MoooOOOooorning Early Birds – Happy Thursday!
Morning Chips and anyone awake this am.
Can’t believe I got here first. Couldn’t keep eyes or brain functioning last night, so missed the late party.
Morning Jackie, I couldn’t sleep until 4am for “some” reason. . .
Made breakfast, Meals on Wheels. . . Even amk monkey might like. Please don’t ban me bt.
@CarolMaeWY Thank you for this delightful photo!
Meals on Wheels. . . http://t.co/Q3WOkRgp1C— (@mk_inwa) April 03, 2014
CC, slipped past me! :(
Way to go JackieG! Eyes on the prize, indeed! Have yourself a lovely Thursday.
BTW, what was today’s prize? :)
VC, the prize was seeing our president’s smiling face early in the morning. Can’t beat that.
No, you can’t beat that! :) :) What a lovely reminder!
O Chica, it’s enormously pleasing that ever so often you throw in a vintage picture – one never before seen by moi. As always, I THANKS you! ;)
Mac: Hey buddy, wanna play with me?
Monkey: Grrrr… http://t.co/44tr6bm8jM— (@amk4obama) April 03, 2014
Oooooh, that’s fantastic!!!
What an interesting place you live in, AMK. Are the monkeys destructive or aggressive? If you sit outdoors do they bother you in any way?
The monkeys just steal if we keep the doors open and get all aggro if you shoo them. I got plenty of trees around doesn’t help me at all, only the monkeys.
Per indian mythology, you can’t kill them since they are our ancestors and have to be worshipped. Sigh ….
(At least, our religion kinda accepts evolution unlike the adam =>adam’s rib => wimmin crap)
Also. Too. I got cows/ducks/chickens. nucking futz.
Apologies, but I love the idea of the monkeys harassing you. :-)
Yes, you would, wouldn’t you?
I would LOVE to own a pet duck. :) I would name him/her “Quack.” I’m very creative in naming animals!

About as creative as I am. I like ‘Quack’ too, Hf.
See! In the good old days those would have been the ‘moving lips’ belly laugh, which is what I wanted. /old fashioned eye roll/
No you wouldn’t:) One of my college roommates thought that would be a fine idea! Walked by a pet store on the way to out apt right before Easter…saw “cute little chicks” and just couldn’t resist…well..they grow up! Not SUPPOSED to be in an apt:) The thing got done being cute…got big and nasty…although she did say it was a “man magnet” because she’d walk it on a leash…..would swim in our bathtub (think duck shit) and ate our pizza. No. You don’t want a duck. We named ours Atlantis…..I ended up giving him to a friend of mine that had huge acres of land with a big pond…because he ate all that pizza, he was plump. A fox ate him. Don’t get a duck.
Oh my, df…I do feel bad that it ended this way for Atlantis. Sounds like ducks are more than high maintenance! Maybe in my next lifetime when I own a huge mansion with acres upon acres of land!! :)
There you go! Then a duck would be fine….until then, just enjoy them swimming in the pond at the park. Better that way:)
DF, that tale almost read like an Aesop’s fable. You convinced me – I will not get a duck!
O, and a very ‘Good Afternoon’ to you, Mr. Amk (5:54pm – I checked). How are you this fine Thursday afternoon? I trust all is well?
5.54 pm = evening ≠ afternoon
6:00pm evening ≠ afternoon
>12:00 & <6pm = afternoon ≠ evening
Wake up and smell the roses.
Wait, do you have any roses?
Gotta go – start work at 9:00am. Ciao!
See ya later VC!
Have a GREAT Day! :)
GM everyoneeeeee….GM MsChipsssssss NW…and all of TODDDDDDville
There was CW that PBO was going to lose in 2012…because of the amount of Money being thrown in race by the Koch brothers and their allies…and because of voter suppression…etc…
so what has SCOTUS done since then….
create an avenue for even moreeeeeeee money to be spent to buy elections….Strike down a key section of the Voting Rights Act….thereby allowing even moreeeeeeee Voter Suppression
it is a systematic effort to defeat the OBAMA Coalition….by the 1%…
even if many folks do not recognize it..(Hillary and Co) .the 1% is quite aware that it is the OBAMA Coalition that is its greatest threat to its hold on America…
as PBO said yesterday…
Pf, the president gave us the tools for organizing and we have to use them–we can’t let him down. Our biggest enemy is apathy and we have to work very, very hard to overcome it. I was encouraged to see the reaction of the young audience in Michigan to the president’s message. They are our future and I don’t believe they will accept going backwards.
