    Don’t be surprised ….

From bottom of previous thread, two Items that I want to be sure all of you see, especially in the context of what is reported at the link in the tweet ….

      1. Children talking about Ukraine: Politics need to stop immediately
Posted on May 9, 2014 by robinrohrback

It’s very cute how they are confused about details and terminology, and how they mix up reasons and consequences, but sometimes they can formulate the most important points surprisingly well. They are from six to ten years old, but they understand so much. Gordonua.com asked 20 children one question: “What exactly is happening in Ukraine?”

I happened to witness a simple conversation. Educators were deciding who to invite to the school for Victory Day. Veterans, even the youngest ones, are already almost 90… “Maybe invite some of the children of war?” suggested one teacher. Suddenly, I understood that familiar phrase in a new way. In a modern context.

#TrustBarack and be forever thankful that he is the President of the United States at this perilous time

Please consider the following (in the context of the information that is linked in this tweet) …

“A number of experts are noting that Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev was not present at tonight’s emergency meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Moscow, nor did he send representatives to the massive display of Russian armed forces, including the simulation of an ICBM launch on the eve of 9 May Victory Day celebrations.

Instead, he met with Deputy Secretary of State William Burns, the second-highest ranking American diplomat and the Obama Administrator’s top expert on Russia.”

Every time you guys talk like that it just reminds me that there will be a day when POTUS and FLOTUS time in the WH will be over. But I will enjoy these next 2 and 1/2 years.

Bringing this over from last thread because its a BFD. PA’s Gov. Corbett will NOT appeal judge’s decision that voter ID requirement is unlawful. PA fought back and won. May other states be as fortunate!!

I guess it’s the sunlight that makes the President’s hair look so much grayer in some (but not all) of the photos. Makes him even more “suave and debonair” looking!

Hugs right back to you, HZ! Hope you are doing well, as am I. Today I kissed my toddler great grandson a fond farewell for a week – off with his mommy to Florida for a visit. He said he would miss me “so much” in his “sweet” voice (he has other voices!)! Said he would call me “two times,” while away. Ha. #LifeIsGood

You know I have come across some people who want to criticized FLOTUS for the hashtag sign she posted about the missing girls in Nigeria. The I came across this article, A Nigeria woman said that they are proud that the U.S. First Lady is standing with them. Outside a busy conference room, Hauna Ali, a Nigeria journalists and mother, grins as she holds up a cell phone, her new Black berry avator is a picture of Michelle Obama holding up a sign saying #BringBack ourGirls.

    • 22 jacquelineoboomer
      May 8, 2014 at 11:51 pm

And that is more proof that the First Lady’s involvement was and is important, and felt around the globe.

      May 9, 2014 at 2:42 am

Even Don Lemon defended the First Lady. He questioned the guy claiming those that use hashtags are doing so as some gimmick, asking “what have you done”? And that’s my question to all that just want to complain: What are YOU doing to help? Because many of us didn’t even know what was happeninging until people started speaking out on Twitter.

Hey y’all. Eyes are finally coming back to normal function, it took over 8 hours for the dilation to desist! Long day. No dreadful news: onset of cataracts, as I join the club, eh, and a confirmed diagnosis of Dominant Drusen, which you can google if you are inclined. At this stage it is not a cause for concern, so I am not to worry, and neither are you! But, I’m gone now for the evening as I am really very tired. Big hugs and many blessings all around. Goodnight, dear TOD.

WHY is that Air Force One video so bloody THRILLING??!! It’s because “he” is aboard; because some unknown crew makes this happen; because unknown maintenance people make sure everything is working; because the Fates are with it, this time; because, somehow, I don’t know, it seems to symbolize the very best of humanity: The ability to show up. It moved me monumentally…

Don’t tell me we humans don’t need symbols…

Request that each of you view this video and share it, in any way possible, with every person you know ….

I care to think about Monica Lewinsky about as much as Maureen Dowd … but with the latter’s obsession with President Obama in full view, here’s a reminder of how she went after Monica and Bill back in the late ’90s. Seems she just can’t help herself, because – I’m thinking – something is REALLY lacking in MoDo’s emotional life.

Gorgeous compilation of the President’s “commute” today.

Thanks, NW, for your steady, stellar effort in gathering these tidbits for our enjoyment. Very much appreciated.

I especially liked the first video, where Air Force One lands at Miramar Air Station in San Diego. Towards the end of the video, as the motorcade takes off, two Marines (?) salute the departing vehicles. It’s probably protocol, but I found it touching and very nice.

