Congrats MightyP! My nephew in Seattle, a vocal member of the “12th man,” is totally besides himself. What an impressive win.

Beautiful green, blue and gold fireworks from the top of the Space Needle – which is lit by green lights at the top. People are in the streets all over the city – partying!!! So much fun :)

Lots of whooping and hurrahing from my windows, didn’t see the space needle but the fireworks over the lake were lovely! Really popping all colors! It’s fun to hear everyone out there celebrating!!

Congrats Bobfr! I was rooting for Seattle. I think my nephew is one of those people in the streets celebrating. I am so glad your team defied the pundits who were underestimating it.

My youngest brother lives in Seattle. He headed for downtown early today. When it was obvious Seattle would win the SB, I tried calling him, but he didn’t answer his phone. Now I know why–the fireworks and the partying in the streets! I am so glad Seattle won!

This guy Russell Wilson played at North Carolina State for several years, he also played baseball. But the State team wanted him to quit baseball and focus on football. So Wilson went to Wisconsin and played for a year.

Hay Denver fans, if there is any here, I’m kind of sorry they lost. At least they made it to the Super Bowl.

  10. February 2, 2014 at 10:16 pm

Who won the MVP of the game?

  11. February 2, 2014 at 10:19 pm

Did I miss Manning congratulate Wilson? Sure didn’t see it…

Just a little diversion from Seattle celebration–here’s a little test to determine which president you are most like. Husband was most like President Obama and for some reason I came out as Thomas Jefferson. Who knew?

The tower on the newly built World Trade Center building is lit now in Seahawk aqua. For the last few days the lighting was orange and bluegreen alternating.

Lovely view from my kitchen window.

Heartily concur with your tweet and remarks upthread about convergence. Many good things happened today.
Not he least of which was our President pointing out repeatedly that Americans believed some really dumb s–t because that was what Fox has been feeding them
And, by the way, private ACA up to 3 million now Medicaid 6 million and kids on their parents plans another 3 million. Billo not entertained by those numbers at all.

That was one of the coolest slams to the Fox propagandists, ever, Vicki!!

The continents are North America and South America, and the languages spoken on those two continents are English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Viet Namese, Yiddish, Norwegian, Cajun, many creoles, Arabic, many more…….we speak all languages on these two continents. The major language of the United States of America…….just one country in the Americas…..is English…..that is the name of the language, whether those people like it or not. The language name is English, not American…..that ignorance chaps me!!!

I have a Canadian friend who gets very upset when U.S. citizens feel they are the only ones who can be called Americans. Canadians speak the same language we do, except in Quebec, and that language is English, not American.

If you add up the speakers of languages other than English on the two continents, I think English is NOT the majority language in America.

True, true. And if a RWNJ is asking someone to speak American then here in the US it would be asking them to speak whatever Native American tribe language existed. Not that foreign English language brought over here a few hundred years ago.

I am glad the media, newstainers, and pundits did not make an issue that one QB is white more experienced and the other is AA and a novice. I guess they did that once and wound up having egg all over their faces.
