Hi Dudette…(Star Trek fan) hope all is well…Found this and thought of you :-)
Ah yes, I remember this interview well. Thank you for posting this today. It made me cry buffalo tears first time I saw it.
Whoopie is correct about the impact the show. I love how that young man was able to tell her what she meant to him.
My feelings for Nichelle Nichols are on the same level. It’s clear that moment was a gift for both of them. I hope people who see this remember how something you do or say – no matter how big or small in your own eyes – can profoundly touch another person’s life, even people you don’t know personally..
The Gainan character was fantastic, a person who actually transcended history and all others in the story in a way.
From a race of “listeners” – I loved that about her character too.

Oh, tweety italics now? I hate you.
Can do all sorta tricks now. Secret site.
Oops, gonna need more letters.
Me too, Chips. Why doesn’t he just keep it secret and not taunt us with the goodies we….*I* can’t emulate?
PBO: So you see why sometimes, it’s good to get out on the road…
Pope Francis: Are you kidding me? I had to put a blocker on my phone. Berlusconi keeps calling, asking for absolution. The guy is nutty as a fruitcake!
PBO: Yes, we’ve met.
   I thought of that creep all day today, sooooooo glad he’s history!
I bet most of Itally feels the same way (with the possible exception of their media). :-)

Yes, Chips, photo of the day! Love it.
BTW, I think the caption might start with something like, “A priest, a rabbi, and a pasta maker walked in a bar … ”
(Somehow, I do not think “my” Pope would find that anything but amusing!)
Check out this budding stand-up comedian! :-D
[Never mind that you can't understand her. She's got timing and a wicked sense of humor!]
That’s adorable Dudette. Thanks for the giggle.
It’s a gem Jacqueline, I’d give ANYTHING to know what cracked PBO up!
I didn’t even know y’all were doing other captions, but that image cries out for one whopper! And, yes, we NEED to know what the heck PBO was laughing about!
Pope Francis looks like he has a healthy sense of humor! Usually, important people, who don’t take themselves so seriously, have a healthy sense of humor.

Love this historical tidbit (alluded to in the first minute of the above video):
“In a footnote in “The Declaration of Independence: A Study in the History of Political Ideas” by Carl Lotus Becker, published 1922, we learn:
The Rough Draft reads “[inherent &] inalienable.” There is no indication that Congress changed “inalienable” to “unalienable”; but the latter form appears in the text in the rough Journal, in the corrected Journal, and in the parchment copy. John Adams, in making his copy of the Rough Draft, wrote ” unalienable.” Adams was one of the committee which supervised the printing of the text adopted by Congress, and it may have been at his suggestion that the change was made in printing. “Unalienable” may have been the more customary form in the eighteenth century.”
Adams was quite the rascal, wasn’t he? :-)
Notice the first signer after John Hancock is New Hampshire’s Josiah Bartlett (namesake of the POTUS on the best TV show ever – The West Wing). :-)

Good Friday Morning TODVille!
Happy Beautiful Friday Everyone!
Hi No Child Left Behind-Have a wonderful day!
Good morning O-Peeps. When I opened my msn homepage I was greeted by a headline concerning a “poll” saying Obamacare support falters. No headline concerning the 6 million people who signed up for health insurance plans. This is not about horserace (since GOP is supposed to win in November wouldn’t the MSM be going after the GOP and propping up the Dems to create a “tight race” if the horserace nonsense held any water?), it is not about ratings (MSM ratings are down yet they continue with the anti-PBO stories). It is about spreading pro-GOP propaganda and depressing Dems so they don’t vote. The MSM/GOP is the enemy. I suggest flooding Twitter with push back and calling out the propaganda they feed us day in and day out.
Watching Scott Pelley’s interview with PBO on CBS now—–talking about Russia/Ukraine/Putin——will talk about pope visit.
Morning Early Birds!
If PBO is so unpopular (not true but the meme media is always pushing) why would CBS string out PBO’s interview over 3 segments? Aired first segment at top of the show, then a tease and said to stay tuned for more in the next half hour, then said to tune in tonight for more of the PBO interview.
