MoooOOOooorning Early Birds – Happy Sunday!
Happy day, TOD. :)
Moooooooooorning tnmtngirl, happy Sunday!
waving from nairobi aeroporto.
Home in 18 hours.
Waving back – safe journey Mister, Wifey Unit’s peace will be destroyed in 18 hours.
Lotsa peace offerings en route.
You owe me gazillions.
Did you buy us anything nice?
Lotas love from bert sert land.
What more could you want?
Something tangible, like, I dunno, Kenyan cheesy puffs?
Aren’t you on yoga?
Not yet, but any day now.
You can’t rush in to these things, I have to be psychologically prepared. Even for a finely tuned athlete like me, yoga is a leap.
Does aging beauty taste as good as aging wine?
/ducks and runs like hell to the departure gate
May you end up beside a Teabagger on the flight.
Middle row. No seats on either side. Only aisles. Ha, Ha.
Good move by the airline, they didn’t want any of their passengers subjected to wimmin jokes all through the flight. Safe journey Mister!
Also. Too. What makes you think I didn’t bug her long distance?
 I’m certain you did, but at least she could switch you off if she wanted, in 18 hours that option is wiped out.
Safe journey amk
I thought I was late – glad you got the message
(Sometimes I wish I could use the word glad without thinking about my mother taking me to see Pollyanna when I was maybe 9 years old – movie theater was booked out for weeks – we ended up sitting on the stairs – mother was not happy)
Safe travels AMK. Happy Sunday and a successful week is wished for GoB be strong we are praying for you.
Thx anjo. Back home after 6 weeks.

Gooooooood Morning again …Ms Chipssssss and all in TOD village,….
it take a village to bring about change…
Morning everyone:) Cat woke me up scratching on my bedroom door…are they kidding?? The house wasn’t on fire, there was no invasion of critters….WTH! Kitty being hungry is NOT a reason to wake me early on Sunday morning…..where did I put that training manual….
Anyway. I up now! Beautiful pic of Michelle and her mom:) Just lovely.
amk…safe flight home. I’d pay to have hubby gone for 6 weeks of peace and quiet:) (Is that bad to say?…been married to the same guy for 33 years, I think I can say that:)
 Does Mr Desert Flower read TOD??
HAHAHAHA! Silly woman! Do you think I have a death wish?! :) No…he doesn’t read TOD….
I’d give anything for a comment from Mr Desert Flower to pop up: “Yes I do read TOD actually, my beloved.”
:) Dream on! Ain’t gonna happen, but that WOULD be funny:) Besides, I’m very honest with him about his time to be out of the house….that’s precisely the reason we HAVE been married so long, my dear:) Always wonderful when he comes home though….
Well, 33 years, you two must be rather fond of each other!
Whatever we have may not be “conventional” but it works for us….I make no bones about the fact that I like my time alone and he needs to go somewhere…luckily, he travels for work and it works out for us….don’t forget that he retired from the Navy…our life together was never normal from the git go. I can do everything on my own and I’m secure and strong in my skin…I say we compliment each other, not complete each other….that, and he makes me laugh….bottom line, that’s a big one:)
Ah, I’d forgotten he was in the Navy DF, I’m sure you mentioned that before – well, that guaranteed an unconventional life!
:) It sure did! How’s that Nazi flower pot eater of yours this morning?
Just like my marriage and were going strong at 30 yrs😃🍷🍷.
Loveeeeeee that photo of the Flotus and her Mom
Love it too Prettyfoot, absolutely beautiful!
Have I said how much I admire and LOVE FLOTUS….yeah…I know I have…I just wanted to say it again…smilin
Just gorgeous – I came online to that picture and so wished my Mom was still here so we could have such a hug.
I know that she knows,,,99…(hugs) to you
ty prettyfoot – I had her for many many years, so was blessed – always said my problems all evolved because I had such a happy childhood :) – and once I was grown, in her eyes – I could do no wrong. Not many folks ever think of you in that way. She was the rock that held our family together – despite she had a few of her own issues with living.
But enough of me – that is a wonderful photo – I’m sure they both take the stress off each other, being together in the white house.
I understand and I agree..
This was NOT the intent of the Founding Fathers when they enshrined Freedom of the Press in the 1st Amendment! http://t.co/ML2whG1qte— Pretty Foot (@PrettyFootWoman) March 09, 2014
Spandan talked about the pivotal role of the Press….why it was enshrined in the Constitution and how it is not living up to its scared mission..
The Founders invested the most power to hold the government accountable in the fourth estate – the press. They did not, however, imagine the press to be an instrument of ideology. A free press is, in its reporting, free from legal restraint, from business interests, and most importantly, free from ideological agenda.
The American Right was the first to abuse the necessary nature of the press being free from government regulations to undermine its freedom from ideological agenda-driven reporting. After the Right’s success, the Left swept in to fill the void – creating more “press” with ideological agenda, albeit a different ideology. As the Right wing press moved to attack government for its legitimate functions of taxation, social spending, and business regulations, the Left wing press took up the cause of attacking the government over other legitimate functions, most notably national security and law enforcement….
I would add…as a person of color….I have always found the press to have bias towards the African American Community….however…I can also say that it was wrenching images that were broadcast on TV and pictures in the newspapers of the civil rights movement that told a story to America….that would not have been seen otherwise,,,
Pf, I believe, sadly, that the US press is dead. It simply no longer exists in the manner in which we’ve traditionally known it, which is why it’s often referred to as legacy media. What has substituted for it is social media and the free exchange of ideas on the internet. It’s imperfect, often biased, and is not always fact-based, but it’s what we’re going to have for the foreseeable future. The generation born after 1980 don’t watch traditional media, nor do I, although I was born a whole lot of decades before 1980. Cokie Roberts once let slip that the DC media resented our president because he seemed to regard all of them as ‘has beens’ from another era. The president is right and it’s why he’s despised and continually attacked by the Washington press.
Goooood Morning Jackie….how are you today…
I do agree with you about the state of the Press…however therestill are small pocked of the Press…that do try to be JOE Friday…Just the Facts, man….but news has become entertainment and opinion driven….
although the internet can blunt that…it is our organizing on the ground that …one to one…neighbor to neighbor interaction that will have a great effect as well…this is how ObamaCare…aka the ACA was able to break thru the junk that was being driven by the corporate media…
but not all DEMS want to be grass roots and organize from the ground up…they are still mired in top down big party boss politics…like here in PA…
He sees them for what they are jackie – pundits who will find anything, regardless of the truth, to hold against him. When these so called scandals erupted around him – Benghazi, IRS, that was the end for me with the press. They want to be the news – they don’t want to report truth.
The DC press is irrelevant not because they’re from “another era”. They’re irrelevant because they don’t do REAL journalism. And the President is very well aware of that. So he doesn’t have a lot of respect for them. Strangely, while the president is so diplomatic with everyone, he seems unable to hide his contempt for the DC press. I understand his sentiment and admire his honesty, but there’s no doubt his evident contempt for the Villagers has created a backlash: when the president wants to get his message out, it’s at least twice as difficult because the press doesn’t help him. At all.
As for the young generation, it’s true that they go on the Internet because they find it more convenient. But mainstream news organizations are all on the Internet now so the young generation is an available audience anyway.
The problem is not Internet. The problem is that the traditional press in the USA, at least on the national level, is absolutely PATHETIC. In other countries, the mainstream press is alive and well, does a pretty good job. Canada, France are two examples.
In the USA, the national press has completely abdicated its role of truth checker. So it’s no surprise that people are completely confused when they vote. I would be curious to see if there is another country in the West where the disconnect between what policies people want and what politicians they elect is as BIG as in the USA. I doubt it.
Of course, there is also the problem of Fox News and talk radio. A real propaganda machine who has brainwashed a part of the population. Reminiscent of the Brown Shirts in the 30s in Germany. In the beginning of the 21st century, that propaganda of resentment and hate is much more powerful in the USA than in other countries in the West. It has done a lot of damage.
G’morning Chips and TOD!
@nycjim @Wary12 In other words, "anti-Obama unity" driven by racism is NOT a plan.— (@aspirational12) March 09, 2014
Morning Chips. Loved your conversation with amk.
He’s a rascal Vetivera!
GM HF…what is not stated…it was NEVER about a plan to unite the GOP…it was a plan to keep the so-called GOP base unified against the Obama Coalition… and the President…
CPAC is nothing but a KKK rally, that is what the Republican Party have become, nothing but racists.

