Where is everyone? Are we the only ones up and about this early. Darned keys on the keyboard are sticking. Must be the Cheeto’s I’ve been eating lately. :)
I watched the Finale of Scandal last night, what do you think is going on? Do you think they are going to end the show in the next time they come back on the air? What an ending. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I wished I would have gotten on the “Scandal” train when it first started, it seems like it’s an outstanding show. At this moment in in time “Blacklist” has all my attention.

I haven’t gotten on the train either – I can barely afford to keep up with the TV shows I’m watching. Adding another one would just mean nothing else gets done…but based on people’s responses, I know I’m missing a lot. So maybe I’ll binge-watch the series, Season by Season when I’m on vacation or something.. :) :)

Hi Roberta, I thought that the show had finally gone too far, but then again, Shonda Rhimes has a wicked way of looking at things and everything comes out in a way that the audience never imagined. I’ll tune in to see.

That wasn’t the finale. The cast is actually filming the finale (episode 18) next week I believe. We have about 5 more episodes to go and we’re going to see the First Family’s children that they talk about but we never see. They released pictures and the family does not look happy, which means, another great episode.

The ending was great and now we have to wonder what’s going to happen next Thursday. The cast has been tweeting that the finale episode which is Episode 18 and they said we should get ready to have our jaws dropped. It’s going to be gooooooood.

        March 15, 2014 at 10:35 am

I think I must have missed it or read it wrong on the finale. But it seems to get wacked out at times. I agree with trumpdog, The characters are getting scarey and Jake really upset me when he shot those people at the end. Damn.

    • 24 TrumpDog
      March 15, 2014 at 9:26 am

I wasn’t impressed. Olivia is starting to annoy me, Quinn is creeping me out, Cy is an ass that really screwed things up and just when I thought Jake added some amount of decency, he does that. Don’t care for him this point either.
In fact I’m starting to not like the majority of the characters.

      Mellie’s cool though.

I hope next episode is better; they’re starting to lose me.

You know I’ve had enough of this stupid talk about POTUS appearing on Between Two Ferns being undignified. I don’t get it what did he do which were so undignified. Those Clintonites is running their mouth to darn much, they better be careful because Hillary isn’t in the WH yet , meaning she doesn’t have my vote secured and I know alot of people who feel that way. Some of these people on the left is no better then the racists haters on the right.

      • 43 TrumpDog
        March 15, 2014 at 9:42 am

I’m trying really hard not to not start to feel resentful toward Hilary and her supporters. I know that “Ready for Hillary” is laying the groundwork for her run and I understand the need for preparedness but there is something jarringly irritating about this group going public while Obama is relatively early in his second term.

        Not liking that at all.

Agree Trumpdog, I also heard in a news report that Iowa is approving Hillary. So as far as I am concerned, Iowa is not longer a major factor for me.

One other little curiosity which has bothered me from the beginning of the missing plane mystery. It has been reported that there were 3 Americans on board. We have heard about the IBM guy from Texas but nothing about the other 2 Americans——-who are a 2 yr. old and a 4 yr. old—–with different last names—–articles always saying “not clear who they were traveling with”. Weird——–as the mystery continues and deepens with the reporting now saying they have concluded that the plane was hijacked—–either by one of the pilots or someone on board—-and more and more countries joining in the investigation—-see Australia has been enlisted now—–and news readers trying to add further intrigue by saying the plane could have reached Kharsygkstan (murdered spelling).

So I don’t want anyone to tell me anything about “Poor WH messaging” because this is the kind of rubbish we have to put up with whenever this particular WH/President attempts to get his message out. The media works overtime trying to drown out PBO’s message or blunt the effectiveness of his message, while amplifying the right/GOP’s msg under the guise of “reporting.”

    • March 15, 2014 at 9:12 am

      THISSSSSSSSSSSSS AND THISSSSSSSSSSS!!

    • 52 jackiegrumbacher
      March 15, 2014 at 9:13 am

Hf, the media desperately wants the ACA to fail. They know that the president’s appearance spiked interest in enrollment. Therefore the appearance must be bad. It’s a collaborative effort with the GOP.

      • 53 hopefruit2
        March 15, 2014 at 9:19 am

And this media practice of drowning the President’s message is not new or limited to the ACA. It’s pretty much his entire Presidency. The media has not allowed this President the “bully pulpit” as so many like to claim. In fact I would take it a step further and say that it’s the superior and innovating messaging of this administration that has allowed this President to govern quite effectively and to have two terms.

