems have been blackmailed. The hostages were not themselves but their constituents. The Christie administration is a mafia who rules by fear. I don’t deny that some democrats may have been in cahoots with big corporate interests, but in some cases I’m pretty sure this was about avoiding retribution from the bullies in Trenton.
Did Sen Booker ever speak out against that special election? Maybe he didn’t want to be in an election with Christie.
I heard Chrispy is going to Howard Sterns birthday party tonight…..he may have to cancel because Howard Stern might make fun of him.
Corey Booker is being awfully quiet. Hmmmmmm.
Yes as he should. Christie is imploding. No Need for sen Booker or any other Dem to speak. Menendez is not speaking and neither are many Dem in the state. They are letting the Investigations do their Talking for them.
Sen Booker has done little – if anything to support the President in DC – he should – at least – be talking of everything PBO has done for the people of NJ – rather than jumping into foreign affairs about which he seems to know very little.
The problem is that he withholds public information that he is legally required to reveal.
The arrogance is breathtaking. These guys seem to think the state government is their private play thing.
It’s not. It is owned by the people of the state, and there are laws about public disclosure of its workings.
Looks like it’s time to take your state back, NJ!
In his mind, he withholds public funding….What’s a little information?
Breathtaking arrogance seems like an understatement.
Jonathan Altar is a jerk-off. He’s telling Ed to be cautious when the letter is clear Wildstein has the goods on CC.
Ed is handling him pretty good.
He is definitely protecting Christie’s hands in this….Jonathan, did you get paid by Christie? Inquiring minds definitely wants to know.
He just said that we can’t forget that it was Wildstein that went to the bridge at 6 AM to make sure the lanes were closed.
We wouldn’t want Phil to have to apologize for NOTHING again! Stupid shits. Anyway…is Alter a journalist or a lawyer?
Jon Alter can be cautious that is what he is paid to do as a Journalist when all the facts are not in. I have no problem with. Ed Schultz doesn’t for he is a Pundit.
Once JAlter has all the goods and he is still as reported up thread, then may he be visited by Journalist Karma.
These days the line between journo and pundit is real slim to nonexistent. He’s not cautious when he wants to criticize PBO when all the facts are not in yet. He can mouth off with confidence then.
As they all do – with no facts whatsoever

A selfie of Governor Chris Christie taken earlier today: http://t.co/qix2XYEK93— Tony Snell Rodriguez (@TonyEquality) January 31, 2014
All we need to know about Alter:
Two months after the September 11 attacks, Alter wrote an article for Newsweek called “Time to think about torture” which became one of his best known[by whom?] articles. In the column, he suggested that the U.S. might need to “rethink … old assumptions about law enforcement”.
Stating that “some torture clearly works”, he suggested the nation should “keep an open mind about certain measures to fight terrorism, like court-sanctioned psychological interrogation”, and consider transferring some prisoners to other countries with less stringent rules on torture.
Alter lives in Montclair, New Jersey
KY Gov is saying that KY will hit 200K this weekend. YES
When you consider the track record of New Jersey Governors, Christie wouldn’t exactly be setting a precedent if he is indeed found to have been deceiving the public and committing abuses of power. What does bring a feeling of schadenfreude is that Christie has clearly been behind a propaganda campaign to portray himself as bipartisan when he has in fact been bullying Democrats to give into supporting him. He cultivated this phony image of himself as “a good guy” who likes to reach across the aisle and work with both parties…when he was in fact the opposite, someone who extorted and blackmailed politicians to get what he wanted.
One can only imagine how destructive a Christie presidency could have been. And the key words are “could have been” because once the rats start turning on the biggest rat…that’s the end of the biggest rat.
I think it highlights the fact that PBO would never, and has never done anything like this. He truly thinks negotiating with people – without either side having to be bribed, or give bribes – is the true way to bipartisanship. He has been attacked for not “being out and about” with republicans – who would have LOVED to have something to hang on him

Nena, a jungle he created and thought he was Tarzan( even though can’t imagine him swinging on any vine).
The point is he was manipulating and using people just because he could. It would not surprise me at all that Kelly woman thought she was his Jane. As much “power” that he thought he had someone had to be pumping his huge ego( no pun intended here). I just can’t stand to see another wife “stand by her man” as he falls from grace. I am not saying not to support him. But I personally would not be there on camera.
Let’s see how this plays out. The bigger they are, the harder they fall( pun definitely intended)
So glad this pompous arrogant prideful man’s evil character is being unveiled before he got to the WH gate. A Bully like him will cry like a baby when he falls from grace(remember I am not a crook) and I am not in the forgiving mood right now after all the people who are still hurting from Sandy and flashbacks of being stuck for hours on the GWB. You have to live in NYC to understand this and an AA to be subjected to the racist NJ police officer and state troopers. All who voted for this pathetic man including some chicken shit Dems.
Send them all to the Big House. Let them write their books(after the fact). Box office movies followed by Broadway hits.
Maybe then just maybe GOP will humble themselves and join the rest of us moving this country ahead.
I doubt that as long as the KKKoch bros. have money to spare.
