In NYC NAN speech yesterday, Pressident Obama gave a big shout-out to Mayor de Blasio to congratulate the mayor for enacting universal pre-kindergarten ed. PBO did NOT mention Gov. Cuomo who tried his best to steal all de Blasio’s thunder on this issue!
The Governor of New York is a monumental Turd. When de Blasio scheduled an education rally in the capital of NYS Cuomo showed up with the Queen of For-Profit Schools in NYC Eva Moskowitz. The Queen and her husband pay themselves $1,000,000 a year to funnel money out of public education into their charter schools.
Queen Moskowiz closed her schools on the day of de Blasio’s rally and bussed thousands of her schoolkids and their parents to stand with her and Governor Cuomo to drown out the mayor and his message. Of course the MSM covered the Cuomo and Queen rally and not Mayor de Blasio’s event.
Then to top off their 1% action the Gov. & Eva overloaded the TV with anti-de Blasio ads—$3 million dollars worth.
DeBlasio gave in on the charter school issue and declared pre-k a triumph. A mixed bag on days 1-100. Stay tuned.

I’ve given up on cable TV, so have seen no MSNBC talking heads this week.
What bothers me the most is that these media types live in sterile world, unpopulated by anyone unlike themselves (mostly young white males).
Many years ago, a woman told me that her baby was declared dead while still in utero. She had to carry the baby to term and deliver the dead baby, a truly horrifying experience for her and her family. My guess is that having to wait to deliver a stillborn child no longer happens but its clear that these dudebros have no idea what pain they are referring to.
Thanks arapaho415- that’s what bothered me most about this MSNBC tweet. Apart from the fact that the analogy was not even correct because neither the website nor the law are “dead” as the term “stillbirth” denotes, but using this psychologically painful and tragic end to a pregnancy just to maximize their sensationalist media appeal is utterly depraved in my opinion.

Over twenty-five years ago my close friend realized her baby was no longer moving at eight months. Fortunately her doctor and mine realized the fetus had died. I think it was before ultrasound. The doctor induced labor after he was certain of it. He might have put her under a strong dose of medicine so she wasn’t aware of what happened or any pain. It was her first pregnancy and a little girl. Soon after she had two boys. I’m sure the psychological pain never goes away for a mother or father.

This happened to my mother after she contacted German Measels when I was about 5. It was a nightmare for her. She was seeing a psychiatrist due to depression after she had to deliver the baby, and he treated her with shock treatment. He didn’t tell her that the side effects would be loss of memory, and she thought she was going crazy. Once they stopped the shock treatment she was okay.

Want to share my experience from couple hours ago: Doorbell rang. Went to the door and saw that a young woman had campaign flyers in her hands. She commented on the yard……you know, “icebreaker”. Then handed me the flyer and said she’s out walking and giving these out for Mike Hammond. He is running for Criminal Court Clerk. She said, “This is the office that has had all the problems.” I didn’t respond to that. (She is correct-has had lots of problems!!!!!) I took the flyer, looked at it briefly and as she started to walk away, I said, “I am going to be honest with you. I will not vote for a Republican, any Republican.” She said she understood and thanked me. Gosh, I LOVED saying that to her!!!!! :) :)

Ezra and Nate haven’t put in the “sweat equity” to be accomplished journalists. Heck, they’re not really journalists. They don’t know what it’s like to doggedly pursue a story, don’t know what it’s like to conduct interviews. They haven’t spent time in a foreign bureau, they’ve just sat back and had accolades heaped upon from nothing more than good timing. Nate has employable modeling/analytic skills, Ezra, not so much (a deadly combination with a status-conscious snob wife).
Ezra and Nate are still in the stage of their careers where mentors who have had to juggle news stories and have the judgment to decide “which hill to climb” would be immensely helpful to them and their readers. Instead, readers are expected to read these neophytes as if they have something informative to say. Nate will have plenty to say in 2016 — I doubt he’ll shed much light on 2014 since he’s part of the DC echo-chamber (which is batting about .000 these days). Ezra is so colorless and bland with only a stray creative thought bouncing around in that inflated head of his.

😎 Hi, I’m ok. I’m not sure how to respond. I hate to complain, but I’m miserable right now. My right eye hurts right now but not very much of the time. Turns out I was allergic to a new drug my regular doc switched me to just before surgery. It didn’t show until a few days later, then again about a week ago. I look awful, I’m bored with my own thoughts, miss TOD, etc. I could go on about the process, but it’s taken awhile to not be even worse than I am. Thanks for asking though Flower. 💐 That’s how I think of you. 😉
