Have to wish as a single parent I had earned $260,000 a year. I only ever topped out at $29,000, and that felt like wealth. Pathetic. Just pathetic. I’m done for this day. Nite y’all! http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO UhOh – only 13 candles alight, let’s not let that page go dark!! ;)

At no time in the history of humanity has any threatened nation behaved with more restraint and respect for life and the law than what Ukrainians have written into that history during the past 2 months.

ZERO doubt that Tzar Vlad has his operatives engaging in violence and other subversive activities in Ukraine ….

      • April 17, 2014 at 1:25 am

““The main goal of the activity of the special operatives on Ukrainian territory is maximum destabilisation of the situation” – he noted.

According to Naida, from as early as November of last year, Ukrainian counter-intelligence received information about the intentions of the Russian side to destabilise the situation in Ukraine using units from the Black Sea fleet of the Russian Federation. “This information was reported to the former command of the SBU but, criminally, the information was ignored” – he noted.

Naida reported that from the beginning of the military intervention, Ukrainian counter-intel has stopped the activity of around 40 HUMINT personnel of the Russian special ops forces, as well as sources recruited by them – both Russian and Ukrainian citizens.

He also recalled that 5 criminal cases are pending under the article “state treason,” with other criminal proceedings pending for “espionage,” “illegal use of firearms” as well as for mass disturbances.”

          Crunch time – http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-27059321

good night TOD and, let us hope that Russia will not back out of the meeting with Ukraine, US & EU scheduled to happen in the next few yours in Geneva and that they exit the meeting with a commitment to deescalate. My expectation is that that will not happen. In fact, I will not be the least bit surprised if they don’t attend.

What I do know is that the next 12 to 24 hours will be among the most critical in human history.

#TrustBarack … and be forever thankful that a majority of Americans did so and re-elected him. With Mitt, we’d all likely be mere vaporized atoms in an inestimably long nuclear winter.

You are so right, Bob. Thank God we have Barack Obama as POTUS. Goodnight to you. Sleep well, despite the news.

I read on Ha’aretz less than an hour ago that a pro-Russian group in Donetsk has ordered all Jewish citizens over 16 to “register” or be deported. The separatists seem to be doing this because they suspect that the Jews support the Ukrainian government. The separatists also claim that the Jews there are “hostile to the Orthodox Donetsk republic and its citizens.” This move targets Jewish citizens in Donetsk and is an attempt by the separatists to force them to show loyalty to Putin and Russia. This upsets me because it’s a very troubling step in the wrong direction. It reminds me of the way Jews in Germany were treated before and during WWII. What upsets me more are those Americans who are Putin lovers. They don’t know how despicable he is. It pains me seeing Americans supporting real tyrants, simply because of their perception that bullying behavior = strength. In fact, their behavior embarrasses me and blows their “America(ns) is/are exceptional meme to bits.

I had to go and peek in at CNN again. Why?!!!!

CNN, Don Lemon, and the other talking heads there have sold their souls for a few more ratings points, and it’s sad. I remember when Ted Turner first established the network. Some of my former students worked at its Atlanta affiliate. The network was a joy to watch–good, factual reporting, no BS. If CNN’s executives and shareholders want to know why the network is struggling, all they have to do is look at videotape of the network’s reporting. The last straw was seeing a CNN reporter sitting in the cockpit of a plane similar to the one that’s missing, pretending to know everything about the plane and the search for it. Sad.

That CNN reporter – Martin Savich, I think – and the aviation instructor are still sitting in that bloody simulator. On dry land. I’ve sat through their commentary briefly, and there’s nothing to be learned from them that we didn’t know already – since it’s all guesswork as to what actually happened. A month of guesswork!

        Very sad.

Well, this year thus far tops in terms of figuring out how strong a backbone one has. First my fav uncle passed, then my dear Dad, an hour after him, my aunt, then my cousin. It was a long 26 hour journey, one way, to get there, and fall into the arms of my loved ones. This song just kept playing in my mind along that journey and somehow helped me get through. Just sharing, and maybe we can all just “Keep on Truckin’” to Nov 2014 and beyond.

Here’s the one w/ Eddie & David Ruffin:
