The monkeys just steal if we keep the doors open and get all aggro if you shoo them. I got plenty of trees around doesn’t help me at all, only the monkeys.

Per indian mythology, you can’t kill them since they are our ancestors and have to be worshipped. Sigh ….

(At least, our religion kinda accepts evolution unlike the adam =>adam’s rib => wimmin crap)

Also. Too. I got cows/ducks/chickens. nucking futz.

No you wouldn’t:) One of my college roommates thought that would be a fine idea! Walked by a pet store on the way to out apt right before Easter…saw “cute little chicks” and just couldn’t resist…well..they grow up! Not SUPPOSED to be in an apt:) The thing got done being cute…got big and nasty…although she did say it was a “man magnet” because she’d walk it on a leash…..would swim in our bathtub (think duck shit) and ate our pizza. No. You don’t want a duck. We named ours Atlantis…..I ended up giving him to a friend of mine that had huge acres of land with a big pond…because he ate all that pizza, he was plump. A fox ate him. Don’t get a duck.

            Morning TOD:)

There was CW that PBO was going to lose in 2012…because of the amount of Money being thrown in race by the Koch brothers and their allies…and because of voter suppression…etc…

so what has SCOTUS done since then….

create an avenue for even moreeeeeeee money to be spent to buy elections….Strike down a key section of the Voting Rights Act….thereby allowing even moreeeeeeee Voter Suppression

it is a systematic effort to defeat the OBAMA Coalition….by the 1%…

even if many folks do not recognize it..(Hillary and Co) .the 1% is quite aware that it is the OBAMA Coalition that is its greatest threat to its hold on America…

    as PBO said yesterday…

Pf, the president gave us the tools for organizing and we have to use them–we can’t let him down. Our biggest enemy is apathy and we have to work very, very hard to overcome it. I was encouraged to see the reaction of the young audience in Michigan to the president’s message. They are our future and I don’t believe they will accept going backwards.

Excellent commentary PF58!! The Hillary people are extremely naive and they misinterpret the media’s sudden and phony friendliness towards HRC. The media only “loves” Hillary to the extent that they believe she will continue policies that exclusively benefit the 1% while oppressing the majority of ordinary folks.

Right now PBO (and his coalition) represent the biggest threat to the 1%’s undeserved joyride, and they will do anything to destroy him.

The thing about Obama Democrats is that we are no drama, and we know to respect, empower and include. Divide and conquer worked on the pre-Obama Democrats as did the purity messages, the divisive, self centered messages, and the disinformation. We seek out the truth, have no blinders on, love power through partnership, will act instead of sitting back and criticizing and we bring our fellows along with us because we want to be that kind of citizen.

It’s amazing what you can tell about a candidate from the people he/she hires. As many of us PA people have mentioned here, we have FOUR Dem Governor candidates running in our May 20 primary. I called each campaign to ask for a blurb to include in our May newsletter, figuring they might like to get a pre-primary message sent out to thousands of Democrats in our county. The ONLY campaign so far that not only returned my phone call but was polite, interested and responsive was that of Rob McCord (who I favored anyway). He isn’t as rich as the current #1, but I think he’ll make a better candidate and governor and I hope people in the state wake up. He also hires better staff–which is a big tell, in my opinion.

    Good Morning TOD

We awaken today to the harsh cold reality that guns are indeed prevalent in our society. The mentally stable as well as the mentally disabled can purchase a gun just as easy as buying a pack of gum. It’s damn near a badge of honor to have a gun in Texas (and many other places in the US). 4 families woke up this morning and realized that yesterday was not some awful nightmare. It’s real and they have been devastated along with others who anxiously wait to find out the health of their loved ones who were injured.

The President will be expected to console the Nation as our Commander-In-Chief. He will me magnificent because unfortunately he has had plenty of practice at this over the last 5 years and the gun lovers will clutch their guns even tighter and gun shops will see a spike in guns sales. Mitch will get another opportunity to be cheered at the next CPAC conference waving a gun so as to impress the NRA because this is America. Land of the Free and Home of the Brave….I think I’m going to be physically ill. :(

I have zero faith that anything will change in the US regarding guns because if our Congress didn’t have the political will to do anything after 20 babies were riddled with hundreds of bullets in Ct just because they happened to be in class that day then I know they have even less when it comes to those who put their lives on the line for our freedom in the military.

