    meta, i just watched the schumer clip.
    I agree with you—WTF!!!

    • February 9, 2014 at 1:55 pm

      Just absolutely INFURIATING that he goes on national TV and spouts that crap. This Congress is getting on my last nerve.

        Sen. Schumer would probably defend himself by saying that he wanted to take away the POTUS excuse the GOP is offering up.
        You know, show them for what they are. Racists who don’t want more brown-skinned voters.

        I think your 3 points are a lot closer to the mark.

        The NY Senators seem to be vying for camera time lately. Recently their AIPAC stance pissed me off. President Obama demolished that nonsense. Now this manoeuver by Chuck S.
        Not to mention Sen. Gillibrand’s renewed battle with Claire McCaskill. Sen Gillibrand’s position is much better than Claire’s but what is going on? Claire has announced for Hillary.

        Chuck for Hillary? Kirsten G. not? I have no idea—-and these are MY senators.

        • February 9, 2014 at 2:20 pm

          I think Kristin G considers Hillary Clinton her mentor, so I don’t think there’s much guessing to do.

        • February 9, 2014 at 3:10 pm

          I think he is playing poker, “Ok, let’s take that excuse off the table; now what’s your next lame excuse?” I think it is a pretty good play; although exceptionally annoying.

            I agree. This idea takes “It’s Obama’s fault” off the table. It looks disloyal; but, it could be a good strategy. He basically took PBO out of the Republican equation. You know they can’t be seen working with or doing anything that might make the President look good.

      At least Schumer has outed himself early. He won’t verbally support President Obama, in favor of his New York buddies, the Clintons. We see you, pr*ck.

    I’ve been thinking about a petition that starts with “We, the Obama Coalition” and goes on to say, shortly and simply, that if candidates want our heart, our money, and our boots on the ground, they should be supporting PBO now, and that we’re watching every move. And have no interest in hearing a word about 2016 until after we see how they come through in 2014. I have no idea how to get something like that started, or how to keep it going. We can’t let it fizzle, because then it will seem like there’s only a few of us, so we’d need a committed effort. Any ideas?

    As always, many thanks to the mighty Chips and NW for this great community. I can’t imagine dealing with this insane world without this site!

    • February 9, 2014 at 2:52 pm

      Brace yourselves. A book with a positive spin on Hillary Clinton is coming out next week. It’s written by Jonathan Allen (formerly,Politico) and Amie Parnes (The Hill). Go figure.

      I will definitely sign your petition. Perhaps the Whitehouse petition site? I don’t know. because OFA can’t do any political stuff, because
      of the 501K? status.

        I love this PBO vid so hard because back in the civil rights days we didn’t have time for moaning and groaning. No matter how many times they knocked us down with a fire hose or set dogs on us, we had to get up and keep marchin’ until it’s done. And y’all it ain’t done. We need to MARCH, REGISTER the unregistered, and VOTE in numbers like never before, cuz seriously the KKKGOP is trying to kill us.

    Chuck Schumer may aggravate us, but he will never be anything what he is and Barack Obama is President of the United States–twice elected. Hillary Clinton may or may not rise to that position, but Barack Obama has and he will always be remembered as one of the greatest presidents in the last hundred years. Schumer may have caused a few smiles and happy faces on the right side of the political spectrum, but he did nothing for Hillary today and marked himself as an rather ugly back stabber. Come on, New York. You can do better than this.

    I loooooooooooved the determination and diversity of yesterday’s NC’s Moral March!!!

    Imagine what could happen if all of the different groups who care for equality and socio-economic justice for ALL were able to organize such events in our areas!

    I wish all gop-targeted groups realize that we have a common enemy – shadowy money and conscience-deprived greedy
    capitalists (excluding the socio-economically conscious companies);

    the rights of so many are being destroyed by the republicans with policies sponsored by ALEC, Koch brothers and other huge corporations;

    Anybody care to speculate what would happen if President Obama announced that in the spirit of Ronald Reagan he was signing an Executive Order giving amnesty to all immigrants who had arrived before the year 2010 and a pathway to citizenship to everyone else? That would jam them all. Congress would need a 2/3 vote to overturn it…could they?

    Not to be commercial-ish, but just a tip for anyone looking to entertain small kids/grandkids—-all my fam with little kids are raving about The Lego Movie, calling it “quality entertainment” for kids and parents. And conservatives are crabbing about it, so another good reason to recommend—–maybe because one of the songs is “Everything is Awesome” when we work together—-which they likely consider an evil message. My 4 yr. old grandson yelled that it was AWESOME!— in my ear—-so I believe him, loud and clear.