They might have already done so, Putin might was at CPAC or somewhere with the Koch Brothers, McCain.

Good morning all.
Lovely pic of Mrs. O and Mrs. R. What a tremendous source of pride they are to each other and roll models for the world.
g’nite all – enjoy your Sunday
Night Rita, sleep well!
Either they have no shame or it’s just so matter of course they think nothing of it. Either way, she and all the others like her…NEED TO GO!
Good morning….it’s a lovely spring morning where I am…..I can hear birds chirping! But, with spring, comes the dread of tornadoes here in tornado alley. The Sunday paper was filled with tornado news, and weather news, and how last year’s big one changed weather forecasting here. We will enjoy today…….church, lunch with daughter and son-in-law and family, then home to walk the dog and get ready for this week’s classes.
What is the latest on Malaysian Flight 370? The more I read, the stranger it becomes. Looking at the map, seems there are many places that plane could have gone out of radar scope.
So glad the President is meeting with the Ukrainian P M Wednesday. His instincts are impeccable.
@markknoller Good for him!— (@aspirational12) March 09, 2014
Knoller NEVER tweeted about the jobs report on Friday, because there was no way to spin the good news – but he’s all over PBO’s Key Largo visit.
Well I’m sorry POTUS, FLOTUS, and the family doesn’t have a few extra days in Key Largo.
He’s kinda snarky in almost all his tweets—–even football games that go long and cut into 60 Minutes start time, which really drives him nuts—–so I am never too bothered with his tone. (or I’ve become immune) I did note that Ahmad Rashad is in the foursome, so I’m assuming Valerie Jarrett is along again on this getaway—–(they’ve been romantically linked).
Weren’t they just engaged? (Jarrett & Rashad)? Or maybe I’m jumping ahead here.
What?? A family member says that a passenger on the mising planes cellphone is still operating??
What the heck??
You have now entered that dimension known as the TWILIGHT ZONE….. (creepy…creepy…creepy…)…..

I noticed that Steve Kornacki has nothing new on Christie so he is now dealing in hypotheticals and what if’s now.
Next week should get meatier because Bill Stepien and Bridget Kelly are being taken to court on 3/11 to force them to hand over documents related to Bridgegate. Until we get those documents, the story is not being significantlyadvanced. Federal Investigators are also involved now but it may be slow going for awhile.
