I am bringing this video over from Rise and Shine. Just to be sure you all see this is about the ACA and getting everyone covered.
On January 29, NFL player and Super Bowl veteran Donte Stallworth along with more than 50 dancers from Pace University gathered in Central Park for a flash mob designed to educate around the Affordable Care Act. All of the young dancers participated in the flash mob because they support the Affordable Care Act and many of them personally have or will benefit from the Affordable Care Act. In partnership with Generation Progress, the flash mob was designed to help educate others about how the law will benefit them.

Somebody super pissed that the Party has been abruptly cancelled…

      http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/bust-takes-operators-multimillion-dollar-drug-prostitution-ring-article-1.1596332

One-stop shopping’ drug and prostitution ring, Asian Wave Escorts, busted ahead of Super Bowl

A sophisticated Manhattan-based prostitution ring that offered “one-stop shopping” and delivered both drugs and debauchery was sacked just days before the Super Bowl.

“Always a treat and always fast to your door,” Asian Wave Escorts promised in sexy come-ons broadcast on public access TV, sources said.
The ring was headed by a middle-aged madam named Hyun Ok Yoonung, a 41-year-old Korean immigrant who officials said is something of a legend in the flesh-peddling business.
“She was really the leader,” Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Thursday. “This is someone we’ve heard of from other criminals, really sort of admiring the scope of her enterprise. She’s well known in this industry.”

Wish they could get the people who purchase the services offered by the “on-stop shopping”. Disgusting that a market for such even exists.

A Prayer for GoBrooklyn and No Child Left Behind

    Dear Lord,

You know GoBrooklyn and No Child Left Behind so much better than I do. You know each of their challenges (sickness) and the burdens they carry. You also know their heart. Lord, I ask you to be with GoBrooklyn and No Child Left Behind “now” as you work miracles in their life during their time of challenges. Lord, let your will be done in their lives.

Lord, I pray for GoBrooklyn and No Child Left Behind just as your Word tells me to pray, for healing. I believe you hear this earnest prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you, Lord, to heal GoBrooklyn and No Child Left Behind, but I also trust in the plans you have for them.

Lord, I don’t always understand your ways. I don’t know why they have to suffer, but I trust you. I ask that you look with mercy and grace toward them. Nourish their spirit and soul in this time of challenges and comfort them with your presence.

Let GoBrooklyn and No Child Left Behind know that you are there with them through their difficulty. Give them strength as you touch and heal their pain. And may you, through their difficulty, be glorified in GoBrooklyn’s life and No Child Left Behind life and also in mine.

    Amen.

********To all of the TOD family members who are challenged; sickness, colds, flu, family matters, finances, etc.
My prayer for all; may you be healed, and blessed indeed.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend everyone!!!

    Warmest Blessings,
    Cindy

Yes, she was. It feels good to have people asking sane questions in a calm manner, and to see PBO responding intelligently, as was his wont.

I still don’t understand why the state dept. has the main say on an oil pipeline. I am adamantly opposed—–for obvious environmental issues, which seems to me we already have a full plate trying to deal with all the damage already done without inviting more problems into our midst. And—-don’t the horrible, damaging Koch Bros. stand to greatly profit from this. And—also bothersome—I’m not sure about present state dept. personnel, but I believe I remember info that many connected to Hillary’s state dept. were invested financially in the pipeline——including Hillary and Susan Rice. I bet that’s why Al Gore was at Obama’s Tn. appearance yesterday, to make a final plea.

        Thanks, GGail.

I always feel weird when detractors and supporters alike address President Obama as “Obama.” He’s a two-term African-American President with the highest reelection percentage of any Democratic President since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and that in of itself is a huge historic accomplishment. He’s not some buddy or lackey down the street. He has earned the right to be addressed as President Obama.

When the full President Obama can’t be used in a tweet because of the 140 character limit, I make sure to use Pres. Obama, PBO, or POTUS. Easy peasy. :D

    Good Afternoon TODVille.

Cindy, Chipsticks, Bobfr, Edp4bho, and all those that expressed concerns and offered their prayers on my behalf and on that of GoBrooklyn, many thanks.

I hope GoBrooklyn will receive better news and that her body will heal. Miracles do happen. I consider my state of affair simply a miracle. Fighting since last April when I became suddenly ill and unable to walk, I can report to you that I am doing very well after my bone marrow transplant. I am still recovering and gaining strength day by day. Throughout the ordeal (I had no clue what multiple myeloma meant even 2 weeks after I was told!!!), I remained positive, trying to maintain the same level of engagement in everything I loved. And lurking on this site is something I’ve done faithfully even from my hospital bed. I don’t write often, but I do read and appreciate the wit and knowledge of so many here. The posts have been so informative.

I am very grateful to Chipsticks and wonder often how she manages without asking for funding from all of us, the happy beneficiaries of the site. I would certainly chip in because this site is the only one besides WH.gov that I consult.

    Stay well everyone.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada has cleared a significant hurdle after the State Department raised no major environmental objections to its construction.

The department’s report was released Friday. It says Canadian tar sands are likely to be developed regardless of U.S. action on the pipeline and other options to get the oil from western Canada to Texas Gulf Coast refineries are worse for the environment.

The latest environmental review stops short of recommending approval of the project.

But the report gives the Obama administration political cover if it chooses to endorse the pipeline in spite of opposition from many Democrats and environmental groups. State Department approval of the project is needed because it crosses a U.S. border. A decision is not expected before the summer.

    • 98 Vicki
      January 31, 2014 at 3:36 pm

This is certainly not the report most of us wanted to hear, but it is not a decision, just a report.
I am going to try to keep my cool and see what POTUS does. Not what RW says he will do. What actually happens.

The threat from Canada is that one way or another they will access the tar sands. Either we get to refine the oil or China does.
Canada has NOT said that the USA will get to buy any of the refined oil so I don’t understand what the threat is. Except the obvious that along the way US money interests will get to enrich themselves.
They get to enrich themselves and we get risk.
Large expanses of our country will have even more hazardous materials one leak away from fire and water loss. Oy vey—-too much for me.

If the Keystone Pipeline gets approval, it’s going to set off a huge firestorm, and not just from rabid environmentalists either, although they will be front and center. Has lots of political consequences—–especially when we need a huge turnout for the midterms —–so we don’t end up in unimaginable circumstances with Repubs controlling the entire congress.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/01/nyregion/christie-bridge.html?_r=0

In a letter released by his lawyer, the official, David Wildstein, a high school friend of Mr. Christie’s who was appointed with the governor’s blessing at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which controls the bridge, described the order to close the lanes as “the Christie administration’s order” and said “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference” three weeks ago.

“Mr. Wildstein contests the accuracy of various statements that the governor made about him and he can prove the inaccuracy of some,” the letter added.
