Posted this on the tailend of the previous thread…

This early promotional push by HRC’s PUMAs is sure to backfire on them.

(Awhile ago, MuscatineGal said an acquaintance of her husband is now working on the HRC campaign in Iowa.)

This is what my Twitter timeline looked like at about 6:45 pm (PDT) today.

I’m so hoping a young Dem catches fire by wholeheartedly endorsing and supporting President Obama 100% in both domestic and foreign affairs.

How about a New Mexico Senator??? (Meta, recall what a hunk he is?)

These Hillary people don’t realize how they are turning folks like me off, I am not worry about 2016. I am focus on 2014.

How you feeling today, CarolMae? How’s the eye?

              • April 3, 2014 at 11:42 am

I’m seeing “images” and color, big improvement, but long way to go. Not quite so freaky looking. ;) But still red. Must be allergic to tape.

                  April 3, 2014 at 11:56 am

Oh God! The adhesive in the tape is terrible! There is tape out there that is hypoallergenic. The last thing you need is added inflammation.

                  • April 3, 2014 at 12:02 pm

I’ve never had reaction before, but then never had it on my face in such a sensitive area. The dr. suggested cortisone cream. I will just wear big Jackie O sunglasses and a scarf into office. ;) Hubby took my selfie to email Dr. but they didn’t seem worried. My eye was red or anything. But this Halloween I can be some puffy Rethug. :) with that photo.

You’re able to go to work? I didn’t know that. Use some cortisone cream. Eliminate some of the inflammation.

                    • April 3, 2014 at 12:48 pm

No, no, I don’t work, I mean when I go to doc tomorrow. I’m on bed rest for now. No bending, lifting, etc. I’m Not doing that. ;) I have a gas bubble in my eye. Can’t go to a higher altitude, etc. We have to drive about 160 miles one way to the eye clinic in Rapid City. They are really high tech, very impressed with the facility.

oh! That’s what I thought – there is significant recovery time.

The gas bubble – that’s what my friend had. Are you able to be upright? She had to be on her right side almost all the time.

That’s awful that you have drive that far to see your doctor. Addressing the less populous areas concerning health care is a major issue.

                    • April 3, 2014 at 12:57 pm

We’re used to the long distance. It’s all interstate, no heavy traffic unless it’s construction season. It’s part of choosing a lifestyle of living in the House without a roof. :) The Doctors from there do make trips to Gillette on a monthly basis, even do cataract surgery, but mine was more complicated. I’ve really got to get off now. Have a great day. Hope to have good news Sat.

                  • April 3, 2014 at 1:17 pm

I am using cortisone cream and it helped a lot.

Things are getting weirder by the minute. Talk about a nightmare. Had a dream with lots of nice family members in it, including a bunch of little ones, and they were all spilling out onto the lawn to play, and next door the neighbor came out to holler at them for leaving toys in my driveway and on my lawn. And the neighbor was a very short George W. Bush, and I remember thinking, “Well, I’ll just talk over him.” I was like la la la every time he yelled.

I see this as a sign of a full Democratic victory in both 2014 and 2016. I know things. Press 1 if you agree. Ha.

        GM Theo….

it was CW that PBO was going to lose in 2012…because of the amount of Money being thrown in the Koch brothers and their allies…because of voter suppression…etc…

so what has SCOTUS done since then….

create an avenue for even moreeeeeeee money to be spent to buy elections….Strike down a key section of the Voting Rights Act….thereby allowing even moreeeeeeee Voter Suppression

it is a systematic effort to defeat the OBAMA Coalition….by the 1%…

even if many folks do not recognize it..(Hillary and Co) .the 1% is quite aware that it is the OBAMA Coalition that is its greatest threat to its hold on America…

        as PBO said yesterday…

        Don’t Boo…..ORGANIZE…

Maybe because of this decision we will see names and the donation/tax haven private pacs can be more tightly regulated by the IRS as it was originally intended. Maybe some would prefer to remain private. I’m just spitballing. I haven’t really read enough to be an informed commenter. I didn’t know there was a limit on your limit to different candidates. I thought you could give $2500 per candidate, so that’s how much I know.