I agree….re: Apathy…PBO gave us HOPE that despite our challenges they can be met…WE the People can Win!!!!!!…and we did…not just once but twice!
Excellent commentary PF58!! The Hillary people are extremely naive and they misinterpret the media’s sudden and phony friendliness towards HRC. The media only “loves” Hillary to the extent that they believe she will continue policies that exclusively benefit the 1% while oppressing the majority of ordinary folks.
Right now PBO (and his coalition) represent the biggest threat to the 1%’s undeserved joyride, and they will do anything to destroy him.
I think that they are trying to drive a wedge between the PUMAs and The ObamaCoalition…
The thing about Obama Democrats is that we are no drama, and we know to respect, empower and include. Divide and conquer worked on the pre-Obama Democrats as did the purity messages, the divisive, self centered messages, and the disinformation. We seek out the truth, have no blinders on, love power through partnership, will act instead of sitting back and criticizing and we bring our fellows along with us because we want to be that kind of citizen.
PF, yes – you’re onto something with the divide and conquer attempts. The wingers disparage the power of community organizing and fail to recognize it made a huge difference in the last two Presidential elections and in the ACA sign-ups. We can’t let up know. More organizing for 2014!
these can spend their loot but we can organize and vote

You absolutely made my day with this one, Amk!
That’ll be 1000 bucks please.
(I see vc is here. So ….)
Pulls pockets inside out…..nothing. Will have to owe you. What’s that? Up to 5000? Already? Nasty interest rate you’ve got there.
You see, I got lotsa mouths to feed. dogs/ducks/cows/chickens and now monkeys.
What about wifey unit? I hope you feed her too?
That’s what FIL’s are for.
You got nothin’!! You should have to feed my partner! You ain’t got a trough big enough!
Lynn! Don’t negotiate! Let him take you to court (not the U.S. courts though).
Dialing the local ambulance chaser as we speak, vc!
Ha, LOVE it!!!
It’s amazing what you can tell about a candidate from the people he/she hires. As many of us PA people have mentioned here, we have FOUR Dem Governor candidates running in our May 20 primary. I called each campaign to ask for a blurb to include in our May newsletter, figuring they might like to get a pre-primary message sent out to thousands of Democrats in our county. The ONLY campaign so far that not only returned my phone call but was polite, interested and responsive was that of Rob McCord (who I favored anyway). He isn’t as rich as the current #1, but I think he’ll make a better candidate and governor and I hope people in the state wake up. He also hires better staff–which is a big tell, in my opinion.
That’s verrry telling.
thanks for this info
don’t know if this is a really photo or doctored in some way- but it gave me some laughs;
never seen so many medals on one persona in my life – even some are put on the trouser!
what did they have to do to earn all these ?
They're cunning those North Korean generals. Earn enough phoney medals and they basically double as body armour – http://t.co/8HcLMhlgCT— Kaya Burgess (Times) (@kayaburgess) April 03, 2014
Linda, they have to stay FAR away from a lake, river or pond or they’d sink to the bottom with all that weight. Honestly, how can they look in the mirror and not laugh out loud. It’s like they’re determined to keep the medal manufactures in business.
that is one messed up country!
I suspect that even if you “liberated” the people from li’l kim the murderer, they may need a few weeks to figure out what to do
They are required by law to wear a minimum of 37 pieces of “flair” or else.
Democrats vs republicans.
The contrast cannot be any more clearer.
Wake up, america. Vote for yourself. #2014 & #2016 http://t.co/jPZZyX35AZ— (@amk4obama) April 02, 2014
G’morning Chips & TOD! Congrats Jackie on #1 :)
Good Morning TOD
We awaken today to the harsh cold reality that guns are indeed prevalent in our society. The mentally stable as well as the mentally disabled can purchase a gun just as easy as buying a pack of gum. It’s damn near a badge of honor to have a gun in Texas (and many other places in the US). 4 families woke up this morning and realized that yesterday was not some awful nightmare. It’s real and they have been devastated along with others who anxiously wait to find out the health of their loved ones who were injured.
