THE 50 VOTES RIFF WAS BRILLIANT …….

President Obama mocked the 50 times the Republicans voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act LAW by saying that instead there could have been 50 votes to create jobs, improve infrastructure, innovation, college, raise the minimum wage and unemployment insurance.

    BURN.

I loved it when the President mention about the other people who could have health insurance and it wouldn’t cost the state anything, but because Republicans is playing politics these people will be without health insurance. Democrats need to talk about that more.

Agreed. Democrats should shame those red state governors until they do the right thing for their own constituents. It’s a moral issue.

I just heard that Chelsea Clinton announced that she’s expecting a baby. (Billl & Hillary must be psyched) What will be headline news on the morning shows tomorrow? President Obama’s announcement about 8M signed up for healthcare, a breakthrough with Ukraine or a future generation of Clintons? :)

    • 38 Ann_T
      April 17, 2014 at 5:09 pm

I just got my answer. WJLA (ABC in DC) just had a breaking news announcement about Chelsea’s baby. They followed that up with PBO’s press briefing discussing healthcare reform. (along with a clip of PBO talking about the states that are not expanding Medicaid for political spite.)

I’m sure the pregnancy announcement today rather than yesterday or tomorrow had Nothing to do with the great news for Obamacare today, right? Right? Nothing to do with a pathetic attempt to attract attention away from POTUS. Sure.

The man is One Force. He made a sacrifice and kept with it all by himself. I was glad that D’Kos raised some cash for him. I can’t thank him enough.

Glad Ed is talking about how the guys on the right are really going after him. He covered it on his radio show today. He was PISSED bigtime. Lots of callers said he should take this as a compliment because it proves he is getting to them. I know we all have times we are very upset with him, me included and especially the stunt he pulled in 2010. However, overall, I agree with many of the callers today: They are feeling more and more pushed in the corner from people like Ed and the more that is the case, the better.

He refused to give the name of the person who wrote this last story, but it will come out, of course.

They are also gunning for Rev Al. Slightly different tactic; rather than go after him directly, they are trying to stir up trouble for him in the Black press/blogosphere. Saw a “click-bait” link stating the Rev has taken money from and shilling for Republicans… No clicks from me…

      • April 17, 2014 at 5:36 pm

I know they are. I actually thought about that as I listened to Ed’s radio show earlier today. Proves even more how “cornered” they are feeling.

Oxford, PA, home to HBCU Lincoln University, was a hotbed of KKK activity when I was in H.S. There are currently 41 KNOWN groups in Pennsylvania.

Ticks me off that Homeland Security backed down after the 2009 report, commissioned by GWB was leaked.

Hey! Use this coupon please! What’s that? Is your kid getting seizures from shit we put in the Cheerios? Haha, you can’t sue us cuz you used that coupon! Suckas!

This is some BS! I don’t really use FB, but this kinda crap is enough to make me wanna go toss any of their products I might have in my pantry. Ugh!

GM must be fearful of millions of lawsuits because they got nailed for putting GMOs in their Cheerios, and every parent for decades has given their toddlers this cereal as a “wholesome” snack, including moi——afraid that Cheerios will get some of the blame for any kid health issues. They announced they will phase out their toxic ingredients—–how nice of them!—–but I haven’t seen any boxes of Cheerios proclaiming the Good News! yet. Can’t trust any of these corps any more, don’t seem to care who they harm, give me the money. Good reason to buy all organic, if possible.

They put trisodiumphosphate (TSP – WALL CLEANER) in their cheerios. a few years ago two of us called and one of us was told it was to help the cheerios float; the other, to keep rats away in the warehouse!

So I see that #ClintonBabyNames is trending on Twitter, but nothing about the ACA is… Hmm….

Way to go Hillary & Co….keep generating that “good will” from the public by trying to rain on PBO’s Presidency at every opportunity (with the media’s help of course).

          April 17, 2014 at 5:55 pm

Yup! Although I blame the media more than I blame the Clinton’s. They are politicians to the core and they know how to work things but they can only do what the media will allow them to do. Responsible journalist would not be focusing on a young girls pregnancy as wonderful as this is to the point of it being major news. It should be in the entertainment portion of the news not headline news. One day when the MSM becomes completely obsolete and all the newspapers fail and network news ratings tank they might just wake up but not a moment before that. Sigh!!!!

Isn’t that the website by Ezra Klein?

Did you see the HuffPost Front page and their Headline? Pretty Cool.

    • April 17, 2014 at 5:44 pm

When WaPo refused to give Ezra Klein the money and freedom to do his own thing, Ezra went to Vox and was given a BUNCH of money to create something.

      From wiki:

Vox is headquartered near DuPont Circle, Washington, D.C and across from Bryant Park, in New York City. Founded in 2003 as SportsBlogs, Inc., by political strategist Jerome Armstrong, freelance writer Tyler Bleszinski and Markos Moulitsas (creator of Daily Kos), the network now features over 300 sites with over 400 paid writers