        • 54 vcprezofan2
          March 15, 2014 at 9:30 am

I have to agree with you, Hf. When you have a superior message, an excellent product, and a ‘foine’ face AND mind representing the product, and you combine that with word-of-mouth advertising – you don’t need noh bully pulpit.

Notwithstanding, it would have been ‘patriotic’ of MSM not to be so persistent in trying to destroy the message, and even more patriotic if they would simply do their jobs in a professional manner.

      • 55 anniebella
        March 15, 2014 at 9:36 am

I believe that too, that the media want the ACA to fail. I also remember saying something about how the media would whitewash Gov. Christie telling a heckler to sit down and shout up, but if this POTUS ever said anything like that to a heckler the media would run it 24/7, opening up the evening, morning news with President gets angry with citizen and tells citizen to shut up.

Morning everyone. Hope everyone is healthy today and Carol Mae got some good news about her eye. Flu seems to be wreaking havoc in NJ these days. My 50-year old nephew collapsed from a combination of flu and exhaustion and spent the night in the hospital; a 14 year-old great nephew fainted in his driveway–also from the flu. Both are doing better. Then last night my best friend’s dog of 14 years–her special baby–died and she is completely devastated. Held the little one in her arms and hugged her while she died. Just when you think that Spring will bring the warm healing that we’ve all longed for, things have a way of slapping back at you. Still this is the week we’ve waited for. The vernal equinox arrives on Thursday, the daffodils will eventually come up, the birds will return and the sun will shine. Have a great day!

Hey, PF, did you see that the petition challenges have started. One of the Lt Gov. candidates is challenging Paterno’s petition. Things are getting pretty ugly out there. Yuch!

        • March 15, 2014 at 9:32 am

yes….everyone is rushing thru the door….

Paterno…can have a seat as far as I am concerned

but still where is the grass roots organization…I worry that Corbett could get back in….for DEMs to win….it is all about turn-out!

  20. March 15, 2014 at 9:10 am

GMMMMMM TOD villeeeee….Happy Saturday indeed….First day of Spring on Thursday, the 20 , but there is snow in the forecast for Monday here in Philly….I suppose somebody forgot to tell Ole Man Winter….

    • 66 jackiegrumbacher
      March 15, 2014 at 9:16 am

Pf, the good news is that the snow won’t last this time. With temps spiking in the 40’s and 50’s, it will melt in days. The long days of frozen snow hills are ending.

  21. March 15, 2014 at 9:12 am

This is all so crazy. One plausible explanation:

    • March 15, 2014 at 9:17 am

I know that a plane going down with over 200 people aboard is a tragedy….but what I don’t get is why the press frenzy about it!…we got more press coverage about this…than the tragic events in WVa with the water supply being poisoned….

      • 70 hopefruit2
        March 15, 2014 at 10:03 am

They’re looking for a “terrorist” angle to then find a way to blame PBO….that’s what all this frenzy is about.

        • March 15, 2014 at 10:24 am

          lawdddddd….mercy…

My nana used to say, beware of the noise and the chatter…they are a way of causing confusion and distraction….

also Public Enemy…Don’t Believe the HYPE…

my nana would have been amused by my linking her to Public Enemy…hahaha…

I remember some months ago there was a TOD discussion about remaining focused …keeping our eyes on the prize…not becoming distracted by the noise….

PBO talks about not becoming sidetracked by the noise….

          This too shall pass…

one more thing…saw an article…in which Pelosi and Hse Dems are forging a strategy on how to use Ocare….she has never ran from Obamacare…or the ACA as she calls it….

        • March 15, 2014 at 10:29 am

          Indeed…

          by the way Meta…

          I really love your blog…

I will be fixing your applesauce cake today….I like how you adapted the recipe to one layer…just perfect for me….going to heat some apple pie filling…as a sauce to put on top…

          yum..

  22. 76 africa
    March 15, 2014 at 9:15 am

MSM can’t admit it. But yes, they have one standard for PBO and one for all other presidents. Moreover, some, just like GOP want Obamacare to fail. They won’t dispel GOP lies, but don’t want PBO to go around them to get the truth out. Pfttt.

    Here is Doris Kearns Goodwin.

You may have to be a Chicagoan to appreciate this response to the news that Bears QB and wife are refusing vaccinations for their children because of what they believe to be a possible link to autism——
“Medical experts were disappointed to learn that Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari are refusing to have their children immunized for a variety of ailments, including interceptionitis, which tends to run in the Cutler family”.

