        It’s a month long circus since it is a huge exercise. I get to vote on 24th. Results will be known only in May 2nd week.

        No exit polls. No opinion polls. All banned by our supremes. TGFSM.

        Good Morning JackieG!

    GM Chips and all. I love photos of our POTUS and VPOTUS laughing together. They both throw themselves completely into the joy of it. Would love just once to know what they were laughing about because I don’t think they waste all their time thinking of Republican absurdities, although that would be an endlessly funny topic. The sight of two great and wonderful men laughing in the sunshine is a perfect start to the day. Thanks, Chips.

    I am really tired of all those who are trying to divert the nation’s attention from the 2014 Midterm to the “inevitable POTUS candidates of 2016″;

    caution: 2 years is a lifetime in politics and the road to 2016 leads through and is highly dependent on what happens in 2014 mid-terms;

      Democrat need to focus. And even those Hillary supporters need to cool it, because you are turning off alot of people you just might need if Hillary does run in 2016. I want the Democrats to keep control of the Senate, and if possible get the House back, if that is not possible we can gain some seats. Worry about 2016 when it gets here.

      The obsession with 2016 is infuriating. Lawrence O’Donnell is one of the main culprits at MSNBC (and we can’t forget Tweety). Lawrence can barely contain himself talking about HRC’s inevitable decision to run for president. He is positively giddy about it. This is the some of the crap that is causing MSNBC to lose so many eyeballs. As you said, two years is a lifetime in politics. Everyone should be focused like a laser to ensure we don’t see a repeat of the 2010 midterms. We have had nothing but obstructing, delaying, sabotaging, hostage taking and manufactured crises. The GOP is not fit to govern. I don’t know how anyone who has experienced the ‘Do Nothing Congress’ would not make skid marks to the polls to throw the bums out.

    Paul Krugman snatched the heck out of Ezra Klein’s wig and destroyed the ignoramus’s inaugural piece on Vox. Oh, Ezra. You really are a dumb dumb.

    Ezra Klein’s new venture Vox is up, and so far, so OK — some fairly interesting pieces, and nothing like Nate Silver’s lamentable decision to make a professional concern troll his chief writer on climate. I am troubled by Ezra’s big inauguratory think piece, but that’s because I think the piece raises a genuine intellectual puzzle. What Ezra does is cite research showing that people understand the world in ways that suit their tribal identities: in controlled experiments both conservatives and liberals systematically misread facts in a way that confirms their biases. And more information doesn’t help: people screen out or discount facts that don’t fit their worldview. Politics, as he says, makes us stupid.

    But here’s the thing: the lived experience is that this effect is not, in fact, symmetric between liberals and conservatives. Yes, liberals are sometimes subject to bouts of wishful thinking. But can anyone point to a liberal equivalent of conservative denial of climate change, or the “unskewing” mania late in the 2012 campaign, or the frantic efforts to deny that Obamacare is in fact covering a lot of previously uninsured Americans? I don’t mean liberals taking positions you personally disagree with — I mean examples of overwhelming rejection of something that shouldn’t even be in dispute.

    Good early morning everyone! It’s Thursday, right? (One day just goes into the next and I forget where we are!) I’ve pretty much decided to take tomorrow off work…testing week will be over for me and I figured since I work 7days/wk….tomorrow is a good day to take for myself:) I’m excited!

      Linda, the problem with this analysis, is that some states–like Ohio and PA–had Dem Governors in 2008 (Strickland in OH and Rendell in PA) when Democrat, Barack Obama, won the presidency. In fact, PA has voted for a Democrat to be president for the last 18 years no matter who was governor. Democratic governors almost always ease the process of voting, from early registrations to more polling places and later hours. R governors always make it harder. And a state is more likely to have ALL its votes accounted for if there is a Democratic Secretary of State. Also, the casual way they say that there will be “comfort” if the hideous, incompetent R governors are re-elected shows little awareness of the genuine hardship these losers are creating in their states.

      Sorry, but this article is pure BS. This guy is one of those “ReadyforHillary” fanatics who would love to see the GOP win big in 2014, so that PBO’s agenda will be thwarted and HRC can come in and “save” the day in 2016. I call B.S. and I say NO way in hell we Dems are going to allow the GOP to win ANY race, be it the Senatorial or Gubernatorial. By Scott’s logic, we should throw away decisive leads in key Gov races just to allow the possibility that HRC may win the Presidency in 2016?!?! This is absurd and a bogus argument based on past models that don’t fit the current political climate. If HRC decides to run and is a competitive candidate on her own merits, then she has a strong shot at winning in 2016. We do not need to hand the GOP undeserved elections while destroying the country for another two years just to satisfy some PUMA’s emotional fantasy of their dream candidate being America’s Saviour.

    The sale of long term debt by the Greek government was eight times over subscribed, the government has said.

    Greece’s deputy prime minister Evangelos Venizelos said demand for 3bn euros (£2.4bn) worth of five year bonds proved the country’s debt is sustainable.

    The sale attracted interest from 550 investors.

    Greece is retuning to the capital markets for the first time since its economy nearly collapsed in 2010.

    The Greek government had initially priced the bond to provide a return of between 5% and 5.25%.

    But with investor orders running at 20bn euros (£16.5bn) it was able to lower the yield to 4.95% – far lower than analysts had expected.

    The country still has a “junk” credit rating, nine notches below investment grade at Caa3 by Moody’s. Standard and Poor’s and Fitch rank Greece six notches below investment grade at B-.

    So, who are the idjits here, the ‘investors’ or the credit raters?

      This video says it all right there, hay Republicans look at it. You don’t have to go around yelling that you are a CHRISTIAN, you let your deeds speak for you. How you treat your fellow man and woman and children. How you treat this earth.

        I think, there’s time to campaign on all Grunwald mentioned, but I also think the KOCH brothers point need to be made repeatedly for it to catch on with more and more voters.

          I agree, VC. Things have to be repeated and repeated and repeated to sink in to the majority of people. One subject at a time needs to be pounded into people’s heads to get the point across. And please remember that some primaries have not been held and many areas do not know who their candidates are or what they’re running on. This is the year when politics are truly local. I, for one, am not going to get stirred up until I know which Dem candidate for governor emerges on May 20 in PA or who’s actually running for Congress or state offices.
