Will CSPAN carry our President’s remarks? I don’t see any indication of ACA on their website. CSPAN has become a GOP shill, just like its cable TV counterparts.

I think that only the more recent applications in the states haven’t been counted.

      • April 1, 2014 at 4:55 pm

Oh, I didn’t know that. In any case, I’d love to see the numbers at the end of the month when everybody’s had a chance to finish their apps.

      • 47 nospin
        April 1, 2014 at 6:22 pm

yep. that doesn’t even factor in the folks who initiated applications over a month ago and is still stuck in the Healthcare website abyss. My nephew is in that category. Tech issues causing the records inability to be saved and he can’t access certain parts of the plans.

We spent the last 4 weeks getting his password reset in the system and it wouldn’t route, finally today he accessed the system and he was told he has to wait until they have a fix for the latest problem. So at least another 2 weeks or more for him. Lots of folks with the same issue but at least at the end of all that he will still get healthcare even if it passes the March 18 deadline. So it is worth the frustration and the wait.

Yep, Markos can always be relied on to get everything wrong the first time. Isn’t that what the Irish call a “real git”? So glad we all found a sane home to come to, Chips. Thanks for starting the home fires and putting out the welcome sign.

I stayed for 5 minutes and won’t be back probably for another 4 years. Thanks Chipsticks for the community of NICE, FUN and SMART folks you gathered together.

Is everyone as amused as I am that the loony left that told people not to vote in 2010 over the public option has completely forgotten their rhetoric? Ed Schultz, Markos…… what a riot.

In all fairness one of whiners in 2010, Norman Goldman, at least admits he was a whiner then and that this law is helping millions of Americans.

Ed Shultz too who told people not to vote in 2010. They know better Noe but still say stupid stuff like why isn’t PBO doing this or that like all he has to do is what they think he should do.

I love how he framed the entire election campaign! “These people (the anti health care ones) are going to have to explain why they are so mad that people are getting health care. They are going to have to explain why three million young people will no longer be on their parents’ plans.” He went down the list of what THEY will have to do, put them totally on the defensive. I loved his question..”Why are these people so mad at Americans getting healthcare?” That is the question I’ve been asking for months. That includes the press. What makes them mad that more Americans will have health care? Like him, I don’t get it.

This goes to what I tweeted earlier (obviously PBO follows my tweets). It is not a question of Dems defending ACA, it is making the GOP try to defend why they want to take all this away from people.

They’ve not received their talking points yet. They’re scrambling a bit. They’re not all exactly on the same page. Paul Ryan, John Boehner still talking about “repeal” , others preparing a new law ( a bad one of course).

I have no doubt that by tomorrow or the day after, republicans will have coordinated their message. It’s almost comical, each and every time, to see them all parroting the same catchy phrases their communications guru have come up with.

They’re going to come back and be more aggressive than ever, mark my words. They don’t like being called out by the President.

By now, President Obama knows the drill. But since he knows they’ll oppose anyway, he chose to call them out bluntly . He vented some frustration I think. That speech was fierce. But most importantly, he reminded everybody ( were you listening , media ??? ) that it is, and always has been , simply about giving americans basic security.

Juvenile and telling and he’s taking his ball and going home!!!

House Budget Chair Paul Ryan (R-WI) said Tuesday that the announcement of 7 million Obamacare sign-ups was a “pyrrhic victory” for the Obama administration, but held that the law was still a “fiasco.”

While Democrats are touting enrollment numbers, “we repeal Obamacare,” Ryan told reporters on a conference call discussing his newly released budget blueprint.

For once, I don’t think Chuck means it in a pejorative way. As a guy who’s obsessed with the political game, I sense that he acknowledges NOW the effectiveness of the president’s tactics. His use of the words “non traditional” is accurate.

      • 174 donna dem 4 obama
        April 1, 2014 at 7:01 pm

I agree that the way he used “non traditional” is accurate but the use of “stunt” here to me gave a negative connotation. As if the President was trying to fool people into signing up for Obamacare. Maybe I’m super sensitive but these pundits have given me good reason to be ;)

I’m just disgusted by the drivel that my local news just reported regarding the President’s statement on ACA. They gave the president mAybe 15 seconds giving the total enrollment numbers, them gave McConnell 3 times the time to piss all over good news with “other insurers premiums skyrocketing, losing jobs…lie, lie, lie”. Called this enrollment news a “catastrophe”? He used that word, catastrophe. My head hurts.
No facts in there at all, but that’s what the average American is hearing on their local news broadcast. It isn’t any wonder that people are so confused.
Mitch McConnell is an effing catastrophe.

I expect nothing different from the media – they too have been rooting for ACA failure all along. They are just as pissed off and bitter as the GOP, so their bullshit doesn’t surprise me. It’s actually quite reassuring to see them lose their minds this way. :) :)
