      HAPPY HUMPDAY HZ!

Your energy is positively contagious; sweet, calm and electrifying, soothing the spirit for blessings to come in.

What awesome work you covered for the animals. It’s not what we say but what we do is what matters. Being involved in the community is the way to bring about change. The elders use to say; if you see a problem, and you choose to do nothing, don’t talk about it because you are a part of the problem when you sit down and do nothing but complain.

Glad to know that “the blood pressure” was not doing a “happy dance.” : )

May you be blessed indeed, and your good works rewarded with the overflow of abundance in every area of your life. As your cup runs over (blessings), and the negatives become your footstool, celebrate each victory because you deserve every ounce of goodness.

      Have a WONDERFULLY SPENDID AFTERNOON!

Cindy, your words of from a kind and beautiful space. Thank you. I was always taught by my dear mother and grandparents to always move in the flow of God’s daily light of gratefulness for your life each morning of my life. And they always said, “If you find yourself above the green grass, start moving with a purpose of helping within your space. ”

Above all, I try to keep my needle of gratefulness at the top of my focal point daily, and I do see opportunities to put some goodness into my space in order to also share my blessings with others.

Cindy, thanks for your wise words and may our TOD family continue to support, respect, and love our president and his entire team today. One day at a time. Give goodness forth for wisdom, protection, and grace to be graciously granted to President Obama and his entire Cabinet. Our prayers, meditations, and as Bobfr reminds us, #TrustBarack move forth with the power of God to bless our CIC and our men and women who are serving us and have continued to serve this nation.

Pray for all who are within and at Camp Pendleton at this time. The winds are very rough where I live and in many surrounding areas, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you all. HZ

Yes, I will include it in my prayers. I believe in being grateful and thankful for all things, even when it is not looking good. I, like you, love our First Family and I pray for them daily, and I pray for those who are working with President Obama. No matter what journey we are on, we are blessed. I am thankful every day that the good Lord has His reasons for waking me up and starting me on my way each day.

Everyday we don’t read our name in the obituary column, we have something to be grateful for and dance about : )

God is good all the time and all the time He is GOOD!

          Warmest Blessings {{{{{HZ}}}}}

I know I say it each time, but I love NYC so much and it just makes me happy when POTUS and FLOTUS go there. I hope that between the political and social duties they are going for, that they can take some time for a nice dinner in one of New York’s restaurants or some romantic room service and a little sightseeing or shopping. They probably won’t have time, but I would like to think of them “out on the town” in my town.

De Blasio’s Role Among Republicans: Nemesis

“These folks can still party like it’s 1999,” said Peter Ragone, a senior adviser to Mr. de Blasio. “The 21st century called and asked if they want to join us and help everyday Americans get ahead.”
By MICHAEL BARBARO and MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM
    MAY 14, 2014

Jeb Bush, a possible Republican presidential candidate, offered to help run a campaign to oust the new mayor in 2017. Bill O’Reilly, the Fox News titan, said he wanted “to beat him up.”

And at a black-tie dinner a few nights ago, a billionaire donor to the Republican Party warned that under his stewardship, New York City risked becoming the “New Havana.”

National Republicans, alarmed by the rising influence of activist liberals in government and eager to paint the Democratic Party as captive to its left wing, seem to have settled on an unlikely new nemesis: Bill de Blasio.

It is a startling turn for a municipal leader who was virtually unknown, even within New York, just a year ago, but now finds himself on the same conservative dartboard as far better established figures, like Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and the occupant of the Oval Office.

Shonda Rhimes Will Own ABC on Thursday Nights

If you needed any more evidence of Shonda Rhimes’ power in the entertainment industry, just turn on your television on Thursdays this fall, where she’ll own a three-hour block of shows on ABC. Here’s more:

After three stellar seasons at 10 p.m., Scandal is moving to an hour earlier in an effort to launch the new Rhimes drama How to Get Away With Murder [starring Viola Davis]. That means that veteran Grey’s Anatomy, still one of ABC’s most dependable series after 10 seasons, is moving to the troubled 8 p.m. slot. […..]