    • March 15, 2014 at 9:37 am

mercy…has there been actual proof that vaccinations (and which ones) have lead to autism…or is this just another urban myth…are they planning to keep their children at home or inside some kind protective shield…folks who do not vaccinate their children put other children at risk…mercy….

Picked up this shared quote from SmartyP. Almost seemed like she wasn’t finished the post though… And this conclusion from APA (?) doesn’t say anything we don’t all already know.

“Black boys as young as 10 may not be viewed in the same light of childhood innocence as their white peers, but are instead more likely to be mistaken as older, be perceived as guilty and face police violence if accused of a crime, according to new research. “Children in most societies are considered to be in a distinct group with characteristics such as innocence and the need for protection. Our research found that black boys can be seen as responsible for their actions at an age when white boys still benefit from the assumption that children are essentially innocent,” said the lead author.”

      March 15, 2014 at 10:06 am

vc, I won’t say what I started to say.But this does not shock me one bit. I still believe if Trayvon was white, Zimmerman would not have walk, and Dunn would have been found guilty of First Degree murder for the 17 year old he kill was white. We have a case in Georgia were a 17 year old black boy was found dead roll up in some kind of mat or rug in a high school gym and the ruling were accidental death. What did he fall in the roll up mat and died? The boy parents don’t buy that, and neither do I. This happen several years ago.

    • 88 hopefruit2
      March 15, 2014 at 10:07 am

White boys are given the benefit of innocence and protection well past their adulthood. Take for example 29-yr old Ed Snowden who is the subject of a NY Times article for clemency…If Snowden were Black, Middle-Eastern, Asian, Latino or Native American, he would be treated like a terrorist in the RW AND left-wing media. The US media wants to retain an image of Snowden as that innocent, naive, geeky “kid” who just happens to be outraged by the wrongdoing of government. Oh spare us all…

    • March 15, 2014 at 10:10 am

The Injustice of this…can be overwhelming…..but…just as my ancestors did not give up the will to be free….neither can I/we

Our president takes the by all means necessary idea to new heights. I just love all of the innovative ways he and his team find to go around the hostile msm to get his message out. Not only does he not need them, but he has shown them up to be the dinosaurs that they are. Their time is up and they hastened it themselves by their treatment of this president.

And whenever PBO does something that is real popular with the public, such as the “Between Two Ferns” appearance (just that name makes me laugh every time)——-they all pounce and try to turn something positive into something horrible and “undignified” and bad——which of course it wasn’t—–served the purpose well—-of urging young people to go to healthcare dot gov etc. They are like adolescents—-yelling at the handsome, popular QB—–‘and your mom wears combat boots’——with juvenile “mom jeans” accusations etc. You can’t help but laugh at them now—-they are all so pathetic and transparent in their desperation. I think more and more of the public are doing the same.

      • 93 CEB
        March 15, 2014 at 10:13 am

Tom Brokaw once said that Washington (the pols and media) was like being in junior high school. PBO is the cool-kid that everyone wants to be with or be like and when and when they are not part of his circle, they become like mean girls who lie and gossip and do everything they can to bring him down. It must really chaps their butts when he ignores their jibs and jabs. They cannot seem to realize that PBO is not like Clinton who wanted their approval and reveled in their company. PBOis a grown man who knows who he is and who has a job to do that he is determined to do to the best of his ability to make a lasting mark of true equality, inclusion, and opportunity for everyday Americans. He does not need them to feel good about himself or to be successful. They fact that he is this and is doing all this “presidenting while Black” pisses them off even more.

KSK, don’t forget going on vacations. This President and his family isn’t allow too, not like the other First families did. The right and I’m sure some of the left were talking about when he and his family went to Florida for a couple of days, how dare he with what is going on with Russia? Hay it took Rev. Al or Ed or one of them to mention that when Putin invaded Georgia in 2008 Bush was on vacation and he stayed on vacation when he learn of what Putin did. Imagine if that was President Obama.

Our priority at TOD is a win —a large win—-for Democrats in 2014. On the other hand

If you are Waiting for the Restoration of the True King ( & Queen) in 2016 you are rooting for destruction and defeat in 2014. You call your moves “sitting on the sidelines.”

Then, you sweep in in 2016 and all will hail the saviors of the USA and Forget the last guy as soon as possible.

I think this is what we are up against.