Please join me in lighting a candle for the injured and deceased, for their families and for our country that IMO has lost their way.

    http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO

    • April 3, 2014 at 8:26 am

Even if Congress passed the toughest gun control laws in the world I don’t see it having much of an impact. The gun mentality is so deeply ingrained in this culture and has been for far too long. I don’t see anything changing it.

I live on a main street in Chicago. There’s a bar on the corner. Saturday night, 4 20-somethings were drunk, fighting, storming in and out of their car. One ran through my yard, breaking two fences and was chased by another. But here was my fear: what if they had guns? Would a bullet come through my house? Would a normal argument that drunk people get into escalate to people getting killed?

My question is this: I’m sick to death of ‘2nd Amendment rights’. Do I have rights to feel safe on the street, in my car, in my home because of carelessness and lack of any sense of anger management?

      Doesn’t the public have ‘rights?

Moscow is pressing Nato to explain its plans to beef up military presence in Eastern Europe, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.

“We not only expect answers, but answers… based fully on respect for the rules we agreed on,” he said.

Nato earlier said it would reinforce the alliance’s defences in Eastern Europe following Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine.

Nato also halted all civilian and military co-operation with Russia.

Interesting that Moscow expects ‘answers’ from NATO, but gives none themselves. I have an answer for them–“You brought this on, bozos. If you had respected Ukraine’s territorial integrity, we would have no need to “reinforce our alliances.” So look in the mirror Putin and find the culprit.

In their attempts to try to tie any negative event to PBO somehow, you would think from media reports that shooting incidents at or near the Ft. Hood base only began in 2009. The media almost never talks about the September 2008 shooting incident which involved a soon-to-be-discharged serviceman who shot and killed a LT before taking his own life.

In 1991, there was another mass shooting in the town of Killen (near Ft Hood), when 35-yr old George Hennard went on a rampage and killed 24 people while driving his pickup truck. He ended up shooting/killing himself.

    http://www.chron.com/life/article/Shooting-rampage-at-Killeen-Luby-s-left-24-dead-2037092.php

These incidents all point to the same thing — GUNS being placed in the hands of people who are not mentally equipped to own them.

She’s not much older than some of the stiffs being touted (and looks in better shape than quite a few of them), and she shows more interest in the well-being of the average Joe than Hillary does. Could that be the reason his producers pushed that lame ACA “joke” the night before? So that Palin’s RWNJ anti-Obama fans would tune in last night? Interestingly, they always bring on these GOP politicians AFTER PBO/FLOTUS have successfully brought ratings to their show. I recall Fallon having Romney on to “slow jam the news” after PBO did it. E.J. Dionne’s article is a good one because he asks all the right questions. He should ask these same questions when he goes on Morning Joke and Hardball and whatever else show he frequents. The media adopts the Republican talking points and repeats them over and over again. Just this week with this major achievement of 7 Million enrolled all of the reporting from the MSM has been done with caveats. Did they sign up enough young people? Did these people have insurance before? How many have paid their premiums? Although I can point you to articles that came out in the last week that talks about the payments and new insurers the pundits ignore it and just go about spewing these talking points.

It’s very frustrating but in the last week Paul Krugman and now E.J. Dionne two high profile opinion writers have questioned the media and called out the Republicans so maybe the tide will begin to turn. We can only hope but I won’t hold my breath!

Obamacare is slated to cut Kentucky’s uninsured rate by 40 percent, and Harry Reid really wants to rub it in Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) face.

“My counterpart, the senior senator from Kentucky, will address the Senate probably after I finish,” the Democratic majority leader said Thursday on the Senate floor. “In his home state of Kentucky, 360,000 people have signed up for coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Three hundred and sixty thousand.”

Don Stewart, a spokesman for McConnell, responded on Twitter by linking to a local report from November estimating, based on state figures, that 280,000 Kentuckians would see be dropped from their coverage due to Obamacare.

      Good morning TODers.

I saw the Governor of KY interviewed and he absolutely refused to say the word “Obama”. It was really interesting because the previous segment discussed how our very misinformed public does not know that ACA and “ObamaCare” are the same thing. When the Governor, who is a Democrat was constantly asked why KY was having such success with signing up people for “ObamaCare”, he continuously used the term Affordable Care Act and would NEVER say ObamaCare. He practically admitted that if people believed it was ObamaCare instead of ACA they would be against it. Really sad and pathetic, IMO. I’m glad people are signing up, but it’s too bad they hate the President to the point that his name can’t be mentioned. I hope people continue to call it ObamaCare, because as it continues on it’s forward and positive march the Repubs will endeavor to remove President Obama from having anything to do with law – and Americans have very short memories.