What I don’t understand is that the Fort Hood Commanding General said they are not releasing the name of the shooter, pending notification of kin, but MSNBC and perhaps others have confirmed his name and are advertising it. These “news” people have no empathy for anybody, and follow no set protocols of decency as they used to do.

Dorky nameless faceless spiritless “news” guy on CNN was working the special-effects screen, showing an aerial of Fort Hood, with his back to the camera the entire time. Even their own employees don’t want to be associated with CNN at this point. “THIS” may be CNN, as their mantra goes, but nobody wants to be identified with it. Click.

Unfortunately, there are too many people who refuse to accept the decline. I have two friends who I consider to be bright, who still religiously absorb everything they see on CNN without question. They just don’t want to accept that CNN isn’t what it used to be.

For a military kid, there is nothing more haunting than watching that strange black car roll up to your driveway, seeing two soldiers in dress uniform knock on your door, and helplessly watching your Mother faint at the news they gave her. In my case, I was 8 and the news was my Dad’s back had been broken during a parachute jumping accident on base. Miraculously, he’d survived but they were unsure of his status and they’d come to take us to the hospital.

Tonight 4 families got the worst news imaginable. My heart goes out to those families and the entire Ft Hood community.

        • April 3, 2014 at 2:35 am

Realized I needed to share this ….

“And Bernstein’s identification with Beethoven was long-lasting, and more than just musical. His social activism for liberal and left causes began in his youth, and was consistent throughout his life. Reflecting on the Ninth in one of his popular television broadcasts early in his career, Bernstein rightly insisted that this symphony “ranges from the mysterious, to the radiant, to the devout, to the ecstatic,” but the words of joy and peace are hollow and ineffective when “we have not yet found ways, short of murder, to act out our suppressed rages, hostilities, xenophobias, provincialism, mistrust and need for superiority.”

For Bernstein, Beethoven’s Ninth contains within it struggle, a “struggle for peace, for fulfillment of spirit, for serenity and triumphal joy. Somehow it must be possible to learn from his music by hearing it. No, not hearing it, but listening to it, with all our power of attention and concentration. Then, perhaps, we can grow into something worthy of being called the human race.”

And finally, “As despairing as we may be, we cannot listen to the Ninth Symphony without emerging from it changed, enriched, encouraged.”

Lenny certainly knew this man and his music. And more importantly, he understood that Beethoven’s music contained within it both a way of life and an ethics guided by the composer’s own personal and social affirmation of what is best in human beings.”

Saw a few minutes of the Ft. Hood presser. Gagged. Heard questions re: concealed carry, the old ‘goodguywitha…’ derp. Had to hit the porcelain goddess. No breakfast for me. My stomach is roiling.

By the way. CarolMae, aren’t you supposed to be resting that eye?

Bob, your coverage of the Ukraine should be what we are seeing on msm. You are a treasure.

99…are you still around? I usually lurk around the middle of the night with you and Dudette. Love your insights and info from your country.

JOB, I had the same reaction to cnn. It was a wonder to see when Turner started the network. I followed every part of the reporting during the Iraq invasion and beyond. Then things changed. Now it’s just a tar pit.

On that note, back to chasing as many of the great links as I can fit in before the woodstove starts calling my name.

    Good morning, VC.
I think you should take the day off. I tried coming home for lunch one day. Well, after making a feast for myself, I decided to “close my eyes for a minute”. Well, needless to sy, I overslept and got to work an hour before it was time to go back home. Of course, I stayed to make overtime and cannot remember what the reason I gave for rushing in as if it was morning.
So no more going home for me for lunch business. I find too much to do and get caught up.

Have a great day TODers. Off to a great walk in Central Park before I start this beautiful day.
Praying for the families and victims of Ft. Hood. So much pain…..
    Pray for Peace.