The President will be expected to console the Nation as our Commander-In-Chief. He will me magnificent because unfortunately he has had plenty of practice at this over the last 5 years and the gun lovers will clutch their guns even tighter and gun shops will see a spike in guns sales. Mitch will get another opportunity to be cheered at the next CPAC conference waving a gun so as to impress the NRA because this is America. Land of the Free and Home of the Brave….I think I’m going to be physically ill. :(
I have zero faith that anything will change in the US regarding guns because if our Congress didn’t have the political will to do anything after 20 babies were riddled with hundreds of bullets in Ct just because they happened to be in class that day then I know they have even less when it comes to those who put their lives on the line for our freedom in the military.
Please join me in lighting a candle for the injured and deceased, for their families and for our country that IMO has lost their way.
Even if Congress passed the toughest gun control laws in the world I don’t see it having much of an impact. The gun mentality is so deeply ingrained in this culture and has been for far too long. I don’t see anything changing it.
Heavy heart over this twisted attitude fomented by the NRA.
Thanks for the reminder.
I live on a main street in Chicago. There’s a bar on the corner. Saturday night, 4 20-somethings were drunk, fighting, storming in and out of their car. One ran through my yard, breaking two fences and was chased by another. But here was my fear: what if they had guns? Would a bullet come through my house? Would a normal argument that drunk people get into escalate to people getting killed?
My question is this: I’m sick to death of ’2nd Amendment rights’. Do I have rights to feel safe on the street, in my car, in my home because of carelessness and lack of any sense of anger management?
Doesn’t the public have ‘rights?
Yes you do!
The European Parliament votes to scrap the roaming fees charged for using a mobile phone while abroad, to take effect next year.
So bt, india soon? And bring the boy.
Moscow is pressing Nato to explain its plans to beef up military presence in Eastern Europe, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.
“We not only expect answers, but answers… based fully on respect for the rules we agreed on,” he said.
Nato earlier said it would reinforce the alliance’s defences in Eastern Europe following Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine.
Nato also halted all civilian and military co-operation with Russia.
Payback time, putin boy.
Interesting that Moscow expects ‘answers’ from NATO, but gives none themselves. I have an answer for them–”You brought this on, bozos. If you had respected Ukraine’s territorial integrity, we would have no need to “reinforce our alliances.” So look in the mirror Putin and find the culprit.
Answer is simple: “we don’t trust you”.
Rep Jim McDermott is on Washington Journal talking about Obamacare and the Ryan budget.
@lrozen Actually, it was the 4th in six years. There was a Ft. Hood shooting incident in September 2008.— (@aspirational12) April 03, 2014
In their attempts to try to tie any negative event to PBO somehow, you would think from media reports that shooting incidents at or near the Ft. Hood base only began in 2009. The media almost never talks about the September 2008 shooting incident which involved a soon-to-be-discharged serviceman who shot and killed a LT before taking his own life.
In 1991, there was another mass shooting in the town of Killen (near Ft Hood), when 35-yr old George Hennard went on a rampage and killed 24 people while driving his pickup truck. He ended up shooting/killing himself.
These incidents all point to the same thing — GUNS being placed in the hands of people who are not mentally equipped to own them.
Oh, you and your facts Hopefruit – stop ruining their narrative!
@lrozen – so tell that to #nra and their handmaidens in congress.— (@amk4obama) April 03, 2014
Exactly amk. Tell it to the NRA and their handmaidens in congress. Interesting that Laura Rozen is fixated on the last five years. Here’s a refresher for Laura that focuses on the last three decades.
A Guide to Mass Shootings in America
—By Mark Follman, Gavin Aronsen, and Deanna Pan
The 5-yr fixation is all about Barack Obama, that’s what it’s about. The 2008 shooting was much closer to the 2009 shooting than either of the other two – yet she doesn’t seem to know about it?
I wanted to scream after Sen. Cornyn remarks.
@lrozen Blame Bush/Cheney 4 lowering enlistment standards 2 fight their trumped up wars. Many unfit & criminals now in military— (@FlowerInFaith) April 03, 2014
hopefruit2, this came to me last night, I said to myself let’s watch and see the right wing haters or some of the media try to blame POTUS concerning this Fort Hood shooting. hopefruit2,Thank you for doing Rozen job, which is telling the truth.