  21. May 9, 2014 at 12:44 am

I’m not savvy enough to understand why intel insiders (both past and present) would be bothered by this:

“The Obama administration is clamping down on a technique that government officials have long used to join in public discussions of well-known but technically still-secret information: citing news reports based on unauthorized disclosures.”

Any thoughts on this? Is this targeting GWB neo-cons???

      May 9, 2014 at 1:25 am

“the agency’s current and former employees and contractors may not cite news reports based on leaks in their speeches, opinion articles, books, term papers or other unofficial writings.” – so no-one at NSA or who used to be at NSA can be quoting Snowden and GG is how I read it.

That will give Mr GG something to get all huffy puffy about – the outrage will be there alongside of benghazi!!!!

First, thanks so much Nerdy W., for all that you give to us here at TOD. This is a haven of pure joy and support for me. I thank you for being here for all of us and helping our beautiful Chips make this the most enjoyable place of peace, love, compassion, knowledge, and respect going forth for our wonderful POTUS.

I also want to thank JER for all of the links that are so wonderful to take in each time our president takes off and lands. I always give out into his space thanksgiving for our AF1 and Marine One pilots and crew for all that they do to make POB’s trips safe and on schedule. We are so blessed to have all of the minds, hands, feet, and beautiful people working night and day to have everything ready for our president wherever he may have to go. Thank you, our gracious and capable crew. May your families also be blessed as you do your jobs to make these wonderful things happen as you carry the most precious man, our beloved president on each trip.

I am grateful when I see his motorcade moving with such precision and grace because he is so special to all of us. He moves with so much grace no matter how difficult his day may be going. When I see him arrive, my heart is moves to a peaceful and gracious space. I thank our SS Detail for all that they do to make all of this happen. Yes, it all matters to all of us to see that he is given the respect that he so deserves as our POTUS.

MightyPamela, Yardarm, Ms. LL, and all of our beautiful TOD family who are going through those healing moments, I love you all and I will keep you all in my thoughts. It is good to hear from Lawrence O’Donnell.

May we all give thanks to Bobfr for keeping us abreast of what is going happening on the world stage.

May everyone have a wonderful evening, morning, afternoon and enjoy each moment of your time in a good space that you have created for yourself and to share those beautiful moments with others. We will be fine as long as we stay together and work hard to accomplish our goals to get us through 2014. Do whatever you can to bring out the votes. POB will surely need us. He knows we are out here and we are still keeping his back. Trust me.

Good night, Mr. President. Enjoy the lovely weather while on the west coast. Lovely out here for him. The angels continue to shine around him with grace, love, wisdom, compassion, and peace. God Bless America and our wonderful President of the United States. HZ

HZ – Your late-evening posts are like hearing a sweet bedtime story, especially when some of us are tired after a long day. Feel like I could just close my eyes and drift off, reading your thoughtful, well-chosen words (if it weren’t for all the coffee I’ve had this evening). You have the gift, sweet lady.

Yes it does, 99ts! I was surprised that NYT editorial recommended: “Democrats who are now debating whether to participate in the committee shouldn’t hesitate to skip it. Their presence would only lend legitimacy to a farce.” I feel exactly the same way. I’ve sent two
e-mails, one to the Democratic Leader, Nancy Pelosi, and the other to my House Rep., Congresswoman Susan Davis, urging the Democrats to boycott the sham Benghazi committee.

Hey that tactic worked for the right wing; always accusing the media of being “liberal”. Now they bend over backwards trying to make sure they are not perceived as such – which causes them to be OVERLY critical of Democrats, booking 300 Republicans on Sunday shows to our 2, running with GOP talking points, and trumpeting any negative story about Obama that they can while being hesitant or quiet reporting positive news. Perhaps if we finally stepped up and called them out, their biased reporting will change .

Seems some of the dems are discovering that Obamacare is a winner at the polls

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/hagan-obamacare-burwell-hearing

“While Republican senators mostly went through the motions with their anti-Obamacare talking points or outright endorsed Burwell as Kathleen Sebelius’s replacement, Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) used her time to trumpet the benefits of Medicaid expansion — and emphasize the downside of not expanding.”

“Hagan is one of the most vulnerable Senate Democrats, holding a slim 0.8 percent polling advantage over Tillis per Real Clear Politics. She has been one of the targets in the American for Prosperity’s air campaign, which has attacked her for her support of the law.”

  26. May 9, 2014 at 7:42 am

I guess this must be the energy news that ck referenced yesterday evening – but looks like the MSM is barely talking about it. Mark Knoller mentioned it briefly last night but framed it negatively.
