GE Folks! Just dropping in…….. got finals the next few weeks! Hope everyone is doing well……

Don’t know what has been posted about that vile creature Bundy, but Harry Reid, was spot on……he and his militia are racist, domestic terrorists…

“I’ve got a clear shot at four of them,” the man with a rifle beside me said, as he aimed his weapon in the direction of U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) officers. We were on a bridge in southern Nevada in the midst of a tense standoff between the BLM and a group of angry ranchers, milita-members and gun-rights activists. It seemed as if we were a hair’s breadth away from Americans killing Americans right in front of me.

The man who organizes ‘Burning Man’ has decided to “follow the lead” of good ol Cliven….. he is throwing a month long party w/ 450 bands across from his ranch! ……”since there are no permits required on this constitutionally *free* land” “There won’t be any bathroom facilities, but hell if the cows can…..”

    “come join Bundyfest……were expecting the Hell’s Angels, the L.A. Gay Men’s Choir…..”

The depth of symbolism in what the President did today in his interactions with Emperor Akihito is quite remarkable and historic.

The statement by Prime Minster ABE at the conclusion of his press conference with President Obama is not accidental and is profoundly important context:

“First of all, my basic recognition of history is such that politicians have to have a sense of humility when it comes to history. Japan, 70 years ago in the war — when the war ended, to many persons especially persons in Asia, we had inflicted tremendous damage and pain. And we have reflected on this, and we started our work after the war. For 70 years, as a peace-loving nation we have steadily shed the past, and that is Japan and that is the Japanese public.

Ever since we were poor we tried to contribute to Asia. We made our maximum efforts, even when we were poor. And many nations in Asia have evaluated highly Japan’s work. In the Abe government, there is no change in stance compared to previous governments. Last year’s end, I visited Yasukuni, and to those that have fought for the country and that have been wounded, that have passed away, I have prayed and prayed for the souls of such persons. That was the purpose of my visit to the shrine.

And many leaders of the world share this common attitude, I believe. And at the same time, in Yasukuni Shrine there is a remembrance memorial called Chinreisha, and I visited this memorial. This has not been reported much, but in this memorial, those who have passed away as a result of the war, not only Japanese, but those from all over the world honored there. So I have visited this memorial so that never again people would suffer in wars. I renewed my resolve to create such a society and such a world and I have renewed my pledge not to engage in war. And I have released a statement to that effect.

With regard to my basic thinking, I will continue to explain and make efforts so that people will understand. I should like to accumulate such efforts. After the war, in order to create a democratic and free nation, we have made tremendous efforts and we have respected human rights and we have valued the rule of law not only in Japan, but in the world. We want to increase regions of this kind.

And so, we would like to accumulate efforts toward this end — a peaceful and a prosperous world. In order to build such a world, we would like to contribute. And by so doing, I hope that many countries of the world would understand.”

Despite many arguments at the end of WWII, the US (Gen MacArthur in particular) refused to prosecute the Emperor and his family for war crimes. This had much to do with the acceptance of the occupation and the successful rebuilding of Japan into a strong modern democracy.

        • April 25, 2014 at 1:54 am

True, 99ts. Even larger issues regarding Japan’s Emperor have yet to come to light. Will address that issue directly to President Obama in as discrete and respectful a terse message as possible. Will post, shortly.

The NSA is NOT the problem…http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-lazarus-20140425,0,2539606.column#axzz2zrc58LhA

Verizon Wireless sells out customers with creepy new tactic
The carrier will monitor not just your wireless activities but also what you do on your wired or Wi-Fi-connected computers, then share that data with marketers.

THIS is the kind of thing that effects real people every day….not the NSA. Be careful when people scream loudly about freedoms being lost. They’re the ones stealing it away while you’re paying attention to the one they were screaming about….not the one doing you the real harm.

From the linked article: “Later, in a statement, NBC clarified, saying Meet the Press ‘brought in a brand consultant—not, as reported, a psychological one—to better understand how its anchor connects.’ They added, ‘This is certainly not unusual for any television program, especially one that’s driven so heavily by one person.’”

