          Good Morning Cindy. Thanks for your prayers. I am making progress. After 11 months, I was able to return to work this week. I’ll work 3 days at the office and 2 at home. It is a long journey but I vow to remain positive. Multiple myeloma is no joke. Thank again for your concerns. Have a great day as well!

            Fantastic news, NCLB. So happy to see you’re easing back into a normal routine. Good luck going back to work. The first day back after a long time off is like the first day of school. But you’ll soon get right back into the swing of things.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Decided to get to the store early before the crowds. Now making some fab chiles rellenos at cass de Mela :)

    Good morning all. I’ve been trying to get information on the MAL flight this morning and all I found out was that a search plane had discovered two oil slicks that may indicate the plane crashed. No mention of where the slicks were and how that could happen. The families of those on board must be both terrified and angry. What an unimaginable nightmare. Hope everyone is feeling a little warmer today. Our forecast has several days of warmish temperatures and I’ve started to see grass. Maybe I’ll see a crocus today–always a sign of hope and good cheer. Have a great day!

      Good Morning Jackie, That is such a sad story. I feel for the families waiting for any news, but I feel more for the people on the flight who might not have a chance. Hope there are survivors, as unlikely as that may be.

      March 8, 2014 at 8:25 am

      G’morning Jackie – I’m so sorry to hear of the disappearance of that airplane; it’s a horrible tragedy and the families deserve answers. I wish them all the support and comfort and healing they can possibly get in the coming weeks/months.

      On another note, the East Coast temps are nicer this weekend, but alas, there’s another potentially big snow storm brewing for mid-week next week. I honestly can’t take more snow – my sanity is being tested here!

      • 23 jackiegrumbacher
        March 8, 2014 at 8:54 am

        Hf, take comfort in the fact that forecasts are often wrong. Last week we were told that a big storm was on the way and it never came. And we’re reaching the time of year when the snows will melt faster if they do come. Daylight Savings Time means longer days and more sunshine. Hang in–it’s almost over.

    Someone may have already posted it on TOD yesterday but did anyone see that tweet from Arianna Grande’s husband? For those who do not know, Arianna Grande was the young lady who sang Whitney Houston’s “I have Nothing” and another song at the WH “Women of Soul” concert Thursday night.

    • 26 hopefruit2
      March 8, 2014 at 8:09 am

      LOL – this comment a clear sign that my morning coffee hasn’t kicked in. I spelled her name with two n’s (it’s one), and I referred to her brother as her husband!

      Anyway, while Ms. Grande seemed very excited to perform, her brother seemed even more excited than her. I’m just posting a few of his tweets about the event :)

      congratulations that your son had this one-in-a-lifetime moment with POTUS & FLOTUS!

      hope the AP has been altered to this typo in his name so it can correct it – this is now part of the nation’s history and your son deserves his info correctly represented

      I noticed that they also spelled Michelle’s name wrong in the headline….no spell checkers for AP anymore?? Shame on them.

    This is HILARIOUS!!! Patrick Stewart satirizes the fake Obamacare “victims” on Stephen Colbert

    // English actor Patrick Stewart appeared on The Colbert Report Monday to lampoon the ongoing series of fake Obamacare horror stories. Stewart plays “actual Louisiana resident” Chuck Duprey, an “average American Joe” and “supposed non-actor.” When howling about his health insurance woes, he says that his problems are “ALL BECAUSE OF THE AFFORDABLE CARE…line?” //

      Michael Steele and Bobby Jindal are under the same delusional thinking that if they attack President Obama enough the GOP might give them the time of day. Steele raised more money than any past Republican National Committee President and they still humiliated him by kicking his ass to the curb, and he still goes about carrying their water.

    • 57 anniebella
      March 8, 2014 at 10:42 am

      How many more years will Bobby Jindal be Governor of Louisiana? He won’t ever be President so he can rule that out. Makes no difference how much he attack President Obama.

    Jon Stewart loves to pretend that it’s just FOX News acting in this manner, but if I recall correctly, the entire media spectrum (including some well-known “LIberal” outfits) were carrying on just the same. The initial picture comparing PBO on a bike to shirtless Putin on horseback was NOT sent out by FOX News.

    Every time the ENTIRE media comes out looking stupid for doing something where PBO is concerned,Jon Stewart tries to deflect it away and put it on FOX – I’ve noticed this pattern for some time. Stewart needs to spend less time “ripping FOX News” well after the facts are known, and more time presenting the facts while the rest of the media is burying/distorting them.

    • 61 jackiegrumbacher
      March 8, 2014 at 9:17 am

      HF, Stewart will only do what’s best and profitable for himself. Slamming any other outlet besides FOX might get him in hot water, so he won’t go there. I long ago stopped watching his show. He disrespects our president and that puts him in the ‘go to hell’ category in my book.

      • 62 hopefruit2
        March 8, 2014 at 9:33 am

        Yes, there’s a certain cowardice in his whole approach to PBO – which I have not witnessed with other comedians like Colbert, Ellen or Jimmy Fallon. These last three have never been disrespectful or snide towards our President, and have always been extremely & unequivocally supportive of the President and/or FLOTUS’ initiatives.

      March 8, 2014 at 9:25 am

      MSM are all in this. You are right. It is not just Fox. Witness that blogger trying to make an issue out of PBO being in jeans in the Oval office talking to Putin. It was so delicious to see the push back he got from that nonsense.

      Then there was Andrea Mitchell a while back on the Optics of PBO going to play golf, yet she was quick to excuse McCain for playing on his phone during an important Senate floor debate. Lots of these folks in the MSM no different than the GOPTea.

      You hit a hole in one with this one, hf.
      “after the facts are known”
      Stewart and some politicians we know weigh in only after they are certain their opinions or votes do not count. USELESS.

    a faction of the Russian population and leadership are determined bring about even more bloodshed by engaging in aggressive behavior towards many people in their neighborhood ;

    glad to see that cooler heads are denying this faction of Russians their thirst for a justification of additional bloodshed;

    when the history of this period of Russian aggression is documented, I hope patience and restraint (from PBO, Ukraine, Europe, other former members of USSR etc.,) will be given their due praise as a contribution to avoiding more violence;

      If putin is dreaming of bringing back the iron curtain, he is in for a rude shock from russia’s former ‘allies’. Poles, Czechs, Georgians, Ukrainians, Romanians, they all hate the russians.

    a year or so ago, earthquakes in a region of Ohio which has huge fraking activities got the attention of the gop state legislature and governor.

    the outrage from concerned residents of the area made the legislature pay attention and try to put in place some disclosure rules and some restrictions;

      In 2009 at D’Kos, I had made a comment saying that Fracking and Nuclear tests underneath the ground could be contributing to earthquakes. I was mocked and severely. Now there is some scientific data now to the Fracking……..Hmm?

    Luigi Maraldi, 37, from Cesena, was named as one of the travellers on board flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

    But Italian sources have confirmed he is alive and well and has spoken to his worried parents from Thailand.”

      Just so We let CBS know that Bob S played gulf with GW Bush and his brother was and still is a known GOPer. BobS needs to answer whether he booked Sen Kerry or better yet former VP Gore when Putin invaded Georgia in 2008? If the answers are No…..then what BobS is doing is not only wrong, but a total butt-kissing for the GOP.