I am super duper excited for Shonda Rhimes ‘How To Get Away With Murder.’ Viola Davis?!?! Sign me up. She’s had me from that powerful two minutes or so scene in Doubt that was so mind blowing powerful and garnered her an Oscar nomination.

ABC is realizing that the Shonda Rhimes formula works and that diversity that reflects the true America of 2014 works.

As they say, “if you build it, they will come.”

Congratulations to Shonda Rhimes. She’s got me on Thursday nights.

    Good Afternoon TOD Family!

My birthday is tomorrow, but I’m starting today…hubby is taking me to a French restaurant (I never heard of it before, but it don’t matter). He picked it himself without asking me…this is a big deal in my house. Tomorrow drinks and dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse and Saturday night out with the girls! FUN!!! Click tv-off is the right decision! Tell MSNBC they can keep their “taste” which is nothing more than a 5-second live clip, followed by a segment-long panel distorting what he said and bashing him for what he didn’t say or do.

Meanwhile we will keep our President and watch his entire speech live, online.

Effing Idiot John McCain would have had the world in flames if, God forbid, they had elected him and Barbie of the Tundra. I’m beginning to think he really believes she would have been just fine. What a ruse he pulled on the American people his entire career.

This is how the man who wanted to be Leader of the Free World looks at sovereign nations:

“If they knew where they were, I certainly would send in U.S. troops to rescue them, in a New York minute I would, without permission of the host country,” McCain told The Daily Beast on Tuesday. “I wouldn’t be waiting for some kind of permission from some guy named Goodluck Jonathan,” he added, referring to the president of Nigeria.”

Diplomacy really never occurs to him. Just bomb. Anybody.

He was a nutcase in ‘moderate’ clothing. What a bastard.

      May 14, 2014 at 3:46 pm

Condescending, old, neocon fuckwad. I detest that man. Sorry for the overly salty language. It’s the truth.

      • 79 57andfemale
        May 14, 2014 at 3:51 pm

        My sentiments (and language) exactly.

He really means it: bombing is his answer to everything. You would send troops into Nigeria and eff the Nigerian government?

It was a cold chill that went over my heart when I realized he really does believe Sarah Palin could have been President.

And an even colder chill goes through me when I read that there is a 23% enthusiasm gap with Dem’s. How effing bad does it have to get before Dems will bother to vote?

        • 80 desertflower
          May 14, 2014 at 4:00 pm

Aside from being an intellectual lightweight, the moral character of someone who would put the country and THE ENTIRE WORLD at risk with the Tundra Twit as VP….sorry. Even if she WASN’T his choice, he never fought against her as far as I could see. He took what the powers that pulled his strings told him to do…I have zero respect for that POS. as far as the war hero stuff goes, honestly…so many more men than him went through the same horrors….where’s THEIR special respect? He makes me so angry….and he’s MY Senator! All I’ve gotten from him is rudeness from his staff and a form letter for an email. He has no idea that I’M his boss.

          • 81 57andfemale
            May 14, 2014 at 4:05 pm

he scammed his ‘war hero’ stuff his entire career. He was a menace even then – didn’t he crash some plane? Mr. 57 knows all of those details.

I will say again – the reason for the tea party b.s. falls on John McCain alone. By saying any idiot with ideology was better than educated, sensible, experienced elected officials – every idiot ran for office and won. The party was changed dramatically, and it was because John McCain said the country could be run by a hateful idiot.

I believe there are little blips in history that change everything: McCain choosing Sarah Palin was one of those.

        • 84 99ts
          May 14, 2014 at 8:51 pm

Sarah Palin is the start of it – the number of the people being elected to congress that are ignorant buffoons is frightening to see – there is little doubt PBO is the reason we are not currently in WWIII in Europe.

I rarely mention Hitler – but he did get to power by legal means (with a few scare tactics thrown in). The massive support of the loons for the 2nd amendment, the likes of Christie scaring the opposition to vote for him added to the openly draconian views of the GOP looks very similar from my distance.