RADICAL RACIST CONTEXT MISSED IN RANCHER HYPE

    The Rachel Maddow Show (04/24/14)

    1) Radical racist context missed in rancher hype

Rachel Maddow points out that Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s racist remarks are unsurprising in the context of his apparent adherence to the philosophy of the Posse Comitatus and Sovereign Citizen movements, rooted in post-Civil War reconstruction.

    http://on.msnbc.com/RQMjnC

    2) Armed militia unwanted by rancher’s neighbors

Nevada Congressman Steven Horsford, who represents rancher Cliven Bundy’s district, talks with Rachel Maddow about how the citizens of his district, Bundy’s neighbors, feel about Bundy and his armed militia supporters.

Let us work to help this little boy keep the help his family needs by electing Democrats. It pains me to hear there was a classroom discussion of this. I remember when my third child came home from elementary school sad that she and her younger sister should not be here due to a school assembly by the zero population group. They probably did not say that outright, but that was the message that got through to a third grader.

BTW…HERE IS A SAMPLING OF THAT SINGLE MOTHER’S LIFE…SHE IS CURRENTLY ON ‘SNAP’ AT $347/MTH. SHE’S IN THE SALVATION ARMY APTS. IN A ROUGH NEIGHBORHOOD W/ HER 6 YEAR OLD SON. SHE IS AFRICAN AMERICAN…WITHOUT A CAR AND SEEKING EMPLOYMENT SHE CAN TAKE A BUS TO……FYI…HER SNAP WAS $367 TILL THE CONGRESSIONAL BIG BOYS IN SILK TIES REDUCED IT. HER RENT IS $25 PER MONTH FOR HER APT. AND SHE DOES NOT HAVE TO PAY UTILITIES. HOWEVER…HER SWEET SON CAN’T PLAY OUTSIDE BECAUSE OF THE AMBIANCE OF ‘WHO KNOWS WHAT.’ SHE ALSO HAS TO BEAR W/ THE FACT THAT THERE ARE DRUG PUSHERS LIVING IN HER COMPLEX. SHE WILL NOT ALLOW HER SON TO PLAY WITH TOY GUNS…HE LOVES SCHOOL BUT IS BULLIED ON THE BUS BECAUSE HE RIDES W/ KIDS FROM THE NEAREST SHELTER AND THEY ARE ALREADY ANGRY ABOUT THEIR LIVES BEFORE THEY GET ON THE BUS…THIS LITTLE GUY IS 6 BUT LOOKS 3…VERY TINY. SO MOM S STUCK IN THIS CYCLE…SHE WENT TO A CONSIGNMENT SHOP TO BUY BEDS…ENDED UP WITH BEDBUGS…SO…THEY WERE SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR WHILE THE APT. WAS SPRAYED FOR 2 MONTHS….ALL SHE HAD WAS A ROTTEN OLD WOODEN TABLE TO EAT ON W/BROKEN LEGS…AND A SOFA SOMEONE GAVE HER…THAT’S IT! BETWEEN HER MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER AND HERSELF…THERE ARE NO FATHERS OR GRANDFATHERS FOR THIS LITTLE BOY TO HOLD ONTO….WE WENT OUT AND BOUGHT HER FURNITURE…..SUPPLEMENT HER FOOD SUPPLY AND MADE SURE SHE HAD TWO NEW BEDS TO SLEEP ON…WE HAVE ADOPTED HER AND HER SON AND WILL CONTINUE TO STAND BY HER BECAUSE WE KNEW THAT SHE WAS TIRED OF HER LIFE! STAND UP AMERICA!……IF YOU CA AFFORD TO STUFF YOURSELVES TO EXCESS…YOU CAN AFFORD TO ADILY THAT NEEDS YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!

Chips, and all of the great brilliant minds who keep this beautiful space so wonderful with the visits of our POTUS, Thank you all so much. It is so a joy to come and see what is happening in the world regarding our president.

I pray daily thanking all of the goodness of this journey on this earth for giving us such beautiful spirits and souls of such grace and compassion to watch and support a great POTUS.

