    Just watched the coverage from last night. I still get goose bumps when I hear people say the love our President.

    Good morning everyone. USA beat Russia in Men’s hockey. Great game ended 3-2 in a shootout, I believe that went 8 innings. This is just in the round robin.

    Love watching the video, Willie should be part of the TOD family. Have a great day everyone. Off to the swimming pool.

      Is this another medal for the U.S.? I’m sure this made Putin feel good, who cares. Go U.S.A.

    A fire has broken out at the National Archives in Kew, home to some of the UK’s most important historical documents.

    Some 20 firefighters are tackling the blaze, which is affecting two disused water towers at the site in Richmond, south-west London.

    London Fire Brigade, which was called out at about 12:30 GMT, said the blaze was now under control.

    The National Archives is the official UK government archive and publisher.

    Held there are 11 million historical documents of national importance, some dating back more than 1,000 years.

    Among its collection are the Domesday Book, parchment, electronic records, photographs, posters, maps and paintings.

      Oh No – that’s devastating – but then I read “Clive Robinson from the London Fire Brigade told BBC News the fire had no impact on the main National Archives building”

      I’ve been to the archives – when it was called the Public Records Office – over the years more & more data is stored there. I guess it is good to realize that the data stored – where possible – is slowly being digitized – so although originals might get lost – the information is still available

      I may start watching this show. My sister raves about it – which gives me pause because her taste in movies and shows are quite different.
      Today may be a good one to start. I might watch the first couple of episodes and see if it grabs me. I want to have a lazy, relaxing weekend for a change.

    Oh while POTUS is in California for the week-end, he will be golfing and having some relaxing time, I see where FLOTUS, Malia and Sasha is in Aspen for their week-end, maybe doing alittle skiing. Oh I know the haters are going to have something to say about that. But I say who gives a dam, regardless what this family do they have alot of ugly things to say anyway, so to the Obamas enjoy yourself.

    No April it seem your black son can’t wear a hoodie, listen to loud music, or stood and ask for help or direction, without putting some white people in fear. I am starting to worry that some on that jury in Jacksonville is believing Michael Dunn lies.

    I just hope the jury gets it right this time. What message will it send if you can shoot into an unarmed car full of Black people because you don’t like their music, kill a child, go home, order Pizza, relax, then claim you felt threatened and then get off free?

    Was that wikipedia comment supposed to be funny? I thought that with the fall of the Soviet Union we had left behind the juvenile chest-bumped during the Olympics. So one bunch of professional athletes defeats another. It has been so nice watching the Olympics these last years without each medal representing a “victory” of Democracy vs Totalitarianism. I haven’t been following the comments or reactions so if I’m misinterpreting I apologize but this just reminds me of things that used to irritate the heck out of me.

      I highlighted that tweet to underline the range of reactions from the people who watched the match;

      don’t know if you did but putin’s presence in the audience, the fact that the game was very close, and the undercurrent prior to the match have created an atmosphere where people watch the game through different lenses – geo-politics has been one such lens for some;

      wish geo-politics did not come into play at all but every so often it does – sorry that your are offended

      Putie Putin said that Russian Hockey win will be icing on the cake. He showed up. US won.

      Not juvenile. I am proud for T.J. Oshie, even the WH congratulated him. POTUS is happy and so ‘am I.

      • February 15, 2014 at 3:34 pm

        I’m certainly glad for the winning team players as well. It is a great accomplishment and has nothing to do with whether Putin attended or not. I would expect the White House to congratulate all winning Olympic athletes without regard to who their competitors were. This is disappointing: Putin wants to make it about politics and we descend to his level. It’s a shame that Putin was able to make this about more than just great hockey.

    Murdering people over trivial matters – this has to stop!!!!!!

    My thoughts are with the family of Mr. Jordan Davis – lost too young over nonsense;

    From what I have learned, this is a murderous act committed by an armed older man who did not see the humanity of those teenagers and who was not haunted after his coldblooded actions;

    Would this murderer have shot these teenagers if they were kids that looked like what he thinks his community should look like?

    I hope the jury at Dunn Trial does not mess this one up;

    but many deaths could have been avoided if not for these stand your ground laws;

    some thoughts of people about this;