          • 85 57andfemale
            May 15, 2014 at 11:00 am

It is terrifying. We have been close to this kind of idiocy before, but always had enough moderates in both parties to avoid disaster. This is the first time I know of that there is such extremism in the halls of power and in complete control of a political party. Terrifying.

            • 86 99ts
              May 15, 2014 at 11:19 am

And the hard right (perhaps not with so much stupid) is a world wide trend. On can only pray that folks stop thinking this is the society they want to live in – before it all implodes upon them. I think PBO will have an impact long after 2017 – the world is so lucky to have him – as they were to have Mandela – I have trouble thinking of another who has lived in my lifetime who is comparable.
              Enjoy your day 57&F

              • 87 57andfemale
                May 15, 2014 at 11:34 am

It requires constant vigilance. There is no rest. I remember thinking 7, 8 years ago that I assumed my battles were over: I fought for civil rights, women’s rights, LGBT rights, the end of the Vietnam War. But here I am – looking at more draconian laws and whole new level of stupid than I ever dreamed was possible.

I hate to sound selfish, but I’m 64 and my husband is 74. We never dreamed we have to fight for health care, Medicare or Social Security at our time in life. There doesn’t appear to be a reasonable counterbalance to any of it. We would have it here if Democrats voted – but how bad does it have to get to motivate them to vote if they aren’t ‘in love’ with their candidate? I can’t fathom it.

You have a nice evening, 99ts.

                • 88 99ts
                  May 15, 2014 at 11:42 am

We do seem to have to reinvent the wheel over and over – our current government is trying to undo our health care system – it certainly needs some fixing – but mainly on the supply side – this lot are trying to cur demand via co-pays for the poor (many doctors already charge co-pays to those who can afford same).

I’m retired, Mr 99 will be the same in 6 months and suddenly our costs are going to be somewhat higher than we thought – it does grate – but in my world the young are suffering from this lot much more than I will – and most of them voted for the others (can’t blame GOTV – everyone votes here).

He pissed off Merkel when she was in D.C. by badmouthing her while on American soil. The world would be ashes if we’d been dumb enough to elect him.

And yet I worry every day about the dangerous, dumb people that get elected to office in this country just because Democrats don’t realize that (1) they should be afraid, very afraid; and (2) it’s okay to vote your ‘fear’. Not everyone needs to be a movie version of Bobby Kennedy and Jesus and the Dalai Lama all in one.

[WTH! Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-MI). Was he having difficulty getting 1000 signatures? Really?]:

“Conyers’ re-election had been a foregone conclusion — as it has been for decades — until recent weeks, when the 25-term incumbent’s position on the ballot became imperiled. Two individuals collecting signatures for Conyers’ ballot-qualifying petition were found to not be registered voters and thereby the signatures were ruled invalid. As a result, Conyers did not meet the 1,000-signature threshold to appear on the Aug. 5 primary ballot.”

Gov. Cuomo doesn’t top my favorite list these days but he got this bridge going and I further believe if not for Chrispy Creme who comandeered the remaining money After 80 million had been spent on both sides of the Hudson River for a badly needed tunnel—Well, maybe someday we will hear that entire story.

Other than Cristie trying to balance his budget – is there any more to the story. Like Bridgegate, someone gave Christie the idea that stopping the tunnel would give him some cash so his friends would not need to pay any taxes.

This media blackout of The Presidency of Barack Obama is a crying shame.
So-called news stations have degenerated entirely into malicious gossip stations.
Yes, I am angry and probably exagerating.

You are not exaggerating. And yes, we are all angry with you about the abysmal state of our media. This is shameful and should have never been allowed to happen.

I loved the president’s speech–especially calling out Republicans on their partisan ignorance—and I loved the view of my favorite river. But this is my hometown and I would have loved a little view of Tarrytown itself. It was fun to grow up with tales if Ichabod Crane, the headless horseman and Rip Van Winkle. We had all the advantages of a small town, but were only 30 minutes from NYC.