There will be times still when it seems like there is not another step we can walk, but we will make it through this journey. Please TOD family do not give up and stay together through it all. We will be fine. Our hope is bigger than their hate. Patience is a fine line to walk, but it is so worth it in this case, our beloved President Barack H. Obama. We love him so and his heart is so beautiful. Just look at his actions and how hard he works for all of us.

I have seen many presidents in my life, but none like this great soul. My heart does get heavy at times, especially when I see how he is treated, but I know that he is very strong and very decent; so Hope is alive. Please pray for his Cabinet and for him. May loving thoughts and prayers continue to keep him moving and strong. He knows that we are here, and he is so appreciative, believe me.

Thanks my beautiful Chips for all that you do. Thanks Nerdy W., and all of Chips beautiful TOD contributors. We could not enjoy this beautiful and respectful haven without all of you. {{{{{{{{ Thank you all so much}}}}}}}}.

I hope Alycee’s cousin is doing well. Alycee, please take good care and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Loving healing prayers to all within our TOD family who might be needing some {{{{{{{{{{{{{Healing hugs today}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}. HZ

I FEEL SO SORRY FOR THEM BEING LOCATED NEXT TO SUCH AN INSANE AND HATEFUL SOUL WHO PERSECUTES MANY. WE SHOULD ALWAYS INCLUDE THE LIVES OF THE NORTH KOREAN PEOPLE IN OUR PRAYERS BECAUSE THEY TOO SUFFER SO. WE MUST PRAY TOO FOR JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA’S RESOLVE. IT’S SUCH A SHAME THAT WE CANNOT JUST LOVE EACH OTHER IN THIS WORLD INSTEAD OF ALWAYS FINDING SOMETHING TO QUARREL ABOUT…INDEED…’MIGHT DOES NOT MAKE RIGHT’….THAT WAS JESUS CHRIST’S ORIGINAL PLAN BEFORE MAN-UNKIND DECIDED TO PLACE THEIR WRONGFUL STAMP ON IT! GOD BLESS YOU MR. PRESIDENT..MY PRAYERS WALK WITH YOU!

Just had a really creepy Twitter experience. Accidentally underslept and flipped on the teevee for a minute … saw Morning Joe on MSNBC (I had forgotten he existed – eek) so switched to New Day with Chris Cuomo. First he’s allowing a nasty has-been military guy talk trash about the President’s actions on Ukraine … then I note he’s interviewing Bundy this morning (Cuomo’s the one who previously interviewed Geo. Zimmerman). So I tweeted him about both. WHILE HE WAS STILL ON AIR (I asked him if his staff were doing the tweeting while he was ON AIR, but he’s so nasty it was really probably him) he LIVETWEETED me back more than once with stuff like “#getaclue” and other garbage. Me, a “potential viewer” (as if). Then I included CNN on one of my responses and asked if they were paying this guy with obvious “daddy issues” to tweet nasty stuff to nice viewers like me (well, I didn’t include that part) during the show. Then I logged out of twitter and sprinkled imaginary magic Obama dust all around myself. Remind me never to get up this early again, here in retirementland. It’s eerie at oh-dark-thirty. Ha!

Back to bed for me, to #getaclue.

    • April 25, 2014 at 7:21 am

      • 115 jacquelineoboomer
        April 25, 2014 at 7:37 am

Still awake … and agree. So, after switching to The “We don’t tweet back” Weather Channel, I popped back over to see what my boy Cuomo was doing. He introduced the awful John King who’s apparently left to do a segment on politics at 7:30 a.m. on CNN … too fitting. Anyway, King opens up with something like ” … usually second-term presidents seek refuge in foreign policy, especially when they have trouble at home … ” or more or less some trashy analysis like that, and then I muted his so-called review of the President’s trip abroad, where apparently “President Obama can’t even do a trade deal with Japan” or whatever King the GOP shill was muttering.

When I get up for the second time today, I shall stick with TOD for my news coverage and analysis!

        Good morning, Chips!