I'd like to personally thank @bennyjohnson for this video of Nancy Pelosi dancing, shaking maracas w/ Steve Stockman vine.co/v/Mel7DdUvw0g— jennifer bendery (@jbendery) April 03, 2014
Gosh she is in her seventies and she can even dance. Speaker Pelosi 2014 I am hoping and praying. The only way John Boehner can dance is when he is tripping over himself when he has had to many drinks.
Nancy puts the younger folks to shame! We do need to give her back the Speakership in 2014 :) #YesWeMust
How is it that no one ever mentions NancySmash for president? She’s not much older than some of the stiffs being touted (and looks in better shape than quite a few of them), and she shows more interest in the well-being of the average Joe than Hillary does. I am rooting for a young 2016 president, but I sure would take Nancy over all the others whose names keep cropping up.
I’m not sure she’s interested in running for President, and she seems to really enjoy her role as Dem House Leader. However, if she did decide to run, I would seriously consider her over HRC!
I doubt she is, Hopef, but looking at her here and reading the comments the thought popped into my head. From my observations, she is streets ahead of HRC! I wouldn’t consider voting for HRC at all, unless it was between her and a Republican. Despite her accomplishments, I really do not see Hillary as a sincere politician – a self-serving one, yes; sincerely interested in #wethepeople, no.
Nancy got groove!
The Senate Intel Committee is voting today to release the 400 page summary on torture…..
If it passes it will go to the CIA for scanning to see if anything should be redacted.
Speaking of disgust, I saw Sarah Palin on Jimmy Fallon show last night, I didn’t watch their little skit. I turn the tv as soon as I saw her face and never turn it back. It seems that Palin woman is always criticizing POTUS and FLOTUS any time they appear on these shows, but here she is coping them. Next thing you know Palin will be appearing on Between Two Ferns.
Could that be the reason his producers pushed that lame ACA “joke” the night before? So that Palin’s RWNJ anti-Obama fans would tune in last night? Interestingly, they always bring on these GOP politicians AFTER PBO/FLOTUS have successfully brought ratings to their show. I recall Fallon having Romney on to “slow jam the news” after PBO did it. It looked so silly and stiff. Like you said, these GOPers always copying the Obamas but have no problems attacking them.
It’s all fair & balanced bs, dontchaknow. the tundra twit is the same as FLOTUS.
Good stuff here, including some good graphics I can’t grab….
kitty love. http://t.co/029alTzvNN— (@amk4obama) April 03, 2014
I’m gonna cry!!!!!!
E.J. Dionne: The GOP must admit it was wrong on Obamacare – The Washington Post washingtonpost.com/opinions/ej-di…— Bonnie Lesley (@EdFocus) April 03, 2014
I love to see the entire MSM backpedal and pretend it was just the “GOP” predicting bad and rooting for the ACA failure. I could bring up a ton of articles from the so-called centrist or even left media, mocking/ridiculing PBO, claiming what a “disaster” the ACA exchanges were. Now they want to distance themselves from the GOP?
but Mea Culpa from media about anything MSM has got wrong about PBO and especially about Obamacare will never happen;
instead, they will just move on to the next shiny object (fake gop-generated “scandal”) keep under-estimating PBO and helping gop out in lying to the gullible people
gop admitting wrong on Obamacare will never happen but one can put this demand down in the historical records
You have some stupid ass Republicans still talking about getting rid of Obamacare, I guess when they win the Senate in 2014, keep the House and win the WH back in 2016.
He’s delusional. That’s never going to happen.
I am watching the C-Span 26th hearing and the lies the repugnate repugs lies in their statements. This is such bs the R’s are spewing. The GOP cite lies of PBO but the dems don’t list GOP lies.
E.J. Dionne’s article is a good one because he asks all the right questions. He should ask these same questions when he goes on Morning Joke and Hardball and whatever else show he frequents. The media adopts the Republican talking points and repeats them over and over again. Just this week with this major achievement of 7 Million enrolled all of the reporting from the MSM has been done with caveats. Did they sign up enough young people? Did these people have insurance before? How many have paid their premiums? Although I can point you to articles that came out in the last week that talks about the payments and new insurers the pundits ignore it and just go about spewing these talking points.
It’s very frustrating but in the last week Paul Krugman and now E.J. Dionne two high profile opinion writers have questioned the media and called out the Republicans so maybe the tide will begin to turn. We can only hope but I won’t hold my breath!
bum or bummed ? http://t.co/TPPiEaMRkv— (@amk4obama) April 03, 2014
I guess Charles Koch had a sad and wrote his thoughts down in the WSJ…..here’s a rebuttal to the whiny, poor put upon billionaire.
poor Charles, why pick on the “vulnerable billionaire” who is bent on destroying the very foundations of the nation?????
the Koch bros can’t handle the scrutiny
Rubio: Spanish Language Networks ‘Have Become All-Out Advocates For Obamacare’
Marco haz a sad.
could it be because Telemundo understands this pesky little thing called “serving the real needs of the people who pay for your economic existence”?
anyone who has a heart and brain understands that addressing the needs of un-insured and under-insured in the US means paying special attention to racial minorities, the working poor and the poor in all communities
Rubio haz a very big sad because Spanish language networks are helping Latinos gain access to affordable healthcare talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/rubio…— meta (@metaquest) April 03, 2014
Rubio called it “unfortunate” that they would be promoting Obamacare. Do these people realize how crazy they sound? I feel like the President, “why would they not want people to get health care?” These are the most cold, cruel, heartless, callous people on the face of the earth. They disgust me.
You should have seen my jaw drop when I read the article. They have no idea how absolutely completely hideous they sound to Americans outside their crazy beltway games.
STFU Gibbs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Former Obama White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Wednesday that he believed Obamacare’s employer mandate would eventually be repealed.
BenefitsPro.com flagged Gibbs’s comments, made during a speech at an employee benefits expo in Colorado Springs.
“I don’t think the employer mandate will go into effect,” he said. “It’s a small part of the law. I think it will be one of the first things to go.”
He reminds me of former Clinton Adviser Dick Morris after he left the WH ( fired ) he trashed the Clinton’s continuously on Fox.
Follow the money.
He has been such a disappointment. I was never all that impressed with him as Press Secretary but his constant controversial comments regarding this administration leads me to believe that he has an ax to grind with someone in the WH. He indeed needs to SIT DOWN!
Robert Gibbs who? Can’t compare to Jay Carney. Gibbs is acting like someone who have a grudge.
OK, I think I’m going to BARF. George W Bush is giving an interview to his DAUGHTER and will be revealing 24 portraits of world leaders on the Today show tomorrow.
This is so beyond SICK
How ironic is his statement.
He slammed Guccifer, the hacker who intercepted the Bush family’s emails and first revealed some of Bush’s paintings, in an interview with his daughter Jenna Bush Hager airing Friday on NBC’s “Today.”
“I was annoyed. It’s an invasion of one’s privacy,” he said. “And yeah, I was annoyed. And nor do I want my paintings to get out.”
So NBC is now running a family business for the Bushes? Is that it? Hmmm….how ethical of them…
Obamacare is slated to cut Kentucky’s uninsured rate by 40 percent, and Harry Reid really wants to rub it in Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) face.
“My counterpart, the senior senator from Kentucky, will address the Senate probably after I finish,” the Democratic majority leader said Thursday on the Senate floor. “In his home state of Kentucky, 360,000 people have signed up for coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Three hundred and sixty thousand.”
Don Stewart, a spokesman for McConnell, responded on Twitter by linking to a local report from November estimating, based on state figures, that 280,000 Kentuckians would see be dropped from their coverage due to Obamacare.
Good morning TODers.
I saw the Governor of KY interviewed and he absolutely refused to say the word “Obama”. It was really interesting because the previous segment discussed how our very misinformed public does not know that ACA and “ObamaCare” are the same thing. When the Governor, who is a Democrat was constantly asked why KY was having such success with signing up people for “ObamaCare”, he continuously used the term Affordable Care Act and would NEVER say ObamaCare. He practically admitted that if people believed it was ObamaCare instead of ACA they would be against it. Really sad and pathetic, IMO. I’m glad people are signing up, but it’s too bad they hate the President to the point that his name can’t be mentioned. I hope people continue to call it ObamaCare, because as it continues on it’s forward and positive march the Repubs will endeavor to remove President Obama from having anything to do with law – and Americans have very short memories.
It’s the South. Need we say more. The white people still wave confederate flags around there.
